Life is not a project plan.My suspect, a gorgeous woman with three doctorates and a kid, disagrees. However, if she thinks she can strategize her way out of the mess she’s created, she’s sorely mistaken.
For one thing, the FBI frowns on US citizens selling hi-tech weapons to our enemies. Secondly, arms dealers hate being conned; a corrupt congressman, even less.
To find her buyers, my boss insists I go undercover and sleep with her. When the line between seducer and seductress smudges, I step back but it’s too late.
For the first time in years, my heart is engaged. I either prove her innocence or die trying.
Heated scenes and page turning action may cause sleep deprivation. HEA Guaranteed.
Amazon Best Seller Stella Marie Alden loves Zumba, yoga, watercolor painting, and all genres of romances.
Her first book, ‘How to Train Your Knight’, won Romance Writers of America coveted Molly and Show me the Sparks Contests, and placed in four others. Truly remarkable, considering she’s only been writing for three years.
Growing up in Vermont, she loved to make up stories. Crayons fought each other over size and placement in their cardboard box and imaginary friends crowded the house. Her brother often complained. “Tell her no one’s here, Mother.".
Her career paths have varied. She’s been a librarian, a classical clarinetist wanna-be, recording studio engineer, broadcast electronics repairman, and now she architects software programs.
She lives in Bergen County, NJ with her life-long hero and their two cats. Her two girls are grown but ever supportive. You go Mom!
Once again, Stella Marie Alden has given us one helluva ride with Axel Wulf. From those piercing blue eyes to that silver tipped hair, this man will steal your breath away…and keep you guessing as to how the story will unfold. I’m going on record and will state unequivocally that five stars is absolutely NOT enough for this amazing book!
This book is put together with absolute perfection…the storyline is incredible; the characters play off each other perfectly; the plot twists and turns really keep you hopping; and the HEA truly melts your heart. How can you possibly go wrong with this cast of characters? I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough!
You definitely need to add this one to your TBR list! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and can’t encourage you enough to join me in reading this top notch book!) ❤️❤️❤️
The relationship between Wulf and Gwen is interesting there’s quite a bit of chemistry between them. Right from go this book had me well and truly hooked. Great plot that’s well written. I highly recommend reading this book. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Oh my gosh, Stella Marie Alden has done it again! Axel and Gwen sort of give me Suds and Sam vibes. Gwen has a brilliant mind but she’s emotionally blind and a little awkward. She has a sweet daughter who is her life but also has an ex husband who needs to be extinguished in the worst way imaginable…can you tell I don’t like him? Axel is calm, direct…very professional…until he meets Gwen then all his professionalism starts falling by the wayside. He’s hooked, and luckily for us she is too. I almost left out one of the most exciting parts of the book…we get to visit with Lucky all the way through! Lucky is one of my most favorite Patten bodyguards and fortunately for us Gwen works for his wife Callie…yes she’s that freaking intelligent…like off the charts! Anyway, I love that Lucky pops up all through the book, he’s so adorable! As with all of Ms. Alden’s books, there’s non stop action, sexiness overload and constant hilarity! I swear Gwen needs to meet Sam, they could be good buds, maybe even try out a memory zapper thingy like Men In Black…not saying she has one but not saying she doesn’t either…she works and out hangs with Callie and Jenna Jones…it could happen. Great, quick read…hopefully we’ll see more of these two soon…another series?!
Another great book from Stella with crossover characters. Axel and Gwen are something else. Had me laughing out loud & sitting on the edge of my seat. Page turner for sure. Another series in the making??? Bring on more of them.
