Byron Barton is the author and illustrator of many picture books for young children. He has been honored by ALA, SLJ, and Reading Rainbow. He worked as an animator for CBS before he started creating children's books. He is currently making his illustrations completely on the computer.
My vehicle-obsessed one year old went crazy for this book! We found it at the library and read it so many times since. It’s a great resource for helping toddlers count since he did point with me as we counted the vehicles. And made a lot of vroom sounds. Great book for younger toddlers who love things that move! Awesome pictures and great vocabulary learning.
This is a fun vehicle study with colorful, minimalist illustrations. Despite their simplicity, the illustrations offer details for discussion and questions. For a deeper dive on the bus driver and his car, read My Car, also by Barton. Both books close on the same city scene.
