AJ Scudiere continues to blow me away with her ability to draw me into her stories. Sacrifice is an incredible continuation of the Nightshade Forensic Files series. As each character from previous installments made their appearance, my excitement grew. I could not stop reading.
While I hated that a character from the beginning of the series died in this one, it made perfect sense and fit the title perfectly. However, I will state that I am getting annoyed that the only bad guys that seem to die are the foot soldiers. The big bads seem to keep progressing to the next book in the series. At this rate, I find it difficult to imagine any protagonists surviving long enough to end any antagonists.
The author has raised the bar on her battle scenes to the point that she may find it difficult to make them any more intense.
While I highly recommend Sacrifice to everyone, They definitely want to begin reading this series at the start. Sure, all the books are stand-alone, but a lot of what happens in this book will potentially spoil the earlier ones. I give Sacrifice 5 stars.

Christina Pines is on a mission to locate pieces of parchment that contain parts of an ancient spell that have been scattered around the world. Miranda Industry is on a mission to find Christina before she makes her way back to the de Gottardi / Little farm to secure the parchment pieces with other pieces they have gathered. The goal is to find as many, if not all, of the parchment pieces to complete the document that contains the spell which is thought to be extremely powerful. What ensues is an intense battle over control of the parchment pieces which involve mysteries, supernatural powers, and Nightshade agents. Who will prevail? The farm residents and Nightshade agents or Miranda Industry? At what cost? Read this intriguing story to find out.

This is the 12th installment of the Nightshade FBI files. I have read them all and loved them all. The evolving of the story and the way things keep happening keep me up all night reading.
This book features Christina Pines who can make you think how she wants. She has been all over the world looking for parchment pieces-- they hold a powerful spell which will change the world. Maranda Industry are chasing her.'
I loved the story, action, and history. This book is one of the best, but I do hate losing a few of my favorite people. But that is war.

Our Nightshade Agents are once again embroiled in an absolute action packed storm of betrayal, murder, mystery, loyalty, and another epic battle for survival. Every page turned introduced a nail biting scenario making me want to cover my eyes like I was watching a scary movie! Will the Gottardi Farm survive? Who can be trusted? Who has waged war on this peaceful community? When I say I could not put this book down? I literally could not until the final sentence. Buckle up and bring your tissues!!

What do you do with an author who can build characters so deep they live with you between books and even after the series ends? Does she coddle them and give them cottages with picket fences. Well, yes to the cottage no to the coddle. I’d say don’t get attached but what good would that do? I’m attached.
The Nightshade story continues with one of the most suspenseful and heart rending episodes yet. And it’s not over.
Did I say five stars? Yeah. I need a cookie.

Oh my gosh, what a wild ride AJ took me on in Sacrifice! I know I sound like a broken record, but this author sure knows how to keep the pages turning. I loved getting to know the De Gottardi/Little compound and the people who keep it running. So much happened, so many questions answered, and yet so many left unanswered. I cannot wait for #14!!!

This is a thrilling read.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building.

AJ has done it again!! Packed full of magic, mystery, intrigue, betrayal, and all of your favorite characters, you won't be able to put this book down. Prepare yourself for a ride on a wild emotional rollercoaster and witness the ultimate expression of selfless love for family!

AJ makes it hard to put this book down! Knowing the series is ending soon I tried to savor it. Well there is no way to do that. You get to know a few lesser known characters a lot better. She really draws you in.

Was action packed but very short. Seemed much shorter than the other books. More like a novella. It was all over in less than 2.5 hrs. Was easy to pick up where I left off reading the series last year. All memories of the characters came back. I hope the next one is much longer.

Wolves and witches, addictive
This series is so much fun to read. It is racing and fast, you can't put it down. Spies, traitors, families and friends. The pages are turning to reveal the answers. The witches, wolves and gifted are very entertaining.

I really enjoyed AJ's prose as the Nightshade crew battles the bad guys. High energy with challenges makes a good read.
