Oh, what a ride. I had such a good time reading this book. It was refreshing, the characters felt so lively and well flashed out. I loved all 3 MMCs. The writing style was beautiful, and felt very intimate at times. The story builds up kind of slowly and has a lot of politics, which I didn't mind, (first book in a series and world building and all) because the author still managed to make it gripping, interesting and even funny and charming. Psychologically, it was especially fascinating for me. Those characters are authentically flawed, and that's what makes them so believable and genuine.
Puppy-Boy Edan definitely found a fan in me, and I can't wait to read what's next.
I don’t even know where to start. Actually, kidding. EDAN IS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER!!! I’d die for this guy, and I’m not the only one.
I’m so invested in the romantic dynamics. I will definitely be absorbing the next book once I get my hands on some spending money. For now, I think back on the torment I went through reading this novel. I was distraught, angry, annoyed, cautious, entertained, and the amount of times I wanted to slap characters through pages was unreal. I enjoyed every second of it.
You should’ve seen the shock on my face and the tears I shed at one of the biggest twists in the novel. I had to take a step back and power through the rest, with even more “wait, WHAT?!” moments.
This was such a fun read. I can’t wait to escape through this portal again!
