Once upon a time, I looked at love through rose-tinted glasses because love is meant to conquer all, right?

However, was I just a hopeless romantic at heart, chasing the proverbial happily ever after?

Being a romance author, one may think I know what I’m doing when it comes to love. But I hate to spoil the ending for you, dear reader; love and me, we aren’t friends. And we haven’t been for quite some time.

That’s not because I don’t believe in love.

On the contrary.

And that’s the reason we are here…again.

We all have that one person.

For me, he caught me unaware, and that’s when life usually screams KEEP UP!

And most times, we can’t.

If you’ve read Love Hard, then you know how love and I were no longer on speaking terms. But I wrote something which was a sign from the heavens. Or perhaps, hell…

I’ve learned that good men are like unicorns. Everyone talks about them, but no one actually sees them.

How I’m eating my words because I’ve found my unicorn. But does that mean I’ve finally learned my lessons in love? Is your beloved narrator about to get her HEA after all?

Buckle up, bestie, things are about to get wild.

Love hits you when you least expect it…and we are never ready for the fall.

LOVE.
Four simple letters which, on their own, are hardly remarkable. But strung together...they have the ability to fuck you, and fuck you hard without buying you dinner first.
Why do we put our trust, our faith, in a stranger? Because of...love?

Oh my words. This book, guys, let me tell you, deserved more than a thousand stars. Remember how I said I found it a little hard to resonate with book one, Love Hard: A Memoir, which, by the way, turned out to be much better than my first read after rereading it when I was done with Love Harder? Well, I wasn't expecting how addictive its sequel would be but alas, here I was, getting ready to rant and rave about this masterpiece.

We live in a disposable world where one doesn't even have to leave the house anymore to "meet" people. It's all within a swipe to decide whether your "true love" is really out there.

Monica James ("MJ") always has a knack of telling the most unforgettable stories and this time, she outdid herself AGAIN with her own memoir. Like everyone else, MJ got her heart broken several times while finding love; unlike most people, she wasn't afraid of giving love a second, third, fourth, and even fifth shot. This book was way more personal than the first as not only was the stories based on MJ's experiences, but it was told from her POV (rather than Z's).

...a situationship gives you so much, and then gives you nothing but breadcrumbs to keep you hooked.

What impressed me most was how resilient MJ was throughout each relationship. No matter how many red flags she should have seen coming, should have been more aware of, or should have listened to her gut feelings, she never backed down after having her heart shattered again and again. Whether by the different or the same guys, she managed to learn something from those relationships and even got to make and then cherish beautiful memories with some of them. Although sometimes those experiences left her confused and she might not have gotten the closure she wanted/deserved/sought, she still became stronger and tougher every time.

I was waiting for the catch; the entire time, I was waiting for The Unicorn to drop some bombshell so I could slap a DNF on him and shelve him with his fellow humankind.

Honestly, I felt incredibly empowered after reading this book in one sitting. The entire reading experience was as if listening to MJ sharing her own stories IN PERSON; the description in this memoir was THAT vivid and the whole writing style was so flawlessly captivating. It was undoubtedly an unputdownable page-turner despite the fact that on several occasions, I wanted to pause for a second and jump into the pages just to give MJ the biggest hug I could offer. She had a real heart of gold, who was literally the kindest, the most forgiving, and the most generous person I'd ever known, book in and book out (well, if bookish world counted). Seriously, I was beyond grateful that she bled her heart and soul out in this memoir, only to bless us readers with her most personal stories in life, about the good, the bad, and the miracle that was love.

But sometimes there are no answers in life.
Sometimes, things just are.

Just like reading any life-altering books, Love Harder wasn't an easy read. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed and loved every single word of this precious gem, but there was no denying that some of MJ's love stories were pure torture for her and I could only imagine how much pain she was in during those moments. Of course, it was a relief to know she had so many close friends like Bunny, Pinky, Mötley, and more in her tribe to support her whenever she needed a shoulder to cry on. <3

Lastly, all I could sum up about this book was that love was hard. Both loving yourself and loving someone else because no one taught us how to do them properly. There was no correct answer regarding how to love. How to be loved. Or how to show love and care and affection appropriately. I reckoned most people learnt from experiences but for real, how did you know what you were doing was right for you, your partner, or those around you?

