On behalf of our client, your presence at Dalton House is kindly requested.
She’d been summoned. By the grandmother she’d never met. After missing twenty-one years of her life, why did she want to see her now?
Please make arrangements to travel before the arrival of winter weather in the Sierra Nevada.
Breanna had questions. Grandmama had the answers. But classes, friends, and parties came first. The week of Thanksgiving break would have to do.
Mountain roads can be treacherous when the snow comes.
And the snow was coming. Now. She met him in a roadside diner—Sinjin. Her dark savior. Her rescuer from the storm. Trapped together in a remote mountain cabin, he taught Breanna what she needed from a man. He warned her to be careful. And when the snow stopped falling, he was gone.
Do let me know when to expect you, Miss Dalton. I’m looking forward to meeting you.
Sincerely,
Derek St. John, Esq. ST. JOHN, MAYNARD & ST. JOHN, ATTORNEYS AT LAW
Dyan Layne is a nurse boss by day and the writer of edgy sensual tales by night—and on weekends. She's never without her Kindle, and can usually be found tapping away at her keyboard with a hot latte and a cold Dasani Lime--and sometimes champagne. She can't sing a note, but often answers in song because isn't there a song for just about everything? Born and raised a Chicago girl, she currently lives in Tampa, Florida, and is the mother of four handsome sons and a beautiful daughter, who are all grown up now, but can still make her crazy--and she loves it that way! Because normal is just so boring.
I didn't think I'd be needing an industrial strength fan in the middle of a swirling, fictional winter snowmageddon, 10,000 feet up a winding mountain road, but while gobbling up Whiteout, a steamy scorcher by Dyan Layne, I realized that was exactly what was happening. Damn, this author sure knows how to set a scene with the kind of bang that's impossible to put down. I love that about her.
Driving alone into the wild unknown was Breanna Dalton, a curious, adventurous 21 year old college student, way out of her element, but intrigued by a summons from a grandmother she didn't know she had, to come to a place she's never been. Being stranded in a cozy cabin with the tall, dark and dominant hunk of masculinity who rescued her from a raging blizzard was not how she imagined this adventure would end up. Who is this mysterious, intense man and most of all, can she find a way to keep him?? I loved Breanna and Sinjin together and could't wait to unravel the story within the much bigger one here in this unforgiving winter setting. This place was NOT for the weak of heart, mind, body or soul.
Caught between two smart powerful men, one protective and caring, the other, a calculating pushy creeper, nothing is as it seems in Dalton House. The twisted web of lies and deceptions were designed to keep Breanna in the dark about her long lost extended family and the multitude of secrets kept from her for 21 years, especially about her absentee father and grandmama. Breanna was learning what it takes to be a true Dalton and claim the inheritance that was rightfully hers.
So much to absorb and I couldn't help but be delighted by this angsty, suspenseful, sexy and surprising standalone. With it's cast of mysterious and intriguing characters, Whiteout is the kind of romance I love to sink my teeth into- dark, edgy and full of steamy goodness, with a complex and twisty-as-could-be story to keep me guessing. Dyan Layne and her wickedly creative storytelling sucked me into this new world so deeply, I never wanted this story to end. I didn't want to say goodbye to Sinjin and Breanna, it's the worst part of closing the door on a fantastic romance like this one, but I will console myself with whatever is next from this talented author.
*I received an early ARC copy of this book to read and review. All thoughts expressed were freely and honestly given.
whiteout was a very fun and spicy standalone! as usual, dyan layne is so good at writing spicy scenes and i liked how the two main characters really matched each other's freak. i read this book in 24 hours because i was THAT hooked. however, i didn't give it a complete 5 ⭐️ because i felt like the protagonist/main conflict of the story was not that important? or it wasn't really built well throughout the story that i felt like it was important to the book.
• Such a good read. It was nice to break up my dark romances with this. I stayed up until 2:30 in the morning because I couldn’t even think about putting it down and needed to find out how it ended.
• Breanna, sweet and yet fiery all at once. She has some family baggage for sure. But slowly starts to learn the truth, and the lies. Sinjin, MEGA SWOON for this man. So attentive and good to her, but a total dominant in the bedroom, we love a man who does both don’t we? Also something about a man who uses a pet name that at first annoys the FMC, but she secretly loves it too. Sure Princess , we didn’t believe you didn’t like it for a second 😏
• I loved the journey of this story. It never bored me and it just kept building. Little pieces of truths here and there, until it all was laid out. The chemistry, spice, and overall plot was really wonderful. I can’t wait for Dyans next book!
