Aliyah is a secretly powerful mage always worked hard to avoid wishing for things, because her most heartfelt wishes have a habit of coming true. When her long-suppressed magic flares to life during the full moon, she's surprised to find that the giant stuffed terry bear her long-distance paramedic boyfriend sent her is not only able to move, but is also able to transform into a man... one who exists exclusively for her comfort and pleasure, in whatever form of pleasure she desires. *** Teddy is the story if a woman who ends up carnally enjoying her stuffed bear in many indecent and graphic ways. Heh, well it’s spicy and has its kink. I enjoyed it. Great for in between reads or in tandem with another book as it’s more mindless fun. Some editing errors but, given the type of story, didn’t hurt it as a whole. Recommend for a quick, fun and feisty read.
I actually enjoyed this so much more than I thought I would! Allya is not shy when it comes exploring...... So when her boyfriend gives her a giant teddy bear......let's just say she acts upon her wild fantasies. And gets a lot more than what she bargained for. Looking forward to reading Teddy's Embrace, the next book in the series.
When Aliyah's boyfriend is out of town for work he send her a teddy bear. See Aliyah is a very sexual person so she um...uses the bear for fun. She's wishing things that the bear can do and all of a sudden said bear comes to life. Now Teddy, the bear/human, is here to please Aliyah.
The plot sounds crazy I know but I swear the story was actually spicey AF and adorable. Teddy is so sweet. I really enjoyed this one.
This marks the first time I have given a sentient object romance a five-star review! I know, right?!
When Christina Mattingly says Teddy is the story if a woman who ends up carnally enjoying her stuffed bear in many indecent and graphic ways. There were lies detected, but once I finished, I can tell you that there were no lies found! She used Teddy the way that I think we all would (No? Just me?) if we had a giant life-sized Teddy Bear available to us.
More than that though, this was story was altogether sweet! Aliyah is a mage and didn't necessarily mean to bring the teddy bear to life, but once she did it was game over. The cute and cuddly teddy bear made her realize that she deserved better. Her boyfriend was kind of a tool and yes, I guess you could consider this "cheating", but I have zero qualms with that because it is fiction.
Anyways...
This was a banging read from start to finish and I was so bummed when it ended, but from what I hear there is a part two out there that delivers just as much as this one did.
Overall reco: I've read quite a few 'erotica novellas and I have to say, the story for this was one of the best I've read so far. I was actually interested in the story and what was going on, and shit. I'm going to read the next book, because I kind of want to know more, I'm interested. It didn't felt like it took itself to seriously and the open door was so good. So good. It's hard to review these books because they are so subjective. Like I might enjoy the craziness to the kinks (and it was.. kinky) but not everyone might. Shit the idea of doing those things with a stuffie might not be fun for someone. If thats the case, don't yuk the yum and move on. If you think thats kind of hot then I can't recommend this enough.
OMG what did I just read! Okay I live for unhinged books like this. My coworker absolutely loves when I tell her these stories so I can handle crazy sh!t but what? The magic element of this story threw me for a loop but I guess a teddy that comes to life has to have a source on how that fantasy can be lived out. LOL! props to the author for using another fun smut book in this one. I don't know why but I loved that detail.
This is one of those *for science* reads, one of reads that I’d probably never admit to almost anyone, ever. You just read it for the experience of saying that you did in fact read that book about a teddy bear. 👀 🥸
Minus some grammatical errors, it’s written well and flows nicely.
Points for creativity! I genuinely enjoyed reading this, it was a fairly stress free, sweet and spicy novella. The ending was a bit rushed, but still good.
It’s a sentient object romance about a Teddy bear that gains sentience; keep expectations reasonable and simply enjoy the story offered.
I love a quick smutty read and this new to me author delivered. I didn't want to read it just in case it scared me, however it was well written and just all out a fun read
A teddy bear bought for her as a gift from her boyfriend comes alive and basically worships and will do anything for her. I'm not sure I loved the main character, which was part of my problem with the whole thing. But, there's a sequel, and I will read it at some point.
Very quick read. Although it is short, the spice was spicing and it did have a smidgen of a plot. Honestly I wanted more world building because I love books with paranormal and/or shifters.
I like these kinda little novellas to read in between big reads. This was spicy 🌶🌶....yeah it was mostly with a teddy bear but it wasn't a horrible book.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect with this story. I chose to read it because… well, I was intrigued. A few spelling errors aside, I actually really loved this story! Teddy was so, so sweet, and I really love that he helped Aliyah move on from her boyfriend that was no good to her. It was short, very steamy, and very sweet. I’d recommend!
I was unprebeared for this book. I thought I knew what I was getting into. I was... somehow wrong and right at the same time??
I listened to the audiobook and holy smokes was it hot. 5/5 stars for that alone. Unfortunately my version of the audiobook had some errors that I wouldn't have noticed if I wasn't reading along with the ebook at the same time (some chapters had been uploaded in the wrong order) but I was assured that the correction has been made and should be uploaded to Audible any time now! Wow!! That was quick - I only reported it about 12 hours ago!
