The story is another great beginning to a new series by the amazing Ms. Delta James. I will say this upfront, she did take artistic liberties with the Romanov family—the history, and the fascinating inclusion of adding the infamous Fabergé eggs that were part of the Tzar’s family. The story will have Viktor Romanov, billionaire, dominant, and new owner of the Carriage House, and Emerson Ravenel, joint owner of Ravenel Reliance. From their first meeting, the chemistry is powerful and Emerson isn’t sure how she feels about that.
“She left with the sense that she’d willing just walked into his web.”
What a fascinating tale of two people meeting and connecting. Emerson isn’t one to date, she is so wrapped up in the business, and her sisters. But it seems her sisters haven’t allowed life to pass them by, as Emerson will soon learn. What starts as an invitation to an event that Emerson can’t snub, trying to avoid Oliver Toney, and sharing a private dance on the balcony with Viktor Romanov, who has her thrown out of her comfort zone. When Viktor continues to pursue her, she thinks maybe she can scratch and itch and be done—oh how wrong she is. Viktor takes her out of her comfort zone and into a highly erotic state, teaching her the pleasures of dominance and submission. Emerson has never experienced a D/s relationship but takes to it like a duck to water. That isn’t to say that she doesn’t have her moments, tries to top from the bottom, and the more that they are together, the more she learns that it isn’t a passing fancy for Viktor, she is it for him.
Viktor: There; it is done. You are mine. Emerson: A collar? Aren’t you kind of supposed to ask if I am okay with that? Viktor: I do not ask. I take what I want, and I want you.
“She wondered if they had a twelve-step program for recovering submissives, and then realized she was beyond help.”
Emerson: I’m not going to let you control me like this, Viktor. I deserve to know what’s going on. Viktor: I will always be in control, which is how you want it to be. I will tell you what I feel you need to know and remain safe. You will have to trust me. Emerson: Trust you? How can I trust you when I think you’re hiding things from me? Viktor: This is not just about you, Emerson. There are things at play here you don’t understand. Emerson: Then make me understand. Viktor: Some secrets are too dangerous to share. Emerson: You can’t keep me in the dark, Viktor. Not if you want this to work. Viktor: There is no if between us. You will trust me, and that’s final. Emerson: It doesn’t work that way. Viktor: It does for me. Trust me, Emerson. Just know that I will never move against you or your sisters. Emerson: I don’t know if I can. Viktor: You will.
The story has the good, the bad, and the ugly of people. I liked the characters, their chemistry, and their passion. The story does have scenes in and out of the BDSM club, The Carriage House, and includes explicit scenes, all consensual. It was especially fun to see Fitzwallace and JJ again. The story does not end on a cliffhanger, but a segue into the next story in the series.
Another fabulous book. Viktor begins the Carriage House branch of Cerberus investigation and protective services (home-based in London for those newbies out there). Holy wow, Viktor certainly would be described as dominating and controlling. He certainly knows how to use it to his utmost advantage, and quite frankly, Emerson's as well. She is not one to relinquish control - ever. As the eldest of the 3 sisters, it's fallen to her, repeatedly, to ensure everything is taken care of (including her sisters themselves). These two clash heads, yet Viktor maintains his dominant stance. Will Emerson learn to yield to his practiced lead?
I must say, it doesn't look promising, as Emerson repeatedly flies off the handle with minimal information, making accusations and charges she can't substantiate. Her immaturity shown in these actions does draw into question Viktor's total fascination with her. Yes, she apologized, but it felt contrite and insincere, yet he accepted it. (Heck no!) My premonition became confirmed by the end when she was in no way - ever - going to forgive him for a transgression that was no larger than those she gerself made. Childish much Emerson? Why can't these guys find women who are emotionally worthy of them? Seriously Delta.... help them!!