NGL, I picked this book up on a whim because the blurb sounded right up my alley and I love the cover model. I had no idea what to expect going in as I’d never read any of her books before. But I was pleasantly surprised! It was a quick, easy read and the smut started early-on and was consistent throughout the book! It included kinks that I don’t often see in romances so I really appreciated that aspect. I’ll be checking out more of Dyan’s books!
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review
I officially have a favorite book by Dyan Layne outside of the Red Door series! and I'm not surprised that it's Whiteout because in this book the author did what only she knows how to do: reveal very little of the plot in the blurb and then give me a completely unexpected, entertaining story, with characters that I fell in love with and that intrigued me a lot.
Breanna & Sinjin have a peculiar, different story that begins when they get trapped in a small cabin in the woods during a snowstorm, from the first moment the sparks jump between these two and everything escalates quickly and deliciously, BUT that's nothing, because as the story progresses Brianna discovers many secrets about her past, her present and the man who saved her from dying in the blizzard
I have to say that, at first, I thought Sinjin was going to be a difficult character to love because his attitude towards Breanna seemed a little rude to me, but even before knowing the reason for his behavior, he had won my heart: I loved his flirtatious, slightly cocky attitude and his good heart, even with people who don't deserve it, I loved getting to know more about the Daltons through him and how he fights to gain Breanna's trust.
She's a heroine very easy to love, a girl who seeks to know her past,, who knows what she wants from life and who is not afraid to get it. Her journey through the book was NOT easy AT ALL, but Breanna is a strong, brave woman who is willing to do anything to protect her legacy and the people around her.
"And with nothing more than blind faith, she let him."
Similarly, with blind faith, not knowing what awaited me, I followed Dyan Layne into this new world she created. And I was not disappointed! Whiteout is unique, mysterious, and full of suspense and characters to warm your heart. The story moves quickly and the angst and uncertainty will have you on the edge of your seat while the story and the secrets unfold! The phenomenal writing paints the best imagery and will have you dreaming of your own winter wonderland while you devour every word!
Sinjin is pure fire and captivated me before I even knew who he was! He is devilish, handsome, sweet as sin, and says the hottest things that had me melting with every chapter.
I promise whatever you think you know from the blurb, this book is hotter! I cannot recommend Whiteout or this author enough! I promise you won't be disappointed.
Breanna received a notice to meet with her grandmother that she had never met in twenty one years during Thanksgiving holidays. She leaves college has an accident and gets stuck in a snow storm. Breanna is rescued by a gorgeous male Sinjin and is snowed in a cabin with him for three days. Boy were those three days super hot until he ups and disappeared. How rude! Breanna gets to her grandmothers house but things aren’t what they seem and it makes our girl on edge. The story has the right amount of espionage and romance to keep me entertained until the last page.
A stormy Delight!! We got a first glimpse of Whiteout in the novella Dyan wrote for a charity anthology and we were left wanting and I was so excited when a full length book would be coming and let me say fans of Sinjin and Breanna will be thoroughly impressed, because we got a whole lot MORE. This book was all I expected it would be ENTHRALLING and REMARKABLE.
I couldn’t put it down I was so consumed with this storyline and it’s incredibly INTERESTING and ALLURING characters.
This story is simply BREATHTAKING!!!
When Sinjin whispered “ Forgive Me” my heart bled for Breanna. The turns of events that followed gave us an array of emotions; anger, shock and fear. The danger, revelations and relationships in this story are the additional elements that make it so INTRIGUING and ENTERTAINING.
Sinjin is that dominating, dirty talking and possessive book boyfriend that we all love and Breanna is the smart, kind and sassy girl we all enjoy.
The undeniable passion and love that Sinjin and Breanna have for each other definitely makes their story sizzling hot and beautiful. The sensual and provocative scenes are just so blissfully enticing.
Escaping into Whiteout is a very satisfying and enjoyable experience. As always Dyan Layne gives us the most FASCINATING INVITING characters with a storyline that is so EVENTFUL and MEMORABLE.
Whoaaaa. Talk about fanning myself!!! What happens when you get stuck in the snow and in a ditch? A hotter than hall man comes and saves you! Full of twists and unexpected turns - I inhaled this masterpiece!!! Wow!!
