This was a follow-up I didn't know I needed. After Nami's book, I was heartbroken for Kohen, as his chemistry with Nami was electric. However, just couldn't seal the deal. So, when I saw this read, I was excited for what could be.
Kohen was still his laid-back self but applying a bit more pressure. Nami, you want this man, what the problem is? 👀 It was cute to see Nami get to know Kohen's parents and begin to come into her own. However, I would have liked to know more about her childhood trauma, and how her therapy was progressing, so I could understand her better. I was glad that she finally took a chance and seems to be happy with her decision. Now, will Theo get his ish together? 🤷🏾♀️
Always grateful when my friends send me their books. Kohen and Nami definitely have been on a JOURNEY. One that I have enjoyed but also somewhat loathed because I just wanted Nami to get it together and realize Kohen was for her. In Kohen's Kryptonite, we finally see them pull it together and we come to understand why she is the way she is and the reason for her actions. Kohen finally got out of his shell and took the risks necessary to get his girl.
The sequel I didn’t know I needed. When ML Bash announced the release of this book, I was too geeked because after reading Nami’s Ecstacy, I had to see how Kohen and Nami’s story continued.
Listen, Kohen stood ten toes down for his girl. He didn’t play about her. He was willing to cut off anyone who disrespected her. He showed her that she deserved love and more, and his parents were the icing on the cake helping him in times of need.
Nami fought hard and long about her feelings. I was happy to see her come around and accept being loved by a good man.
We first met Nami and Kohen in Nami's Ecstasy where our girl's Mile High cherry was busted by Kohen's bestie Theo and then the three of them all played. That ended with everyone agreeing to leave that fun filled experience a memory.
I was fine with that ending. I didn't NEED more. But then I saw that there were TWO follow up short stories featuring Nami and Kohen and curiosity got the best of me.
In The Midst of Forever, we see Kohen express is feelings and desire to pursue Nami and our girl is ito it until she's not. She's a runner ya'll.
Kohen's Kryptonite wraps things up for these two. Our girl is still running but the reader finds out why. Her background will tug at your heartstrings. Kohen is absolutely loveable and genuine in his willingness to give her time, space, support, and love. Mental health and self-care are big themes in final story.
Our boy tells Nami he can't love her healthy. His love won't heal her! I feel like this is incredibly important and impactful because a lot of love stories gloss over healing or they give the illusion that finding love is what will heal you.
This couple really surprised me and were fun to follow.
Meh. There was a lot of build-up, and in the end, this couple should have been left of the shelf.
🤔 So, Nami's cause for hesitatation was she was broken in a nutshell 💁🏾♀️. This turn of event is disclosed now... in hopes of developing and giving the character depth, well, sucks!
It implies that something "had" to be wrong with her. That a woman is not capable or free enough to explore and boundaries have casual sex. Which was the whole point of the "This Aint Love" series 🤷🏾♀️.
Kohen. 🤦🏾♀️ I feel like I need to call upon all my toxic energy, pick a random fight with my man until he forgets the English language, can only speak in growls and grunts.
Then read nothing but gangsta boss 💩 for a week to get my testosterone levels back up!
Kohen was a walking contradiction. Bless their hearts...
Hmmmm 🤔, I’m conflicted by a few lingering events: 1. The threesome elephant, 2. Kohen’s anxiety & social awkwardness (didn’t recall from Nami’s book), 3. Nami’s has abandonment issues & adopted 4. Where’s Tashi ? 5. Where’s Nami’s vehicle? ….etc. Meanwhile, “Kohen’s Kryptonite: This Is Forever (This Ain’t Love - Book 15) was an update on Nami & Kohen’s situationship from earlier this year. However, the only problem,”Nami’s Ecstasy” ended in a quandary, and she was contemplating leave the company. Clearly, I’ve missed something. …because now everything is copacetic between this trio🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🥴🤔⁉️
Yeah I have been rocking with this couple since the beginning and when I tell you this was departed ain't to a journey to love. I am so happy we got to understand exactly why Nami was so resistant to really be with Kohen and that she was getting help for that. Kohen really following through and not giving up on Nami was sweet. They are truly perfect 4 one another...now my guy Theo...I feel like there's something possibly happening with him and that model...but we shall see if we get a story there. .👀...overall loved this ending💜
This update on my babies was lit. I was happy things went their way. U seen the chemistry their for them they just needed that push. Theo needs to get himself together, and that model needs to be too well. U did good on yet another book and I'm looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and while eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read
🫤 not really sure what the purpose of this book was. When ML said this wasn’t love in the first installment we believe her! She didn’t need to try and prove us wrong. I would’ve been more than ok leaving Nami and Kohen where they left off. There was zero believable chemistry amongst these two and the relationship wasn’t convincing at all. The flow of the story was weird and I think the author brought book one down with this one. 🥴
I’m not sure how I feel about this one. I was good with how Nami’s ecstasy ended. I really enjoyed that one and might have rated it a 5 star. I could’ve done without this one honestly. It was too slow and then too quick. Kohen was a simp and I didn’t find that attractive at all. How you pursue a woman who let you and the homie slut her out is beyond me 🤷🏽♀️
Very cute follow up to this anxious ass couple lol. Them ending off in a one night in the first book didn’t sit right with me and I’m glad we got to see the journey ❤️
I was so happy to find this follow-up. Kohen and Nala's story I wanted to end with a HEA. So I'm happy that they finally got it. I love how the author has Kohen standing up for his lady. Also how his parents open their arms and bring her into the family.
It was okay but seemed unrealistic because what man would want to settle down with a woman that he and his best friend had a threesome with. Some of the storylines didn’t go anywhere and could’ve been left out in my opinion.
I couldn’t stand Nami in the “Nami’s ecstasy” book. Why would she have sex with the man she likes best friend. I found her annoying in the book “in the midst of forever.” Now that we get to learn more about her and her past, i don’t hate her. I’m glad she is getting therapy
Finally, Nami gets her together and it’s free to allow herself to love Kohen like she should. They both deserve. Fitting end to the trilogy that is their story. Enjoy!
It was cute, glad we got to spend more time with these two. Really liked getting meet Kohen’s parents!! Now I’ll hold out hope we get something from Theo next…..
Beautiful happy ending!! This was deflee love! And they admitted it!! Loved Kohens accepting family. Loved Nami opening up and getting the help she deserved!
