I am on a quest to read or give away all the books on my shelves, so I am reading anything and everything we've got so I can add it to the stack of giveaways. This is one that my Aunt Babs gave me years ago and I never read. It's full of back-stabbing, murder-attempts, lies, and manipulation pretty much on the level of a Lifetime channel movie that, when you're in the right mood, can be horribly entertaining. I wanted this to be one of the Baxter-Bernie or Blythe Danner-level Lifetime movies, though, but it was more of a Tori Spelling caliber.

The Good Sister is a very good psychological suspense.Two sisters become extremely wealthy when their father passes away and they inherit his multi million dollar company.Old rivalries begin to resurface and one sister wants the other sister dead. Very intense reading hard to tell which one is good which is the bad sister. This is a page turning all night read.. kept me in suspense.

I had the "who" of "who done it" figured out early on, then changed my mind, then changed it again and back and forth until it was finally revealed about 20 pages from the end. Not classic fiction but good enough that you can escape reality for awhile.

This suspense/drama, sister against sister who done what to who & how do you know who's good & who's bad book is a nail biter & a page turner that's next to impossible to put down....It takes you back & forth wondering which sister is the evil one, or wait, is it the one's husband? Or is it the long term mentor? There are arguments & theories for & against EACH character that will keep you guessing till the final chapter!

By page 3, I knew that one of the sisters was a psychopath. I just didn't know which one.

Two sisters inherit their father's satellite company and become instant billionaires. One loves the limelight and excels at marketing. The other is more introverted and handles the technical aspects. Still, even though they have everything, there is still an intense rivalry, which is pushed into overdrive when a movie star sweeps one of the them off her feet into a whirlwind marriage without a prenup.

Soon after, the sister miraculously survives a car wreck that was not an accident. Who set her up . . . her gold digger husband or her jealous sister? Then the other sister is attacked in her apartment: is it revenge or is someone out to get them both?

I enjoyed trying to figure out the answers to these and other questions. I did not, however, like any of the main characters. They were all self-centered and made some really stupid decisions. It was a nice little "escape" read but I wouldn't recommend this book to a friend.

This was a decent, quick read. That said, I didn't think the characters were that well fleshed out, so I didn't find myself especially caring about any of them. And one of the major relationships that starts in the book was so undefined -- most of it happened "behind the scenes" -- that I couldn't comprehend why they ever got together. It didn't make sense. I think it's because you aren't supposed to know who the bad guy is, you aren't allowed to truly get into the mindset of any of the characters, so you don't really get to know any of them or to understand their true feelings.

But, as I mentioned before, it's still a decent, escapist read. I got through it really quickly and did find moments where the book was hard to put down. I wouldn't call it "great" but I definitely wouldn't call it "bad" either. I'd read this author again.

I liked how the author set up the narrative chapters to fill in background about the sisters without giving away which sister was the evil one. I was a little bored with the back-and-forth dialogue about who had it in for who. The constant rehashing didn’t forward the plot. In my opinion the events all happened a little too quickly and conveniently. I also feel that one sister acted completely out of character and I don’t believe that anyone in her position would make the decisions she made.

While the suspense element of this book is well-done, it is hard to care about the characters because they are both generally unlikable. The rivalry between the two sisters is pronounced and leads to all of the conflict as it is never clear who is trying to harm the others among the four main characters. Overall, for mystery and suspense it is a good read, but not necessarily for character development.

This book takes sibling rivalry to the next level. The book is broken up into four parts and at the start of each part one of the sisters is describing their relationship at various points of their lives. However, you do not know which sister is the narrator. I don't want to give too much away but this book definitely keeps you guessing as to which sister is the narrator and which sister is trying to kill the other one.

This is a generous three star rating. the author, actually an elderly gentleman, used to live in my Florida neighborhood. We read one of his other books for book club and invited him to speak. He said this was his better Disna Diamond novel, so when I saw it at Goodwill, I picked it up. Clever back and forth as to who the guilty party is, better editing that the other one I read.

I picked up this book on the way to the airport from a "used and weeded" box of books the local library was selling for a $1. It was definitely well worth that dollar! I tried and tried to discover "who was the good sister." Right towards the end, I figured it out.....about the same time the hero rushed in to save her!

This was one of those books that went back and forth on who was the suspect for attempted murder. It could have been any of the characters in this story. Greed, jealousy, needing what the other person has so bad that you find whatever you can do to be rid of them. Opens the readers' eyes to be aware of what drives you forward.

a psychological thriller that is missing the thriller component. two poor little rich girls are at the center of this novel, each convinced that she has been wronged by the other. the ending is predictable quite early in the story, so the thriller part is nonexistent.
