They are a guilty pleasure without having to commit too much thought or energy into the plot. Sometimes I just want an escape into a fantasy world where men are dominating assholes who will kill for their women.

4 I Volunteer to Be Traded Stars!

L.V. Lane has once again written a smutty and addicting MFM fantasy omegaverse romance. Megan's gross husband trades Megan to two barbarians who are cousins and definitely gets more than she bargained for in the best way.

Drew and Liam decide Megan is for them and will take every opportunity to woo Megan and mate her. They believe she is perfect for them even though she is a Beta and they are Alphas.

"Alphas sense receptiveness in a potential mate in ways we cannot know. They discern our hearts and passions better than we do."

Drew, Liam and Megan will face some challenges but they will do so together and find their HEA. Drew and Liam were big teddy bears and I loved that about them. They were sincere in their affections and just wanted to make Megan happy. Megan was a sweet soul who didn't think she deserved Drew and Liam but she also was smart enough to not let them go. Overall, a super cute and SPICY read that I really liked.

"Unexpectedly, here in an uncivilized land, I find a piece of heaven with my two barbarian mates."

I should not be ogling the barbarians, even if they are prime alpha flesh.

I love The Coveted Prey series! Each book has a unique plot with different ABO dynamics, shifter types, steam levels, and layers of darkness. Traded for Their Pleasure was such a fun read. It is on the lighter side with an all-human (non-shifter) cast.

The romance is sweet. I am a little obsessed with the two Alpha barbarian cousins who chose Megan to be their mate. Their attentiveness to her and the absolute joy they expressed having found her was apparent throughout the book. There was never a moment where they made Megan feel lesser because she was a beta.

The steam… holy hell. Megan is one lucky beta to have two alpha mates training her to take their knots. The scenes were smoking hot, and the dirty talk… wow. They were able to get her going without even touching her.

Another win from LV Lane!

Genre: Omegaverse Fantasy Romance
Tropes/Features: Beta FMC, Alpha Barbarian MMCs, knot training, spankings, breeding, ex-husband drama
Narrator: Multiple 1st Person POV
Relationship Type: MFM, fast burn, very spicy
Book Type/Ending: Standalone novel in the Coveted Prey series with HEA

Short, sexy, exactly as the title says. I liked it. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was how they spoke. Very olden times speaking, which makes sense for the story, but still a little off.

So much yuck

I made it to page 67, and that was too much. It was so gross on so many levels. I hope to never read anything else from this author. This book was trash. I generally always force myself to read the full book, but I couldn't stomach reading anymore of this absolute trash. Just, yuck. So much yuck.

Full blown cackling like had to put the book down and LAUGH OUT LOUD. If you need something mindless to make you laugh, then this is the book for you.

Traded for the best…

When Megan’s husband gets in a bind with two barbarians he offers her to pay for the debt. When the two alphas Liam and Drew came to Megan’s house they were not expecting to find their mate, a married beta woman. Megan is torn about leaving her current situation and going with the two alphas. When she chooses them she definitely made a better deal then her lousy husband.
Liam and Drew bring Megan to their village in hopes of training her body to take their knots and more. She’s a willing participant once she feels the pleasures they give her.

I enjoyed this quick story and it’s got what most Omegaverse fans are looking for. Knots, nests and plenty of action both the steamy and battle kind.

Great book, it's book 16 in a series but didn't feel like I was missing anything even though everything seems to be connected. I'm sure had I read the other books before I would've seen little nods to the other books. The only issue I had with this book was the plot and background plots were too rushed. The conflict is less than a chapter long and then one of the sub plots gets solved in a sentence. If those had been more flushed out the book would've been better.

That and if I heard them refer to Megan as a brat one more time in the book I would've screamed.

First book by this author, and honestly, I am pleasantly surprised. Given the book’s length and theme, I figured this would be nothing more than barbarian-themed smut – and while there was plenty of that, there was also a nice plot to go with it, alongside charming characters with distinctive enough voices despite the book’s length.

Don’t get me wrong, the plot in this won’t be winning any awards for originality. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t still a fun smutfest of an adventure with loving, obsessive men loving on their very deserving mate.

Definitely will be checking more by this author.

Beta gets the Alphas

Love that this author explores the beta getting alphas in Omegaverse. This book brought all the goodness!! ❤️the smut and the “training “ always exceptional!!seeing previous characters, almost like a slice of life was great. This is a standalone in an interconnected world, and you don’t have to read the others for this one to make sense. (Although it would enrich your experience)

Steamy erotica novel

This is a erotica novel. The two barbarian Alpha's take the lonely housewife who is sold by her husband to pay back a debt. Don't think too hard about the story line. The language is almost other worldly. Just sit back and enjoy.

A short read I started yesterday it is short.
If you enjoy omegaverse but non shifters and barbarians I would give this a try!
The MMCs and FMC were attracted to each other from the beginning. They were the ones to turn her life around and make her happier.

Read for straight smut and expected it to be ridiculous- and it was LOL. Smut was okay and the dialogue and voice was just a little weird- couldn’t decide what it wanted to be. Barbarians had very little personality and I just got a little bored and started skimming.

I’ve been waiting for this new instalment of the coveted prey series and I must say this was every minute worth the wait.

I love the whole premises of the series and I loved this new addiction even more. The plot was so good, I loved how the fmc was traded to the fmc and while she was unwilling at first she pretty quickly succumbed to her future mates

This was as spicy as all the other books in this series and when I say I devoured this in a day!!! I’m not lying.

