This was a spicy, mostly cozy, and nerdy love story with a thicc MMC and a camgirl FMC. I loved that it was so body positive while still acknowledging that not everyone, or even most people, will be body positive with them. Orlagh and Rok had a lot to work through, especially because Orlagh had an abusive ex determined to make her life miserable. They were able to support each other and learned to set appropriate boundaries as the book continued. They were absolutely couple goals. I didn’t like the best friends at all, because they both did things that gave me all the red flags and ick factors that I don’t think I can let go, but at least they were supportive in their own way of the MCs.

I have to say that I was immediately hooked after the second sentence. What a beginning! 🤣 I loved how sex positive this book was and how supportive Rok was for Orlagh and her cam job.
Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear a 6XL t-shirt. 💚 Another orc mmc added to the book boyfriend list! Rok was super sweet and such a nerdy cinnamon roll consent king. He is everything I want to read in a MMC! Sweet but a little side of tough orc, too, when his love is in danger. And who doesn't love a male character that isn't afraid to cry out his feelings??
The spice was HOT HOT HOT. And very messy. I can understand why the author uses "copiously coming" on the promos. 🤣😏 I personally wouldn't want to be covered in that much stuff but Orlagh seemed to enjoy it!
This book was a thicc one but I honestly can't say that I feel like any of it was filler that could have been taken out. It all felt necessary to the story and the development of their relationship and the plot. And I never felt like it was dragging.
Looking forward to continuing the series with Haf and Brix! I loved her so much. She's the best friend we all need!

Apparently, I seem to attract books with GIANT BIG BOY men who cook good ass food, are sweet as sin, and devour MADDDD pussy 😻 there’s also a sex worker FMC Orlagh & our sweet cinnamon role MMC Rok’nhar who meet because Orlagh needs someone to film with for her only fannies 👀 they’ve secretly been pining over each other for a while now, and filming leads to a fiery connection they can no longer deny!! Not sure what the disconnect was, but this just didn't click for me. I wasn't super into it from the start and it sadly didn't really grow on me. 2 stars because it's a cute enough premise & I don't think it's bad, just really didn't work for me!

I loved this mostly cozy Monster romance and fell for the MCs quickly!
Orlaigh hasn’t exactly had the best life so far, between her controlling family and abusive EX. Things start looking up when the collaborator for her camgirl gig is bust and, in a panic, she thinks of the only Orc that could make it in time, Rok, the Orc next door. Rok is an absolute sweetheart and good gods does he do his best to do right by Orlaigh.
Early on I was intimidated by the sheer size of this book, but I have to say I enjoyed every moment. It was charming to read as Orlaigh and Rok try to find their footing with each other, even when that road is sometimes rocky (and very messy). This book has some serious spice, but it never felt out of place or took away from the story being told.
I am eagerly waiting for the next release in the series.

I have mixed opinions here. Let's start by saying this was close to be a solid 4 stars. I call it a 3.5, which is why I'm giving it the 4, but if I could do half stars, that's what this would be.
It started out so well. We're thrown right in, with a brief little bit of info-dump, but even that is made entertaining in my opinion. And then we're just in it, and we're watching this unfold, and it's quirky, and so cute, and steamy, and just... 'chef's kiss'. It was really good, and the spicy scenes early on? Man! I was just so giddy and eager for more.
But... somewhere between 55% and 65% is where things just took a slight turn into boring for me. The info-dumping in the beginning I completely understand. It's a whole new universe, and we need some background and some setting in order for us to get a bearing in this place. And like I said, that was made entertaining in my opinion, and then it stayed that way until we reach between those percentages somewhere. Then we get into the issue of doing a lot of telling and not enough showing. There's just... there's so much internal thought! It honestly felt pretty repetitive to me after a while. I found myself skimming paragraphs, trying not to miss anything important, but also not willing to go through a whole other page of just thoughts.
Make no mistake, I really enjoyed this book while I was in it. But by the end there, even though I was super happy with where it finally went, I'm not positive I want to read the next one. (But I do believe that others should definitely give this book a try and make that decision for themselves.)

The Orc Next Door is the first book in the monster romance series Tusk Over Toes, by Izzy Irons. In short, this was a fantastically paced, sometimes funny, drama filled romance between a sassy wood elf and a strong, teddy bear sort of orc.
Orlagh is a wood elf. She left home and went low contact with her controlling family. She knew that her mother, even her sister, would flip if they knew that she made money on an OnlyFans-style website. She hasn't been terribly lucky in love, currently she has a nuisance ex who is a powerful werewolf alpha. One night, when the orc she was meant to collaborate with for her fans flakes, Orlagh decides to ask her hot orc neighbour, Rok'nhar.
Luckily for Orlagh, Rok has had a crush on her since she first moved in with her ex. Rok is a gentleman, so as protective as he begins to become of Orlagh, he also had stayed away from her because she knew she had a boyfriend. Rok is sweet and nerdy, he's a gamer and a larper and works for medieval show type of restaurant. He's also incredibly sexy.
I loved both Orlagh and Rok. I enjoyed their journey of getting to know to each other. The road to true love and mating is rocky. The attraction is intense but Orlagh’s ex keeps hassling her, her past won’t go away, and both of them feel they’re being rushed into more than they were angling for…
This story is dual POV, well written, and a sweet and erotic fantasy romance. The story hits the sex fast and then backs off to incorporate a detailed interesting plot, with real challenges that the characters have to deal with. I enjoyed Orlagh’s determination to be independent from her family. I appreciated her exuberance and willingness to push the envelope. I enjoyed Rok’nhar’s shy sweetness and the way he was willing to help everyone, especially Orlagh. I enjoyed the spicy intimate scenes and the way they set up but didn’t override the rest of the plot. I enjoyed how Rok’nhar and Orlagh both had to work out what the fated mate partnering meant for them. I enjoyed the integrated and supportive secondary characters and the set up for the next story, which I am watching for….

