2024 also became the year AK entered the sports romance world. Staying true to her goals of portraying strong women, her debut sports romance novel, Double Play, is both a baseball AND softball romance. It's the first in the Extra Innings series, which is now complete with four full-length novels and a prequel novella.
In 2025, AK is looking forward to diving into the world of women's basketball and men's football. The first book in the Fourth Quarter Fever series will be Home Town Advantage, coming on September 4, 2025.

What in the Book Boyfriend Builder smoldering sexiness is this little book???? AK Landow, what have you done to me?? And could you do it again?
AK Landow has gotten together with her real-life BFF's (Jade Dollston, Carolina Jax and LA Ferro) and these four crazy talented and just crazy women whom I love so much have decided to write a four-part Book Boyfriend cross contamination story of four best friend authors (he-hemm, sounds familiar) who one drunken night get a crazy idea to start a business to help men become the best boyfriends - to become essentially book boyfriends. And AK's book is the first in this four part series. But of course they have her kick us off, but she's set the bar because Trey and Gemma.... whoa! It's like this is the story that AK was meant to write.
Trey and Gemma's story is just incredible and I am so flipping obsessed with it! I love Gemma's smarts and beauty and confidence. And Trey? Omg I love all parts of him, including his little stalkerish tendencies. But at the core of it, the emotional aspect of both of them... oh man oh man, this is AK's heart. I've said it before and I'll say it again, at the surface, AK's books seem like they are just full of humor and dirty, dirty smexiness - and let's not kid ourselves: we are so here for all of it! But AK is truly such a deep writer and the emotions that she brings forth in her stories sometimes shakes us to the core. Trey and Gemma are no different. And I'm just slightly obsessed with them! Plus, I loooooove all the crossover stuff in this book. I love it so hard!!!!! And yes, I said that with clenched teeth. I truly didn't want this story to end because I loved it so hard. I'm so glad that AK wrote this one, because Trey was written just for me. Thank you writing him for me - bite me Lak - he is just the perfect specimen of a boy obsessed. Mm mmm mmmm! Delicious.

So um where can I sign my husband up for this course?!? Gemma and Trey had me cracking up and I love the glimpses of past characters that I love. The banter is top level and the spice is fantastic. Grammy Jane might be my new fav supporting character. Gemma's chats with her friends remind me so much of my snaps with my bestie and I find her so relatable. I love how the characters are so down to earth. Can't wait for the next book.

I absolutely loved this book! So much fun, laughter and a great storyline, as always with AK’s books!!
This is a great story to get you in the mood of the holiday spirit, with a group of besties who come up with a super funny, but genius idea - one night when the drinks are flowing & the laughter and banter between them is in full force!
Trey and Gemma are very fun characters! You will laugh your bootie off! Have some swoony moments, love their characters and be ready for sizzling chemistry!!!
Grab a copy - I highly recommend it! Great job, AK!

I have been waiting for this series of books from four of my favourite authors, and this one did not fail to deliver. I love AK's writing, and there was not a doubt in my mind, I wouldn't love Trey and Gemma. I was, also, extra appreciative of a side character that sounded vaguely familiar, although the extremely thin may be stretch *side eye with a huge smile.
Gemma, along with her 3 book besties, hatches a plan to start a business to teach men how to be what women need, a boyfriend who is like those we only read about. There "endeavour", via an hilarious video, is seen by some familiar baseball players (IYKYK) and one of those is Trey DePaul. He is immediately taken with our green eyed Gemma, so signs up.
Well lets just say, true to AK's style, there is some literally piss your pants laugh out loud moments, and if anyone has a Grammy Jane, hold her tight, she is a literal scream and I love her. And, it isn't just the laughs, but coupled with the spice meter (or the Gemmabation Scale which is a very apt description) this book was everything I love. I always love cameos by those characters seen in other books from AK, so this totally made the book. I am so excited to read the next three, as this has been an absolute win (nothing to do with one specific side character either.......lol, and thank you so much). Worth more than 5 stars.

As always, a great introduction to The Book Boyfriend series, 4 authors and their story and AK has knocked the first book out the park!
Trey sees the video for the Book Boyfriend Builders and it’s insta love for him when he sees Gemma.
All those book troupes get to play their part in this book. So many great lines that will make you laugh out loud.
I really enjoyed this book and excited to get the know the other 3 authors on their book boyfriend building adventure.
Just remember the term Gemmabation as this really made me howl, I’m sure you will be too.