Whiteout was one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I couldn't wait to read more of Sinjin and Breanna. I loved the family drama/saga part of their story. I always love how all of Dyan's books are based in love and acceptance and when I finally felt that between the characters it made my heart pitter patter. Dyan goes there with the spice so get ready to fan yourself with the chemistry between them!
This book jumped all over thebpkace . it was a good story and premise but needs fleshing out. I had a hard time keeping up with where we were and what was happening. And it was an EXTREME FASt burn like meet , spice, love you in a week aka like 10 PAGES

Over all thoughts on book and/or author: This book was very fast paced and insta love. It was over way too soon. I wish we could have gotten to know the characters more. I've loved Sinjin since I first read him in the Billionaire and Babes anthology. There where a few scenes I would have like to be a little longer and explained a little more but over I loved this book. It's a great book choice if you want a pallet cleaner and a quick standalone. I enjoy Dyan's writing style and world building. I love, love, love all of the book boyfriends she gives us. I can't wait for our next trip to Brookside and behind the Red Door.
4.5 SPICY STARS This story begins with a bit of a spine tingling feeling of suspense and danger. It remains in the background throughout this er0tic, steamy and sometimes emotional story of Breanna and Sinjin. The story is atmospheric and the moody vibes are fantastic. The s€x is hot, naughty and delicious! The couples chemistry is spicy and intense. This author writes s€x scenes that I savor! It is a bit insta-lust, love and all that entails. The secondary characters are great, I love the feeling of secrets, danger and mistrust. I love the word and mind games that ensue when all the characters are together. It’s clever and engaging.!It makes for a very intriguing story. I wish the suspense and secrets were drawn out a bit more. I wanted a bit more of it all, call me greedy ;) I love this author’s style, this was a fun, shorter standalone from her. It was a fantastic escape! I loved it!
Whiteout by Dyan Layne is an absolute rollercoaster of a read! From the very first page, I was completely hooked. The story is filled with suspense, intrigue, and romance, making it nearly impossible to put down. I loved how her research into the snow and life of living in these mountains was so true and direct. Dyan's writing style is incredibly engaging, effortlessly drawing you into the snowy landscape of the Sierra Nevada where the story takes place. The characters are so well-developed and relatable, each with their own secrets and complexities that make them feel like real people. This story is full of unexpected twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. And let's talk about the romance - it's steamy, it's passionate, and it's oh-so-swoon-worthy. The chemistry between the main characters is off the charts, and I found myself rooting for their love story from the very beginning. Whiteout is a captivating read and Dyan Layne has truly outdone herself with this one, and I can't wait to see what she writes next! 🧡
The first several chapters of this book were previously published as part of an anthology, and when I read that, I was left wanting more. So, I was so excited to get the rest of the story. What a story it is!
Miss Dalton aka Breanna is summoned to Dalton House by the grandmother that she's never met. While she's reluctant to travel into the treacherous snow covered mountains, she seeks answers that only her grandmother may provide. Little does Breanna know that it's not just the risky trip up the mountain that she should fear.
This story surprised me. While even the blurb hints at some suspense, I still found myself on the edge of my seat worrying over Breanna. At first, I wasn't sure who to trust, who she could actually depend on to have her best interests at heart. This story drew me in right from the beginning and didn't let go. This story is hot, but it's a page turner not just for the steam factor. It took a few twists that I didn't see coming, and the ending was exactly what I had hoped for.
When Dyan Layne turns on the heat no amount of snow can put out the fire she stirs up in her latest work Whiteout!
Suspense and intrigue ruled the day in this work and edgy encounters were just the start. Summoned to a remote location in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the winter by her grandmother, Breanna Dalton's quest to find out about this unknown and mysterious side of her family was piqued.
Smart and feisty Breanna was no push over, able to give as good as she got. Being underestimated was key to this character having an upper hand in this story and she was a formidable match for the skilled manipulation she was up against. Ian "Sinjin" Maynard seemed calculating and deceptive yet there was an air of honesty about him that was relentless and proved to save the day when explosive discoveries came to light. As a couple Breanna and Sinjin bridged their age gap and differences to find a common ground and cause which flourished and was fanned by their fiery connection. This pair's attraction when set off was nuclear!
An enigmatic and interesting cast of characters will keep readers guessing in this skillfully put together plot.
