Dead to their pasts. Ghosts. No family ties. No connections.

Six men with a top-secret mission move to a small town where they have to navigate local life, protect their secret, and, above all, stay single.

Former Hostile Operations Team soldier Blaze "Shadow" Connolly knows what it’s like to lose everything. He’s got nobody except his job and his team and that’s the way he likes it.

But when he walks into a gas station during a robbery and locks eyes with Emma Grace Sutton, he knows he’ll do anything to protect the pretty girl with the blue glasses.

ER doctor Emma had a bright future until her ex-boyfriend became the kind of nightmare she was certain could never happen to her. With her self-esteem shattered and her confidence in ruins, she left a promising career and returned to her hometown to take over her dad's small family practice. It's not what she wants, but it's what she needs to rebuild her life.

Until she gets that prickly feeling she's being watched again. Did her ex follow her to Sutton's Creek or is she's imagining things? Is she in danger or is it PTSD? She doesn't know, but she knows a man with the skills to find out. The ruggedly handsome sexy protector who saved her from a bullet once before.

Blaze isn’t supposed to get involved. Doing so could put the mission at risk. But how can he turn Emma away when the desperation in her eyes hints at even darker secrets? He can’t — and that might just be the final nail in his coffin.

I love this trope and I got addicted to reading this one. It has been a while since a story captivated me. Great story line and the characters were spot on. Some triggers for abuse and violence. Medium heat but Blaze is a sweetheart. Definitely reading more of this series! 💥

Just ok.

I liked elements of this but there was something just a little off that has me holding back. Blaze and Emma are likeable enough, but a tad basic and boring. Nothing particularly stood out about them. Blaze is never able to fully reveal what his mission is and has to keep things from Emma. She accepts it but I didn’t like it. It’s probably realistic but I’m not looking for realism. TELL HER YOUR SECRETS! So much of the angst between them centers around him not being able to open up to her and for them to just accept he would always have secrets with her felt like an unsatisfying compromise. The secret mission the guys are on is way down in the plot line hierarchy. I would have liked to know more and am sure we will in future books. Finally

Despite my mini rant above this wasn’t terrible. I love romantic suspense but really struggle to find series that can balance the plot, danger and romance. I’m cautiously optimistic this will get better.

Blaze🔥

Blaze is the first book in the Ghost Ops series and is SPECTACULAR🙌

Blaze and his team are called to perform a top secret mission, which leads them to a small town. They set up shop and one day on his way to get a pulled pork sandwich, Blaze stumbles into a armed robbery😳 Emma happens to be one of those in the shop with him and it soon turns out that she is more than a stranger, but his neighbour too🙃

A great story that had sooooo many moving parts but I’m definitely looking forward to getting to know this team and exactly what they’re doing in this small town❣️I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review😎

It's been so long since I read a Lynn Raye Harris book, and this book surely doesn't disappoint.

Blaze is the first book in her new series Ghost Ops and what a start it was.

Emma, losing someone at a young age changed her way of thinking, and so she was determined to become a doctor with the hope that she will be able to fix people when they are hurt. Years later Emma, leaves her life in the city and returns home, but what she hasn't told anyone is that she's running from someone very dangerous.

Blaze, he is one of six well trained operatives, he and his friends are ghosts, with one mission. Protect their country, to do this they are in disguise as former military starting over as civilians. Blaze is loyal and protective but also has demons of his own. He struggles to face them and will never talk about his painful past.

...what an amazing start to Lynn Raye Harris's new series.

Emma and Blaze had an instant connection, the chemistry was 🔥 and I was literally going, just kiss already a few times.

Blaze struggled to be with Emma due to his secrets but protecting her was second nature to him, and falling for her happened, and there was absolutely no way he was letting her go.

The suspense weaved into this book was amazing, and most certainly had me on edge.

Very Different from her other Series
I’ve been a huge fan of Lynn Harris and devoured the HOT series & Black Ops Series
Those books had awesome Suspense, Excitement, Hot exciting men, humor and strong ties to their team
I’m thinking maybe Lynn wanted to appeal to her church members with this book because it was sooooo slow and snoozy for both the suspense part and the relationship of the two main characters
Their interactions were so virtuous and Sandra Dee like.
Not saying that’s bad but definitely not what I expected based on reading the HOT series
The two only shared a kiss at 75% of the story and by the time they finally made love I didn’t care
Lynn has had other books in a sleepy slow town but she always made the characters in it make up for it with their exciting personalities but not the case here
I listened to this on audio and that often brings the story more to life but not so much here
I was very disappointed as I had been looking forward to this one.

