Who does this smug, number-crunching ice queen think she is?
Oh, right—my new co-lead on the biggest campaign of my career.
When my marketing firm merged with our top competitor, I thought I'd seen everything. Then I met Sophia Martinez.
She's a strategic genius who never met a risk she didn't overanalyze. We're like oil and water, and butting heads is putting it nicely.
If it wasn't for her killer legs in those power suits...wait, what?
As we navigate treacherous corporate politics and an inside mole threatening to tank our biggest launch ever, I start to see there's more to Sophia than meets the eye.
Our battles go from heated to smoldering with tension you could cut with a knife. But with shocking betrayals and a looming public scandal that could cost us everything, giving in to this attraction might be the riskiest move of all.
In the dog-eat-dog world of San Francisco marketing, all's fair in love and war. And I'm ready to play for keeps.
This was my second book by Kismet Kaye and though I liked the first book, this one wasn‘t for me.
Though the writing style is easy and therefore you flow through the book, the story is just…not good. It‘s repetitive and in some points even a bit unbelievable. Like that scene with that guy Alex? He just collapsed after they found out he was one of the moles and we never hear of him again, even though he said there are others? Big plothole!
Then the scene where the maincharacters have their first spicy encounter in the unlocked office, in the middle of the day, when anyone could just walk in. While someone is out to get them?
This book feels rushed and as if some chapters have just been written as fillers. Which is a shame. The spicy scenes were topnotch again and we need more LGTBQ+ representation in books.
Sophia a data analyst ppis made boss of the new team following the merger of 2 companies Cassie has a creative spirit who runs a productive team.
When they 1st meet despite the uncertainty they both seem drawn to each other even if suspicious of each other. As they work together to make the team work and route out a destructive mole trying to destroy the company.
A they work together the attraction grows the story unfolds and a great read is had. So yes this is a great story with wonderful characters that you may well fall in love with.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
As soon as Sophia joins the firm as Co lead for a campaign sparks fly between her and Cassie, they have diametrically opposed skills and methods and each are fighting their own corners. But turn a mole pops up and threatens the whole campaign so to save it Sophia and Cassie have to work together. Soon things get steamy in the boardroom as enmity turns to attraction. The girls are starting to fall for each other but with someone trying to destroy the company they have to push their feelings aside and fight against corporate politics. This was a fresh, modern office based romance with an engaging storyline.
I enjoy the writing style of Kismet Kaye. I always find her writing easy to read and she writes in a way that easily makes me feel immersed in the world she’s created. That being said, this book was a miss for me unfortunately. The story practically repeats itself at least 5 times. I felt like it was Groundhog Day! It is also really quite unbelievable in parts and found myself saying “that would never happen” a few times. I would definitely recommend Kismet Kaye in general but I wouldn’t recommend this book.
Love this captivating slow burn but eventually hot rollercoaster novel. A 5🌟 for storyline but some printing errors that repeated but looking forward to more of Kayes novels.
Wow what a beautiful love story I loved the main characters their connection was embedded beautifully the story just flowed seamlessly a must-read congratulations.
This book was quite disappointing to be honest. There was no cohesiveness, no actual plot and a lot of repetition. It felt unrealistic and at some points so vague (the plotline) that it was really hard to follow. It seemed at some points that the characters suffered from amnesia, since some actions felt like it happened for the first time, even though it had already happened (first time they had sex for example, their kisses they shared). Some sentences were repeated almost word by words, only separated by a few other sentences. It also felt like it was 80% emotions and only 20% plot, which made you lose the plot entirely. I wasn’t really able to enjoy this book, but I will try to read another book from this author, which I’ll hopefully be able to enjoy.
