Running away from my duties as a Princess and hiding from my family here at RLU might have been the scariest things I’ve done But, working in close proximity with the guy I’ve had a crush on for the last three years? That feels terrifying. Ryker is my opposite in every way, yet every time we’re in the same room We’re drawn to one another despite all the reasons we shouldn’t It’s a game we’re set up to lose, but I find myself wanting to play it anyway.
Ryker
All my life, my only focus was baseball. No parties, no friends. Not even love. It was baseball and I, till the very end. Until she worked her way under my skin and I’m terrified to face it. Camille is everything I’m not but I find myself unable to deny the attraction and chemistry we have when she starts working for the baseball team. Falling for her is like being up to bat with a full count, But, this time, instead of running, I’ll swing with all I’ve got to hit a home run.
Hi! My name is Carlie Jean, a girl who loves to write new adult romances featuring protective males and strong heroines with a side of spice, tension, laughter, and a hefty dose of scenes that give readers butterflies.
When I’m not teaching little ones, you can find me cozied up at home, either writing or reading. And when I’m not being a couch potato, I enjoy walking my dog, playing volleyball and baseball, and traveling.
the idea was so good and entertaining but the way it was written had me question writer’s choices. the story follows runaway princes from france who settles in united states where she gets to live a ‘normal life’. she works with baseball team where she falls in love with one of the players while still being undercover from her parents.
`✦ ˑ ִֶ 𓂃⊹
i actually loved the idea! camille was smart and independent. she literally runaway from her country to experience life fully. she wasn’t scared and was ready to fight for her future. ryker was grumpy and had some issues which we didn’t really figure out. he was very closed and stayed like that for most of the time.
`✦ ˑ ִֶ 𓂃⊹
questions: why wasn’t he questioning her being a princess? he never brought up the subject again, he never talked or asked questions and we never even got to hear his throughs about the situation. the same way with last chapters. why no one was shocked by the information? i don’t want to spoiler, but no one was actually curious?👀 if their parents left her brother alone, why wouldn’t they leave her alone as well? i do understand the point of parents , but still, her brother was mostly free while she was searched for, the entire time.
overall, i liked the book about volleyball player and student the most in the series!
Thank you so much for an arc Carlie Jean and Good Girls PR.
I had a great time reading this book! It's got all the fun stuff: sports romance, college vibes, and I loved the "player and social media manager" scenario. The tension between Camille and Ryker when they're both crushing on each other? Chef's kiss!
The runaway princess storyline with its royal twists was a blast. Camille's determination to follow her heart was inspiring, though her nickname for Ryker wasn’t my favorite (it rhymes, but I’m not sold on it).
Ryker was a grumpy baseball player and a protective boyfriend, but I wished he had more character development. He needed a bit more attention to really shine.
Overall, this book was fluffy and spicy, just how I like it! Camille learning to defend herself was empowering, and Ryker learning to open up was sweet.
However, there were a few moments that felt a bit off, like everyone being so chill about Camille being a runaway princess, and Ryker's grumpiness sometimes felt forced. The ending was also a bit rushed.
Despite that, I still enjoyed it and can't wait for the next book! Hoping it's about Camille's brother because, come on, a story with accidental pregnancy and rivalries? Count me in!