It caught me from the first moment, it has all the spice, body positivity, a lot of love, a sexy Orc who will do anything for you, cozy, and nerdy; it reminded me a lot of D&D. Orlagh is going through a tough time with an abusive ex who makes her life impossible, while she is a cam-girl to make life. One afternoon she is looking for a partner, especially an Orc, to spank her on camera for her livestream, that's when she remembers that her neighbor is an Orc, and that's where the adventure begins. If chemistry is instant, they both find in each other what they were missing, especially Rok, who is the support Orlagh needs in these moments. They make a beautiful couple together; Rok is a cinnamon roll.
The story is interesting with a good plot where each of the protagonists deals with their problems, especially both seeking to solve them in the most mature way possible. I liked the integration of the supportive secondary characters, especially the complementation they gave to the FMC and MMC. I've been needing a good Orc story for a long time, and I wasn't disappointed; I was enchanted, looking forward to continuing reading about that incredible world, especially about the upcoming characters on the list.

This was a quick and enjoyable read and my first time reading for this author and I’ve loved evert minute of it and can’t wait to read more, I loved all the characters and the parts they played in the lives of Orlagh and Rok’nhar who are just perfect for each other. Orlagh is a sun Elf who is waiting for her inheritance to come and she works as a cam girl and is a lot happier now that she has broken up with her abusive Ex boyfriend. But now she needs an Orc for her live stream show when she remembers that he neighbor is one and goes over to ask if he will her out. Rok’nhar is an Orc and a chef that works at the Dinners & Dragons and loves his job but he is lonely and would love too be with the Orlagh the sexy Elf next door and I'm glad that she is no longer with the creep of a boyfriend but why would she be interested in a big huge Orc like me. But when she knocked on my door asking for my help I jumped at the chance just to be close to her and I got real close and she likes when I talk dirty to her and she is perfect for me but do we have a future together or not.

Looking for an orc romance you can sink your teeth into? This one is thick 😏 and very spicy! If you’ve ever fantasized about your hot neighbor and maybe asking him to spank you for your Only Fannies this might check off a few boxes for you! I absolutely loved Rok’nhar and how protective he was of the FMC. I love a cinnamon roll hero with a protective streak. Plus he’s quite the dirty talker, I have loads of highlights from this one. The pacing was a little slower for me so it took time going through. I loved the characters, the world, and of course all the delicious smutty moments. There’s a LARPing scene that was so much fun, think Medieval Times but in a fantasy setting, I loved it so much! The ending set up another couple for the next book and I cannot wait to read their story too!

First, what is not to love about the big, green, loveable Orc, Rok? He lives next door to Orlagh, whom he has fantasized about for the last year. There is plenty of steam, and I'll say it again: STEAM! Orlagh is being stalked by her ex, who is a werewolf alpha. She seems to have trouble everywhere. So, it is good that Rok is more than capable of caring for her. This book is paranormal and has suspense. I enjoyed Rok and Orlagh so much. Great book!

Orlagh and Rok are adorable. Insta lust and a shared love of LARP, they make a Playful pair. This book starts off pretty hot and has some pretty steamy moments between the two as they navigate their growing relationship. Ofcourse they go through the drama of a past ex and family issues but come out on top. I really enjoyed this book. Made me smile and giggle quite a bit!!!

This is the first book I have read by the author. Loved the word she created. Orlagh is a sun elf bidding her time, waiting for her inheritance. She is also dealing with an ex who just won't go away. Rok'nhar is her orc neighbor who is a chef/ her orc in shining armor. I enjoyed everything from larping reference, to the place where Rok'nhar works "Dinners & Dragons". That was just the best part! It was a very enjoyable read.

This was the cutesttttttt!!!
This had such a strong start that really pulled me in. We got into the good stuff quick with this one LOL but the story was also sweet as pie with our lil fated lovers. The length had me curious on pacing but I really think it worked well! I am really happy with how the author chose to end this one and I can'ttttt waitttt for book two to come out!!

The start of the Tusks Over Toes, sun elf Orlagh and orc Rok’nhar meet when she needs help for her for a camera show she is broadcasting. The story is well written with a very good storyline with drama, suspense, danger, a crazy ex, difficult family and romance. This is a new Author to me.

Was very cute if you ignore the insta-love mates dealio as in met and got engaged in less than a week. Read it super quickly because brain rot from uni and this was exactly what I needed, playful, quick and far from deep.

A sweet story with funny moments. Love the MMC who is such an adorably dorky, shy cinnamon roll with a protective streak. The pace is a bit slower for me but there's lots of spice to make up for it.

It had me feeling all the feels. And so many times just kicking my feet giggling at these nerdy neighbors.
It is not all fluffy fun given some of the struggles that are the main plot, so do check content warnings.
I don’t want to give away too much so as the title suggests they are neighbors. She is a 60+ year old elf & Cam Girl. He is a 30 something year old Orc who happens to work at a dinner theater. She needs an Orc for her live show…so who ya gunna call?
