I have so many words about this book. Fast paced, emotionally charged, character driven, rage, revenge, angst and plenty of spice.
Yes, I'm in my dark college era.
Do I dare mention how much I adore when the bad boy falls first?
We can agree that the end of book 3, is an epic cliffhanger. This book opens with Lux turning the tables on the Burning Crown and the Sacred Sons. The build up of the angst is done to perfection.
As secrets are revealed, our heroine, Lux enters her bad girl era, because she's amazing. Resilient, strong and courageous. The Sacred Sons remain solid, but are shaken by Lux's actions for revenge.
Roman, oh Roman.... you'll be forever a top tier book boyfriend. I forgive you.
This was a satisfying and hard fought HEA. The very end sets up the next couple in the series. I will be counting down the days until the next book.

Notes:
- On one hand I HATE body betrayal syndrome, but Lux’s ferocity and refusal of submiting to Roman make up for it. She fights him at every turn, but his RELENTLESS pursuit of her is everything I want in my MMCS 🥵
- Even though Roman is rough and chooses Lux to avenge his brother, he is fiercely protective of her, and is never outright cruel. Lux brings him to his knees and I am here for it.
- I LOVED how when Lux confronts Roman she almost stabs him with a fire poker. The guys think she went crazy and immediately think she ran off and start talking about “well at least its over” or “guess we’ll never see her again” when actually she is in Roman’s room burning all his shit 😅. Lux is clever, cunning and brings all four Sacred Son boys to their knees. The fact that she has Wyn and some of the other females at her back is empowering. I love even more that as angry as Roman and then men are, they are equally impressed with her.
OW:
- There are two BJ scenes with OW. The first one is nothing, the second one hurts a little because even though he feels immediate regret, Roman takes the woman to a party and is seen with his arm around her (which he knows will cause rumours that give people ammo against Lux). As far as dark college romances go however, this is pretty tame. I appreciate this author not following the typical trope of the mmc dating/fucking/flirting with mean girls that bully the fmc. We don’t have to watch Roman have other girls sitting on his lap, and he fiercely stands up for Lux against everyone. I was worried he would have debs following him around but it isn’t mentioned a whole lot and Roman completely ignores other women.
* GENERAL PSA to all authors: Can you stop trying to make us pity a MMC when he can’t “enjoy a BJ” because he’s thinking of/picturing the FMC? It’s not sexy or endearing, but gross and manipulative. Lux running away from Roman because she saw him kill Tyler (NOT because he got a BJ from Jen) downplays and overlooks the betrayal of him with Jen.
Question:
- In book #4 Lucas said “we did what we had to do” (using Lux), but they could have gotten Roman’s brother out of jail and into a mental facility without using Lux at all? So I still don’t really get why they NEEDED her?

Summary:
- Lux and her best friend Bree gain acceptance to the prestigious Exeter University. They are immediately invited to a Preference ceremony, in which Roman (the mmc) and his three friends (Lucas, Jackson and Christian) each choose a woman (consort) to essentially be their arm candy. Roman immediately chooses Lux (and we later find out that he created the scholarship to lure Lux to Exeter to avenge his brother who blamed her for being sent to jail).

This the last book in The Legacy of Lies Series” - the conclusion of Lux and Roman’s story. I read this book in an afternoon, I could not put it down. Once again, Evelyn has out done herself. Roman wants to dominate her mind, her body and her soul, but can he still do this and love her at the same time? Lux, his Queen, fights back exerts her authority over the “Sacred Sons” and holds them accountable. Who will win this war? Will Roman and Lux sort everything out and live happily ever after?
This whole series has been exhilarating from the first book until the last! Evelyn holds you in the palm of her hand - expecting the worst but hoping for the best! The story will captivate you - it is full of drama, sexual tension, passion, danger and a few other twist and turns that you do not expect …. I will not ruin the story for you except to say, it will keep you totally engrossed and not able to put the book down!
A thoroughly enjoyable read from page to page, one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

This might be the ending to Roman and Lux’s story, but it’s just the beginning for another sacred son. This whole series has had me in a chokehold and I’ve been impatiently waiting for Evelyn to give us each book. Cliffhangers are becoming something I expect when reading Evelyn’s books. I cannot wait to dive into Lucas’ story!

