Now, Delilah’s awakened a spirit that wants revenge and is willing to use Delilah to get it. Because the killer’s still out there. His obsession is growing. He’s chosen his next target. 4☆ This is a prequel to Ruth Corvin's, Delilah Danu Psychic Suspense Thrillers series. It provides a nice glimpse into the main characters and Corvin's writing style.
Lilah has the ability to see ghosts, an ability that she struggles to manage. One ghost who dogs Lilah, and who seems to want to kill her, is Cindy, Lilah's six year old younger sister. Although how Cindy died decades ago is not clear, Lilah believes that she caused Cindy's death. I hope that Corvin explains the reasons Lilah and Cindy believe that Lilah killed Cindy early on in the series.
Lilah's family operate a salvage yard and when an old car is brought in Lilah finds a woman's belongings in the car's trunk. Immediately Lilah knows that something is wrong and she learns that the woman went missing twenty years ago. Everyone thought that Charlotte left town to chase her dreams of becoming a rockstar.
With the help of her cousin, Garth and her boyfriend, Seth, Lilah sets out to find out what happened to Charlotte all those years ago. With additional aid from Charlotte and a mysterious raven Lilah follows clues to solve Charlotte's murder.
I received a free copy of Resurrecting Spirits and I am leaving this review voluntarily. And, I will be continuing the journey with Lilah!
I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up this book. I was drawn to the cover, knew I enjoyed psychic tales, so dove right in. I'm glad I did.
Liliah is a likable character with interesting abilities. Her guilt for her sister's death is misplaced, but honest. The relationship began this troubled woman and Samuel is both endearing and sad. It adds a realistic romance into a dark mystery.
Ingo is a fun and humorous addition. I loved his relationship with Lilah's father. You know, it's probably obvious the cast really brought this tale to life - even the ones that were dead!
The plot was interesting with a sound mystery. There were paranormal elements to thrill and some offbeat tidbits to make you wonder... what's to come? Does the author have more in store for us? I hope so!
I recommend this book. I see the potential of a series.
