"From Out of the Past Come the Thundering Hoofbeats ..... Come with Us Now to Those Thrilling Days of Yesteryear."

Author David Rothel chronicles the story of the creation and development of "The Lone Ranger" on radio beginning in the depression years of the early 1930's, through to the mid-1970's as our famous Western hero continued to feature in movie serials, novels and comic strips, television, films and even as a Saturday morning cartoon series.

Large scale book packed with more than 170 rare and fantastic photos with in depth narrative and interviews and anecdotes from many of the participants.
A fascinating "behind-the-mike" view of early radio drama, and a "behind-the-camera" view of television filmmaking during the 1950's.
Typical no-frills A.S. Barnes book of the 1970's but what this fabulous volume has is: 256 pages of impeccable research and awesome photos, all adding up to being the definitive work relating to "The Lone Ranger."
