He’s kind and charming and the only man to ever spark my desire.
But I’m two decades younger than him…and his employee.

Being inexperienced with men at twenty-three shouldn’t be a big deal. I’ve just never been overly attracted to anyone, and I’ve been busy dealing with a mountain of debt since my mother died.

I refuse to lose the house she left me. Especially since my widowed neighbor and his daughters have become like my family. But my feelings for him are getting out of control.

Gavin Brinley. Kind, caring, handsome, and that English accent? I can’t keep from fantasizing about him. But I should. He’s forty-six. He knew me when I had pigtails. He’s my boss, and I need every cent of that paycheck.

But he’s the only man to ever kindle my sexual appetite, and I don’t know why.

Kissing him that first time is a really bad idea. Attending a work conference together is even worse. He’s teaching me about my hidden, wild desires, and I can’t believe the things we’re doing together.

We’re both ready to take a risk and go public, but he absolutely cannot find out about my secret night job, or the trust we’re building will be destroyed…

BORN TO MAKE YOU SMILE is a spicy, forbidden, age-gap romance featuring an uptight British dentist and his very sweet and obedient assistant.

Gavin is a dentist and widower with two daughters. Grace is his dental assistant, much younger, and they have known each other most of her life as they are also neighbors. Grace has been dealing with the grief of losing her mother and struggling to keep her finances and family home afloat. These two are friends and co-workers and she often helps out with his girls. Their relationships progresses naturally and it is a slow burn romance.

I really love Gavin and the inside jokes they have with each other. They make a great team at work and in life. Grace struggles with things internally and doesn’t like to ask for help, which is frustrating. Gavin just wants to care for her. They go through many ups and downs.

This was a good age gap, workplace, slow burn romance with some great spicy scenes.

Despite their big age difference, these two have been friends forever. They became even closer after Grace's mother and Gavin's wife passed away. She also works for him at his dental practice and very often watches his kids. They never thought that their friendship would become something more.

After her mother passes, Grace is at a point in her life where she doesn't know what to do. Her mother's house is falling apart, and she doesn't have enough money to fix it. But she finds a temporary solution, a very interesting one. She decides to start living her life, but something stops her. Even though Grace is dating someone, seeing that Gavin has a girlfriend makes her look at him with different eyes. Well, Gavin looks happy, but it turns out he is not that indifferent towards her like we thought. Something is flowing in the air, feelings are formed, and beautiful love develops...

I really loved these two. Grace and Gavin were really close, but they never imagined that they could be together. I loved the fact that they had the chance to realize their feelings and not go at it straight away. She was dealing with so much after her mother's death, and he was there for her. She's done the same for him because she could see that he had difficulties taking care of his girls. They were truly able to fall in love the right way.

We also had some hot and spicy scenes. I mean really spicy 🥵. With him not knowing what she does at her second job, it was just so intriguing. The tension between them was sizzling with each subsequent chapter. When they finally got together, it was so hot. They also managed to explore some kinks, which was so good. I loved all their love scenes 🌶️. I knew that the age gap trope is my favorite for a reason 😉.

Overall, I loved reading "Born to make you smile."

🌶🌶 - Spice Level

Gavin and Grace are neighbors, colleagues, and friends. Gavin is a local dentist with Grace as his dental hygenist assistant. Gavin lost his wife 7 years ago, and Grace lost her mom not long after that. Gavin twice Grace's age, but Grace's is having feelings for him. They've been right next to each other this whole time, like puzzle pieces that haven't been fit together yet. Grace helps watch his two girls when he needs it and is basically a part of the family. Grace's house is falling apart, and she doesn't want to burden friends or Gavin with the money/details. Grace takes a job at a sex club to make extra. They both start a relationship during a dental conference. It took some time before they were publicly seeing each other.

This was a cute read of an age gap relationship. Each person needed to come to terms with their relationship being public and get over any lingering guilt or feelings they were bringing into the relationship. Gavin even gets on board with learning some dominant behavior when Grace mentions it. For a first-time reading of this author, I really liked the characters, plot, and flow of the story.