I loved Blaze and Emma’s love story in Blaze by Lynn Raye Harris, book one in her Ghost Ops series, is the start kickoff to what promises to be a thrilling series, for these men and their women. This romantic suspense novel is the perfect combination of thrilling action and sizzling romance, that kept me hooked from start to finish. I enjoyed getting to know Blaze, Alex and the rest of the team.

Six HOT members are given a very top secret and undercover mission for the president; they were specifically chosen because they have nothing to lose: no remaining family and no one waiting for them to come home to. They’re merely a band of former military brothers looking to put their well honed skills to good use; or are they. They relocate to Alabama and open One Shot a place for target practice, self defense classes but no one knows about the real reason they are there. They are tasked to investigate a nearby shipping company and a specific shipment it received.

Blaze "Shadow" Connolly, a former Hostile Operations Team soldier, had an unstable childhood due to his addicted mother. His mission is clear: stay under the radar and protect his team’s secrets. When he encounters Emma Grace Sutton during a gas station robbery, his protective instincts kick into high gear. Blaze's dedication to his mission is tested by his undeniable attraction to Emma.

Emma Sutton, an ER doctor returned to her hometown to escape a traumatic and abusive relationship. She plans to work in the family practice; taking over after her father retires. She is happy to be back, spending time with her best friend Rory, and her parents, but she senses that she is being followed. Blaze becomes her protector and bodyguard, moving her in with him; in an apartment above the medical practice. The chemistry between them is explosive, but Blaze believes he can’t do relationships and Emma is “gun shy”. When Emma is kidnapped, Blaze will stop at nothing to get her back.

Ms. Harris exceeds at weaving the high-stakes tension of Blaze's secret mission with the tender growth of a romance between him and Emma. The small-town setting adds charm and a sense of community, while the lurking danger keeps the suspense alive; leaving you eagerly wanting the next story.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

The new Ghost Ops series was is fantastic.

Along with the romance between Blaze and Emma, Book 1 focuses on introducing readers to the six man team, the town of Sutton’s Creek, and a threat to national security that has the team living in Northern Alabama.

Emma is back in her hometown after running away from an abusive relationship. She is embarrassed for falling for someone like her ex-boyfriend and has kept it a secret from everyone.

Blaze is a former HOT operative selected as part of Ghost’s team to take on a longterm undercover mission that has the team relocating to Sutton’s Creek Alabama. He and his teammates have no family or close ties which will allow them to operate or disappear with limited notice of anyone.

Blaze meets Emma the day she moves back home during a gas station robbery when his operator skills come in handy to subdue the robber. The relationship between Blaze and Emma develops when she discovers he is her neighbor and he notices her reaction to feeling watched. Blaze is super protective and his team assist in protecting Emma from her ex-boyfriend/stalker.

The suspense of the storyline kicks in full gear for the last 20% of the story. I enjoyed getting to know Blaze and Emma, along with the other members of Ghost Ops in this new setting. There were some hints one or two potential future romantic matches - I am definitely interested to see where Lynn takes us with this new series!

I received a free ARC from the author; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

Blaze truly was a story of two people coming together under extreme circumstances but finding love despite both of them fighting it tooth and nail. I loved seeing how hard they fought the pull and against one another to just keep everything on the level of friendship and protector/protectee, but resistance truly was futile for these two. Blaze was a sexy alpha with painful guilt-laden memories eating him alive, but when he finally begins to let them go, he lightens up and becomes a sweet and loving mate for Emma that will become a perfect southern gentleman. Emma Grace is a strong and sassy southern lady, with a kickass streak of protectiveness, that has forgotten her inner core of steel and she just needed a good reminder of her own strength. Once she is challenged and forced to find her power again, Emma fights for herself and those she loves, against forces both internal and external until she gets life and love the way she wants it and the man she wants in her arms and her heart. I loved the passionate fire that flowed between these two from the very beginning, but once they finally lets loose the fire, it became an out-of-control raging fire (yes, I said it, sorry not sorry). I am dying for the rest of the Ghost ops guys to get their stories as Harris takes us on this journey through the mission that was so top secret that the guys had to go even more off the books than they were with HOT, because it’s bound to be an adventure for the ages.

