The plot twists that came into play that I was absolutely stunned and so pleased with! So glad I got the chance to beta read this story. Avery really does have sunlight in her veins and all that comes with that. Her story with the Dark Lord full of shadow and moonlight is one for the ages. His resounding patience and understanding. Longing for her. . . . . . And her found family...even if some might not exactly be found but rediscovered... P.S. I want to know more about Smoke and Max, and everything she does for the Unchanged now that she has had the chance to choose her form...

I found this an enjoyable read and an excellent completion of the trilogy! The beginning picks up immediately after book two and the way it deals with the trauma of the main character felt very genuine and didn't rush through her healing which I loved! I find this genre sometimes glosses over trauma or expedites a characters healing journey so the take in this book felt very fresh. Even tropes that I don't love or feel are overused (characters returning from the dead) are tackled in a way that doesn't feel as stale as I'm used to seeing. This is more a comment on the entire series as a whole as well but I love how this series is set in a modern era adaptation as well as a Canadian city - both things I feel like I don't see as often as I should. It also seems to balance well a bit of a cozy vibe, despite the stakes increasing as the series unfolds. My only complaint about this book would be that the final climax and fall out felt abrupt and I had to go back and re-read it a couple of times because it felt like it left some plot holes but I think it just conveniently solved them all quickly? I would have preferred a bit more exposition and allowing time for each reveal to breathe a bit more. Either way, it didn't affect my overall enjoyment of the series which is a mild to moderate spice, fresh read with relationships between characters built over time that avoids some of the common tropes of the romantasy genre!

There were so many opportunities to add depth to this universe, and if expanded this could have easily been 2 books. Many of the twists felt like last minute choices - that again, would have been fine if fleshed out - the final climax was about 10 pages long and then it just ends. The writing style of having multiple perspectives was inconsistent, despite being really helpful and interesting.
I read it for character closure. I really liked the first 2 :/
this was one of my fave series i read last year. this was a great ending to the trilogy. i really am gonna miss all the lovely cast of characters. i'm really glad that the FMC can find love again. the story made me happy and it made me sad in some scenes, and then there was a twist in the end i didn't expect but i absolutely adored this read.
Good lord what was that?!? Filled with badly written tired tropes and clichés, that felt ripped from other popular series, most predominantly ACOTAR. The ending was awful, felt rushed and not thought out. Almost felt like it was left to AI to finish off and write, like the author couldn't be bothered with the characters any more.
I'm not one hundred percent sure if this was the final book in the series but I feel like everything was wrapped up nicely if it was. Some aspects felt a little rushed but all in all it was a good series and deserves some more readers.