Thank you, author, for the ARC!

This story was okay for me. I wished it had been done in a dual POV though. I would have loved to have Gavin's perspective. For the most part I liked this story and the chemistry between Grace and Gavin. My only thing was Grace was young and a little immature. So it took away from the story for me.

One thing first...
For all the authors who think marketing is a hard thing. It surely is, but readers will see you! I saw Annella posting about this book on Threads, and it caught my attention. It caught it so much that I had to read it. I was looking forward to my next KU time. As you read my review you it's obvious my KU time arrived and I read the book 😁
So don't give up. Post about your books on social media 🩷

It's a wonderful story. I love bigger age gaps, that's what mostly caught my attention about this book. And Gavin is so 🔥 I'm not afraid of dentists, but having one like Gavin would definitely make me want to go to him more often 😎 I had one 🔥 one once. But only to pull out my wisdom teeth. He wasn't my regular dentist 🥺

As I said, the age gap is huge, 23 years. Yes, Gavin and Grace have known each other since Grace was a child. NO, Gavin wasn't interested in Grace in any way back then. Not even instantly when she became legal. They were just friends. Really, really good friends. And not just between Gavin and Grace. Grace and Gavin's daughters are so perfect together 🩷

And here my "useless" part of the review...
I love Beanie Babies, too. I don't know how many Grace had, but I have quite a "few". And yes, I just counted them for this review. It's 99 + 6 Beanie Buddies (they are a bit bigger). It all started with a birthday present my in-laws gave my husband. A kiwi bird named Beak.

This is my first read by this author & I thought it was really cute. I love age gap romances. This involved some kink club aspects, loss of a parent and dealing with the grief, workplace romance. I wish there was just a bit more Oomph which would bump my rating up. I felt for Grace but also saw her potential.

✨️Review:
This age gap had an element of sweetness to it that was just so uniquely woven into such a forbidden romance successfully and I applaud Annella for really taking the jump because it worked like a charm!

Grace has the most growth I'd say, which makes sense since she's in a younger stage of life and still navigating the waves of life, but she's also trying to come to terms with a recent loss as well as trying to understand where these the budding feelings for her longtime friend and boss are coming from.

She thinks very pragmatically about them and about her connection with Gavin. They click, they understand each other in a way no one else does and I loved all the small stolen moments, quirks, little inside jokes they have with one another.

Gavin is a new book daddy for me, oh lord! A handsome, slightly geeky Clark Kent in disguise...but a man who knows how to take charge behind closed doors if you know what I mean. He's kind, a jokester, incredibly loving to his daughter's, and a sweetheart. Oh and he's BRITISH🥵 I have a weakness when a man calls his woman "love".

How they navigate the nature of their taboo love is exceptionally nuanced, with them recognizing that their deviation from social norms may cause stress to them and others. Yet they can't deny their magnetism to the other...how they each come alive, can be themselves.

Gavin, recently widowed was fearful he'd never find love again. Grace's other issues to get over involves her keeping secrets so she has to earn to trust and also let go so she can heal and accept this new love with Gavin.

I absolutely loved this couple and the bit of banter they always had too. If you like age gap (ala Carian Cole, Jennifer Hartmann), this is a must for you and I can't wait to read more from this author!

This age gap, forbidden romance was unique and full of complex real-life moments. It had spice, kink, sexual exploration and self-discovery.

Our heroine, Grace was easy to root for. After losing her mother, she finds herself struggling not only financially to keep her family home together but also emotionally as she sees everyone around her forming connections and family while she feels stuck in limbo.

Finding out she is suddenly developing feeling for the single dad next door is unnerving to say the least. But this also leads her to the discovery of her demi sexuality. I loved this aspect of our heroine's story because we don't see much of this in books or any other media. Like Grace, I love a good romance, whether it's a book, a movie, song or whatever. But in real life, instant attraction and lust isn't something experienced by everyone. Finding a character that navigates her own love story at her own pace was refreshing.