Simply put, we didn't get a front row seat to witness someone else's learning curve of loving themselves and others, nor did we get any sort of validation about how we love in life. That being said, thanks to MJ, now we have something to lean on and make us stronger (yeah, yeah, I know what you said, MJ, YOU make yourself stronger and not what doesn't kill you or anything else, but STILL!). For that, I admire you forever and ever. Thank you for sharing your unwavering love not just to the boys you used to love, but to all the readers you may not even know in real life. At least to me, I just found the encouragement and strength I didn't know I was looking for all this time after savoring Love Harder. Now I'm confident to say that I will not be scared to love and will start loving harder in my life. So once again, thank you, MJ. :)

P.S. I really do believe The Unicorn is THE ONE for you, MJ. Hopefully all of us will get to find our own unicorns. *wink*

Love Harder sent my heart into overdrive as Monica’s vulnerability, honesty, pain and hope shined through. It’s brave to put yourself out there trying to find your person but it’s a whole other level to share it in writing with the world. I’m proud of her for sharing and I’m proud of her for still believing in love and not giving up on finding it. I wanted to scream so many times during this story! I also wanted to reach inside my kindle and hug her so hard! It’s ok to not be ok!!! Liars and “ghosts” get me all fired up too! The Superman and unicorn meanings made me emotional in the best way and I agree both exist! This book reminded me when love lets you down, love harder! Life is short even when the days feel long and we all deserve to experience love and happiness. Everyone has their own unique journey and if you can love the wrong person so hard, imagine how much you can love the right one!

💓🦄 Love Harder by Monica James drops tomorrow, and let me tell you—this one’s special. I’m not just saying that because I was with Monica when she met one of the characters (or should I say boyfriends), she wrote about in the sequel to Love Hard. Yep, that weekend was one for the books—literally! I can’t wait for you to experience it.
This story is based on Monica’s real life, and if you check out the hot book cover, you will see Monica and her boyfriend in front and center. How cool is that? Just a heads-up—you’ve got to read Love Hard first to fully appreciate the roller coaster of raw emotion that Love Harder will take you on. Fun fact: Monica has amazing feet (and you’ll get what I mean when you dive into Love Hard). Buckle up and prepare yourself for a wild, emotional ride. That’s all I’m saying!

Love Harder by Monica James continues her frank and open look at her tragic love affair with love. I really enjoyed Love Hard and was excited when I found out Monica was going to give us more of her love life. We get another very personal journey through all the Mr Wrongs to find her Mr Right and this time it really is her story. Luckily as a romance author she is still a romantic and believes in love. This book is a raw and honest look at trying to find love in the modern era of Dating Apps. She shows that when you’re in love your heart doesn’t always follow what your mind says it should. Will she ever find her Superman?

“Don’t let someone be a priority in your life...when you’re only an option in theirs.”

We read about the four men who each have that something. Ghost, Switzerland, Dimples and Brooklyn all promised they were different but leave her broken hearted. Fortunately they also left her knowing what she wanted and what she deserved. she questions why do men behave this way and say the things you want to hear but then let you down? We follow her through all her experiences, heartache and tears. Monica seems to have really bad luck with relationships, the men aren’t always what they seem and at times she seems to get far more invested in the relationship than they do. Her main problem is when she falls, she falls hard and this leads to her over looking their flaws and any red flags.

I felt the messages between her and Ghost were from the heart and showed the wonderful connection they had. Switzerland was adorable but he was guarded and there was always an expiry date on their relationship. My heart went out for her as she wanted to love him but it was never to be and I felt sad it left her thinking about what they could have been. Monica has so much love to give but finding the right person to give it to was a rollercoaster of a ride. We hit rock bottom with her when she feels she can’t trust another man and that love has broken her. She shows us what it is like to love someone who doesn’t love you back. I felt all her hurt and feelings of betrayal as each relationship broke down.

The support from her friends was amazing and it amused me how often they were as involved as Monica was in the relationship. I loved that we found out who was on the cover with her for this book and Love Hard. Just as she is thinking of giving up on love and ever finding her one, a man unexpectedly appears and changes her life. The Unicorn shows her what a good relationship is like and hopefully all the good signs continue for the couple. As an older reader the trials and tribulations of her using dating apps really fascinated me. It’s an interesting and forthright look at Monica’s experiences of the dating scene and how hard could it be to find the one or even someone who could become that.