Blaze - Ghost Ops #1 by Lynn Raye Harris

There are only three simple rules set for the newly formed Ghost Ops team and it only takes a hot minute for one of those rules to be broken. The team with no call signs or rank has set up One Shot Tactical in Alabama. They’ve been specifically chosen as they have nothing to lose, no remaining family and no one waiting for them to come home to. They’re merely a band of former military brothers looking to put their well honed skills to good use, or are they?
Blaze ‘Shadow’ Connelly a former Hostile Operation Team member with his own troubled past is more than content to be a part of this new team and new mission as he settles into life in Alabama.
Dr Emma Grace Sutton, a successful ER doctor has recently and reluctantly moved back to town to take over her dad’s practice, is hiding some dark secrets of her own with having escaped a disturbing situation back in Chicago.
The action, drama and intrigue, as well as some spirited humour begins from the first page of this well written story and keeps the reader fully engaged as the undeniable attraction between Blaze and Emma heats up and combusts.
Will Blaze be able to keep his focus on the mission while keeping Emma safe? And will Emma be able to take a chance on Blaze as she overcomes her shattered past? Will these two be able to trust enough?
The other members of the Ghost Ops team and secondary characters add great depth to the overall story.

Thanks to the author for a chance to read and review this book.

"Ghost Ops #1 - Blaze" by Lynn Raye Harris is a fantastic kickoff to what promises to be a thrilling series. This book combines suspense and romance that kept me hooked from start to finish.

Blaze "Shadow" Connolly, a former Hostile Operations Team soldier, is a compelling hero with a tragic past. His mission is clear: stay under the radar and protect his team’s secrets. But when he encounters Emma Grace Sutton during a gas station robbery, his protective instincts kick into high gear. Blaze's dedication to his mission is tested by his undeniable attraction to Emma, the nerdy and beautiful doctor with a shattered past.

Emma, an ER doctor who has retreated to her hometown to escape a traumatic relationship, is a well-rounded and relatable heroine. Her journey from a confident professional to a woman rebuilding her life adds depth to the story. The chemistry between Blaze and Emma is palpable, and their connection feels authentic and heartwarming.

Lynn Raye Harris does an excellent job of blending the high-stakes tension of Blaze's secret mission with the tender and budding romance between him and Emma. The small-town setting adds charm and a sense of community, while the lurking danger keeps the suspense alive.

"Blaze" is a great read, full of action, emotion, and passion. I loved every moment and can't wait to dive into the next installment of the Ghost Ops series. Lynn Raye Harris has crafted a captivating tale that leaves you eagerly anticipating more. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could!

Blaze is the first book of the Ghost Ops series by Lynn Raye Harris.

Blaze has seen combat. He is a special operator for the Hostile Operations Team (HOT), and lost most of his team on an assignment. The team was given bad intel and walked into an ambush. He relives that day in his nightmares, only in the nightmares he is unable to properly call for help, where in reality he did. It just didn't save the lives of his team members.

Emma was an ER doctor in Chicago, but has just moved home to take over her father's practice so he can eventually retire, and to escape a psychotic ex. She hasn't been home very often since she left for college. When she gets home, her parents give her the option of staying in her old room, or staying in one of the apartments above the medical practice. She chooses the latter, for a variety of reasons.

There are two apartments on the second floor above the medical office. Blaze is residing in one and now Emma is residing in the other. You know what they say about friendly neighbors. When Emma's apartment is broken into, Blaze, and his team, become involved in Emma's life and in her protection. This just opens the door for some hanky panky.

Emma opens up to Blaze about her ex and their relationship and what caused her to return home. But when Blaze has a nightmare, he won't open up to her about it. She is frustrated given how much she has told him about her situation. Blaze reminds her that he does not do relationships.

When Emma's best friend does not show up for a meeting and isn't answering her phone, she violates the one rule Blaze told her to always follow: Never go anywhere alone. She should have listened to him. She finds her past coming back to finish what was started.

