After years of combat with the invasive bio-machines from Andromeda, Nathan Myers and the crew of the Legacy have acquired startling intelligence from their latest Prule engagement. The Bio-machines and their proxy races are gathering technology plundered from the Milky Way galaxy and withdrawing throught the Guardian Gateways to unknown locations. The reasons behind the unexpected Prule strategy has Nathan and his crew searching for answers. Justice, the AI of the Legacy, has suggested the best way to obtain accurate data is to pursue the Prule through the gateways, and if possible, make it their final destination. This revelation could not have come at a more inopportune time. Another conflict has one of Nathan's allies embroiled in hostilites on Alpha Base's doorstep. The shooting has started and the confrontation is escalating exponentially. The Chaalt Military Council has warned Nathan, if the warfare continues to probagate, he must abandon Alpha Base or be caught up in the rapidly expanding divergence. The probability of being dragged into an intergalactic war, and the uncertainty created by the sudden change in Prule tactics, have Nathan facing his biggest challenges yet.

This is a fantastic series, on of my top 5 and I’ve read too many to count
I had felt that book 5 ended rather abruptly so I was really happy when this book came out, though it was like 2 years later. The quality of the writing continued to be top notch. Action, subterfuge, planning for the next mission, with Klutch and Coonts acting like naughty children.
Loved the conclusion as I thought that Sael really needs a man who can take the edge off. I was wondering if Tria would volunteer to share and if Nathan could boldly go where no (earth) man has gone before.
It was really exciting to read how the team captured criminal miscreants and then more Prule leaders. It was refreshing that they didn’t just jump in guns blazing, but planned the best course of action, while understanding that no battle plan survives contact with the enemy. The constant betrayal by the denizens of Andromeda after all their experiences was just too believable.
Though it ended on a high note, I am sorry that it’s over as the characters and situations have really drawn me in. A plucky earth man gets an upgrade, then is loosed on a corrupt and violent galaxy. He rises to the top, gains allies, finds a mate and administers a beat down to the wicked.
It’s the stuff of legends.
Though there are a number of excellent books out there that I have yet to read, there are also many, many mediocre ones, as well as just plain scat by obvious Throggs. That said, I will schedule a re-read of the entire series. It’s just that good! I really, really hope to see more work by the author as this is the only thing I can find by him and he has too much talent to hide. I sincerely hope that he is willing to continue to share his thoughts with us.
Once again this series is one of my highest recommendations (along with Honor Harrington, Belisarius (Thunder at dawn), Safehold, the two week curse and the jade phoenix saga).
I’m not sure I can continue with this series. This has been a decent series, easy fast read with lots of action even if some thin plot points. The problem has become earth for me. It’s like a tribal villager from Cambodia, got out, became a badass top shelf mercenary and then is like, what if someone finds out where I’m from and not only goes after my family but my whole county. And so now we’re down this rabbithole were he’s trying to figure out how to supply Cambodia with Columbia class submarines and typhoon jets so they can defend themselves. It just doesn’t make any freaking sense. I don’t know why he brought earth back into this series but in my opinion, blow that crap up and move on with the story.
Nathan is once again approaching problems as the ultimate outsider. Facing corruption that seems universal with a direct approach ignoring the odds stacked against him. Interpersonal and interspecies drama is more of the focus than science fiction in this book, but that's to be expected with more development of the storyline and characters. I would have liked to see more focus on exploration and discovery around the new galaxy and guardian technologies but the prule war was the main focus.
All in all, great book kept me turning pages till the end.
I loved the series and made it through all six books in two weeks. Enjoyed all of the different plotlines and characters and how they developed throughout the books.
What I didn't like was the ending. If Andromeda Strike really is the final book in the series, it ends on a cliffhanger and all of the plotlines in the Milky Way galaxy go unresolved. It literally needs at least another chapter, if not another book.
I have been waiting a long time for the next book in the series. This was a wonderful read. Thank you so much for my lack of sleep🙏 once I started reading it I didn't stop untill it was done
Best one yet. I really like the action this team gets to participate in. I like their use of armor in combat and the weapons technology used throughout. Thanks for a GoodRead.
I liked the story line, but the number of typos and grammatical errors were very distracting. Not sure I’ll read any more of the series since it was that annoying.