Read this if you like: ⚾ Baseball Player MMC 👑 Runaway Princess ⚾ Grumpy x Sunshine 👑 Forced Proximity
This book was tons of fun. It’s got a little bit of everything: sports romance, college life, a runaway princess, a sexy tattooed MMC, a great friends group, and family drama. Ryker is surly, possessive, and protective, but is a secret softie. He falls hard and fast for Camille and is willing to do anything for her. Camille is headstrong and fearless and isn’t afraid to go after what she wants. I love that she learned to defend herself and to trust her instincts. This is the third book in the series, and now I want to go back and read the first two to get Aurora and Cameron’s story and Jasmine and Elio’s story. I’m also looking forward to book four so I can get Theo and Marcela’s story. 👸 My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 👸 Read if you like: ▫️grumpy x sunshine ▫️forced proximity ▫️found family ▫️baseball player MMC ▫️runaway princess ▫️dual POV 👸 Thank you to Good Girls PR and Carlie Jean for the gifted copy. ‧ * ₊ 。 ꒰🍁꒱ HAPPY (1 day late) RELEASE DATE!!! Carlie never disappoints with her books and that’s something no one can change my mind on. I’ve fully fallen in love with men who have tattoos, Ryker not being an exception. No one does situationships the way Carlie does, even though fwb is not one of my favorite tropes, I’ve fallen in love with it due to her. The way that she writes the characters makes them seem so real and personal, Cami running away from her problems was such a connection between me and her. Also the nickname Ryker gave her (before he knew her secret) WAS SO SWEET 🥹🫶 calling her princess and treating her like one was amazing. The one thing I didn’t enjoy which brought my rating down SLIGHTLY was the fact that no one questioned anything. Why was Ryker so okay with everything and not questioning it 😟… this would’ve been read so much quicker if I wasn’t so busy 🙁

This book just made me so happy. Was I giggling? Yes. Was I kicking my feet? Yes. Ryker and Camille were fun from beginning to end, could not get enough of them and their relationship.
Ryker is a baseball player for RLU and he’s very grumpy, doesn’t want love (so he says), is a tattoo artist, rides a motorcycle, has a close relationship with his mom and a love for pop tarts and disney movies.
Camille is at RLU and gets the social media manager position with the school’s baseball team BUT she just happens to be hiding her real identity as she’s a runaway princess and trying to stay hidden from her toxic parents. She also loves to garden, makes fun latte art, and has had a major crush on Ryker for the past 3 years.
Ryker and Camille were everything, from their cute little nicknames, their hot moments, and to their sweet quiet moments, it was just so easy to love them.
I was immediately drawn to this book after I've seen it. It had something about it which piqued my interest and I'm glad that I gave it a chance! Also, I need to thank Carlie Jean and Good Girls Pr for this e-copy.
Camille is a very mysterious women, who didn't want others to learn about her past. She also had a trauma, from which she found very difficult to be close to men. This until she feels the connection she has with one tatooed men, which calmed her every time he was near her. His name is Ryker, a very handsome baseball player.
Camille gets the job to be the person who handles the PR side for the team Ryker plays for. So, this required a lot of time around the team, and therefore, around Ryker too. And this only made their attraction to each other to grow even more. But would Camille's past let her get her wanted happy ending? Because it was looming more with each day she spent with Ryker and Camille felt she finally found the right place to stay - with the right friends and the one she loved.
One of my favourite things in books is the awesome friend gangs which are growing so much closer during the story. Camille found that in Jasmine, Aurora, Theo, Elio and Cameron. They've completed in the best way this book and I've enjoyed so much all their interactions and I've laughed a lot. They were the bestest and they helped Camille when everything seemed lost.
Ryker was such a kind heart underneath his bad boy facade. He was passionate about tatoos and he even made one for Camille too. I loved his cave man parts and the protective ones. They made me giggle a lot. He was also very sweet and thoughtful with Camille.
I really liked this book and I've enjoyed the rollercoaster of the plot. We had steamy romance, comedy and a bit of action and suspense. A great package overall!
4.5 ⭐️ if college baseball and the princess protection program movie had a baby.. it would be this book! Seriously an escape artist princess and a grumpy bad-boy/biker/baseball player. It sounds like a lot and it is but it makes things so interesting!! Like imagine Dansby Swanson on a motorcycle.. You’re welcome. Camille is a baseball loving bombshell who speaks multiple languages and left her country in order to thrive. And boy is this princess THRIVING. Seriously I’m cheering for these two. I want a movie. Take my money now 💳💳
- grumpy x sunshine - sports romance - friends to lovers - forbidden love - black cat golden retriever energy
Absolutely LOVED this book! Had the wonderful opportunity of being an ARC reader, so thanks to Good Girls PR and Carlie for allowing me to read this lovely story early.
I loved jumping back into this world that Carlie creates. The princess x biker x baseball vibes were just chef's kiss 👌. Watching Camille and Ryker realizing that they're perfect for one another was so beautiful. And seeing them be there for each other, especially in those difficult moments, was amazing. And we definitely can not leave out the spice 🌶🌶🥵!