My Thoughts: This book picks up from the previous book. Roman and Lux's story concludes in this book. Lux breaks from her former shell and is determined to get her revenge. She's on a power high after feeling betrayed by Roman. This book is filled with drama and chaos from start to finish. I enjoyed reading this series and look forward to reading the next couple in this series.

Ok sooo I started this series and finished it the same day. I was really unsure after the first book if I was going to continue because the first book just didn’t do anything for me. 💤
Luckily the books are all really short so I decided to at least give the second a go to see if it got better. The story did. The editing did not.
The books went up in rating as I read on because more action took place. I wanted to continue reading because the story became interesting. Some people want to read because of the cliffhangers but I thought these cliffys were pretty lame to be honest lol. It was obvious how they were going to be solved.
The editing throughout the series needs a serious look at. There are so many spelling, grammar and sentence errors. Some misuse of words as well. The most annoying thing is continuity errors. A person would say something and then the next paragraph would respond to what they just said themselves, or completely contradict what they just said. A lot. Meaning the author used the wrong name. Something would happen and then happen again a few sentences later. Or the opposite would happen. In one book it said Jackson was into Wyn and Lux even asked her about it…then all the sudden it was Lucas?
One thing that kept me from liking Lux was her hypocrisy. She literally kept telling herself throughout everything how she was going to leave Roman as soon as she got what she wants from him- finding out about Bree. So she was using him. Then once she finds out the truth about Roman, it’s unforgivable? They did the same thing to each other! They both used each other for someone they loved.
The ending kind of came and went quickly. I wanted to know more about her mom and the cult. Obviously the next book is going to be about Wyn and Lucas but that ending was straight outta nowhere!

Wow 🤩 there aren’t any words to describe how much I enjoyed reading (The Legacy of Lies) series!!! So sad Roman & Lux’s story is over but Miss Evelyn likes to tease us and end the book with more unanswered questions about the other characters in the series. Can’t wait to read about the other “Scared Sons “ and especially about Wynn ! I knew that girl had secrets lol 😂
This book had my girl Lux (MFC) finally able to stand her ground against the possessive “Campus King” Roman(MMC) and bring him to his knees ( literally) lol 😂 Loved how she finally broke out of her shell and became this strong unhinged MFC!! But even with all the turmoil Roman puts her through she learns to accept that they are meant to be together. (HEA)
Roman (MMC) grew a lot in this book ( I really loathe him at first) but now to me he is a top tier book 📖 unhinged but loving boyfriend😍!! And he finally realizes what his mentally disturbed brother James did to poor Lux ( and unfortunately I knew it was going to end that way)
We also find out who unalives Bree (Lux’s best friend) and I won’t spoil it but it’s always the quiet ones ( I had my suspicions about this person)
Overall I really really enjoyed reading this unhinged, dark and spicy series about the infamous “Scared Sons Society “ and looking forward to reading more about these bad boys!! Thank you Evelyn Austin for letting me be apart of your fabulous (arc) team!! So grateful you allowed me to be apart of this amazing series!! Bravo 👏🏻 ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ I highly recommend this series!!

Little Rabbit has grown claws
Fun fast read. It’s more of a 3.5 star but I felt generous today. I do like this author so there’s that.
The story picks up where it left off. The says “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” is the epitome of what dear Lux thrashes out onto Roman and the other Sacred Sons. This book has many twist and turns that were predictable. Some things didn’t add up & that’s always annoying. Like she knows she’s pregnant and takes a drag off of a blunt. The terrible things she did to Roman were beyond crazy and would never fly in real life. Her power trip was ridiculous and extremely unrealistic. Then Roman finally learns she is absolutely pregnant so he says that he’s not going to let her go, that she’s now his. But then goes back to having to walk away for good. Both these characters think more than what they say or do. And of course there is a couple parts of the book that made me tear up. But no epilogue!! Ugh! Still looking forward to finding out about Lucas and Wynn….