I received this book as a gift and volunteered this review. Definately recommend reading it, as well as the other Cerberus series books - they're AMAZING!! Happy Reading Y'all 📚
Viktor Romanov was the great-great grandson of the last Tzar, with his Russian family first fleeing to Europe, then when Hitler took over, to London. He was rumored to have ties to CIA, MI-6, Cerberus and sources of illicit income from illegal imports or the Russian Mafia… a billionaire, who bought the notorious Carriage House in Charleston, formerly owned by Damon Knox… On attending a gala which he only went to because Cerberus head Fitzwallace and his wife JJ were attending, he met Emerson Ravenel, the head of Ravenel Reliance, who along with her sisters Kendra and Tegan ran the best art, antiquities, jewel and artifact authentication business in the world. She was attending gala as guest of Oliver Toney, a man accused some shady dealings, but gave their company a lot of business. He got handsy, so she escaped to the patio, and Viktor followed… wanting to get better acquainted with the woman he couldn't stop staring at… but would she fall for Viktor's brand of seduction and dominance… you will need to read this riveting story to see what happens… I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Wow ! Viktor and Emerson’s story was a mixture of bdsm and Russian history. The mixture shouldn’t work, but Emerson being an antiquities authenticator and Victor being a Russian Master, owner of The Carriage House bdsm club, it does! The storyline, the characters ( a mix of new and old JJ & Fitzwallace of Cerberus make a cameo) all come together in a well written, sexy hot story. I don’t normally read contemporary romance, but I make an exception for Delta James ! 5✨’s . I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was a steamy first look into the Carriage House series by Delta James. Viktor owns a BDSM club, and his first glance of Emerson he knows she's his. Their story is fast-paced. The scenes are hot and heavy. Viktor is possessive, which is exactly what Emerson needs. Their relationship is shown in great detail, which grants the reader an understanding of the dynamic between the two. I can't wait for the next book!

I struggled with this one just a bit. There was definitely more going on that needed to be focused on. Even so , the romance/ steamy atmosphere was still very there!
A spicy BDSM romance with a good sprinkle of suspense!
This is a fun, pretty quick read (it's not too long, so a nice afternoon read!). Emerson is a fun character! She's good at her job and is working on building up her business with her sisters, when she meets an enigmatic billionaire Viktor. I do like how she doesn't just rush into things and still maintains her personality throughout the story. I like how she made him work for it. Viktor is an interesting character and I'd love to learn more about some of his escapades. He knows what he wants and he wants Emerson, so he introduces her to the lifestyle.
There's little suspense in the grand scheme of this story, but it is sprinkled about nicely.
This story steamy times with kink involved (scenes, public, punishment), if that's not your jam, find a different story to enjoy. It also sets up for the next book in the series with Emerson's sister, Kendra.
This is a story with references to other characters/places within the world created by the author. You do not have to read the other stories to be given enough background to understand this book. It can be enjoyed as a standalone, but I do recommend reading the other ones because they are just as fun as this one!

"Viktor" by Delta James is an enthralling dive into a world where luxury and danger walk hand in hand. The novel follows Emerson Ravenel, a savvy expert in artifacts, as she navigates the opulent yet perilous social circles of Charleston's elite. Owning Ravenel Reliance with her sisters, Emerson's life takes a dramatic turn upon meeting Viktor Romanov, a billionaire with a mysterious past and commanding presence.
From the first encounter, Viktor's allure is irresistible, drawing Emerson into a passionate and complex affair. Delta James skillfully portrays the sizzling chemistry between the characters, setting their romance against the sumptuous backdrop of high-society events and the exclusive lifestyle club, The Carriage House. The narrative delves deep into themes of power, trust, and the price of love, offering readers a compelling blend of romance and suspense.
Viktor Romanov is the quintessential dark hero—ruthless in business and enigmatic in his personal life. His character is a fascinating study of contrasts: the billionaire who commands respect and the man haunted by his past. Emerson’s journey from professional dedication to personal vulnerability is equally captivating. Her strength and independence make her a relatable heroine, even as she grapples with the dangers lurking around her.
The plot thickens with the theft of a priceless Fabergé egg, thrusting Emerson into a web of jealousy and deceit. Delta James excels in creating tension, keeping readers on the edge of their seats as Emerson and Viktor's relationship is tested by external threats and internal conflicts. The mystery surrounding Viktor's past and the challenges they face add depth to their story, making the stakes incredibly high.
The novel’s pacing is brisk, with each chapter unveiling new twists and secrets. The backdrop of Charleston and the luxurious settings are vividly described, immersing readers in a world that is as glamorous as it is perilous. The secondary characters, particularly Emerson's sisters, add richness to the story, providing a sense of family and loyalty that contrasts with the treacherous social circles they navigate.