Overall, 10/10 enjoyed reading and will definitely be re-reading to enjoy it all over again.
I DEVOURED this book!! I absolutely loved it so much, I loved how grouchy he was but fell hard for and only had eyes for her. And her being french and everything had to work out perfectly for them to be together, it was just so 🤌🏻
This was such a cute, fun & spicy read. Camille & Ryker had great chemistry & tension and I really enjoyed their bantering. It was nice to see their relationship develop. I liked the runaway princess/royal storyline and thought it was a fun twist on this story.
I enjoyed Camille’s character and liked how determined she was to live her life on her own terms. Ryker was the grumpy tattooed baseball player and I liked how protective he was of her but there were times when his grumpiness felt a bit forced. I also felt there were some inconsistencies with the plot like when he found out she was a runway princess and had literally no questions about it.
Overall, I did enjoy this! Thank you to Carlie Jean & Good Girls PR for the ARC! This is my honest review! 💜
Tropes: - Sports romance - Baseball player x Runaway princess - Grumpy x Sunshine - Forced proximity - Found family
Thank you to Good Girls PR and Carlie for the e-ARC!
Carlie is my girl, and I will read anything that she writes, and I've enjoyed following the friends of the RLU series and their journeys of finding love. I loved the idea of this: a runaway princess and a grumpy baseball player. This felt very Disney inspired, which I though was super cute, but don't be beguiled because this was spicy; think R rated Disney 😂🌶
I really liked Camille, I thought she was great, headstrong and she knew what she wanted. I liked Ryker, too, but I felt like I didn't know much about him outside of baseball, asides from working at the tattoo shop. I wasn't overly sold on what made him a grump either.
I liked the hidden identity aspect, but I thought it was overlooked; the fact that Camille is a princess. Both with her friends and Ryker; it came up in conversation and that was that it wasn't mentioned again. I would have liked to have seen more of that, as I think it's a big part of the plot.
To add on that, the whole royal aspect feeling like an afterthought, it only became a mild conflict towards the end with her parents; it just felt like it happened and that was that which felt a bit anticlimactic.
This is just my personal preference, but I was not a fan of the nickname 'Ryker the biker' Camille had for him.
Overall, I did enjoy reading about Camille and Ryker's story and I can't wait for what's next to come in the RLU series!
Ryker is black cat energy and Camille is miss sunshine. They need each other more they know Camille has secrets and Ryker has a fear of loving someone because everyone leaves. Camille is not only a runway princess, she also breaking stereotypes with women roles in men sports. This book had me bed ridden because of how badly i wanted to finish it also didn't want it to end.
please note that the trigger warnings and topes/themes may contain spoilers I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. HEA: HEA POV: dual 1st person POV spice: several open-door spicy scenes TWs: assault, attempted sexual assault, blackmail, cheating, manipulation, parental abandonment, PTSD Kinky Content: cum play, dirty talk, grinding, finger licking good, fingering, “fuck it”, nipple play, pierced nipples, public sex, shower sex standalone: book 3 of RLU series final thoughts: starting a book with a playlist is a great way to get me excited about a book and that excitement lasted through to the very end. I loved the way this book surprised me! This is book 3 of a series- it can be read as a standalone (which I did) but I’ll definitely be going back to read the rest of the series because I loved all the characters so much. The tattooing scenes were some of my favorites and I loved the way we got to see them both changing for themselves and each other. The forced proximity scenes were so well done and the grand gestures were so perfect!

How can I explain to you that I was fangirling the whole book without spoilers?
Before sharing my thoughts on this book, I wanted to say thank you to Good Girls PR and the author for the advanced copy.
Now, let's get to the good part.
If you start a book with a playlist and the first song is by Taylor Swift, you've got me. Like, I'm a crazy Swiftie; if you give me a Taylor song to represent your book, I'm going to read it.
But it's not just that. The book is a sports romance with a grumpy x sunshine trope, which is my kind of book.
I think I started fangirling the moment Ryker first appeared. I just fell in love with him there. He came into my life without warning, and I fell in love with him.
The grumpy exterior but cinnamon roll interior of Ryker was beautiful to read because you get to know him more in every chapter, making you fall even more for him.