The rating is honestly for Gavin. I loved him as a great friend and amazing family man but as a love interest? He was a little too passive for me. He had spurts of action where he called the shots and in the bedroom scenes, sure it was hot, but outside the sexy times, his steering of the relationship felt a little manipulative and things only happened on his timeline, his say so. They had to keep things secret because of his career, his family, his reputation. I'm used to a more dominate hero, someone who gets carried away, who throws caution to the wind. Someone who doesn’t care what others think. Gavin eventually gets to that point but for me it was a little too late.

Maybe it was the single POV from Grace that kept this too one sided for me but I really disliked the third act break up and the reasons behind Gavin's "disappointment" which didn't feel that insurmountable.

Grace was left without a boyfriend, without a job and without a home and I never felt any real sympathy from Gavin. It was always somehow Grace’s fault and that killed the mood for me. The last part of this story was a downer for me. I wanted more grand gestures from Gavin to win Grace back, to really support her emotionally but instead we get a beaten down Grace making all these life changes alone and depressed. All in an attempt to prove she can be better for Gavin. The fact that she’s the one that goes after Gavin in the end was a little frustrating.

I honestly felt like if she hadn’t approached him, he’d keep living life because he could take or leave her. I needed more from Gavin and the single POV robbed me of the chance to find out what he was thinking. In the end, there wasn’t enough evidence of remorse or even real sadness to redeem him and their reconciliation was so rushed that I didn’t feel any emotion.

There is also kink exploration that started off promising but I never really felt any real chemistry between the MCs to make it more than interesting. I felt like I was being told rather than feeling that connection myself.

If you know me, you know I love a good epilogue and the engagement and wedding that followed was cute but not enough to rate this one any higher that 2.5 stars.

⭐⭐⭐.5 (would have been 4, if we got Gavin's pov)
🌶️🌶️.5 (good blend of open and closed door)

Received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I was drawn to this book because I was curious to see how the large age gap was going to be handled. This instantly became a page turner when Grace started working at the sex club Xplore. Especially since she was starting to experience her sexual awakening.

Homegirl named her chef's knife Jean, after the X-Men character and I'm here for it!

Gavin was such a cheeky character. I loved him from the beginning. Wished we could have gotten his POV on events.

This book was a great reset for me, I could feel myself getting into a reading slump. And this book as just what I needed. Plus it being set in Canada was a nice change.

The different representations and explanation of sexual orientations was fascinating. The author didn't simply drop buzz words, but took the time to explain and provide examples of what they were.

I loved the poetry after some of the chapters!

Gavin just made my list of silver fox book boyfriends. He was amazing! Dear God what a man. Allowing Grace to feel wanted and special. I cried after their first time together.

“More?” he asked. I gasped. “There’s more?” A smug grin grazed his lips. “Yes, I’m only about halfway.” “Jesus.” I let out a chuckle." LMAO lucky Grace 😂

He Googled BDSM techniques for her! 😭😭

The age gap wasn't an issue for me, I love a good age gap. But I think Grace having some unresolved daddy issues, was why I could not stay into this relationship. I loved them together, but after their first time, the spicy scenes were a bit cringe for me. Like a father disciplining his daughter, and if this was a taboo romance that would have been fine.

I knew the sex club job was going to be a problem. Grace kept secrets and expecting full honesty from Gavin was annoying. There is pride, and then stupidity. And Grace's pride definitely made her do some stupid stuff. There is no way her mother would want her to struggle like this, with so many people around her.

The ending of the book dragged a little, and I almost wished some of 3rd act break up happened sooner. I had about 50 pages left to read, and I was like this ending is going to be way too rushed with Grace not really evolving as a person. Or maybe his family could have caused the temporary break. That would have flowed better.

I through my kindle across the room when she sold her house annnd quit her job with no place to go nor another job lined up. Of course we know it will all work out in the end...but that irritated me so much 😅.

