I purchased this book when I bought my Maltese, in hopes that the book would educate me on the unique nuances of the breed. I found the book relatively interesting, but moreover very reassuring to read that many of my new pup's mannerisms and queer health issues were in fact very normal to the breed. (I'd only owned large dogs, before adopting my mighty, 9 lb boy.) The book really only offered a beginner's understanding into the breed, though, so I don't recommend it for longtime, knowledgeable Maltese mommies & daddies.

I hated this book because it was so boring. Most of the names in the book I could not pronounce and there were almost no pictures. I probably started this book in January and it took me so long to finish this book of it being so boring. I never liked informational books and this is another example of way I do not. The book had usually talked about people who owned the dogs and not really where the breed came from or how they came into the United States. In my opinion I would not recommend this book to anybody.