Non-stop action, conflict from every angle page turner
Alex Wulf by Stella Marie Alden introduces her reader fans to two new characters while including beloved characters from previous books. As a fan, it was ‘what’s not to love?’ But, I think, for new readers, it’s ‘wow! What a ride!’. Welcome to Stella’s world people. She intrigues you with plot, plot twists and nefarious doings of dastardly antagonists as her amazing protagonists dodge and weave near misses and set backs as their hearts engage, fracture then mend. Alex Wulf is no exception to the alpha hero rule, and the protective alpha we all love to read about. Listening to his gut and heart rather than just relying on experience saves Gwen, her daughter and the day. Gwen is super smart (amazingly so!) and having come out of an abusive relationship, finds it difficult to trust. Because of her braininess, she thinks she’s got it all figured out to handle it on her own. Alas, it’s not the case at all, and yet another blow to her heart first, her pride second. In dealing with her dangerous situation, she finds her heart saying one thing, but her head, speaking much louder, in opposition. Working with Axel becomes a matter of life and death in more ways than one. Overall, both Gwen and Axel eventually listen the right organ, their hearts. Axel saves the day, his lady love and her daughter, giving them a much deserved HEA chance for their little family. By the end, Axel won my heart as a favorite alpha I’ll likely remember for some time to come! I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
This was another fun romp from Stella Marie Alden. The book was filled with witty banter between the characters, plenty of action and steamy moments. I enjoyed all the big bad wolf references throughout and the quotes with each chapter heading. This book is everything I expect and enjoy in a book by Ms. Alden. The plot kept me interested from start to finish even though I knew from the start that Gwen wasn’t selling technology to other countries, I was engaged in figuring out what was going on and how it would be resolved I loved Gwen’s quirky personality and how strong she was especially after the way her ex-husband gaslit her throughout their marriage and since their divorce. Axel made a great romantic partner for her, and he quickly learned to roll with her quirks. I was a bit surprised how quickly she forgave him for lying to her and using her to try and make her confess. I received an advanced copy of this book from the Author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Stella Marie Alden gives the reader another great couple that will have you laugh out loud, swoon, and keep you engaged from beginning to end. This story has a fast paced storyline and an amazing cast of characters. It is the perfect mix of action/suspense, witty banter, and hot, steamy moments. The main characters had amazing chemistry from the get-go and the story keeps us turning the pages for more. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us next! Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review. Even though I received this for free, I have purchased the ebook copy of this book and will definitely purchase more from this author for my Kindle when they come out.
On the beach, Axel helps a woman whose co-worker is shot but no bullets. Axel is undercover(FBI) and Gwen works with Lucky’s wife, Callie, working on EMF weapons. Axel is staying on Gwen’s tail to find out if she sold this information to other countries making her a traitor. He is attracted to Gwen as well is she attracted to him. Gwen is worried about her daughter who is with her husband for the summer, who is from Iran. After time goes on many things happen to clear Gwen, keep her daughter safe and the love between Axel and Gwen.
Gwen sees an attempted murder of her colleague, Henry, suddenly a dog and man appear, where from? She's convinced she saw a gun but doesn't want to draw attention to herself. Axel is there to investigate her, undercover, but is immediately attracted to her, which makes scrutinising her very difficult. Gwen appears to be autistic as she doesn't always understand facial expressions and is very focused on her job. So who is the baddie? Can Axel ignore the chemistry and do his job?
Another great read from Stella, the start of a new series?
This is a story that kept me guessing! Typically it’s not hard to see what direction a “case” is going, but this one was different! SMA gives us unique circumstances that I have never read before! I loved not knowing whodunnit but I’m a little mad at my radar for not figuring it out! lol. And Gwen and Wulf have such great chemistry that the sexual tension is off the charts for a little bit! I loved seeing Wulf’s perception of Patten and vague references to Suds. Add in Callie and Lucky to get the perfect mix of new and old. Plus the DB ex and an adorable kid? Perfection!! If you’re new to SMA books this is a great place to start! Then go read the rest!
Wulf and Gwen. What a great couple! Axel is an FBI agent tasked with keeping an eye on Gwen who is suspected of selling weapon secrets. Gwen thinks she’s got it all figured out…how to keep her daughter safe and her coworkers all safe from the bad guys. Axel must get her to revel the truth while he struggles with his developing feeling for the brainy scientist. As in all Stella books, there are lots of twists and turns and a rollercoaster ride of adventure. Loved this new couple!
Axel is looking for someone who is sending information to the wrong company or person. Gwen is the person he looking into. They meet and there is chemistry right away. Her husband has her daughter. She get a note that says she in danger .This story has love, danger and lots of action. You will find who the perpetrator was and how Axel finds trouble himself. You will love the relationship between Gwen and Axel.