I absolutely love this book!
Gemma is a strong, independent woman who knows what she wants. She's smart, amazing and has been through a lot with previous boyfriends. I love how she has the best friends who would take a bullet for her and how she knows what she wants in a man..
Trey is a dream... I mean, who wouldn't fall for a handsome man, who would to anything for 'The One' he's been looking for?
I so loved everything in this story, the tropes, the hilarious moments and most of all the pulling of the heartstrings!
Don't forget Grammy Jane, if I'm just 10% like her in my old age, then I'd be happy, I just love her!
This is a must read, I so enjoyed this and so looking forward to the next book in this series!

Ugh this was everything and more I could possibly want in a book. Dare I say Gemma and Trey have surpassed my favorites Jade and Collin!? Their connection was unreal! He was such a smitten boy instantly and I loved it. A little extreme but i looked passed it all because of his mouth...and jewelery. I'm so here for this book boyfriend group!!! The spice was chefs kiss...and I love every single character in it. I can't wait to read about the others!

I found myself laughing out loud so many times whilst reading.
Gemma and her best author friends, Ava, Libby and JoJo, are all at a book signing together. Later that night, lounging around in their pj’s and after copious amounts of alcohol, they come up with the idea of “Training men to become book boyfriends” via one on one consultations. They make an amazing video and post it on social medial for applications. Meanwhile in New York, Trey, Layton Lancaster and Cruz “Cheetah” Gonzales, who are professional baseball players, are taking their agent out for dinner to cheer him up. The boys notice the video ….
Cheetah points to his phone. “These four hot chicks - not trashy hot, classy hot - clearly had too much to drink last night. They’re all romance book authors, and they posted videos of their new business. It’s called Book Boyfriend Builders. They train men to act like the men in their novels.”
One of the women captures his attention ….
“it’s the brunette with big green eyes and full lips in the dark pink, silk pajamas who catches my eye. Her hair is up in a bun, but pieces fall on her gorgeous face. Even in the loose pajamas, I can see she’s got a great body. She’s effortlessly sexy as hell. Everything she does and every giggle she makes has my heart beating faster.” He decides to sign up, under a false name, and the boys help him do the application. What could possibly go wrong?
Let the education begin …. and boy does it. The attraction between them is immediate. Will he strike out or will he hit a home run? This is a great book that will make you laugh - you will be hooked! It has fun, laughs, intrigue, twists that you do not expect, physical attraction and passion. I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful love story. This book is laugh out loud funny. Several places had me laughing so hard I had to tell other people what I was laughing about. I loved that this book let readers get to know a couple that we know and love. If you have read Ms. Landow’s books. You know this couple. They were already together. Now readers will see how they met.
Gemma Fairchild is a lawyer and an indie romance author. Her and her author friends, Ava, Jojo and Libby, come up with the Book Boyfriend Builders. This is something that needs to happen in real life. We need help out here and want all of it. Gemma and her friends are helping regular man see their book boyfriend potential. Gemma’s first client is Trey DePaul.
Trey DePaul is a baseball player for the NY Bombers. He is currently in off season in Philadelphia with his friends, Layton and Cheetah, who play for the Cougars. As soon as Trey sees Gemma, he knows he is going to do whatever he needs to do to be with her. Instalove at its finest. Trey is trying to stay under the radar so he uses a different name and career. He also can’t tell Gemma the real reason he signed up. Just a bunch of lies. Gemma hates liars.
Ya’ll, this book is just as magnificent as Ms. Landow’s other books. The one who steals the show is Gemma’s grandmother, Grammy Jane. She kept me in this book. I could not put it down because I wanted to know what Grammy Jane was going to come up with next. I will be reading this whole series. I wish I could have been in the room when these authors came up with this concept. That had to be epic. I am so here for it.

Ak Landow hit this one out of the Ball Park and beyond.
Trey and Gemma are my new book couple for sure.

What they weren't expecting was Cheetah.
He is a dictionary so to speak on Romance, tropes, and everything romance book-related.

This book had me from the get-go. The banter and spice were off the chain. What got my
Attention though was how she wrote this book it was almost like a book within a book. How to teach men to see what women want or as close to what we need?
There are some good facts I will take a look at on Zon🫶🫣 thanks AK Landow for those 😉. and So much more.
I felt the chemistry between these two. Trey was like every woman's wet dream. How could you possibly not want that?
I could go on and on about this book. There are so many great characters. Granny Jane and Happy. There's CJ and Val. Even #laidbylayton and friends.
So MANY great one-liners that had me laughing so hard and buckling over.
What I am saying is don't miss out on this book. I highly recommend it to EVERYONE!!!