Dyan Layne pushes the boundaries of love and attraction in all the best ways! Unconventional and unapologetic, this author's stories are as memorable as they are captivating. Whiteout will leave readers shivering in anticipation of every twist and turn made in this story to the very last page!
*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
This was one hell of a deliciously spicy story that had my body tinglingly all over and aching for release!
The imagery and creative world building brought this beautiful snowscape to life right before my eyes. I could picture myself traveling up the winding mountain pass and getting stranded with a stranger in a cabin during the snowstorm. And what I wouldn’t give to be stranded with that delicious hunk of man meat – Sinjin!!!
Breanna, driven by the need to get to know her grandmother after being summoned by her, takes herself on the journey of a lifetime. She has no idea what she’s in for when she starts on the winding snowy mountain pass to get to her grandmother’s house. Her world is about to implode and its up to her to decide if she will embrace it and the changes to come.
Being stranded in a cabin with Sinjin (tall, dark and deliciously sexy mountain man), definitely tested Breanna’s resolve. He had her giving into his desirous and lust filled touches and kisses and leaving her craving and longing for more.
Sinjin has one hell of a filthy mouth on him, and he has a very hard time keeping his hands to himself. The way that he follows through with everything he says he’s going to do to Breanna – UGH – I think he made me pregnant. It was sizzling HOT!!!
This story was expertly crafted with all kinds of twists and turns thrown in keeping me guessing throughout. The characters were phenomenal, and the storyline was everything I could have hoped for plus a whole hell of a lot more!
I was confused for majority of this book as to what was happening and why. I originally received it as a novella from a book conference, where it was originally published as part of an anthology. When I went to log it into my trackers, I kept seeing the same name but with more pages, which is how i found out it had been republished as a full novel. The chapter the novella left off (chapter 9) had me very intrigued in the story and where it was going next. I wasn’t sure if this story was simply a mystery, had paranormal elements to it, or was about conniving rich people doing shady things. Turns out it was the latter. Now while i wont say this book was bad, i will say it wasn’t great nor did it really make sense. It felt like the romance, the spice, and the actually mystery/plot were three different stories that just happened to involve the same characters. Majority of the time i read dark romances, the spice, the roughness in the spice scenes and the necessity of them make sense. They didn’t here. We could’ve done without several of the “his finger smashed into her cl*t” scenes and it would’ve still had the same effect. While i am all for a book that is all spice no plot, if you do decide to infuse plot into the book, it would help if everything gelled together. Also once again BEGGING authors….if you’re going to write a backdoor scene YOU NEED MORE LUBE. ALL THE LUBE. And if you think that’s enough lube, add more. There were many disconnects and i think if the author wasn’t so concerned with making it a spicy book, the plot could’ve been more developed.
Breanna was on a personal quest to find out about a family she didn’t know. So many questions had traveled through her mind and she just wanted some answers. She’d get them and move on along. Unfortunately, a snow storm changed her timeline. She’s caught up in a mishap and then rescued by a man that she knows nothing about. Nothing except she’s drawn to the sexy stranger in a way she doesn’t understand. They experience each other during the storm, and then he just vanishes. Breanna is left a bit heartbroken but is determined to move on, get answers about her family, and then go home. Fate, however, doesn’t agree with that plan.
Once Breanna reaches her father’s family home, she begins to realize that truths have been deliberately hidden. Everything is blurry. She’s on a determined course that seems to be putting up obstacles at every turn. And the mystery behind the invite to her grandmother’s home has her battling with two men. One that seems dangerous and meddling, the other that holds her secrets, past and present. And that man, Sinjin, seems to be consuming her very being. So many secrets, so many danger signs, so many unanswered questions. And she’s wondering just who she can trust.
This story led me down some very different paths. Breanna was such an amazing character to watch as she uncovered the other half of her self. And some very smoldering scenes, oh my 🔥.
The outside temperature might have been freezing, but my Kindle was on fire.