Will the Ghost Ops team find Emma and Rory in time, especially considering Rory's medical condition? Will Emma's past finally be put to rest? Will Blaze and Emma become a true couple, especially since the reason he was chosen for this job was because he has no family and no entanglements? And what will become of Rory and Chance? They act like two young school children on the playground that like each other, but can't say it.

Connor Crais brings Blaze to life. His hurt and tragedy from his past clear in his voice. Samantha Brentmoor as Emma is a favorite of mine. Her doctor-ness, her feeling of being duped by Simon and the kitten. You can feel her love for Sassy in her words and actions.

These are grown men, in their mid-thirties, at least, yet they talk and think about women as if they're teenage boys in a locker room. For example, the use of the word knockers. Really?

Also, every woman of a certain age gets their "attributes" listed. Unnecessarily, I might add as none of them are the heroine. They are, in fact, if I'm guessing correctly, future heroines to his best friends. I do not need to know one is a leggy blonde. Doesn't matter that she's an FBI agent. Oh no, what does is that she has long legs. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Another, who is this heroine's best friend, by the way, has a banging body and a great rack. Yeah. Her. Best. Friend. But, you know, it's okay because he's never been attracted to her nor does he care that she has either. Yet these facts are mentioned. Doesn't matter that she runs and owns a business with her brother. Nope. Her looks, something she has no say over, are more important.

I'm finishing this book simply because the suspense intrigues me. I will not be continuing with the series, though, as the "heroes" are written to be kinda gross. So disappointing.

Jury's Out For Me

3.5 Stars - This is a brand new series. Blaze and Emma's story is book one. It was just okay for me because the premise of this teams mission, is what for me, feels a little disjointed. I understand the mission, but so much is put on them for the specific reasons they where each chosen...no family, no attachments to anyone, only to each other. I'm willing to keep an open mind with the series to see how it is going to work and develop. It doesn't seem fair to whoever the heroine is. It doesn't feel like what I'm use to by this author. As, I said before, I am willing to keep an open mind.

The characters are all great though. The action, hot scenes and comedic relief is wonderful. I just hope the development of the plots gets to where it feels better.

I'm loving the new team introduced in Ms. Harris's Ghost Ops series!

I just have to say I fell so hard in love with Blaze Connolly and felt all the feels when he takes the heroine into his arms the first time and she just thinks, "Safe."

Both Emma and Blaze were complex characters with interesting backgrounds (vastly different), but they are so right for each other. And I love that he took her fear and need for protection seriously, long before anyone else believed something was wrong. I enjoyed getting to know the secondary characters--future heroes and heroines, I'm sure. A great romantic suspense!

Blaze is a great start to a new spinoff series from Hostile Operations Team. Blaze and Emma are a sweet couple. As expected from Lynn Raye Harris, Emma is a strong, smart, capable female lead. I loved her from the start. She has her share if vulnerabilities, but she’s smart enough to recognize them and act accordingly to minimize risk. Don’t expect her to sit back and whine about anything. She takes advice to heart when needed and I loved that about her.

Blaze is typical HOT material. Haunted past, stubborn, absolutely gorgeous, intelligent, capable, extremely protective, always willing to jump in and save the day. The problem here is that he isn’t supposed to get too involved. Seriously, Ghost? You really thought that would work in a charming Southern town with beautiful single women hanging around? Did you learn nothing from your time in HOT?

Without giving out spoilers, I’ll touch on a couple things I liked most in this book. I like that Emma is smart enough to know there’s more to the guys than a simple gun range and shooting and self defense classes. I also like that she accepts the necessary secrecy while still trusting Blaze and his team. I love her bestie Rory and can’t wait to see how she and Chance end up together. They are hilarious in this book. Hate each other, my a$$. They both have it bad and refuse to admit it. The attraction and tension between them is off the charts! I love the setup for the next couple of book couples.

There’s plenty of tension and good action by the end of the book. All the feels you come to expect if you’re a fan of Lynn’s other work. It’s not my favorite book, but I still loved it and would listen to or read it again.

I purchased the audiobook direct from the author. The narrators did an excellent job giving each character a unique voice. Five stars for them. 4.5 stars overall. While it isn’t necessary to have read the H.O.T. series before reading this one, I highly recommend at least reading some of it in order to appreciate where the guys came from. It won’t change any understanding of Ghost Ops, but you’ll definitely appreciate it more. Also, it’s a series worth binging in its own right!