No one said love was easy

After reading Love Hard: A Memoir I was unsure where Monica James would take me next in her search for love, LOVE HARDER was so raw and honest she broke my heart. No one said love was easy or filled with constant rainbows, sparkles, and glitter, and Monica's journey definitely wasn't any of these. However, she showed that strength and perseverance can bring that Unicorn that was meant just for her.

Unlike the previous book, I found this one extremely hard to put down. It is an emotional journey, one which has reached the core of my own heart. I cheered for her joy, cried for her heartbreak, and raged at the antics of some of those "so-called" men. She deserved more and she knew it. Monica doesn't hide her vulnerabilities, her devastation, or her sense of loss. Each experience allowed her to grow stronger, reset herself, remind herself she WAS worthy of being loved. Four men, four let downs, four similar experiences, what would number five do with her heart? It only takes one person, one man, one Unicorn, who turns up unexpectedly to show her that love was always waiting for her, but it needed to happen at the right time.

"If a man wants a woman, he makes the effort - period."

Finding love is never easy. When it is found after years of heartache and second guessing, sometimes self-sabotage can rear it's ugly head. Remaining strong, focused, and allowing trust enables growth, understanding, and your heart to heal. Monica's raw, gritty, emotional, and self-educational journey allowed her to do just that. Let's hope it's a happily ever after.

In her own words:
"I wasn't a quitter.
I was tenacious.
And I was a motherf*#king warrior because I would never, ever give up."

She is a warrior, and has a warrior's heart to prove it. She's also vulnerable, has insecurities, but she also has an abundant amount of strength and love. She is a survivor of love.

LOVE HARDER made me laugh (there's more than one reason why he is a unicorn!), certainly made me shed a few tears, but mostly it made me feel compassion and hurt for a woman who want to love and be loved in return.

Unicorn Theory 🦄

After reading Love Hard : A Memoir I knew what to expect of Love Harder - honesty and truth, the open chest heart surgery level and a writing style that I love. Again Z is brave for all of us and her experiences and truths are universal ones. I laughed , almost shouted in frustration a couple of times , lived and breathed Love Harder . It's Z's story but we know the truth - we've all been there and done that . So we all can relate with Z . The Ghost phenomenon is well known all around the world. Even I have a Ghost, Dimples and Brooklyn and they all taught me what not to settle for. Never have a Switzerland in my life and I'm well aware of the Unicorn Theory. When I explained to my bestie what I'm looking for in a partner, she asked am I sure that we're talking about one man . Because according to her that's not possible; that we're talking about a three different men and it's best they don't know about each other. Then I said that it's definitely one man and he's an Unicorn. And I've seen glimpses of him in existence but those weren't available. Yeah, still looking for my Unicorn and while waiting for this meeting to happen I worked on bettering myself. I know what to avoid and what I want. And thanks to Z and Monica James for the online dating experiment, I'll think I'll skip this one . Online illusions are hard to decode so I'm sticking with the real life experience. So since Z found her Unicorn it's not impossible , it's just hard . And Monica James shows us that it has it's struggles too but when you know what you want you put in the work to make it happen and that it's a couples effort. Not one-sided, not half done but couples effort . And that everything in a relationship is a work in progress, always improving. The playlist is a good one . That cover speaks volumes and I loved it that it's reflection on what she found for herself. And now when I read that info about the Love Hard cover I need a reread.
Love Harder is a book for all of us on the love's battle field. There's hope for all of us, just hang in there. And still I can't stop wondering what's in store for Z and her Unicorn.

Thanks to the author and Give Me Books Promotions for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of this book.

Getting back to Monica’s writing was truly like a breath of fresh air. While I enjoy her steamy and dark romance novels, I have to admit that her candid memoir style captivates me even more. I fell hard for this second book from the very first page.

👠 “Once upon a time, I looked at love through rose-tinted glasses because love is meant to conquer all, right? Love was the reason Romeo drank the poison, why Bella sparkled, and why Jack froze to death as Rose sprawled out comfortably on a door big enough for ten and caught some zzz’s.”