Overall I think this book felt out of order. Stuff that was towards the end, would have helped the pacing towards the middle. And did not feel like an age gap romance (to me), but a sugar baby situation. Tina was the voice of reason, questioning the whole thing and making sure it wasn't a case of grooming. And Grace selling the house came off as "oh well Gavin will just take me in and spoil me rotten" which sucked cause I was rooting for this couple.

"However, I was the new Grace who didn't mind the bling. Thats great. Gimme all the jewelry. Head to toe. Spoil me!" Glad to know you love Gavin, Grace, and you totally aren't with him for his money 🥴. Cause that definitely what it feels like.

But whatever this is fiction and I'm not a hater. Glad Grace got her happy ending and no longer on the struggle bus. I hope to be so lucky one day 😂.

Deep, grieving backstory interwoven with an exploration of love, sex, and personal growth.

At twenty-three, I find myself irresistibly drawn to my boss, Gavin Brinley, who is two decades my senior. As I navigate my struggles with debt and the loss of my mother, my feelings for him intensify, despite the complications of our age difference and our employer-employee relationship. Gavin, with his caring nature and enticing English accent, makes it hard to resist fantasizing about a life together, especially since he’s become a pivotal part of my world and the support system I rely on. But with the stakes high—my job and the home my mother left me—I know I must keep my feelings in check, even as they threaten to spiral out of control.

Grace is a beautifully relatable protagonist, grappling with anxiety, financial woes, and a deteriorating home. Her struggle to confront these issues, coupled with her growing feelings for Gavin, is both authentic and heart-wrenching. I particularly enjoyed her journey as she takes on a second job, which not only expands her horizons but also serves as a catalyst for her self-discovery.

Grace and Gavin’s long history adds an intense, all-consuming layer to their relationship, where subtle shifts in demeanor speak volumes about their complex feelings. The challenges they face—stemming from grief, an age gap, and their employer-employee dynamic—create tension that resonates with the reader, making their journey all the more compelling. Once their relationship ignites, the chemistry between Grace and Gavin is palpable and steamy, with both characters eager to explore new facets of their desires together. The added dimension of their kinks, approached with trust and comfort, brings a refreshing depth to their connection.

A delightful quirk of the narrative is the abundance of dad jokes and dental puns, which provide a lighthearted contrast to the heavier themes. This clever use of humor adds levity and charm, enhancing the reading experience.

Overall, "Born to Make You Smile" is a beautifully crafted tale of love, resilience, and personal growth that leaves a lasting impression. It’s a must-read for anyone who appreciates a heartfelt romance laced with real-life struggles and moments of joy.

This is an age gap romance. It’s also being labeled as forbidden I’m assuming because Grace works for Gavin and his wife and her mother were good friends. Grace is twenty-three years old and she works as a dental assistant to Gavin (46) in his dental office. Grace also lives next door to Gavin so he drives her to and from work. These two have a very friendly relationship. Grace watches his daughters and takes them trick or treating, she is an extended member of his family. They have a secret handshake. They like the same 70’s music which they listen and sing to in the car. After Grace witness Gavin kissing and dating a women suddenly her feelings for him begin to change. Now Grace is very naive and has no sexual experience but her mind starts to grow and expand when money troubles force her to work at a sex club as a bartender. Grace and Gavin have a few moments where things could have happened but it takes a long time for these two to open up their minds to the possibility of something occurring. Once a relationship begins Grace is almost all in but Gavin is a little more reluctant. This story is only told from Grace’s pov so we never get to know how Gavin feels. This book is a slow burn but there are some spicy moments. I loved the friendship aspects that these two shared for years before a relationship developed. This was a very enjoyable book Gavin to me is the ideal cinnamon roll character he is sweet, kind, understanding, warm, considerate and thoughtful. I truly loved him.

Born to Make You Smile is a surprising and delightful, sexy and surprisingly plotted story that I think you should read. Like, for real.

Gavin and Grace are just the sweetest yet hottest couple — and I enjoyed the hell out of this book.

It’s sweet and funny for sure. I enjoyed this aspect of the story so much. Gavin’s dad jokes and dental puns. Grace’s nurturing ways toward Gavin’s pre-teen daughters. Their secret handshake. Their easy way with each other.