Whiteout by Dyan Layne is a romantic suspense about Brianna Dalton, heir to the Dalton fortune, summoned to her Grandmother Valerie Dalton's homestead and Sinjin, also known as Ian. Local man Sinjin rescues Brianna in a whiteout blizzard when she wrecks her car. Sinjin and Brianna's clothes are soaking wet by the time they arrive at his hunting cabin. Both had to shed their clothes and cuddle to dispel the bone-chilling cold overtaking their bodies. Another definition of Whiteout given by the author is that the known surface is so obliterated that even the horizon can't be distinguished, much less able to discern shadows lurking with intent to harm. Such are the characters in Whiteout! No one Brianna meets is who they seem to be, but they portray a façade behind a mask. Sinjin is not who Brianna thought him to be. Sinjin's real name is Ian, and she is a member of her grandmother's lawyer group. Despite the identification revelation, their smoldering attraction that began when snowed in the hunters' cabin flames became hotter than ever. Deceits from the past and current collide as the story unfolds. As the Dalton family fortune is questioned, Brianna has already started to doubt who she can trust, including her mother. Who will inherit? Can Brianna trust Sinjin/Ian? Dyan Layne presents a mystery and builds suspense as Whiteout's story unfolds, with an element of surprise saved for the end. Whiteout is a standalone with no cheating, ending in a HEA's crescendo.
This story started as a short in an Anthology and had so much potential to be more, and this is more. Called to her Grandmothers home and keen to learn about the family she didn't know, Breanna finds herself off the road in a snowstorm. Rescued by the mysterious Sinjin she finds herself in a cabin with him, and he shows himself to be a dominant partner between the sheets. When the storm stops, Sinjin disappears and Brenna is rescued again and taken to her Grandmother house. It seems there are people waiting for her who feel she is not entitled to the inheritance left to her by her now dead relative and she soon learns not to trust the people who are supposed to be helping her. Sinjin reappears, as one of the attorneys tasked with executing said will but warns Breanna not to trust what she is being asked to sign, knowing she is unsure what to believe when he is introduced as Ian, not Sinjin. This is a great story of lies, betrayal, secrets and family secrets. There are so many twists and turns as Breanna learns about family she never knew and not knowing whose story to believe. Dyan has as always woven the other characters through the story so well, they have you guessing constantly who is to be trusted. Sinjin and Breanna are hot together and the chemistry they have could set the world on fire. As always Dyan has done us proud, this book is so different from what I am used to from this talented lady but different in this case is spectacular, a truly epic read.
I loved this story. It is a great mysterious adventure with added steam to sweeten it even more. This is quite a fast paced story of insta-love and obsession,Whiteout will blow you away, expect the unexpected, and assume that the story you are reading is much more than you thought it was going to be. It will leave you on the edge of your seat,as chapter by chapter secrets begin to unravel..Hotness incinerates the pages and there are twists and turns you never would have guessed. Breanna and Sinjin meet in a surprising way. Sinjin rescues Breanna from a ditch in the midst of a snow storm and what proceeds afterwards is a lesson in sexual freedom and awakening...As they are both stranded together in a cabin. The attraction, chemistry and lust is so apparent and they are so HOT for one another that it could melt the snow surrounding them. But nothing is what it seems and Sinjin is not the man Breanna thinks he is. This is such a fabulous story from Dyan Lane and it really does intrigue you from the start, compelling you to keep turning those pages. Dyan's writing is Amazing and her characters are so likeable and relatable and I really wanted Breanna and Sinjin to be together despite all the baggage they both carried around with them. Whiteout is a Briliant book that I thoroughly enjoyed. Excellent 5 Stars.

"Each snowflake takes its own path to meet the ground. That’s what makes each one distinct and uniquely beautiful."
❄️From the moment Breanna was carried over the threshold of that cabin she was Sinjins for the taking. A string of events, one by one playing out perfectly with only one outcome. To make Breanna his…
❄️Dyan Layne knows what chemistry between two characters is all about. And the chemistry between Sinjin and Breanna is earth shattering. I kid you not when I say chapter 7 is going to melt the panties clean off your body. Holy Sh*t this author knows how to get right to the nitty gritty and take it to the next level. This dirty, sexy man could charm the pants off a priest. I’ve weathered through a blizzard before and I would gladly join this man, trapped in a cabin with never ending amounts of snow any day of the week. So strap on your parka ladies and gents because this book will make you want to couple up with your significant other in nothing but your birthday suit 🥵.
Yep, this one is a 5 star for me, for the exceptional writing , the heated sexy parts, and definitely the plot 😉.
Dyan Layne takes us on yet another extremely sexy adventure. Imagine receiving a letter from your grandmother that you’ve never met, summoning you to her home far from where you are. Then, in an attempt to reach her before the snow sets in, you become stranded and lost. But with the help of a sexy stranger, you’re able to get to a cabin to wait it all out.
But he joins you. And he’s dark and mysterious. And he only wants to give you everything you’ve ever wanted- wants to make your body feel things that you could only dream of before.