It felt akin to listening to Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City, but I could hear Monica’s voice narrate in my head and this “show” was even better—more steam and a lot more of my favorite F-word. The book was addictive, and I couldn’t help but devour it. The best way to experience Monica’s journey through love is with a glass of wine, some popcorn, and maybe some tissues nearby.

👠 “It’s also suggested to read instructions. As it is not to touch something hot as it’ll burn. But here I was, stripping off clothes as I ran toward a raging inferno.”

I liked to think of each chapter as its own episode. I couldn’t put down Ghost’s episode when I first started reading—I even fell for him myself, until he did what he did. My heart ached. I was fooled by each guy, right alongside Monica, and found myself dumbfounded with her more than once. This book perfectly captures how hard love is and how wild relationships can be. With all its raw honesty and vulnerability, I love Monica even more now. Thank you for giving us this book, bestie.

👠 “The universe was holding back, dropping losers in my lap to set the path for this man who killed me slowly with that smile. I hated him already.”

For the guys this book was written about—

𝑮𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒕…you coward! You chose easy and familiar over happiness. Well done, dumbass.
𝑺𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒛𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅…beautiful boy. No hard feelings here.
𝑫𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒔…you motherfucker. Why?? You wasted so much energy. Grow the fuck up.
𝑩𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒍𝒚𝒏…you gave ME the ick, bro. WTF?
𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒏…DON’T break Monica’s heart, my friend. What you both have sounds so beautiful already.

Monica James has been a relatively new to me Author, but she's swiftly joined my list of all time favourites, after having met her at BABE Sydney this year – honestly, take me back, hah!

Just have to mention though, @authormonicajames is not only a gorgeous writer, she is an incredibly beautiful human! Getting to connect and chat with her at Novel and Spice Signing this year was absolutely amazing, and I'm still super grateful for her and her partner coming to my rescue when I was lugging my book haul to the taxi (thank you both again). 🥹

“Love Harder” is every bit as unflinching, fearless, bold, brave and beautiful as you would imagine a memoir about love to be. Monica writes with such honestly, so unfiltered and there were parts where I was low-key cackling at the honesty of the Author describing dating apps and experiences, definitely though the feelings of being ghosted hit waaayyy too close –

Yet, so much of reading “Love Harder” felt so cathartic to read! That Monica had gone through so much heartbreak and sadness, honestly - there were definitely some strong words I found myself internally shouting to those exs of hers – and yet, even when the Author admits that “‘love’ and her hadn't been friends for some time…” –

Yet love isn't always plain in sight, love is messy, kalediscopic, infinite – sometimes I wonder, personally, if love is something bigger than us all? But I know that it is freaking special, and that it should well be the greatest thing that there is…

I think, maybe, @authormonicajames memoir here may have just given me a slight spark, a re-ignition hope to not give up on letting love in - and perhaps that is the best point of review I can make…

Thank you, Monica 💕

Monica James wrote a compelling and raw story that had me on edge at times from how real it was. Love is definitely hard and after reading this book, I find myself feeling lucky that I found my Unicorn early on in my dating life.

I am in awe of the author and her resilience as she navigated each of her relationships. Monica has come out stronger and wiser after each relationship, and despite all the trials and tribulations, she hasn’t closed her heart to love. I can’t say that I would’ve done the same. Monica did not hold back and her honesty in detailing her relationships demonstrated what a true warrior she is.

There were moments during her back and forth with the “men” that I found myself saying “No, don’t do it” like I wanted to knock the phone out of her hands. But Ms. James was tenacious and wasn’t going down without a fight. One thing I share with Monica is that I’m overthinker, and I can only imagine that I would fall down the rabbit holes as well. It was easy for me to say “Nah, girl, I wouldn’t do that,” while I was reading the book, but the reality is, that I just don’t know. I’ve met Monica before at a signing, and she was the sweetest!! So, while I was reading, all I could think was WTF!? These a-holes should be lucky to breathe the same air as her.

Love Harder was an emotional and empowering read. It was quite surprising the raw honesty Monica delivered in her recounting of past relationships. This beautiful human’s unwavering search for love with equal parts confidence and insecurities was inspiring.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.

