Parallel Text Bible Extracts for Welsh Learners
These extracts are a personal choice selected on the basis of 'The Bible as Literature', in Welsh/English parallel text for Welsh learners.
Having, as is poetry, being written to be read aloud, it is hoped they will assist other learners to keep up or improve their Welsh as it has been so found by the compiler.
An attempt has been made to 'modernise' the Authorised Version (King James) extracts without damaging their classical and poetic qualitities.
This 2nd Edition (Partwork: 34,000 words from Old and New testaments) is published to assist the search for a Welsh Editor able to undertake the parallel work of editing the extracts from the Welsh Bible ( Bishop Wiliam Morgan, 1620) to the same end, to warrant completion of a fuller work.

This is a great idea to have dual texts for learners. Unfortunately the Welsh and English translation are antiquated so it doesn't help you learn modern Welsh.
I appreciate texts that stay true to the original language (Greek or Hebrew) but there needs to revisions to reflect the current audience.
I've completed mynediad and sylfaen levels and found it exciting at first to compare the two but got too frustrated to continue.
A commentary on why certain words would be/were more appropriate would help the more advanced learner to value the texts and translation.