Listening to this story was unbearable ;) I was surprised to find myself genuinely enjoying it halfway through! I thought it would be a quick little quirky read, but I was actually invested. There are little peeks into the greater world (witches, mages, magic, fey, shifters, excuse me????? I need more immediately!!!!) that pop up so naturally through the story that it feels like a real world and not something just put together for a smutty scene or five.
Speaking of - the smut?? Hot AF. Like, I get that she's getting it on with a stuffie but like. HOO BOY. 10/10, even if the dirty talk made me roll my eyes (paws, fur, etc were in fact used because. you know. stuffed animal.)
I absolutely cheered when the FMC stood up for herself with her boyfriend, by the way. I had to pause reading so I could do the touchdown dance or whatever people call it these days.
Also, I am LIVING for the nonbinary they/them that shows up in the beginning of the book. And the casual crumbs dropped of the FMC being bisexual. Give me ALL of this inclusion, thanks. Delightful.
There is a content warning page, and you should pay attention to what's on there. Otherwise you may be surprised or not enjoy your time as much. Still, the book was 2.5 hours to listen to and I enjoyed myself plenty!
(This book was giving ‘if Baymax from Big Hero 6 gave sexual favors’ 😉 That's literally the book in a nutshell. All the stuffed animal cared about was providing for the FMC and making sure she was happy/satisfied.)
Aliyah's partner has a job that takes him all over the place, so she's often left alone, sexually frustrated and unloved. She unknowingly uses magic to bring her stuffed animal—that her partner, Devin, gifted her—to life.
The author was actually making me love a teddy bear more than a human man... In my defense, he was in his human form the majority of the time, and was also very attentive and caring towards Aliyah.
I surprisingly enjoyed this book lol it was fun and hot. I just wish the author expanded more on the magic part of the story.
And idk if this has been fixed, but I noticed some grammatical and spelling errors. So it was a bit confusing at times.
Overall, I loved this weird ass book 😂 I've learned a lot about myself today (jk jk!!) I would recommend it though 😌
Aliyah is a powerful mage who has done her best to not wish for things, as wishing has led to her magic working on its own. But when her boyfriend -- who is always out of town for work -- sends her a four-foot-tall stuffed teddy bear, she decides that she wishes it could do more than just sit around, if you know what I mean.
This was a new one for me. I mean, listen, I've read and an object smut before, and shifters, but a teddy bear that can shift into a person and change how many peeshes that he has was definitely a new one for me. I will say, the smut was well written. Don't go into this expecting the heavy plot because mostly it's about her time with Teddy and how much she can fit into her hoo-ha. But otherwise this is a quick and fun read. I like the little bit of character growth that Aliyah goes through, but again this is more just smutty smut smut with a whole lot of spicy scenes.
This story offers a soft, emotionally driven take on paranormal romance, focusing more on connection and feeling than high drama or shock value. The narrative moves at a calm, steady pace, allowing the characters and their inner worlds to unfold naturally.
What stood out most was the comforting tone of the writing. The paranormal elements are present, but they serve as a backdrop rather than overpowering the emotional arc. The romance feels sincere and approachable, making the book easy to settle into, especially for readers who enjoy character-centered stories.
Overall, this is a warm and gentle read that blends romance and the paranormal in a balanced, accessible way. It’s particularly well suited for readers looking for atmosphere, emotion, and a sense of quiet escapism rather than intense plot twists.
I read this as a joke, I saw it on TikTok and thought what the hell? it had some spelling errors and grammar issues overall in the beginning & surprisingly it didn't deter me. This is mostly a book about sex but truly I loved it. Teddy & Aliyah had such a cute relationship, the turmoil of her dealing with her boyfriend being gone for so long and Teddy comforting her. I was hoping it would be longer because by the end of it, I loved the story. I am so glad i gave this a chance! if you are looking for a quick read that is entertaining and has really really good detailed scenes, this is your book!
The setting of Pinehurst and the magic of a mage. I first learned about Mage’s in the book “Battle Within” and this is an off shoot from that book. It is full of a lot of dirty, kinky sex with an underlying story of a girl learning she deserves more in life than a selfish boyfriend and her stuffie, which she wishes to life, who teaches her that by showing her unconditional love. I like the notion that we all need the comfort of our things and should not be forced to abandon them just because we grew up. "This is my honest review of an advanced reader copy."
If you want a totally unhinged book, read this one!
Aliyah is a demure, cutesy girl with a douche bag boyfriend and a bit of a nymphomaniac vibe but she's also wholesome!!! Teddy is a stuffed teddy bear that was a gift from her douche bag boyfriend Devin. One day, she wishes for Teddy to be real, and then she deals with him being in a human/bear form from time to time. They become friends and wild smex buddies and ride happily ever after into the sunset while Devin stays behind by his lonesome, douchey self.
We listen and we don't judge. Right? I picked this up as a spoof from one of my reading groups not actually thinking I would like it. I was literally just going to read it for the laughs and to sate my curiosity. Well, lemme just say... there is more storyline than I thought there would be. I ended up really enjoying Teddy as a character. The climax (get it?) really jerked on the heartstrings. Now, I am impatiently waiting for the subsequent books that might be to follow. An easy evening read -- but worth it in my opinion.