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Performance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️️
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️️

I was really looking forward to Blaze, the first volume in the Ghost Ops series. And my expectations were all fulfilled. I loved this book! Blaze is part of a team pulling off a top secret mission and he moves to a small town because of it. During a robbery at a gas station, he saves the customers, one of which is Emma. Emma has also recently come to town for personal reasons and is now supposed to take over her father's medical practice. But Emma's past threatens to catch up with her.
I really liked the small-town setting and found the residents' opinions on certain topics quite amusing at times. Blaze and Emma are two very likeable and interesting main characters who are both struggling with trauma from the past. I loved Blaze, he is a protector when it comes to Emma. Emma had her reasons for moving to the city, she knows what she wants and she senses her ex is after her.
As you read, you immediately notice that there's a sizzle and sparks between Blaze and Emma. And there is also a lot of action and suspense. But it wasn't just the main protagonists that won me over, there are also great secondary protagonists like Emma's friends Rory and Theo.

Once I started listening to the audiobook, I couldn't put it down. I was captivated by the entertaining and exciting story from start to finish. This was also due to the two narrators, who did a brilliant job.
Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor brought the story to life. Both have a pleasant voice, a great speaking pace and they both know how to convey the emotions very well. It was an absolute pleasure to listen to this audiobook!

This series is an off-shoot of the ever popular HOT series and I LOVED it. This time around the team are deep cover, giving deniability to the President. You wouldn't think small town Alabama would be a hotbed of espionage, would you?

Blaze aka Shadow is a man who overcame his upbringing. He went from the unwanted and neglected child to the overprotective, special forces soldier. He and his team have orders to stay free and clear, no relationships to leave behind if things go pear-shaped. Sadly, fate said "screw" that and drops the delightfully nerdy Dr Emma Grace Sutton in his path!

Emma has trauma of her own that's she's running home to her small home town to escape. Now she has a hulking, protective, overbearing and slightly demanding neighbour who seems determined to protect her, even when she tries to head him off at every opportunity.

Emma is incredibly intelligent, nerdy, determined ER doctor who made a bad choice in the romance department (who hasn't!) but she refuses to let her skanky ex ruin any more of her life. But the attraction to Blaze is derailing her no men policy fast. Her outgoing best-friend, Rory, adds a splash of colour and humour to her life and I can totally see why these opposites are besties!

I did guess the bad guy but had a great time trying to figure out when Blaze and Co would twig to who he was. The underlying espionage storyline is flowing nicely and I'm intrigues to see what happens in book 2. Fab new story and I heartily recommend this to all my protector romance trope bookdragons!

Blaze: (Ghost Ops Book 1) by Lynn Raye Harris pub 6/18/24 5 stars
Emma & Blaze

Ghost Ops is an indescribably delicious new series by the author. The six-man team is organized in this first book. More than special operation services of any branch of the military, they are separated from the military and set up as their own secret team. They are unique in that they are all single with no close family attachments. They have all been part of special services. They have all worked together in past dangerous assignments. No one except the team and who they answer to knows about them. They need to keep the secrecy and no serious involvements.

Blaze had no problem with that, he'd never been serious about any woman. At least not until he entered a gas and snack shop in the middle of a hold-up. He couldn't let the pretty woman customer being held at gunpoint stay in danger.

Emma has had enough danger, threats, and untrustworthy men. She fears her ex, afraid he is still stalking her. Finding out some of her problems, Blaze takes it upon himself to protect her and find the jerk, putting an end to her fear and his threats.

The characters are great guys from the leader through the rest of the six of them. The chemistry between Blaze and Emma would win a school science project. Steam and feelings neither planned keep the heat rising.

I always enjoy Ms. Harris' books and this is no exception. What a start to the new series.

As a fan of romantic suspense, I was immediately drawn to Blaze. This first book in the Ghost Ops series hooked me from the very beginning with its perfect blend of high-stakes action and sizzling romance.