Oh my heart!! This is probably one of the best fake dating romances I’ve ever read with a hilarious retirement community thrown in the mix. You get sports, fake dating, off the charts chemistry and the best one liners that guarantee laughs. I went from laughing to swooning with the flip of a page.
Gemma and her three author friends came up with a man training business idea and Trey was more than willing to volunteer. While Gemma was a no nonsense, take charge woman she was also lonely but that didn’t last long. Trey is a gorgeous pro athlete with no problem finding women but he can’t seem to find the right one until he falls head over heels for Gemma. Now here in lies the problem, she thinks he’s doing this for another girl and he’s pretending to be someone else. There’s no way that can end well, right?
I’ll just say AK Landow is good with plot secrets in her stories because she threw one at me I didn’t even see coming. I absolutely loved the way this one played out and enjoyed the cameos from her other characters. This is only my second book from her but now I’m off the download her backlist. It’s that good!!

I’ll just say AK Landow is good with plot secrets in her stories because she threw one at me I didn’t even see coming. I absolutely loved the way this one played out and enjoyed the cameos from her other characters. This is only my second book from her but now I’m off the download her backlist. It’s that good!!

Is there anything written by AK that I won’t fall in love with?! The answer is absolutely not because this book is so damn hilarious that I legit laughed out loud! I mean there is a particular piercing scene that I couldn’t breathe because I was laughing so hard. Even writing this just thinking about it I can’t stop laughing 😂 Now Gemma and Trey are honestly couples goals and I could only hope to have that one day. Even though this is a collab series it is also doubles as a prequel to the Extra Innings series and it just made me so excited to see so much of Cheetah. Now if only this book boyfriend service was a real thing LOL.

I won't go into any details but this is funny, mildly spicy, and full of what I think all authors do and say when writing!
I loved every minute of this book and can't wait to read the next one in the series!

After being introduced to Trey and Gemma in Double Play and Curveball, I was beyond excited for this book to come out so I could read their story. Boy, oh boy, AK did NOT disappoint with this one 😍 I really thought I had mastered the art of reading spicy scenes around other people but CLEARLY I was wrong 🔥🔥🔥 between that and the fact that I kept busting out loud laughing, the people around me while I was reading must have thought I was crazy 🤣🤣🤣 This book was absolutely amazing and you must RUN and get your copy!!! Never wanted a book boyfriend more!!
Definitely a one-handed read! I first met Gemma and Trey in Curve Ball and I thought they were precious. But getting to read their story was on a whole other level! The chemistry between these two is absolute fire and I'm here for it! My only complaint is that I can't read about them longer (like a whole series longer!). Haha! They are just that HOT!!!

There are so many laugh out loud moments! Trey getting pierced is hands down my favorite 🤣🤣 Also I love Grammy Jane! Her commentary is hilarious! I wish I had a grandma like that lol Trey sees Gemma in an online video and instantly falls in love. He meets Gemma under false pretense of wanting to learn to be an amazing book boyfriend. What Gemma doesn’t know is he’s doing it to gain her attention.

This was such a fun story and I very much enjoyed it. This was the first time I have read anything by this author and I really loved it. This book was so much fun and I loved the spice and the chemistry between Gemma and Trey! They were so great together and I loved all the spicy role play they got up to. Would highly recommend this if you enjoy cute and spicy romcoms. Thank you to AK Landow for the ARC of this story.

Such a fun read! The whole premise of these romance author friends working to help men become more like book boyfriends is literally the best - seriously a brilliant idea. There is so much packed into this story & as per usual AK does it fabulously with laughs, dirty talk, strong female characters, and drool worthy men.

Do you crave a romcom with characters who make you laugh out loud and spice that is top notch? Then you need to read this book and all of this author's books. This is Gemma and Trey's story.
The story starts out with four author friends getting the idea to start a business that helps men learn how to be the best "book boyfriend" they can be to their partner. What could go wrong?
Gemma takes on her first client Trey. He is hiding his identity from her and the romance tropes begin. The laugh out loud moments between them and all the side characters made this novella so enjoyable to read. AK Landow you bring those tropes to life for me with "public displays " of laughing out loud when reading your books. It does make people want to know what I'm reading. Or maybe they think I need to take my meds? I highly recommend this book and this author.