Enemies to Lovers gold
I started reading this series right before the last book was released.. LUCKY ME.
Otherwise after the 3rd book I would’ve been fiending and possibly forget since I read so much..
But this is such a good book series. Lux is a very interesting character.. I vibed with her reactions to situations and she was no helpless naive heroine. The thing that got her was her ignorance of the scheme Roman Rush had plotted against her. Which in reality was kinda mild compared to their other enemies to lovers novels I’ve read. It was the betrayal.. and because she was soo relatable I felt it too.
Secret college societies. OH MY
Roman is soo unforgivably egotistic , violent, obsessive and .. of course he’s got a lot of redeeming characteristics that make you love him by the end of the novel. There are a lot of times where he removes himself from the picture and wonders if he’s worse or just like his brother. That and he genuinely cares for Lux and trying to save James is the reason you’re not outright hating him at the end of this series.
Triggers are there but if you read EtL and know they are darker I

I waited for a closure to this story for while... So before pouring emotions let's talk about the factual things.
Story: we start already coming from a heavy cliffhanger and the story didn't lose its peak for a single page.
Characters: Lux has grown so much through the serie... and she finally, once she has asimilated all that has happened, makes a decision and owns it. Like the badass she has become in this book. Roman, on the other hand presents also maturity and evolution (who knew he was capable of it) and reveals the part of the story we were not aware
Plots: yes, expect the unexpected
Feelings: on one hand I am glad it finally ends, and on the other I feel a bit empty. The story has grown more and more on me and I know I will miss the characters. Luckily the university will make some secondary characters step up and, with a bit of luck, we will see a glimpse of our Roman and Lux

Feelings: on one hand I am glad it finally ends, and on the other I feel a bit empty. The story has grown more and more on me and I know I will miss the characters. Luckily the university will make some secondary characters step up and, with a bit of luck, we will see a glimpse of our Roman and Lux

This series has been an absolute wild ride and we finally get Roman and Lux's finale in Now You're Mine. My favorite part of this book is seeing Lux truly step into her role as a queen and showing her feirceness to all. Lux is not the same person as when this series started and she fully comes into her own. I loved seeing Roman really work for Lux and her forgiveness. I loved his concern for her safety as danger still surrounds them. The remaining mysteries and plot wrap up, though I would say there is one trigger warning women should be mindful of. I was really intrigued by the end of the book when we get to see a snippet of a cliffhanger for a different couple. So while Roman and Lux may have wrapped up I'm still invested in continuing the series! Overall this series has been addicting and twisty!

Now You’re Mine is the 4th book in the Legacy of Lies series. This is a dark bully romance with some sensitive topics so please ensure you read the content warnings before reading. Now You’re Mine is the conclusion to Lux and Roman’s story. After being smacked in the face with the truth about her best friend’s murder and Roman’s connection to Lux’s ex, she takes control over her life and actions. Roman realizes exactly how much he messed up, especially when he realizes the extent of the danger that Lux is in. Will they be able to forgive each other before it’s too late? Absolutely loved Lux and Roman’s journey and was sad to see it come to an end however can’t wait to see what comes next in this series!!! I received this book directly from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Finished these in 2 nights because I could not put it down. Literally. These were shorter but more interesting reads. I couldn’t stop, so much was happening. This was a rollercoaster. But the spice tho… 🤭😮💨
Roman, he is so controlling. Tiny bit too much. Do I still love him? Absolutely. All he thinks about is her, he’s so possessive of her. What he did to her was truly devastating but I don’t blame him, he wanted to protect both.
Lux, I loveeeee how she was testing him and kept being stubborn yet it made him want her more. She’s been through a lot ever since meeting him but she pushed through 🥹. I’m so glad they got their happy ending, after all that toxic mess.
I’m so excited to dive into next 3 books of the series and follow two different couples, all within same group. Lux and Roman will probably end up being my favorite I can see it.

I feel like I can’t really talk about this book without spoilers, and I want everyone else to experience this story like I was able to. Suffice to say: They’ve been through some shit. But! 💁🏽♀️ They got through it all and are stronger for it.
We get the answers to all of the secrets and lies from the previous books, and get a glimpse into what the next series will bring 🤭
I am absolutely looking forward to more from this series and can’t wait to read the next book!

Okay so the first half of the book was good!
The story is fast paced and it really does have its moments.
Series overall, the whole "she's not like other girls" is a repetitive trope. The bad guy was predictable. The love interest was gross. I don't get how anyone could be rooting for Roman. The secret society was laudable, everyone knows about it and you can just leave anytime without consequences even though they say "once you're in, you're in for life" apparently not to much.
I would read more from this author, there are some really good moments if they manage to not get stuck in a lot of the predictable clichés that authors fall into when trying to fo dark romance i think they will have a winner.

I can't believe it's over for Roman and Lux!
What a whirlwind this series was. Book 4, did not disappoint.
So much happens in this book. It will keep you on your toes. Twists and turns, secrets are revealed, and we get answers to our questions.
Filled with danger, drama, spice and so many emotions.
Lux proves how strong and brave she is.
Roman proves himself and more!!
Both of those characters grow and change so much throughout the series.
I will forever love them.
Roman and Lux's journey to their HEA wasn't easy at all.