"Viktor" is more than just a romance; it's a tale of trust, resilience, and the transformative power of love. Delta James weaves a narrative that is both intense and deeply emotional, leaving readers to ponder whether love can truly overcome the darkest of secrets.
I'm eagerly awaiting the next book.

Viktor is book #1 in The Carriage House, a new series by Delta James. This world is connected to Club Southside, set in Chicago. There is another series, Mercenary Masters, that is also related. (As a Delta James reader, i hate to admit that I haven’t read that series yet, something I plan to correct ).
DJ has several open series; it amazes me that she keeps her storylines separate and distinct as she does.
Is ‘Viktor’ steamy? Yes! Is Viktor an unabashed, unrepentant Alpha? Absolutely! Is Emerson, his leading lady, gorgeous, intelligent, resourceful, independent? Of course she is! (This IS a Delta James story!). Do Viktor or Emerson make the choices or react as I would? Not so much… but that’s ok; it’s a story. And I love that I can peek at a world that will never be mine, that I can enjoy from the safety & comfort of my lounge chair. While their choices are not mine, and don’t always even thrill their partner, you can sense the underlying love and loyalty. That love is what convinces each of them to hold on, even when they disagree. And they DO disagree! I don’t know anyone that would put up with Viktor’s Alpha-ness, but who doesn’t want to be loved like that???
But it’s not just about the steam. (Did I mention it was steamy?)
There is a story here, that’s interesting enough that I was immediately pulled into it. Love that! Supporting characters, who, I’m sure we’ll see again, are folks I look forward to getting to know better. There is a bad guy that I’m sure we’ll see again. Also, there’s a mystery thread that I sense will carry thru the series, also intriguing. Cant’t wait!
Visit a ‘new’ world, courtesy of Delta James. You probably don’t live there; you might decline to if a real-world choice ever comes up. But visit if you can; it’ll be an adventure!

This is a scorching start to a new series and while I was a tiny bit disappointed that the Club Southside series had not focused more on the D/s relationships between the main characters, this book more than makes up for that. Viktor is a man that needs control both in and out of the bedroom and he knows there’s something different about Emerson that he wants to explore beyond a night in his bed. He’s not shy about sharing exactly what he plans for her and the intensity of her response to him rattles her to the core. Yet, Viktor is a man accustomed to getting what he wants and he has Emerson agreeing to be his sub before the day is done. I loved the fact that Emerson wasn’t a complete pushover though and that she wasn’t afraid to question Viktor every chance she got. As a newbie to the kink scene, the whole experience must have been overwhelming and though Viktor sensed her need to let someone take the reins, I loved him all the more for not taking things too fast. Despite her reservations, I have to give Emerson credit for her willingness to surrender and give Viktor control. But after admonishing Emerson for her lack of trust and wanting her to turn to him when she had any doubts, it was kind of ironic that he was willing to think the worst of her and believe in her betrayal. The unexpected villain didn’t seem to fit the rest of the story (not to mention the mad reasons for doing what they did), plus I’d already pegged Oliver Toney as the greatest threat. I loved the link to Cerberus as Fitzwallace and JJ make a cameo appearance to tempt Viktor to join their team. And while I felt Viktor’s attempt to get back in Emerson’s good graces was a bit of a half-assed gesture and thought he should have groveled more, it seemed Emerson was more forgiving and wanted him back. Viktor Romanov has the blood of the tsars in his veins, as his great grandmother was the missing child of the tsar during the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia. He lives and works in Charleston, South Carolina. As does the Ravenel sisters, who inherited their parent’s little ‘empire’ of Ravenel Reliance. Each sister has a major part to play as they each have a sector of the empire that they are extremely good at. They are Emerson, Kendra and Tegan. The empire is the foremost authority on art, artifacts, antiquities and jewels in the world and they are making the empire larger. Kendra handles the fashionista section. Oliver Toney is causing problems for the sisters, especially Emerson, whom he wants. At one black tie event, Viktor sees her and he is entranced by her. Viktor is ex special forces (Brits) and has ties to many, many things. He has taken over the Carriage House which had been Damon Knox’s BDSM elite club. He is the quintessential Dom and he wants Emerson. But so does Toney. Viktor and Emerson are drawn to each other and things get scary, hot and heavy and there are loads of misunderstandings for them to get thru. Both are extremely headstrong, but the key to a relationship is communication, and both of them need help on that front. I yelled while reading the book a few times from getting so engrossed in it. The books in these series, are not just sex and BDSM. There is a storyline and I love that. I was uncomfortable for some of it, but it did teach me a lot about misconceptions about that lifestyle. I can’t wait to see what happens with the sisters and the other characters therein. I received this advance rereading copy for free and an voluntarily leaving this review.
