Combined for the first time in one volume, here are the first three books of the internationally bestselling DEMONSOULED series - DEMONSOULED, SOUL OF TYRANTS, and SOUL OF SERPENTS, and the bonus short story THE WANDERING KNIGHT.Banished for fifteen years, the wandering knight Mazael Cravenlock returns home at last to the Grim Marches, only to find war and chaos. His brother plans a foolish and doomed rebellion. His sister hopes to wed a brutal and cruel knight. Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.
He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.
A really good story. Though there are quite a few grammatical and spelling errors, I try not to let that detract me from enjoying a book if the story itself is strong enough to cover for the lack of editing. This story has an interesting premise and a strong story that will keep you to the pages til the end of the book. Combining the first three novels and the first few chapters in the fourth installment in this Omnibus make this a great buy to get yourself acclimated to the series as a whole. A great book to spend a lazy Sunday with.
Fighting against demons ,wizards dark tribes ,snake people and trying to keep hold This book was one of the best I've read in a long time kept me enthralled from start to finish
This series is well written. I like the character's and their adventures. They seem like real people well developed and displaying the traits of real people. I highly recommend this series to people who enjoy fast paced action.
I kind of like it, but the story is a little bit not satisfactory. In just a few words, nothing happens for centuries, but our hero appears and everything unravels, all evil has been forgotten, except by a few and all the forgotten horrors come back to life. I know is fantasy, but it doesn't feel real and it is too exaggerated., I mean going from loving knight to murdering kin and to forgiving knight in the space of a few chapters. Zillion of forgotten creatures appearing out of thin air. Anyways it feels like an anime, where everything is around the protagonist, and he gets stronger and stronger and his enemies are upgraded accordingly in each episode, err book. I'll finish the series, but I will not revisit it.
This is such a good series. Action& more action, great magic & characters that have grown thru the first three books. We finally see what happens to Romania & Maazel.the story becomes very clear as we see new deamonsouled,Marais, ogrags, & sepherizem(Story my spelling)& so much more. Better you read this book & series rather than me telling you what happens. Great reading as always with Jonathan Moeller
I've never done a review before, but I'm hoping maybe the author can see this & have the requisite corrections made. Between this omnibus and the Frostborn e-book omnibus, there's easily over 100 typos and formatting issues. It really almost dampens the experience of reading these stories -- which turns out, are pretty darn good.
I loved the Frostborn series, so I am a fan of Mr. Moeller, but I was unsure about reading a book about demons. No spoilers, but the Demonsouled series has many layers to it. The action is great! The relationships and bonds formed are well described. So it was not what I first thought, and so much better!
This series needs a good editor and a writer that understands foreshadowing. I read this because it was cheap at first, and finished it because I was bored. Tons of potential without follow through.
Quite the page turner. This story is nearly non stop and just begs you to keep reading. There are some rough spots with grammar but not enough to jar this reader from thoroughly enjoying this tale.
Exceptional story(s). You know it's a good book, when you tear up, at certain points in it. Few grammatical errors, like words left out, but not enough to make the book(s) unreadable, and still enjoyable. Great story, characters, and world building. On to the next one, in the series.
If you like this sort of dark fantasy, with some epic battles and a fun main character...then you likely will love this series. I think you will know within 4-5 chapters if this is your cup of tea, if so enjoy.
SHALLOW. That is what I would have to say about this book. The characters are one dimensional with little or no growth. The plot is weak and predictable. The battle scenes are repetitive. There is no drama or real conflict. Romance reads like a 12 year old wrote it to a sitcom formula.
IN other words blah. I was continually trying to skip unimportant dialog and actions because they didnt add and suspense because you knew one page later what was going to happen anyway.
This book had strong story points it could have built on tooo.... I dont know ... to make it interesting, but he decided to write crap. And skip really interesting character development like rachel and her past, or having another Demonsoul who isn't bat shit crazy then have the main character i don't know have a moral crisis on whether to or not save her and her unborn child or even have one of his bastards show up and say daddy. I'm sure some whore got knocked up. But you get my point lots or interesting character development to work with. But we get instead get blah boring watered down action wanna be ....... i give up.
Also irrational decisions for plot reasons make my head hurt. Evil magic son of lord who is trying to kill you let live when he is clearly using bad jewjoo. Even you girlfriend and your gut feelings tells you to kill him but no... we'll cart the half dead son of a bitch back home to be our villain next book.
Then lets kill the girlfriend then 2 books later.. nope not dead. I hate that crap. If you needed new chick for your formulae at least make it her twin sister or something then do some dramatic writing. But NO, it's "hey im not dead" then everyone else "OK". Really, really that is really LAME. I mean One person might just say "hey dead people came back to visit!! let's investigate this". But no its "lets fuck" because i didn't get to do you in book one because i love you so much even though we slept together every night for weeks.
And lat but not least my biggest pet peeve the slow dumb MC. Yes i know have hard it is to write for MC with normal to high intelligence. We cant be having the MC see though all those plot holes. never mind this will never go away ...... because we get now character growth ever
Well this has been therapeutic after sloging through this what ever is was but i'm so happy no that its over.
I already rated book one of this series and finally got to read more of it. What I like the most is that the books pick up where the previous one left off. There is not a skip of 7 years or a chapter with back story to catch you up. It is right there. I thoroughly enjoyed this series would recommend it any one. Mr Moeller did another great job in story telling.