Camille is so cute and a little bit funny. I like her, and the dialogues between them were cute and funny too, but sometimes really spicy, and I just loved that.
The balance between cute romance and spicy romance was good, like having the best of both worlds in a book.
I would like to know more about Cami's brothers, Quentin and Mathéo. I think they would have great stories and great love stories too.
This book was the first one I read by the author, but now I want to read more of her work because it was such a light read and beautifully written. I hope one day I can have it in physical form because I want to mark everything.
This was a fun, spicy read! I was invested from the first page!
Ryker and Camille were perfect for each other! I enjoyed watching their relationship develop and see them break their walls down for each other. I love how brave and independent Camille was. Ryker is my favorite grumpy baseball player. I loved how Camille called him “Ryker the Biker”. Ryker was also a strong character and goal driven- always had baseball as his main priority, until he met Camille. Ryker was such a great boyfriend and would do anything for Camille! He was so sweet and caring. There were a lot of twists and secrets revealed which kept the book fun and interesting!
I also enjoyed the friend group!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5/5 Dual POV

Thank you to Good Girl PR & Carlie Jean for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I can honestly, without a doubt, say that I loved this book. No 3rd act break up (just something different), no miscommunication. The only thing I would’ve loved is for Ryker to have a reaction to finding out the girl he nicknamed “princess” is an actual princess. Even if it was just for a page or two, I would’ve enjoyed some shock on his face.
If you love books with a grumpy, tattooed, motorcycle rider, baseball player MC who only radiates sunshine when around his girl, this is the book for you. Ryker started out as a grump who didn’t want anything to do with anyone. He didn’t want friends or a relationship, he wanted baseball and that’s it. Once Camille came into his life, he began to blossom. More smiles, more joy. And we all found out that he was a romantic at heart. Swoon😍 This book had the perfect balance of (extra) spicy 🌶️ moments & sweet, tearjerking ones too. The found family in this book was so special to me, and I love that Ryker was eventually able to feel it too.
“I love being independent and all that, but I love love.” 💕 Camille spoke to my soul with that one. True lover girls til the very end. The people’s princess with kindness and contagious joy, with the sense of adventure. Camille was a pleasant surprise to me. I didn’t know what to expect when reading a runaway princess trope, but it was just that and everything more. She escaped her home country to live out the life she always wanted. Along the way, she made friends she held dear, a boyfriend she loved more than anything, and she gained a sense of power within her. She learned how to defend herself and she put it to use when the time required.
I can’t wait to read the other books in this series if they prove to be as good as this one was.
“Keep Me” by Carlie Jean releases on July 9 and will be featured on Kindle Unlimited.
•Runaway Princess •Baseball Player MMC •Forced Proximity •Grumpy/Sunshine •Spicy •Found Family
Ryker the Biker has stolen my heart 🥰 this grumpy, only sweet for Camille, tattoo artist, baseball playing, long haired, biker man — what else could you ask for???
I melt to the ground for the 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 nickname 👑 it’s my favorite, and I don’t even care how basic that is. The way this man cared for and loved Camille!! And how protective he was before he even actually got to know her.. his instant connection to her and how he just couldn’t stay away ughhhh 💗
They are my favorite couple of the series so far! Camille is a sweetheart, and the way she fought for her independence and own life from her family, but also wouldn’t let them hurt Ryker 🥹
Im a sucker for the found family trope too, and I loved that they both got to experience this. I love this friend group, and can’t wait for Theo’s hea 🫶🏼
tropes - baseball, grumpy x sunshine, she’s a runaway princess, forced proximity
It’s always fun to come across a book that has a plot that I haven’t seen yet, and this college sports romance with a secret royal twist was definitely a first for me!
I really loved Ryker’s character and his grumpiness but the way he ends up loving Camille and the things he does for her are just so sweet. These two had long term crushes on each other that they both thought were unrequited so I was rooting for them extra hard. I did think the royal thing was skimmed over a bit, like when she told Ryker her secret and he had no questions about her life, so I would’ve loved to have seen her talk about that a little more.
This is the first book I’ve read in the series, but I still appreciated the group of friends who support Ryker and Camille and I will definitely read whatever comes next!