I did not like Emerson. She was supposedly strong, intelligent, and independent. To me, she appeared to be indecisive, immature, emotional, and incapable of having a conversation. It will be interesting to read Kendra's story. So far, Tegan seems to be the most sensible, rational sister.
I thought she was somewhat of a hypocrite. On 2 separate occasions, she accused Viktor of things with no substantiating proof, did not attempt to find out what was going on, and she ran away. He made a similar mistake and she felt that what he did was unforgivable. They did have chemistry as a couple, and there was a fair amount of heat. Emerson just didn't seem to be able to communicate about some of the important things.
I did like that Fitz and Cerebus appeared in the book. I would have liked more detail about Viktor's background with the letter/number agency. I was also confused about the housekeeper situation. Then there was Toney with the big back energy. For him to come at Emerson like he did, I expected more to have happened with that before the resolution.
It felt like there were a number of issues in the book that were started and either not finished, resolved out of the blue, or didn't provide enough detail. The book started out kind of slow, and then picked up nicely. I would say the last 75% - 80% of the book was full of suspense and had me holding my breath at times. The way Viktor and Emerson's story ended was a little disappointing. I would give this book 3.5 stars.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via BookSirens.
I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I usually enjoy Delta James’ books. I had problems with both of the main characters. Emerson struck too good to be true. She knows nothing about BDSM and has no idea how a sub should behave, yet in one of their earliest meetings, he has her standing naked in examination position (if we’re going to be Gorean. about it), and then calls another job into the room to talk to him, and Emerson takes it quite calmly and joins the conversation. No embarrassment, no shyness, no indication that this is anything out of the ordinary. It does not ring true to me. And as for Viktor, he supposed to be an experience Dom who runs the BDSM club. But he has trouble with the concept of consensual, which is the heart of a BDSM relationship. he thinks about whether he’ll put permanent decorations (read piercings) on Emerson‘s nipples, even though they’ve never discussed whether that is something that is something that is OK with her. He tells her he’ll only allow her a few hard limits. And he rings concessions out of her (this comes from the free bonus scene that you get if you sign up for the newsletter) because he finds it negotiations are best carried out either while spanking her or having sex with her, when in consensual BDSM such negotiations are always carried out in a discussion held with clothing on. There is a difference between being a Dom and being domineering. I couldn’t get past Vicktor’s domineeringness, or Emerson’s magical transformation into the perfect sub, to enjoy the good things about this book. And there were good things. The book was well written, and the sex was hot. But that wasn’t enough for me this time.

Leaves a lot to be desired. Delta James book Viktor is the first in the new Carriage House series. It is a 211 page book that reads fast and disappoints just as fast. Viktor is supposed to be a love story rapped in a mystery surrounded by the D/s lifestyle. If you have read Ms. James other series, Mercenary Masters and Club Southside, you'll find this is a continuation of D/s Lifestyles Clubs. You may also feel that the portrayal of the Doms have gotten more demeaning and humiliating in their attitudes towards their subs who they are supposed to have fallen completely in love with. In this book, that aspect has gone over the top. There are also actions that made me shake my head. Twice Emerson jumps to wrong conclusions concerning Viktor. After she is shown she made a mistake She apologizes, but is punished by Viktor with a humiliating act. Viktor jumps to a wrong conclusion obviously not having learned anything from Emerson's mistakes. I also dislike that all the women in these series cave so easily to men making them do things that polite society would not condone. Subs seem to give their own control over the the MMC with very little effort and in such a shortened timeline. I am probably jaded since I have read all the related series centering around the lifestyle but I sincerely feel that this book takes it to a whole new demeaning level. For a love story there doesn't seem to have much love. There are quite a few typos and some continuity issues. I borrowed this book from KU and do recommend it, just be aware it might make you cringe and shake your head at the FMC.