Loved this new couple from Stella Marie Alden, she has such a great way of making her characters come to life to tell their story whilst bringing humour and hot, hot chemistry in as well. Those of you who have already read previous books by the same author will be delighted to know that Lucky is featured here too - if you haven’t already met him I would strongly advise you to read his story too. This book is fast paced, as FBI agent Axel is tasked with investigating Gwen who is suspected of leaking information - but nothing is as simple as that. I hope this couple will be featured in more stories going forward.
It was a full action story, sometimes a bit woozy for me, I had to read it twice to know what is going on. The characters were smart and funny, nice banter like always. She was witty and had a good kind of humor and was pretty brave. He was of course the ranger soldier Typ and liked her from the beginning. All in all a nice little story with a lot of action.
Loved This Book. It will have you hooked from the very beginning. Axel and Gwen will have you drooling. This book has it all drama, suspense and a whole lot of chemistry. Never a dull moment. A whole lot of excitement in this one. Mrs Alden did it again. I hope she brings us more of this couple. I highly recommend this book.
I started reading this as I was going to bed. I thought I would read a few chapters and finish in the morning. Nope! I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. This wasted no time getting started. Amazing, exciting, fast-moving story. Just when I thought I had things figured out, another twist would come along to throw me off. Great story
This book was worth the wait. An amazing story line that weaves elements from other stories(but you don’t need to read them to follow) and cutting edge technology. You add in smart yet sassy characters and what a wild ride, be prepared to read well into the night! This author never disappoints and I highly recommend;y recommend this book.
Loved this book! Gwen will do anything to protect her little girl and her bosses kids but that all goes up in smoke when she's arrested for selling secrets, axel is an fbi agent and is in charge of watching Gwen but never expecting to fall for her. Can he keep her out of jail before she loses everything?
As always, Stella never disappoints! I really enjoyed the new characters and their love story. Getting to see old friends from previous books just makes it that much better!
Loved seeing the Patten crew here. They do add to the fun. I thought Gwen was going to be an introverted nerd, but she surprised me. I loved her snark and thought processes. Wulf was a bit of a jerk but came good as the book progressed. Loved it.
Fast paced and intense. As the big bad wolf takes care of business and the woman, he learns he is going to make the most important arrest of his career. I love how characters from other books appear and work alongside the main characters of the book. Can't wait for another one Stella Marie Alden.
Axel Wulf is a FBI agent tasked with keeping an eye on a suspect. She specializes in weapons, and the FBI believes her to be selling secrets to the enemies. (Just like the book, yep, we are jumping right in.) While watching Gwen, all plans of catching her in the act go off the rails so he tries to get her to confess. When that plan also fails, he is ordered with getting up close and personal to see if she will confess or to see what she knows. The confession part winds up being quite difficult but the up close and personal part…not so much.
To highlight another book, Lucky, we meet him and his now wife Callie. Well Callie is Gwen’s boss so we instantly know that Gwen is brilliant. When Gwen finds herself being threatened for weapons secrets, she does what she does best; comes up with a plan. But somewhere along the line, her plan starts to fall apart. Now she is partnered with a FBI Agent Wulf and struggles with what to tell him. She seems to loose all her brain cells around him as he is too good looking. But when everything hits the fan, she has no choice but to trust him.
As with all of Stella’s books, you hit the ground running from chapter 1. They are short read but in no way lack details. They are fast paced, entertaining from start to finish, steamy, and keep you intrigued throughout. Love the tie in with other characters and highly suggest every character’s book. They, like this book, all are amazing!
Stella does it again! We meet a new team that are an absolute hoot and we’re off to the races! Someone working under Lucky’s wife, Callie, is leaking information about the secret weapon they are working on to an outside source and everyone is determined that Gwen is the leak. Danger ensues during a team building exercise and that is when Gwen and Axel meet! It’s a roller coaster ride of an adventure as Axel tries to find the proof that Gwen is guilty while hoping she’s not! The chemistry between the two and shenanigans will ensue! As always, there’s more to the story than meets the eye and we will find out the truth as the story unfolds. In normal Stella fashion, our heroes find themselves in quite a bit of danger and this time is no different. Bring in the Patten Securities team and you get quick results! In the end, once the danger is past and the bad guys apprehended, our heroes get the chance to get their happily ever after!