But when they finally give in to their mutual attraction and the spice hits…look out! 🥵 Did I mention Gavin is British? 👏🏻 They explore their feelings while exploring each other’s bodies in very fun and kinky ways - and it was both hot and swoony AF.

The angst stemming from secrets and misplaced lack of trust on Grace’s part because of latent trauma and grief was frustrating. The way Gavin handled their burgeoning relationship status wasn’t ideal. But it was all realistic and grounded in a lot of emotion, grief and worrying about what others might think of their choices. I get it and felt the hurt and frustration of these characters.

So um…. I read this book because I’m in the dental field and it seemed like something I’d like.. forbidden romance, age gap, single dad, workplace romance. But this book fell flat for me.
I loved Grace’s relationship with Gavin’s daughters. I thought that part was cute and really liked how she fit into the family. Also, Grace’s cooking seemed amazing! It made sense how Grace and Gavin’s relationship started too- shared trauma, working closely, proximity, etc. sooo that’s basically all that worked for me.

The writing wasn’t my favorite and I kept thinking of what I’d change in the story. It started off ok, dragged in the middle and I didn’t like the s3x club aspect (it felt unnecessary) or the endless 70’s music references. I also felt like the breakup wasn’t fair AT ALL. Gavin wouldn’t tell anyone about their relationship but she’s expected to sell her house, part sign her late mother’s possessions, move in with him, get over the fact that he regifted a tennis bracelet, and feel safe enough to confide in him about her financial troubles? NAH. Gavin was a d bag in that moment and she would have probably been better off with someone her own age 😬

Grace and Gavin.

Gavin is a single dad and his wife died 7 years back due to cancer. He is hot and sexy and gives away daddy and bossy vibes.

Grace the FMC is overcoming the loss of her mother's death. She needs money to survive and she ends up working under Gavin.

The story line is good. The characters and the emotions were very well represented. I usually read dark romance and hence taking break from them and reading cute and sweet books is really good

This book definitely makes you smile..

Grace is quite young in this and she has a lot to know about life , people and herself as well. I saw a personal growth journey of hers in this book.

If we talk about Gavin, he is amazing and great man. But at some points I realised that he worries a lot about what others think. Maybe that was the demand of the character but at some aspecst he kept his reputation above his feelings for her or her feelings.

No doubt he came to track when he realised that Grace is the only one that matters.

Overall a great read and I will recommend it if you want to go for slow burn sweet Romance.

Gavin has lived next door to Grace for about 17 years. Grace is now 23, and Gavin is 46. Typically, I’m okay with an age gap, and I probably wouldn’t have batted an eye if they hadn’t been next-door neighbors, but Gavin has essentially known Grace since she was six, which felt a bit uncomfortable to me. On top of that, I kind of wish Grace wasn’t still a virgin. But did I let that stop me from reading this? No. Should it stop you? Also no.

I also had to keep reminding myself that Grace was young, especially since I found her a bit naive and sometimes annoying. However, I kind of loved Gavin. I liked that he was stuffy and didn’t feel the need to change; his love of dad jokes and dentistry puns was very entertaining. The “G-force” thing was a little cringy, though, lol.

But overall, the chemistry between them was definitely there. I loved Grace’s relationship with Gavin’s daughters, and the banter was excellent. I do wish there had been a bit less spice and more relationship development—or that they’d become an official couple a little earlier. But overall, this was a beautifully written story, and I’m excited to read more from this author soon