This book cannot be read until you read Love Hard. This book will pick up right where that one left off. This is a journey of a woman looking for love and finding all the Mr. Wrongs looking for Mr. Right. I think we have all been there, unless you got lucky and married the first and only guy you ever dated. While you are reading this book I can almost promise you that things are going to resonate so strongly with you because we all had to take the journey to find our Prince Charming. It is raw and real and I loved the lessons learned from those who promise they are different and so turn out not to be. The heartbreak. The finding out what you want and how you deserve to be treated and not settling for anything less than that. You will laugh and cry. We've all been though a bad dating spell and have almost been to the point of giving up. To the point where it isn't worth it anymore to put yourself out there. And I'm old, I can't even imagine what it is like to use the dating apps out in the world now. I think those would absolutely scare me to death. I loved that she has amazing friends that are there for her. I know when you have that friend that roots for you and will take your side and sit and be just as offended and heart broken as you are, then you have found your really good friend. Did I mention this story is a little true and little fiction and I loved that about it. Love Harder is honest and real and a book that you do not want to miss.

“I love love… but it seems love doesn’t love me.”

Memoirs aren’t something I enjoy, but Monica James “creative non-fiction” is an interesting take. If you’re looking for a gushy love story, this isn’t it. What you’ll find is heartache, rawness, honesty, and eventually you’ll be introduced to The Unicorn.

You do need to read Love Hard to understand why things are the way they are in Love Harder. That first book I struggled with, but I’m glad to see that those were not in Love Harder. Names were used in this book instead of initials, which made it so much easier to keep track of who everyone was.

It’s hard to review a book that is based loosely off the author’s life. Especially when it’s not just a random author, but rather one you’re familiar with. Not gonna lie, at times I wanted to shake Monica for some of the things she did and let happen. You live and learn, though, and she did… and she grew from those experiences.

“Slay your own dragons; don’t wait for Prince Charming to seep you off your feet.”

This is how I’ve always viewed life – I’m not someone who is looking for love. But I commend those who do go looking and find love.

Psst, do you see that cover?! That’s Monica and The Unicorn!

I truly hope Monica is happy with the 🦄 and that he treats her right because she truly deserves all the happiness in the world.

Format: ebook
Genre: Creative Memoir

“Once upon a time, I looked at love through rose-tinted glasses because love was meant to conquer all right? Love was the reason Romeo drank the poison, why Bella sparkled, and why Jack froze to death as Rose sprawled out comfortably on a door big enough for ten and caught some zzz’s”

Once upon a time, Monica looked at love through rose-tinted glasses because love is meant to conquer all. She was a hopeless romantic chasing her happily ever after. Monica says, as a romance author, you would think she knows what she is doing when it comes to love, but Monica and love aren’t friends and haven’t been for some time. Good men are like hard to find like unicorns, are they out there and will Monica finally have a chance at finding love?

I absolutely loved this book and feel for everything Monica has gone through. Monica chronicles her experiences on love through journal-like entries centred on each boy and the lessons she learned and leaves it open to the reader as a learning experience on what to look out for, or even to know you are not alone out there. Monica goes through lessons and experiences including ghosting, love bombing, bread crumbing, and so much more. But what happens if you happen to find an elusive unicorn?

Monica James's memoir, Love Harder, is a compelling exploration of love, heartache, and personal growth. This book resonates deeply with readers, particularly women, as it captures the raw and often tumultuous experiences that come with navigating relationships.

The writing style is both beautiful and insightful, making it easy to connect with James's journey. Her storytelling is heartfelt, blending moments of joy with the pain of loss, which evokes strong emotional responses from the audience. The memoir is described as a reflection on the complexities of love—highlighting that while love can be a battlefield, it is also a source of profound strength and resilience.

However, while the narrative is engaging, some readers may find certain sections a bit slow-paced before the story picks up momentum. This pacing might challenge those looking for a more consistently fast-paced read. Despite this, the overall message of perseverance in love shines through, making it a worthwhile experience.

In conclusion, Love Harder earns a solid four-star rating for its heartfelt narrative and relatable themes. Monica James successfully invites readers into her world, encouraging them to embrace both the highs and lows of love with open hearts.

"That's not how it works."....."We go together. We leave together."-Love Harder, By Monica James

Whewwwww, sis, what a wild ride. Monica, I commend you, sis. First of all, for staying afloat when dealing with all these boys...cause that's what most were, boys, not men. Except the Unicorn obviously. But not only have you gone through it all but come out the other side so much stronger and more self-aware. I could see the growth as I was reading it. You were so real and vulnerable with us readers. Thank you for sharing this piece of yourself with us.