The story follows Blaze, a member of the elite Ghost Ops team, as he is sent on a dangerous mission that leads him to the small town of Cloverdale. There, he crosses paths with Emma, a woman with a troubled past. I loved how Harris balanced the suspenseful espionage plot with the tender and budding romance between Blaze and Emma. The small-town setting added a charming backdrop to the lurking danger, keeping me on the edge of my seat throughout.

What really made this book stand out for me was the author's ability to craft such captivating characters. Blaze and Emma's love story is both passionate and heartfelt, and I found myself rooting for them to overcome the obstacles in their path. The supporting cast of characters was also well-developed and added depth to the story.

Harris' compelling narrative kept me hooked from start to finish. I eagerly anticipated where the series would go next, and I'm already looking forward to reading the next installment. Blaze is a fantastic kickoff to the Ghost Ops series and a must-read for fans of romantic suspense.

Overall, I give Blaze a solid 4 stars. If you're in the mood for a thrilling, action-packed romance, I highly recommend picking up this book.

This is the first book in the Ghost Ops series. Blaze was part of HOT when he and his fellow teammates get a mission that is so secretive they're basically out of the military and acting as civilians. They're picked because they have no family and no attachments except for each other.

They all agree to this mission and move to Alabama to open "One Shot" a place where people can target practice and take self-defense classes. On his way, he stops at a gas station to get the best BBQ in town but walks into a robbery. He quickly breaks it up but he meets Emma Grace, a doctor. We come to find out that Emma Grace is moving back home because she's escaping her ex and her job at a hospital in Chicago.

Emma doesn't want anyone to know about her ex and how she feels like he's followed her to Alabama. She's embarrassed that she fell for a guy who turned out to be nothing like she thought. It turns out that she moves into an apartment that her parents own and is next door to Blaze, her new friend. Slowly she tells Blaze about her fear and he has her living in his place to protect her.

Can he protect Emma while he's working on his top secret mission? Can Emma handle the life of a small town doctor and a man who disappears without telling her what he's up to?

This is a great start to this series. I can't wait to read about the others that are a part of this team!

Get ready for a new HOT team…the Ghost Ops team has arrived…and they are everything fans love and more. This group of former operatives, turned secret operatives have landed in small town Alabama with a mission no one knows about, running a facility that is perfect for a small group of ex military buddies.

They all know the deal and they are all used to caring about nothing but the mission, but Blaze is the first one to fall, and fall he does! Emma is a lifelong resident, newly returned to Sutton’s Creek, and running from something. Blaze crosses paths with her during a gas station robbery that leads to some intense moments and what follows is a man who recognizes a woman who needs protection. Of course what starts as protecting a woman who needs it turns into so much more! Readers will fall in love with the way Lynn Raye Harris, yet again, creates a group of characters that embody every bit of fantasy while allowing them to be as relatable as your next door neighbor. She always has a way of balancing suspense, humor, passion and love, and her newest series is no different! I have read every book of Lynn Raye Harris' and this is just another amazing addition to her stories. It was awesome! A perfect example of what a romantic suspense is supposed to be. I loved the way Blaze and Emma meet in the beginning. The book just jumps right into the action and never loses its grip on you! The plot slowly builds as does this suspense. I could feel the tension the characters were experiencing in every word and plot development. Blaze was the perfect combination of alpha protective male mixed with sensitivity and a bit of his own vulnerability. Emma was a great counterpart for him. She was definitely a damsel in distress but yet inside her there was that strength and determination. I loved the way their relationship slowly built - you knew it was inevitable they would be together and they knew it but was great to read the progression. The pace of their relationship felt real and it matched the pace of the plot beautifully. I also loved all the side characters - Blaze's team mates, Emma's parents, Rory and Theo. All the characters fit so well into the dynamics and I can't wait to see the rest of the buys get their books! Lynn Raye Harris' books never disappoint and I highly recommend this one. If you want to experience a great romantic suspense get this book.