This is adorably charming. Gavin and Grace are so sweet and their goofiness with their inside jokes, love of 70s music and secret handshakes make them so perfect for each other. Age gap, single dad, neighbor, and boss tropes all perfectly wrapped up in beautiful story. Both grace and Gavin are dealing with their own grief of losing a loved one and rely on each other as friends, neighbors and coworkers but start to realize there is more to their long time relationship than they realized. “Born to Make You Smile” has a lot of heavy topics to include dealing with depression and coping with the long term after loss. There’s also some self discovery (kink discovery) and accepting these new found identities. And growing as a couple while exploring these fantasies. I loved their journey even though I didn’t always agree with some decisions and sometimes I found it to not be as fluid as I would like. Grace showed her age a lot and spiraled without having a conversation or Gavin would make assumptions or cut grace out of a lot because he was more concerned with his image than his relationship. But over all I liked the character arch and how they always found their way back to each other. It took a while to get them on the same page but they got there… eventually. And their chemistry …. WOW was It electric. There is no denying their compatibility in and out of the bedroom 🔥🔥🔥

Well well well...here you go! Never I expected to enjoy age-gap romance so much. That means Annella Savo writes a damn good book when it comes to it!

The story centres around Gavin and Grace, who share almost everything because they have been neighbours for years and worked together at a dental clinic. Not only that, but they also share the same grief of losing their loved ones.

Gavin is what I call a boring, straightforward man and I love the fact that Grace gets to see both sides of him—the boss side and the personal, neighbourly side. And at times how he defend that boring side of him is just...XD

There's a backstory between these two, having known each other for a long time, and it takes years for their love to finally evolve. All the doubts and hurdles they face in making their relationship work made me root for them so hard. I promise you, their finally HEA is so worth it.

There were moments when I cried because I felt their pain. There were times I laughed so hard at the ridiculous banter between them. And there were times I nodded and grinned like a silly goose because I knew it was meant to happen.

It was written in a way that felt real to me as a reader, and Savo captures every little detail that makes this read so enjoyable. It’s all in the details, I tell ya! I swear it’s so good that I want to list every single detail in its own category because I loved it!

Annella Savo, you’re a great storyteller, and I can’t wait to read more from you!

A solid 4.5 star!

This was a cute story and a fine read, I enjoyed it. I liked the premise of a newly growing crush on someone you’ve known for a long time and never really thought about that way until now. The relationship that develops between them is sweet and a bit spicy. I really, really liked how he finds out about her crush - that premise really got me giggly and the way he brought it up was really hot to me. There are definitely some enjoyable aspects to the story.

However, overall it was just lacking something for me whether it was something about the writing style or just maybe not quite enough depth for me. I just didn’t fully connect as much as I’d like to with the book.

Overall a nice, enjoyable read. I wouldn’t turn someone away from the book but it just wasn’t a top book for me either. I would try a second book from this author just to see how things go as I liked the underlying story and tropes and I understand this is a debut.

3/5 ⭐️

Grace has been neighbours with Gavin for the longest time. His deceased wife was in fact friends with her mother who has passed away. She is also a frequent nanny to his two daughters and works as his assistant at his dental clinic.

Despite Grace’s attraction to Gavin, she hides it as she doubts he will reciprocate her feelings. However, to her surprise their relationship soon changes and flirting becomes their norm. Meanwhile, Grace starts an interesting second job to pay her growing amount of bills.

As they navigate this huge change in their relationship, secrets continue to accumulate. Can their forbidden romance survive the external pressures and can Grace learn to trust Gavin fully? Read this to find out while you enjoy some “oral” and lame jokes.

This was an amazing debut novel but I would have loved to see some scenes from Gavin’s point of view.

Grace works as an assistant for her neighbor, Gavin, who was the husband of her mother’s best friend; however, they have both passed. She does nanny for him occasionally for his two daughters. Their relationship starts changing when the two go out on dates with other people. The house that Grace inherited has a lot of upkeep to maintain: when new problems arise there, she ends up having to pick up another job at a local club, which leads to trust issues between her and Gavin. Grace does not want to be a burden, but she wants someone to unabashedly love her and not be a secret (or treated like a child). Despite wanting to spoil her, I kind of felt like he (and his family) still acted a bit superior, and his gift for someone else was glossed over. I do like that his daughters were supportive and wanted them together.