I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
This is yet another great read from the pen of Stella Marie Alden. Gwen has been accused of selling high tech weapons to a foreign adversary and Axel Wulf, FBI has been assigned the case and is convinced she is guilty. Gwen doesn't have a filter and she just says what she feels, whilst Axel's replies are witty. As he tries to get a submission of guilt from her, Gwen's daughter gets threatened. Gwen's continues with her convoluted story of what she is been up to. But as the danger to her increases, Axel becomes less convinced of her guilt. Meanwhile our old friends from previous books help out, Quinn, Lucky, Jack, Hands, Suds, Wheels and Slate. Also being an animal lover , I loved Bear. There are a few fraught nail-biting moments. But as with all Stella's wonderful books, an HEA is awaiting us at the end of the book. Loved it!!! I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and I voluntarily leave this honest review.
The story was very creative and captivating. It was a fast paced insta-love suspenseful romance and I think one of Stella Marie Alden's best to date. The characters were fun and flirty. Both were equally likeable and easy to root for.
Axel and Bear were both amazing. I loved that Bear was such an integral part of the story and that he was a mixed breed, as I have a soft spot for mutts. Axel was both sweet yet commanding in his interactions with Gwen. He knew his job and he did it well.
I enjoyed that Gwen was unique. She was exceptionally smart and good in her field but she also was unaccustomed to social interaction and reaction cues. This set her apart from other heroines and made her memorable and likeable.
I really enjoyed this story. It was a quick read but well put together and an enjoyable experience. I would recommend it!
I loved this book! It has everything you would want with suspense, mystery, betrayal, and love to mention a few. The FBI was watching Gwen as they think she sold plans for a highly secret gun. I loved FBI agent Axel Wulf who was tasked to getting Gwen to admit what she had done. Gwen is super smart, but had been mentally beat down by her ex husband. There are no words to describe how evil he was. Axel and Gwen go on so many thrilling adventures concerning her daughter and the what she had done about selling secrets to another country. I was always on their side while trustworthy people were putting road blocks in their way and making so much suspense. There were misunderstandings that caused trouble in Axel and Gwen’s attraction. I strongly encourage you to read the book.
Another great read full of excitement and heat. We have an undercover FBI agent [Wulf] following a suppose traitor [Gwen] but things never are as easy as planned. Not only does Gwen work with Lucky's wife Callie but they are inventing very high-tech sci-fi type of weapons. Wulf is tasked with finding out who is sending information to foreign gun dealers and Gwen is the #1 suspect. But when feelings get involved Wulf's job gets even more complicated. Can he protect Gwen and her daughter while also finding out the truth and what happens if she's guilty? Loved this couple and their story. Didn't want the story to end, hope we get more of them later. Highly recommend. I voluntarily read an arc and this is my honest review.
Clear your schedule....you will need a day to read, absorb and relive this story. It is worth each and every word. Not to worry, Axel amd Gwen's story takes off at the start and it's a steady run from beginning to end. You will have no trouble getting hooked and tuning the world out. I loved the wolf quotes along the way, so creative. Now Axel, he is a handsome man of many talents and we get just a taste of the possibilities he could bring to these pages. Gwen, she is finding her own but she has to take out her past once and for all to move forward. I loved all the characters of previous stories pulling together to overcome the twists and turns that Stella has flawlessly weaved into their path. This story needs more stars but it strongly hits the max five. Enjoy!
Is she? Is she not? Despite his near conviction that she is a traitor selling secrets to enemies of the United States, Axel Wulf, FBI agent, falls for beautiful nerd, Gwen. He works undercover and his orders are to discover the truth by any means necessary, also hum… under the covers. You get action, romance, pursuits, shooting, abductions, all the necessary elements for a fast-paced, riveting story. Also, appearances of Patten Securities guys and Suds, and Jason. And absolutely hilarious quotes about the big bad wolf.