But you wake then, and he’s gone.
After making your way to you grandmother’s house, all these mysteries start to unravel. Family secrets and intrigues lead the reader on a crazy journey. The setting for this story is such a fantasy of mine, so maybe I’m a bit biased, but the steam is so sexy. Dyan has such an amazing talent at world-building, and the characters are completely addictive. I couldn’t put this down, honestly. I needed to know… HAD to know.. what was going to happen next.
Now I love a good romantic suspense romance, but this one was just next level!
With a intriguing and mysterious plot, Dyan weaves a sinfully sexy and twisted tale of secrets and lies that will have you gripped until the very last page.
The chemistry between Sinjin and Breanna is positively palpable. It's hot, heady, intense, and positively carnal. The mystery, danger, and suspense of the plot keeps you suspended in a constant state of uncertainty...leaving you on the edge of your seat and craving more as the story unfolds.
While you may be hoping for more details, you'll get no spoilers from me because with all books by Dyan, it's best to go in blind and just enjoy the ride. Expect the unexpected and what you think you know is only just the beginning...
This was a fast paced insta love/lust story that kept me utterly enthralled from beginning to end and I couldn't have enjoyed it more! With twists, turns, and enough heat to melt the frozen tundra, this is one exceptionally amazing read that you definitely won't want to miss!
This was a story I couldn't put down once I started reading!!!
Dyan gave us a little glimpse of Whiteout when the first part of this story was featured in the Billionaire and Babes anthology, from there I needed more of the mysterious man who became Breanna's saviour while she was stock in a snow storm while in her way to her distance grandmother.
In this book we get all the glory that is Sinjin and Breanna.
The chemistry between Sinjin and Brianna its sizzling hot, throughout the whole story you see how good these two are together and fit perfectly but I also enjoy all the twist and turns, mystery and suspense. The plot took me by surprise I really didn't anticipate how Dyan was going to develop this story but she did an amazing job. My only complaint was that this book finished too soon.
So if you like:
❅one bed ❅age gap ❅dubcon ❅secrets, lies & mystery ❅forced proximity ❅lots of hot melting scenes
Breanna gets a call to go up to her grandma estate somewhere she has never been before it’s secluded high in the mountains that tend to get snow like crazy that time of year sometimes it’s basically no way out til the snow melts. enter Sinjin the mystery mountain man as I like to think of him, warning her to drive careful on the roads in her ugly little car.
When Dyan published this back in 2023 in an anthology and it was only the first nine chapters I instantly fell in love with Sinjin and Breanna. I enjoyed their story and needed more. She always gives me something that will have me hooked from start to finish. Once I picked this up I couldn’t stop reading it has all the right panty melting goodies that have you all hot and drooling for a man like Sinjin. This book has some good stuff and some twists that have you getting angry for Breanna! There’s so much I can say but I personally enjoyed reading this one ❄️
Whiteout is a standalone, age-gap, M/F, forced proximity romance with deception, steam, suspense, a whole lot of intrigue, and a guaranteed HEA.
I absolutely loved the captivating premise of the story and the way the storyline develops. This book originally started out in short form in an anthology and I am so happy that it was expanded into a full length novel. The storyline is terrific. It’s honestly hard to covey in words just how much I loved this story and its characters, who are amazingly mysterious and deliciously flawed.
I love the way that Dyan Layne has of making all of her characters relatable and her stories so compelling, and entertaining. The storytelling, as well as the writing, pace and flow of her stories are always perfection, as are the characters, character development, relationship development, and world building.
I cannot recommend this book enough, and it is definitely going on my list of favorites for this year.
Dyan Layne draws you into a world like no other in this one, making you loathe to say goodbye when the story ends. Breanna Dalton goes up the mountain, having been summoned by the grandmother she's never met. Caught in a snowstorm she's unprepared for, she quite literally rides it out with Sinjin, forging a connection that's steamy and wild. The plot quickly catches fire from there, as if it wasn't hot enough already. Breanna needs to unravel all the mysteries of the mountain while the snow continues to fall. At the same time, she's surrounded by both allies and enemies, and it's hard to decipher where the next hit will come from. It's clear her grandmother wanted her at Dalton House, but it's equally clear that there are people who will stop at nothing to keep her from claiming what is rightfully hers. This one reads like a romantic suspense with a dark edge that grabs you and never lets go.