What an excellent start to a new series by Ms.James. I, for one, am excited that it is set against the background of a BDSM club. The author's knowledge of BDSM shines through, making the scenes stand out in an authentic way. This is Victor and Emerson’s story that is set against the backdrop of The Carriage House, a private and exclusive club that Viktor owns. Emerson has no interest in relationships until one dance with Viktor sets off a chain reaction with intense chemistry that couldn't be denied. Both Viktor and Emerson are surprised as neither was looking for a arelationship. For someone who had never experienced a D/S relationship, Emerson was a natural. I liked both Emerson and Viktor and enjoyed the sensual scenes between them. Emerson had the weight of the world on her shoulders, and she needed to be strong, especially after Viktor made a monumental mistake. He did redeem himself, but he had to grovel. I also thought he was too harsh when trying to get Emerson to open up to him so that he could stop a situation that would destroy her and her sister's company.
Considering their history with relationships, I was surprised at how quickly Viktor and Emerson connected in such a dynamic way. Emerson was confused at her response to Viktor as she was always in control. Viktor was powerful, aloof, and craved control but Emerson knocked his socks off. The inclusion of the Fabergê Eggs was fascinating . I hope to see more of Fitzwallace and JJ in future books as they were step back in time that I truly enjoyed.
Captivating read that you are going to thoroughly enjoy, great characters and scenario This is the first book in this new series and I guarantee that you will enjoy this introduction and then like myself will be left looking forward to reading and reviewing the second book in this series. Viktor and Emmerson is an instant attraction which quickly developed into love and it has an excellent amount of romance, It had a hot and kinky sex filled story that is set within the Mercenary Masters Club and am sure you will find this intriguing. There is an instance of mystery and suspense that has a great deal of hot and kinky moments that are described within the club environment and also outside the club and I guarantee that you will find yourself totally captivated by these moments and will be interested to see if they are able to find a settled happiness which makes you hope they will remain an item and stay happy and content in their relationship. I am looking forward to the next book in this series and will be looking forward to discover if stronger, Emerson and Viktor’s relationship has grown and if they have also met with more of their family members and how has their love life been growing and developing and are they continuing to develop their love life. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.
This is a very hot, fast-moving story with adult kink, a mystery and some suspense. Emerson and her younger sisters are art and antiquity experts, who inherited their private company in Charleston from deceased parents. Emerson meets the owner of the Carriage House BDSM private club at a social gathering. Sparks turn to flames. He introduces her to the lifestyle and they discover deep feelings for each other. Both Emerson and Viktor also find themselves dealing with people with dark intentions as their relationship quickly develops. The story can be read as a standalone, but having read some of the Club Southside books will help to provide background for the Cerberus Security Organization and a few characters that appear in this book. The final chapter is a peek at the next sister’s story. I did downgrade one star because Emerson is introduced as the sister who is focused on business, the company’s business reputation and who dresses more conservatively than her sisters. Her quick leap into the BDSM world (including public nudity and sex acts) and rapidly putting aside her concerns about Viktor’s possible criminal activities were jarring with that characterization. Then again, it’s fiction! I received an advance copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Intrigue, angst, steam and first book of series The character Viktor Romanov is intriguing. Is he part of the Bratva? Admits he has done black ops and has previously been in UK’s MI-6. He hedges when asked if he was the legendary Le Revenant. His great-great-grandmother was the elusive Anastasia Romanov in hiding. He definitely has connections. So, who is he? Right now, he is part owner of the BDSM exclusive Charleston, SC club named Carriage House and well known for his exploits in that lifestyle. At a gala he sees a most beautiful woman trying to get away from someone he knows and not much likes. He comes to Emerson Ravenel’s rescue and begins an attraction that he cannot deny but she is far from his normal submissive. She had to research what BDSM was! Lots of give-and-take in this relationship. They deal with trust issues and more. Highly entertaining. Grabbed my attention immediately. I like reading that kind of book. If you like a steamy romance in the BDSM lifestyle, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through BookSirens. The cover model used for Viktor is perfect too!
This book is mostly about BDSM. It is steamy and at times confronting. It is the first book of the new series about Carriage House. I loved that we saw JJ and Fitz again.
Viktor Romanov is a billionaire and the new owner of Carriage House.