This was such a journey but through it all Monica shows us that yes love sucks. But sometimes the hurt leads to something or someone spectacular. So you keep going cause you are worth it. You are one kick ass chick Monica James! Keep being a certified bad ass cause we love it and we support you!

Love Harder comes out October 23rd!!! You don't want to miss out on our girls' dating journey to find her Unicorn. 🦄

Wow what a ride that was. Love Harder by M. James is the sequel to Love Hard: a memoir.
The story picks up where the previous book was left off.
An incredible read, raw and gritty and literally unputdownable.
Blurb: Once upon a time, I looked at love through rose-tinted glasses because love is meant to conquer all, right?
However, was I just a hopeless romantic at heart?

That’s not because I don’t believe in love.

We all have that one person.
I’ve learned that good men are like unicorns. Everyone talks about them, but no one actually sees them.

💋 I may be a little bias when it comes to this author because to me she is one of the greats, a true diamond in the rough and I love her to pieces. But come on, this book…THIS BOOK!!! What Taylor Swift does to men in her songs, Monica James has done in her last two memoirs! If they burn you or you burst into flames…write about it as Taylor does. Some of these men you’ll love to hate but then there are the ones that you can’t help but feel the heartbreak with the author. The way she bravely takes you through the personal ins and outs of her love life just charms her audience. She’s so easy to love, so the struggles with finding a lasting love boggles my mind. But along comes ‘The Unicorn’, and not only did he swoon this author but the man bewitched us all. She’s right folks he’s ‘one of a kind’ and made just for her.

We finally got to meet the Unicorn!!! But damn did we have to kiss some frogs to get there! Well maybe not frogs hot tattooed men but those are the most dangerous kinds! 😂

Monica laid out every card she had in this one and bared her soul to tell us her stories in the wicked game we call love! My heart was crushed for her happy for her mad for her and I was on a constant high and low with my emotions. Love is hard enough but when you are an overthinker it can complicate things ten fold. You penned to a t what it is like inside someone’s head when you overthink things and my heart reached out to yours so hard in those parts because I just get it! I think everyone can relate to some part of this book rather you’re single dating married whatever love can be cruel and it can be beautiful! Love Harder will take you on a journey with all of the above and when you least expect it you might just get the rarest form of love after all! A unicorn! 🦄

While reading this real and raw emotional story I found myself in Monica’s shoes because just like her I tend to overthink every aspect of everything and that make life hard and love even harder. She laid it all out on the table for us to see everything she went through to finally find her unicorn and at times it wasn’t easy and definitely not pretty, but the best things in life never are. With real emotions flowing through each page and her heart wrenched open this author shows us that life isn’t like the romance books we love to devour, but it was honest and even in moments where we as readers are shaking our heads screaming noooo don’t do that, well in reality we have all been in those positions in one form or another and it’s easier to say not easy to do in those moments and that makes this relatable. I loved the rawness and honesty she gives us showing us it’s not easy but it does happen especially when we last expect it to.

I loved this book. I was hooked from start to finish. As a human, finding love is like the one thing we all strive for. Many relationships to learn from, good and bad. As another reader said, “you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your Prince Charming”! There couldn’t be a truer saying than that. We’ve all experienced being ghosted, the handsy guy or the one you fall for and he doesn’t return the feelings in that way. It’s all lessons to be learned and gear you up for when the right one finally shows up when you least expect it. I think this story will hit home for a lot of us as most of us have gone through the same thing. I really enjoy reading books like this, it makes me feel like I’ve found my people and we can get through anything. Such an amazing read, this will be one I will be reading again.

Love Hard is the first book that I read by Monica. When I started reading it, I thought that it was a regular book. But when I realised that she was writing her story, I was like “Wow, it takes guts to share her struggles and life story to the whole world to see, judge, speculate and so on.”

I felt like I was living all of those emotions too. And when I started reading Love Harder, I knew what I was walking into. Of course I would’ve done something different than she did regarding something, and it’s perfectly fine, because we are completely different people and have completely different life experiences.

