As a US Veteran (Navy during Vietnam era), I am very concerned about the potential erosion of our military capability caused by societal perceptions of how our culture should be shaped as clearly detailed with specific examples cited in this book.
Our military forces are a separate entity from the US social world and should be managed according to their purpose - to defend our country and deal with conflicts - specifically when deadly force is needed. Fighting a military combat situation greatly differs from having "social" conversations at parties and dinner events and different rules should be applied.