Emerson Revenel part owns Revenel Reliance with her younger sisters Kendra and Tegan. Their parents were killed in a motor vehicle accident, but Emerson believes they were murdered.
Viktor and Emerson have an instant attraction to each other. There are some hot steamy scenes which Delta James shines at writing.
I enjoyed this book, but I felt there were many things left up in the air. What happened to Oliver Toney? Did he produce a forgery? Where the Revenel parents murdered or was it a tragic accident? Did Oliver Toney have something to do with it if they were? What about the housekeeper? What happened to her? I guess we might find out in the next book.

Emerson Ravenel and her sisters are the proprietors of a successful business that caters to the rich and famous from all over the world. She has been invited to a fundraising gala sponsored by some the Charleston's elite, an event she would rather not attend. Viktor Romanov is one of the elite members of high society in Charleston and new owner of The Carriage House, and exclusive BDSM club. He is also attending the gala but is only there in order to see an old friend who is visiting from overseas. When he sees Emerson at the gala he knows only one thing; he wants to make her submissive, and he always gets what he wants. Absolutely wonderful characters that are realistically portrayed and engaging. I loved the fact that Viktor only planned on a temporary relationship with Emerson, but quickly realizes that he wants forever. Sizzling hot BDSM play, suspense, some exciting action, and unexpected twist in the plot, and a happily ever after. I highly recommend this book to fans of this author and of this genre.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Sexy and steamy! When Viktor sees Emerson at the gala he recognizes her as his. Emerson had no previous experience with the D/s lifestyle, and Viktor takes his role as her Dom seriously. Emerson isn’t 100% sure his attention is anything more than a casual dalliance, but Viktor quickly updates her viewpoint.
The relationship/interactions between Emerson and Viktor are steamy and intense, quickly going from meeting to fully engaged in a D/s contract. Despite the intensity of their connection, trust between them doesn’t develop overnight and causes some friction in their relationship. Their accusations and distrust of each other was a little frustrating. Emmerson was very argumentative and not very willing to submit to Viktor - she pretty much faught against him the entire book.
This begins a new Cerberus series in a new location The Carriage House in Charleston SC. Several new characters, and special appearances by JJ and Fitzwallace.
I’m interested to see where this series will take us.

For readers who enjoy a little D/S, a healthy dose of suspense, and a sprinkle of Russian history to add to the intrigue, then VIKTOR, by author Delta James should be your next romance purchase! As always, author James gives her readers compelling characters in whom they can become hopelessly invested and story subplots that will keep them turning pages long after they'd planned to stop reading. VIKTOR is the rich Russian businessman, “a part of Charleston’s elite” who seduces the artifact and antiques expert, Emerson Ravenel. He takes their passionate affair into the alluring world of power, luxury, and desire kindled by the lifestyle club, The Carriage House. Add a dash of Cerberus to the mix of Victor’s past and present, and readers win the prize of a stellar suspense-filled romance! VIKTOR is for mature readers due to the erotic nature of the lifestyle club but earns a 5+STAR recommendation! I volunteered to read an ARC copy of VIKTOR and this is my voluntary 5-STAR review. Get your copy of VIKTOR, today! 😉
This was one steamy novel! Viktor Romanov is the owner of The Carriage House, a private BDSM club and Emerson Ravenel is an expert in antiquities and part owner, along with her two sisters, of Ravenel Reliance. She had to be at a gala for business and caught the attention of Viktor, who was determined to claim her. He introduced her to the BDSM world at his club and she found it interesting and decided to try it.
There are secrets he is keeping from her about his business life, and she is keeping secrets from him regarding her business. Viktor used his dominance and severe punishment to get her to finally reach her breaking point and disclose her secret. Too bad she couldn't whip him to submission to give up his!
The book held my attention from the beginning to the end. It has intrigue, violence, romance, and a happily ever after.

Career-focused Emerson Ravenel owns a business with her two sisters that authenticates valuable antiquities. When she meets Viktor Romanov, a billionaire who owns The Carriage House, an exclusive lifestyle club in Charleston, S.C., her attraction to the intriguing dominant is instant – and mutual. Viktor is determined to have her, but Emerson knows he’s keeping secrets and that doesn’t set well with her.