Blaze is the first book in the Ghost Ops series, a spin-off of the HOT series. It was an amazing book to start the series. I was pulled into the story from the beginning and couldn’t put the book down until I finished. It was easy to read, full of intrigue, and ended with a twist I never saw coming. The characters were charming and so easy to fall in love with.
“I love you, Emma Grace Sutton. I’ve never said those words to a woman before. Never wanted to. When I said I’d always find you, I meant always. You’re it for me…”

Former HOT member, Blaze Connolly (Shadow) and his team were on a mission that was so secret they didn’t even know what it was about. They just knew they had to move to a small town in Alabama and stay under the radar.
ER doctor Emma Sutton returned to her hometown to take over her father’s family practice after a bad breakup. She thought she was imagining someone watching her, but Blaze said she needed to trust her instincts. And her instincts were telling her Blaze would keep her safe.
This was a great book and I loved meeting the Ghost Ops team. The ending of the book leads us into the next book, which is Chance and Rory’s story. I cannot wait to see how their love/hate relationship turns out.
I received an ARC, and I am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

So excited for this new series from this author and she doesn’t disappoint by starting the series with Blaze and Emma. Blaze, who has joined a Ghost team and settles in a small town to watch over a secret facility no one knows about. Their cover is owners of a gun range who also train and offer self defence classes while doing secret ops. Blaze meets Emma during robbery and from there, their story unfolds. Emma, who has moved back home to take over her dad’s practice has her reasons for the leaving a big city and it seems that it has followed her home. Luckily she has Blaze and his team on her side, she doesn’t and can’t know why he and his team are really there for, only that they have the skills and the means to protect her.
Oh my what a read with suspense, steam, surprises, twists & turns and amazing new characters that I couldn’t get enough of. Blaze…bestill my heart…loved him, his protectiveness, his vulnerability, and how he treats Emma…swoon and sigh. Emma, a strong heroine who is caring, smart, loyal and who doesn’t give up. The story flowed without skipping a beat and I couldn’t stop flipping the pages to see how it all turned out…loved it!

Great start to a new and exciting series!

This is the first book in the Ghost Ops series, and I can honestly say that it is a great story and I cannot wait for the rest of the books to come out. Blaze Connelly and the rest of his team have moved to Alabama to work a very special and undercover op for the president. Right from the start I enjoyed getting to know Blaze, Alex and the rest of the team.

The way that Blaze and Emma Grace met was perfect. It showed the readers what kind of man Blaze is and it also gave us a good glimpse into Emma Grace and what kind of woman she was going to be. I loved the sass that Emma gave to Blaze at times and in return I loved how he treated her with the kind of respect that women everywhere dream of getting from a man. The chemistry that these two developed towards one another was HOT. Throw in the danger that Emma had going on in her life and you’ll see why this is a great story. I also loved getting to know the other secondary characters in the story, like Rory and her brother Theo and also Emma’s parents. I loved everything about this story and like I said before, I cannot wait for the next one to come out.

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.

Blaze “Shadow” Connolly is a former Hostile Operations Team soldier. He and his five teammates moved to small town in Alabama on a secret mission for the president. They opened One Shot, a place for target practice and self defence classes, so no one would question why they are in this town. Emma Grace Sutton is an ER doctor. She moved back to her hometown to take over her father’s family practice because she needed a fresh start. She recently broke up with her boyfriend and she is spooked and scared.

Blaze meets Emma during a dad station robbery. He saves her from a bullet. Emma has the feeling of being watched. She is not sure if it’s just her paranoia or if her ex followed her here. She asks Blaze for help. Even through he knows he should stay away from her, he can’t. He will do anything to protect her. I loved their chemistry and passion. They were made for each other.

Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a military man, small town, romantic suspense then you’re going to love it.

A chance meeting during a robbery attempt puts Blaze & Emma on a path neither of them saw coming. Dr Emma Sutton has moved home after a disastrous relationship. The only problem, she thinks he may have followed her back to Sutton's Creek! She hasn't told her parents or her friends why she moved home & now she may be putting all of them in danger.
Blaze Connolly & his team are in town on a mission, the main rule, no attachments! No girlfriends/wives, it just makes the mission that much harder. When he notices Emma stiffen, he asks her about it. She tells him its a feeling of being watched & he tells her to trust her gut feeling, it's there for a reason. Letting him in to protect her has her heart doing funny things. When her friend doesn't show for work one day, Emma knows that her ex. is involved. Blaze & his team are right there to protect her & everyone she cares about. As the danger nears, will she realize that pushing Blaze away is the last thing she wants to be doing?
This story was awesome & a great series starter! It was suspenseful, searingly hot & oh so Alabama sweet! Enjoy!
