Another great read in this series! Elly is great, and I love how she's grown. This story was a bit wild, but it was fun and moved right along. I'm just sorry there aren't any more. Dare we hope to see more books in the Beach Bakery series?
Well, this final installment was a bitter sweet 🧐murder but was no mystery 🥴‼️ More like a dud thud. …I suspected 🧐 & solved this case early in the book🧐🤷🏾♀️‼️ “Nevertheless, “A Lime Flavored Crime (A Beach Bakery Cozy Mystery)” - Book 3 of 3 was my least favorite book of the series. I’d rated this storyline as a 3.75 ⭐️’s as a mediocre read. Thereafter, I was disappointed in the plot development for “A Lime Flavored Crime”. e.g.: How did Paxton know where Elly resided⁉️They weren’t friends or industry associates. Yet he drove to a stranger’s🥹 home under the disguise to use her bathroom 🥴⁉️ What in the “Theodore “Ted” Bundy”🤦🏾♀️🫣⁉️Also, Elly’s behaviors were reckless and uncharacteristic of her introverted nature. Now amateur sleuthology actions are/were her new hobbies which incidentally no one asked for her opinions 🤷🏾♀️‼️Her interference could have jeopardized her life again & or Det. Iona’s current case.
Elly is just starting to get her feet under her, after the betrayal of her mother, and her ex fiancè pretending to be dead to keep from marrying her. Detective Iona Kia has starting seeing her when a Hollywood star falls dead after eating her cake at his wedding. In her anxiety and fear Elly makes several mistakes splashing her face across tabloids. You couldn't help feeling for her as you read. Rosie has pulled us into this cozy mystery making the pages fly. This is a superb story and definitely worthy of the five star rating.
Rosie writes very good stories. You feel like you are getting a glimpse into a friend's adventure and life. Elly gets a commission making the cake and cupcakes for a very prestigious wedding. Unfortunately, the groom drops dead at the first dance after having a taste of wedding cake. In trying to prove her innocence she ends up getting in several predicaments. She gets in trouble with detective Kai. This was an interesting and fun read while catching up with Elly. A nice clean, cozy read.
In the conclusion to this trilogy, Elly discovered a lot about herself and learned to accept a lotta stuff she'd only put herself down for before. I just love her bestie Leilani! That girl’s been so good for Elly and her sometimes fragile state of mind. This book had a very nice conclusion and was a good wrap-up for the series.
It’s been a little while since the last book in this series. I am glad to see another story. Great characters & a beautiful setting. I hope there will be more soon.
So sad this series only had three books. I read the last 2 today. I just couldn't put them down. They were funny and riveting. Loved the mom and not dead husband too.