Viktor doesn’t so much try to woo and win her as to simply claim her, but their initial chemistry grows into something promising and powerful. It’s the theft of a priceless Faberge egg that seeds distrust and a sense of betrayal, ripping the relationship apart and throwing Emerson into danger. Viktor redeems himself by first rescuing Emerson, then groveling appropriately to win her back. The book is an enjoyable mix of romance/passion and suspense.

Emerson Ravenel and her sisters have been running the family business ever since their parents were killed in an accident. While attending a gala one night (under social duress!) she meets Viktor Romanov, handsome, powerful, and part owner of the kink club, Carriage House.
Viktor is not sure why the redhead he sees at the gala has caught his attention. Fitzwallace cautions that JJ won't be happy if Viktor hurts Emerson, but he doesn't intend to do anything to her she doesn't want done. Of course, he is sure she doesn't know what she wants and he will be happy to help her out. After one dance, though, she walks out on him but leaves her shoes behind. Shades of Cinderella!
Will the aloof Dom be able to tame his chosen submissive? Will the hard-working, determined head of Revenel Reliance be able to let someone else have control over her life and happiness? Read the book and find out. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
This is part of the Carriage House series. Emerson and Victor's story. From his appearance at the end of Damon's story, I had high hopes for Victor's story and will admit, he didn't quite live up to those expectations. He was a jerk to put it nicely. He decided he wanted Emerson but just as a plaything for a time.
Emerson is one of the best and strongest female characters the author has written. She's a tough, strong, take nothing off of anyone, and won't deal with the misogynist attitudes. By the end even though they both love each other, Viktor has to grovel. Emerson wins the day.
While the story starts off a bit slow, it does pick up. The fact that Emerson has two sisters means their story and what really happened with their parents will continue. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved this start to a new series. The author has returned to her roots (sort of, lol) with BDSM and the clubs being at the forefront. Emerson is a young woman who has a lot of responsibility in her life. When she meets Viktor, he takes over her life with her consent. He gives her a quick education about the tenets of the lifestyle, and then they fall in love, but they do not trust each other yet. JJ and Fitz from Cerberus show up, and Fitz is working to recruit Viktor to run a branch of Cerberus in Charleston. Of course, there is a bad guy to overcome, but most of the book is Viktor and Emerson.
I liked the book even though it is an insta-love story. There is a lot of interaction between Viktor and Emerson, and Viktor is a bit of a butt, but he's a good dom. I liked the return to BDSM and look forward to reading the following books with her sisters, Tegan and Kendra.
I thought this book was good. It’s not very long so it’s a pretty quick read. It includes multiple scenes from the BDSM lifestyle club, Carriage House, so it may not be for some readers. I thought the scenes were tastefully done. The characters were well developed and it was nice to see JJ and Fitz from previous books. There was quite a bit of suspense, drama, and emotion. At times Viktor was not very likeable, and was too quick to doubt Emerson after demanding complete trust from her. His stunt at the end of the book seemed a bit juvenile and not up to what you would expect from a man of his capabilities; however, Emerson’s sisters helped him come up with the idea, so that helps explains it. I think the book was a good start to a new series and I am looking forward to the next one. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A passionate, intense, of the chart steamy or rather spice on steroids start to a new series storyline set in the BDSM world in true Delta style. Emerson was very much drawn into Victor's lifestyle, a dominant sexual brute/dom with a Russian Imperial family history, though she had some misgivings. Then came an anonymous email, a magnificent family heirloom theft leading to a kidnapping which nearly destroyed all trust. Loved the crossovers of characters from a previous book as well as the tight relationship with her sisters, Kendra and Tegan. My only complaint or disappointment was the rather bland/unromantic ending though it's a HEA ending. Delta gave the non BDSM practicing readers a lot of insight. I hope this will be a new series with the Carriage House as another base for Cerberus.
This is the story of Viktor and Emerson. He is a Romanov with royal history behind him including wealth, secrets, dominance, and a new attraction to Emerson. She knows what goes on at the Carriage House and has hidden interest of exploring it further. But, she has 2 younger adult sisters and responsibilities. Yet her attraction to Viktor is like nothing she has ever experienced.
This story is fast paced, with a mystery to be solved. I don’t want to say too much because I want you to enjoy the wild ride that includes many twists, turns and surprises around many corners.
Great vacation or holiday read. Sit down and enjoy.
Happy Reading📖🌻