4.5 ⭐️ Wow what a finale! We literally had every question answered and did I see most of it coming, NO! Apart from the James thing! Such amazing writing had me gripped the entire time! Lux was such a badass going after the Sacred Sons like the queen consort that she is!! I did not see Bree’s killer reveal coming at all, I literally had no clue but it made perfect sense! So glad James is gone but I couldn’t help but feel sad that it was Roman who had to do it! So happy with the ending of them both living in a little house over looking the sea and being madly in love with each other ❤️ such a great series! I’m so excited to read the next set of books about Lucas and Wyn!!

WOW ... book 4, easily my favorite. This was a ride.
Spoilers..
I didn't see Nathan being involved in Brees death at all, I was probably just as shocked as Lux at that - but also, after thinking on it reference back to the text she got from "brie" that she questioned and then reference to the text nathan sent roman and how basically said he sucks at writing - it was an after thought but connected after the fact.
James death - 👏 to Roman for picking Lux over his brother.
Roman and Lux losing the baby but it also being the end thing that pulls them back together after everything was sad but also a perfect way to pull them back.
Great ending for Lux and Roman's story!

I'm so thankful that I got to be an ARC reader for this series! The cliffhangers were always the best, the books were all written fantastically. Lux had the most fire in her and was such a strong FMC. When she fell into her rage I was like yes girl! Get your revenge!!. I also never saw the best friends killer coming?! Holy crap I never even caught onto a hint of it?! I had zero idea who to suspect. I want to know more about wyn so badly too, she seemed so mysterious almost. All in all, all of these were easily a 10 star read for me. Mysterious, spicy, beach vibes, it was a perfect balance!

I seem to be racing through this series as soon as a book is released I jump in straight away, this series/ these books pulled me in straight away. Loved the secret society vibes, the touch her die troupe, the push and pull these two pushed me through.
he didn't reckon on her, she has fought him every step of the way, tooth and nail without backing down which had him chasing, craving her more.
This one put everything on the table, all is revealed and the deaths are piling up, and at long last the one that killed her best friend without remorse is revealed, finally allowing these two to breathe and work towards being together without anything hanging over their heads.

Like every book so far in this series, this one too had me on the edge of my seat. This is a dark romance so please check trigger warnings. This is the conclusion for Lux and Roman’s story and wowww what a rollercoaster of lies and secrets finally revealed. Everything is finally laid out for us, including what happened with Lux’s best friend. Roman will forever be one of my favorite book boyfriends. 🫠 Lux and Roman get their HEA and the ending of the book helps set up what is to come for this universe, and I’m excited for the next book.

You could feel her anger, hurt, and betrayal as you're reading.
Roman's character changes a lot, and you get to see it.
We finally get closure for what happened to Bree, and I not NOT see that coming for who was responsible. I was shocked, I thought it was someone else.
The spice is kicked up in this book, and seeing Lux hold the power over Roman and him giving it to her was everything.

This installment really ended Lux and Roman's story with justice and so many heart-wrenching moments. I loved how complete the end felt and enjoyed the change of pace at the end. Lux and Roman really fight all odds and continue to fight each other just as hard. The added person to the drama in a twist is absolutely wild and I loved every second. There is a lot of building tension that finally comes to a close and felt truly complete, in my opinion. And I will say, I am stoked for the next installment with different FMC and MMC(s), save me a seat on that ride!

OMG the final book and it ended exactly how I had hoped.
Lux and Roman deserved a happy ending and I really questioned if they were gonna get it, at least by my standards.
Every question and loose end gets answered and resolved. It wasn't a rush conclusion either. Each answer made sense even as heartbreaking as it was.
This book has a little darker theme than the other books, so please check triggers. I enjoyed the story, angst, and side of the book. I felt like all the characters grew and evolved with the series very well.

I thought something was wrong with me because the ratings for this book are good but I have mostly hated everything about it from the ridiculous conversations between Calista and her "bestie" which were maybe at an eleven year old level, at best, to the very basic character depth and lacking story-line. Maybe this just means smut isn't my thing, but I've read a handful of smutty books that held my interest and actually did have a good storyline and great characters.
Seriously, how does anyone give this four or five stars?