🍑 This book is very quick & easy to read. Readers who enjoy the age-gap trope will like this book. Overall, I feel this book is okay. The attraction of the characters happens very quickly, so not much build up, and there is this consistent mood of doubt that carries throughout the book. Of course, doubt in this relationship is not a surprise, however, it weights the mood of the book down somewhat. There are issues of loss, grief and letting go & moving on, and while handled well in the book, contributes to the sad mood. There is a very extreme level of sizzle & spice in this book (make sure to read the tropes for this novel). Watch out for sexy Brit, Gavin, a single dad & an older man who can spoil his girl rotten is swoony and has a dark side (🪭 fanning face) when it comes to the sizzle & spice! 🍑

age gap

Gavin is single dad, british and Grace boss, who doesnt believe in love. Grace is kind and caring and steuggling to paid bills and grieving the loss of a parent. she works with Gavin and they help each other Gavin gives her a ride to work and nanny for him and one day Grace start to cry and Gavin kisses her in which he feels guilty for doing it and Grace is surprise and happy because she been crushing on him for a long time.
When Grace need a second job she is hire in a club where she discover herself and her desire. she keeps this from Gavin. where there is trust issues because they were communication issues between them.
I dont know but it seem like british are stuck up and Gavin family is. There is chwmistry between them but Favin cares about the huge age gap between them and how young Grace is and what people would said about it.

This had me sold when I read the “large age gap”trope! Hahaha, I’m such a sucker for these older Daddy’s. This is my first book(but won’t be my last) by Annella Savo and I thought it was fantastic.

I felt so sad for Gavin….he has honestly given up on love. Enter Grace…who I felt really helped him heal him. Unfortunately she’s keeping secrets of her own….hopefully their relationship will last when all their truths come out.

Oh, and he’s British. Yes ladies, British. How can you not love that!!!

Thank you to Annella Savo and The Author Agency for the ARC of this book!

This is a debut from this author, and she is certainly a name to look out for in the future.
Gavin is a widowed, single dad, who is a kind, and caring dentist, while Grace is his assistant and neighbor. When Grace’s mom passes, she leaves behind a mountain of debts, and she is forced to take a second job at nights to help alleviate the debts. Will Grace be able to keep her secret?
This is a well written story which has family, friendships, emotions, loss, grief, boss / employee, an age gap, angst, secrets, undeniable chemistry, soulmates, and love, which leads to a spicy, entertaining, unpredictable, and sweet addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend.

STEM MCs: he’s a dentist and she’s his assistant
Dental romances are hard to come by, so I was curious about this one. It just felt cheesy to me and a bit immature. I realize that she’s only 23, but when you’re trying to get with someone literally double your age, you’d think she would be more mature. Also, he was so reactive about her reality when things came out and it just seemed out of proportion at times. They were both dating other people at the beginning which I hate, and there was a ton of will they won’t they for a while. He was super sketchy about going public for a good chunk of the book then 10 seconds after the conflict resolution he tells everyone they know… incredible turnaround on that one. There is some kink exploration in here, so expect quite a bit of spice.

📚🌶🌶

There is sensitive topics discussed in this book.

Born To Make You Smile was the ultimate forbidden age gap romance that I have been waiting for!! This MC couple are neighbors and coworkers who have been friends for a while.

Gavin is a British dentist who is Ivy's boss and twice her age. Ivy is the inexperienced dental assistant to Gavin and has been working to pay off some debts. These two form an unlikely bond while trying to keep everything friendly and professional.

I love that this is Annella Savo's debut novel!! It has some many aspects and a really great flow of the story. I can't wait for more!!

This is this author’s debut and this book is charming and sweet. This book has tropes of age-gap (20 years), work place (he is her boss), single dad and loss/grief/depression. The story itself is well written.

Gavin and Grace have known each other for years, as they live next to each other. They both have suffered a significant loss. Grace takes a second job to help alleviate bills and that leads so self discovery and when the chemistry between Gavin and Grace ignores, it leads to some further exploration.

There path is not an easy one, as there are struggles on both sides. But I felt the way their relationship was written was realistic and it was packed with emotion.
