Being fairly new to DBT, I thought these would be perfect for the current stressors I’m facing. The cards are incredibly beautiful and the text/font size is easy to read, unfortunately each card mentions 3 more cards to reference, and each of those cards has an additional 3 cards mentioned and so forth and so forth. It became extremely confusing and inoperable for me as a 125 card deck.
The way it’s organized doesn’t make sense to me. It’s too bad because it seems like it would be a really great idea having these on the go! Again I’m new to DBT, so it might just be me, someone familiar with Dialectical Behavior Therapy may have a better experience.
There is a mini booklet included explaining how to go about this which was great, it’s the cards referencing so many other cards that confused me. My brain needs things way more simplified when stressed.
Would have been best as a full book, the mini booklet is great! I’ll keep a lookout for book titles by Kiki Fehling because I really liked the information in the mini book, I just had a hard time navigating the deck.
For now I’ll pull the cards that I think will be the most helpful and see if I can work with them that way, putting the rest of the deck away.

#DBT #partner I personally don't think that cards are the best format for this particular content. Most of these cards point to multiple other cards for further information - it feels like going down the rabbit hole. Also, the information provided is quite basic and common sense. For those who are already familiar with DBT, a simple cheat sheet would be a more helpful/visual reminder. On the other hand, if you are new to DBT, in my opinion, a book with more detailed explanations would be more beneficial. Cards make it more confusing.