I enjoyed reading this book. Sports romance, at college, player x social media manager tropes were fun to read. The forced proximity when both the characters are equally attracted to each other hits differently.
It was a joy to read the runaway princess story, the twisted elements of royalty. I admire her determination to follow her heart. Although, I didn't like her nickname for him(ik it rhymes but just no 😂)
When it comes to ryker, I feel like he should have got more character and detailed storyline. A grumpy baseball player and a protective boyfriend was all that of his personality. I'd have liked it if he had a little bit more individual attention.
I really really really want Carlie to write Camille's brother's book. I'd devour it 🤞🏻 please let the next book be about him (Accidental pregnancy with his rival's sister! Who wouldn't want to read that!)
ARC REVIEW (RELEASES On JULY 9) KEEP ME ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
"I'd never play a game of baseball again if I knew I'd get to have you by my side for the rest of my life. I love baseball, and it would suck if I lost it, but I'd find other things to fill that void. Losing you, though? There's nothing that could replace the spot in my heart that was made just for you."
Thank you for the opportunity to read this eArc and share my review!!
Started and finished it in one go!!! My new favorite of the series until the next one that I’ll have my eyes peeled for, because I can’t waitttt!!! Back to the original plot , I absolutely loved Camille and Ryker since book 2 so imagine how I reacted when I was chosen to read the eArc!!! This book had me giggling and kicking my feet, I’m in love, I’m obsessed and I don’t even feel bad about it. Had to pause and take some laps around my room after reading a certain scene 👀👀 but mind your business!!! This love story was beautiful, they are beautiful I loveddd it alllllll.
Grumpy x sunshine + baseball + runaway princess? Top tier tropes galore!! 🌶️🌶️
Keep Me is book 3 in the RLU series following Camille and Ryker. You get glimpses of Camille’s secret and Ryker’s brooding in book 2, so the buildup for this was *chef’s kiss* if you love a grumpy baseball player who swore off love, but falls hard for the sunshine runaway princess, then this is FOR YOU!!
Being book 3 in a series builds a lot of expectation to live up to, and Keep Me delivered! The spice, the banter, the longing, it was all expertly done. Already dying for the next book!
I was so grateful to be picked for an arc for Trust Me as I loved Promise Me and then to be picked for Keep Me I screamed 🥹🤭
Just when I thought it couldn’t get better than Jasmine and Elio in comes Ryker and Camille. I loved this story from start to finish.
I loved seeing the soft sides to Ryker as well as seeing Cami come out of her shell and find who she truly is.
I cannot wait to read about Theo and I am begging on my knees that Carlie writes a book about Q 🙏🏼🧎🏽♀️
If you love 👑 runaway princess ⚾️ grumpy/sunshine 👑 forced proximity ⚾️ sports romance Then you’ll eat this book up. Keep me comes out July 9th and it’s everything and more 🥰
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
was this bad? yes. was this still one hundred thousand times better than the last two books in the series? YES! i still struggled at times but somehow this one was much more tolerable. maybe the author read my last two reviews and decided to finally make a change. this was just a simple sweet college romance (although still ridiculously cheesy and gag worthy) whereas i think the last two couples were too in your face and gross. i still would never recommend this but it was nice to numb my brain for a while.
This is going to be similar to my other reviews for the books in the series because while I love the idea and beginning plot, it lacks being carried through the book. Every single time it feels rushed to me, even though this was probably my fav of the series! Ryker was the one who caught my heart the most though, they were all sweeties though! This series was Disappointing if I had to be honest because it had so much potential and didn’t pull through.
This story was adorable. It was clear how much Camille and Ryker liked each other, and watching them fall in love was a joy. I especially enjoyed Ryker's possessive and protective nature. The struggle between his heart and mind was compelling, even though it was evident his heart was winning. I also appreciated Camille's willingness to accept whatever she could from Ryker, despite fearing it might end in heartbreak. She was simply happy to have him for as long as possible.
I thought I’d end up liking this one the most, but nah. I don’t think I should have read these books back to back. They have such a copy and paste type of plot that it was so boring by this book. Why do they all need to be perfect people? Zero realistic conflict in this book especially. Idk not my cup of tea when everything is going absolutely perfect and is extra cheesy for an entire series