I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it. I’m so happy that Monica has found her happily ever after. I wish you all the best and hope that everything works out the way you want to. Bless you, you amazing and strong woman. 🫶

First off, read Love Hard first before even thinking about reading this one.

If you love Love Hard, you will absolutely devour Love Harder.

These books are nothing like Monica's other works because they are both non-fiction memoirs. And what I mean by that is these stories are based on her journey through the world of dating and falling in love.

Love Harder is a diary of what happens to the FMC when Love Hard ended. It's her chaotic walk through online dating, the interesting men she meets and all their mannerisms. Some you will like, some you will want to knee in the nuts for causing harm to our FMC.

I was completely immersed in this story and had to know how each interaction went and all the in-betweens. This story occurs over many months. Does our FMC get her HEA? You'll have to read to find out.

The writing that Monica James is doing here may be the most epic girl boss move I've seen in quite some time.

Following Love Hard, we dive deeper into James' ever evolving search for love. Until now, we've seen her search for love in all of the wrong places while being so vulnerable you think you're part of her inner-circle.

This book will make you feel like you belong. Like maybe you aren't the only one who has a past that pulls a cringe to your face sometimes. I consistently wanted to reach out and hug her while simultaneously throwing a throat punch to some of her love interests.

Here's to being vulnerable and pushing through insecurities to make others feel less alone in the world. We're all just trying to survive, and maybe feel a little loved along the way.

Incredibly impowering to read!
Monica James has given us the second piece to her memoir, and I not only devoured but I loved the first book Love Hard, this on Love Harder gives us so much more of Monica and her strength and will to find the perfect kind of love. Its ok to face heartbreak and ignore certain signs because you want to feel that vulnerability and have a connection with someone. We get so much more of Monica in this book that I felt her story in my heart. She experiences heart ache, but never gave up on her search to find love and I would like to thank her Unicorn cause love really is something possible.
Thank you, Monica, for sharing something so deep and passionate with your readers!

This beautiful, raw memoir takes you on the author’s deeply personal journey through love and heartbreak. As a romance writer, she reflects on her relationships, sharing moments of vulnerability and resilience while searching for her "unicorn"—the perfect love. Despite past disappointments, her hope never fades. Her honest and witty storytelling, full of relatable moments, makes this book hard to put down. She reminds us that love is unpredictable, often hitting us when we least expect it, but it's worth holding onto. This memoir feels like a rollercoaster of emotions, capturing the highs and lows of love. It’s an inspiring, heartfelt read encouraging you to believe in your own "happily ever after."

✍️ Memoir part 2

This is part 2 of Monica Memoir series and she has more advice to give. This is the sort of book that everyone needs when they have a break up or see red flags in a guy or girl or just some inspiration not to give up. I don't know how she done but I can hear Monica in my head when she brings the banter with the wisdom. Here one of many samples:

"For those of you who aren’t familiar with dating apps, they’re all pretty much the same—window-shopping but for humans. Humans for a night or humans for a lifetime—it’s your call."

It feels like you big sister is talking to you. I love the nicknames she gives her past dates and they each have a chapter and her Unicorn has the final chapter...no spoilers on how she got him 🦄

I am happy that one of my fav authors found her unicorn and finally get to say "happily ever after"
You can read this anytime of the year and it is like a comfort blanket that you are not alone on LOVE it will happen do not worry ♥️

Love Harder by @authormonicajames

I love Monica’s writing, reading her thoughts and conversations throughout her dating experiences was so relatable.

The world of online dating for people in their 30s is not easy 😅

This was raw, honest and heartbreaking at times but i love that we got to see her find her Unicorn!

As they say, sometimes you find someone when you least expect it.

The cover is also 🔥🔥🔥

If you are looking for something that is more real life romance but still a journey of finding love, i highly recommend this one!!!

Thank you so much @authormonicajames for letting me read it early 🫶

I was patiently awaiting this book after Love Hard. The fact that we get the "Unicorn" chapter in this book is the cherry on top. Which of course, I loved reading about the unicorn. I love that Monica has Darby in her life and they are living in the moment.

It was intriguing to read about the other men that were briefly in Monica's life. Each one that came into her life, were not all bad. Even the ones that ghosted her, showed Monica that she deserved better and when you least expect it, love will walk into your life.

Sometimes you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your Prince Charming!
