It's been awhile since I read this book. I'm reading Advanced Enochian right now. It's interesting how every comment on Schueler's books is a negative one. Not a single review that I have seen anywhere has anything positive to say about Schueler's Enochian books. There is a word for that. It's called SPAM! What's funny is a bunch of post modern magicians will all nod their heads in approval when they're told you can invoke Bugs Bunny ( ala Chaos Magick) but if someone like the Schuelers puts together a Modern Enochian system it's met with derision. The Schueler's have PHD's. What degrees do the other Enochian experts have? Schueler never claims his books are authentic Edwardian Enochian. No one knows how Enochian was supposed to work anyway so it's anyones ball game. When it comes to studying a subject read every book you can. Be suspicious of anyone who tells you not to read something. Maybe they don't want to to know something they know. Maybe they were schooled by Schueler and want to keep him a secret! Advanced Enochian looks like instructions for a Magickal Order, at least to me. Find out for yourself!

If your not a fan of Stiff Necked Edwardian Fundamentalist Christian Enochian Magic then read the Schueler's books on Enochian. There is plenty of references to Crowley and Theosophy. Be wary of negative reviews of the Schueler's. It's just SPAM from other publishers of Enochian books. If the Schueler's books were to be reprinted today they would be heady competition for the Stiff Necked Edwardian Fundamentalist Christian Enochian books that are all the rage today! "The word of sin is restriction!"

You have to almost feel bad for the Schueler's at this point. What with the exceptionally scholarly work that has been coming out since the publication of Geoffrey James' The Enochian Magick of Dr. John Dee or with the more recent offerings of Skinner and Rankine. Western esotericism in the last decade has witnessed a resurgence in the interest in Enochiana, and with every work published the Schueler's credibility has slipped. So much so that they no longer merely just call it the Enochian system of magic, but rather Schueler's Enochian Magic! From their website: "There are, in fact, numerous schools and interpretations of Enochian Magic. Schueler's Enochian Magic is Enochian Magic as defined and used by Gerald and Betty Schueler." Way to hedge one's bets, guys.

You got to laugh at any attempt to make Enochian magic seem practical. It's hard enough to make it seem plausible. Get your red broomstick handle ready!