Five stars is not enough for this book. Trey and Gemma's chemistry is off the chart!! They are so hot together. I found myself yelling OMG so much during this book. With a faster pace, swoon worthy romance, funny sexy banter, and some of the most delicious spice, this story was pure perfection. I could not get enough. I love how Trey really was the perfect book boyfriend and all the sweet things he did for Gemma. And that little plot twist... chef's kiss! Definitely would recommend.

Hold on to your flaps, ladies and gents! This series is gonna be EVERYTHING! What a novel idea for a group of author friends to write about a group of author friends! It’s PERFECT! The banter between this group of girlfriends is chef’s kiss! 🤌🏻 I love that AK Landow intermingles her “worlds.” We get the pleasure of reading about beloved characters, like Cheetah, from the Extra Innings Series. SUCH a hoot! Gemma and Trey are perfect! You want insta-love, he-falls-HARD-and-first? Trey’s your guy! You want a bålľ-busting FMC who doesn’t take crap from anybody? Gemma’s your gal! She also reminds me of a certain gorgeous green-eyed author, but I digress… 😉 I can’t WAIT to dive into the rest of this series with “Making the Book Boyfriend” by Carolina Jax up next!

Just finished Faking the Book Boyfriend by ak landow I loved it. It follows a baseball player Trey falling fast and hard when he sees a vital video of the MFC Gemma with her friends starting a business. This book has the passion the spice the flirting is on point. While getting to know each other and fighting their chemistry Gemma falls for Trey, but she knows he’s been lying to her and can’t understand why. Hopefully get to see them make appearances in other books. Totally recommend this book it is a short read but full of details and the story flowed amazing throughout.

Oh my gosh!!
I have read a couple of AK’s book and everytime I fall more in love with her writing!
I was CRYING LAUGHING there are soo many funny parts and the characters banter was hilarious!!
TREYY TREY!! He is the ULTIMATE BOOK BOYFRIEND!! He wanted to make all Gemma’s fantasy’s come true and man did he do just that in MANY WAYS!!
Gemma was soo funny with her and her writer friends and the crazy drunken idea to start a book boyfriend workshop and man was it a hit!!
The side characters in this book made it soo fun to read especially Grandma Jane she was a hoot to read about and her funny perverted jokes made the book!
I am so excited to read more of this series!

A Must Read. OMG this book was a hoot. Gemma has a part time job as a romance writer. She and her other writer friends are together and decide they should start a course for men on how to be a BBF. Trey is a professional ball player who is looking for love and the minute he spots Gemma it’s instant-love as he calls it. And let the fun begin.
I don’t think I have ever laughed so hard while reading a book. And yes I swooned a lot too. Trey is so ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

This cozy contemporary romance had me giggling throughout and I appreciated it was so low angst my heart rate barely registered it. What it DID register was the absolute beast Trey is in the sack. I get that it’s all fiction but this man pulled out all the bells and whistles to land Gemma. It had me praying: dear lord, I’ve seen what you’ve done for others…
Turns out that didn’t magically summon the perfect book boyfriend complete with a Prince Albert but I sure tried.

Gemma and Trey. AK can do no wrong. This novella , girl phew. Again had me binge reading in a few hours!! If you have read AK's books esp the extra innings series then you have already met Gemma and Trey. And this one we see their love story.

But back to the book, Gemma and her 3 besties on a drunken night decide to go into business of giving women the perfect book boyfriend in real life , tho thought of it on a goof, takes a life on its own overnight!
Enter the first client Gemma has, Trey, an MLB player who is so mesmerised by Gemma in their BBB video.
Gemma who is a corporate lawyer and an author, is tasked with making Trey the perfect boyfriend.

They set out to create a business where they can teach men what women who read really want. When Trey submits his name under false pretenses, Gemma starts falling from the moment they meet.
This book has the best dialogue. It is witty, dirty, and downright perfect for the personalities of Trey and Gemma. AK Landow has a way of making the reader want to be best friends with all her characters because they are just that amazing. This book slides right into the Extra Innings world and gives readers a whole new insight into one of the main couples in that series. I want to stay in the this book and get more of Trey and Gemma. I am 100% not ready to let them go. I’m excited to see what’s next for Gemma’s author friends, written by AK Landow’s author friends. Can’t wait to dive into the next book.