Not My Favorite in the Series

I loved the original Barbarian novel with Jack and Finn in Ralston with tiny beta Hazel.

This book tried very hard to be similar in many ways but fell short of my expectations.

I like the heroine, but she's rather forgettable compared to some of LV Lane's previous awesome leading ladies. I just finished the book and barely remember her name. The men are definitely huge barbarian alpha's, but I found some of the spicy stuff didn't really seem consistent with the previous alpha/alpha/beta book. Such as Hazel and Jack being intimate the first night despite being a widow for a while vs Liam, Devon and Megan waiting at least a night. Also in the other book, the alpha's responded to changes in Hazel's scent but their scent didn't act on Hazel because she wasn't an omega. There was a scenting scene but it was about ownership/marking her not encouraging physiological changes. Also at one point slick is mentioned in relation to Megan, but betas don't have slick glands according to the previous books.

Another peeve, Danon from two previous books is referred to as "Dan" several times in one chapter. It's confusing and kept throwing me out of the action of the story. At least two phrases were overused in the book, 'she likes a bit of pain....' and 'she's going to be naughty about this...' show up so often it was bothersome.

The normal naughty humor was just gone. The characters I fell in love with reading previous books like Gwen and Gage were wooden. The plot seemed rushed because we had what felt like two romances instead of the one. Ellen and Danon could have been reduced in this plot and given their own book. This didn't do a great job of addressing Danon's innocence nor Eric's change of heart. The book seemed to lack strong direction relating to the potential conflicts of Hal, the raiders, and Danon.

I will keep reading the series because out of the many books in the series, I don't re-read two of them. The rest are fast friends in my reading rotation.

Smut w knots, alphas, betas (no omega this story), squirting, spanking, multiple O’s, ex husband, corporal punishment w a belt, semi bratty fmc and two mcs who are cousins but no mm.

And a partridge in a pear tree.

I am not a fan of stories where the mc and fmc have corporal punishment within their relationship. It just icks me out.

But I refuse to remove a star here bc it becomes clear super early on the mcs are down for that.

So for anyone who hates that, you can stop reading it early. No big deal.

It isn’t horrible until the end where they spank her and then also belt her. That was gross to me. So gross.

Anyone that grows up w the belt knows how badly that hurts and they were gonna give her TWENTY after her ass is already raw from spanking?

Clearly the author has never been whipped w a belt. And it shows.😒🤣

Other than that it is just a ridiculous little book of smutty mcsmutville for our reading pleasure.

I don't usually say this about already short books but I wish this had at least 100 less pages because I got the impression that it is trying to be something that it's clearly not, incorporating secondary characters (who had potential for their own book) getting together rather quickly and some action filled drama, but none of those elements were accomplished successfully in my opinion. For example, we had the FMC being kidnapped by her ex husband and a group of raiders who tried to exchange her for treasures but she was rescued within a chapter, so I don't see the point in trying to make a plot complex when there is no intention to follow through with it. In my eyes, this would have been better as a novella with just enough sex scenes because, as it is, it felt really repetitive, like I was reading the same sequence happen at least four times.

SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

Megan is the wife of a lowlife schemer and overall awful husband. So when he offers her up as a trade to a few barbarians who he had previously scammed, she's not surprised. She's nervous at first, angry for sure, but she is sick of her husband's selfish ways.

When she starts to get to know the barbarians who she was traded to, she begins to fall for them. And they too are imprinting on her. So they begin wooing her and preparing her to be their mate.

REVIEW:

So this one was kind of neat because we headed back to the barbarian clans from early on in the series. Drew and Liam are in the same clan that Eric is the king of. We met Eric, Gwen, Ellen, and Danon during the drama that unfolded in Trained For Their Pleasure and Claimed For Their Pleasure. Danon is the one who Eric believed killed his father (the former clan king). He is also Gage's brother.

I was actually really happy to be back to this type of story after getting so many "weird" books in this series (centaurs, orcs, etc) because the books at the beginning of this series are what really made me love this series in the first place, and I've missed these barbarian clans a bit.

That being said, I do wish it would've been a story about an omega and her alphas. Not a huge fan of the stories that have to "train" betas to be with alphas. It's just not as fun for me. I enjoy the omega/alpha dynamic and not so much having to force their ways onto a beta when it doesn't come naturally.

Still, I really loved Liam and Drew, who are cousins and accustomed to sharing women. They are both sexy and surprisingly sweet and good to Megan.

Megan is a good character too. Despite preferring the alphas to have an omega pairing, I did like her. She's smart and strong and adaptable; and I liked how she treated her mates.

It was also really nice to see what's happening in these barbarian clans since we last saw them:

- Gwen and Eric are mated, along with three other mates for Gwen.

- Danon has been a prisoner all this time, although treated fairly well. And he has taken a liking to a sweet beta we met in previous books named Ellen. I actually would've loved to have a book (or even a novella) for him and Ellen. I love their side story, it was so sweet and romantic.

The steam was hot as usual and I enjoyed that part very much. These alphas know what's up, and I love it when they share nicely. ;)

Overall it was a good story. Glad to be back to the basics a bit with this one going back to some of the earlier clans and characters in the series. I liked Megan, Liam, and Drew and enjoyed their story for the most part.
