I always swore I’d never settle down. I didn’t want a family or responsibilities beyond my own needs. Life was easier and a lot more fun when you kept things casual.
But Rosalie Masters made a liar out of me.
As one of my sister’s best friends, we’ve known each other for years. A single mom pretty enough to turn every head in town—including my own—I never imagined she’d be interested in knocking boots with this cowboy.
Boy, was I wrong.
What starts as a week of secret hook ups, quickly becomes something I can’t live without.
She’s prim and proper.
I’m rugged and rough.
We could not be more opposite if we tried.
But her brilliant mind and naughty side have lassoed my attention. And her tender heart—the one she doesn’t let most people close enough to witness—makes it impossible to leave her alone.
For the first time in my life, I’ve fallen for someone I can’t get out of my system. Wild horses couldn’t drag me away from this woman. The problem is I don’t know how I’ll convince her to give us a chance.

Jackson Wilder is known around town for his playboy ways, and he’s not denying it. But once his sights are set on Rosalie, he quickly becomes a changed man.
🤎Small town romance 🤎Best friend’s brother 🤎Reverse age gap 🤎Forced proximity 🤎Single mom
Rosalie is a single mom, with a horrid past with her ex. She doesn’t want a relationship and she especially doesn’t want one with the town playboy, who is almost a decade her junior.
But Jackson puts on the charm and when circumstances force them to be in close proximity, they definitely take advantage!
I loved Jackson so much in this one. We’ve seen him grow from previous books and when this man says he’s all in, he’s totally all in!
I felt nothing but sheer joy reading this story. It was truly a complete #swoonfest! Yeah, some parts were cliché and some maybe a bit predictable, but the joy came from how naturally the story unfolded and Jackson & Rosalie grew from people who knew of each other to a lot more! :) There was no pretense between them, each in complete opposite phases of their lives, yet undeniable drawn to each other. I felt that in the story. I felt the pull and it made their story much more captivating for me. In fact. I picked this ARC up to read on a Saturday mid-morning and did not stop the whole day!
This series overall has been really great from the beginning. I love how the Wilders are interconnected in each other’s stories. IMO, you can’t write a successful “family” series without that connection, and you probably should start from the beginning if you want to truly experience the best this family has to offer. I experienced the previous stories via audio, and I cannot wait to be able to listen to Jackson & Rosalie’s story!
I read this book as an ARC read. I enjoyed it! Jackson was the sweetest cowboy who worked to change his former playboy ways to show his sister’s best friend Rosalie how much he wants to be with her. I related to the main character Rosalie. She is a librarian and a bookworm!
Overall this was such a sweet read sprinkled with spice and humor!
I didn’t realize this was part of a series but dang this book pulled me in and I could not stop reading! I adored these characters so much! They felt so real to me! I loved Jackson and Rosalie!! Will definitely be checking out this author’s other work!
Totally fell in love with Jackson, while reading Wild Kiss. Jackson starts out as a playboy, the one no one relies on. But the more time he spends with Rosalie, the more he question his current way of life. Outside of her love for her son, Edward, Rosalie doesn’t trust love. There is an undeniable attraction that draws them together. Then circumstances bring them together. Again. Sparks fly. This is an entertaining read.

Secret hook up with her best friend’s brother. He is a known playboy, but one night change his perspective of her. When the chance to have more he jumped on it. And the way he stood up for her! Oh swoon! There is so much to love in the book and I’m excited for what’s to come!
I received a free copy of this book via the author's ARC campaign before launch and am voluntarily leaving a review.
When I say I adored everything about this book, I’m not exaggerating. I LOVED Jackson and Rosalie’s story! 🥰🥰 Full disclosure, this is the first Kacey Shea book that I have read, but I was able to get a deep enough understanding of Jackson’s family dynamics and siblings without reading the other four books.
I’m new to cowboy romances, but I am absolutely obsessed with the 2016 remake of the movie The Magnificent Seven and this hit all the marks from what I loved about it. A confident, swaggering, sexy male lead who is totally head over heels for the female protagonist? Yes, please, I’ll take that any day. Throw in that he’s a cowboy with a hat and calls her darlin’ and I’m sold. Hook, line, and sinker.
That’s not even mentioning the power of our stunning female lead, Rosalie! She’s new to Wilder Valley and is the town librarian, which definitely earns her bonus points in my book! 😉🤭 She also is a single mom to an incredibly intelligent young boy named Edward who is described so innocently and loving. I squealed at all of his scenes with Mama Rosalie and I melted at the inclusion of Jackson near the end of the book.
The controlling ex trope can be hit or miss for me, but I applaud how this one was handled by Kacey Shea! She did not make Rosalie cower in fear over what Beckett could do to her and Edward and was very firm on her desires for her son. It was extremely rewarding to see Jackson back her up in this department as well.
Jackson and Rosalie’s chemistry was so smoldering I couldn’t wait to see more of them! The picnic scene? Sheer perfection. It sounds like the perfect way to spend a lazy summer day. This was my first reverse age gap book as well where Rosalie is actually nearly ten years older than Jackson. I enjoyed the dynamic this led to between them first as a fling to friends turned lovers. It was nice seeing Rosalie break her walls of distrust down and Jackson maturing into a respectful young man.
The library scene is one of my favorite romance book scenes of all times, I think! I read it at work on my lunch break and was squealing and kicking my feet in my car the entire time. I am so lucky to have received an electronic ARC copy of this book and now cannot wait to binge the rest of the Wilder Valley books as well as more off Kacey Shea’s backlist! Easy five star read for me!
Going into this book, I wish I had read books 2–4 in the series beforehand. There are a lot of secondary characters, and it was sometimes difficult to keep them straight. It also felt like there were important past events that shaped Jackson’s character that would have added even more depth with a bit more series context.
That said, I really enjoyed Jackson. Despite being younger, labeled the town playboy, and often the family punchline, he turned out to be a surprisingly layered and well-developed character. One pivotal night shifts his perspective in ways he doesn’t fully recognize at first, and I loved how naturally that growth unfolded. His willingness to take responsibility, offer solutions without ulterior motives, and genuinely strive to be the best man he could be for Rosalie was refreshing. Supporting her dreams without judgment—and doing so without hesitation—was such a strong part of his character. Even when he was repeatedly jerked around, he never held it against her. Jackson and Rosalie were exactly what each other needed.
Rosalie frustrated me at times, but in a very human way. She often played the martyr, unable to allow herself happiness because of her past. While her ex clearly contributed to that mindset, she was ultimately the biggest obstacle in her own way. The emotional push-and-pull between her and Jackson occasionally felt repetitive, but it was clear her hesitation came from a place of fear and protection—especially where her son was concerned.
There were many side characters woven throughout the story, which sometimes pulled focus, but the interactions between Jackson and Ryan stood out and added meaningful emotional depth. There were also a couple of plot threads that ended up unresolved that made it seem like they were just here to add words without being necessary.
On a very positive note, the spice was on point. Kacey delivered scenes that felt intentional, engaging, and far from cliché, enhancing the story rather than distracting from it.
Tropes: Small Town Romance Single Mom Best Friend’s Brother Reverse Age Gap (8 years) Forced Proximity Boy Obsessed
Thank you Kacey and the Author Agency for an eARC in exchange of my honest review.
Jackson Wilder. Sir. The man who swore he’d never settle down, never want the picket fence, never trade freedom for forever… absolutely folded like a lawn chair the second Rosalie Masters let him see her soft side. And I loved every second of it.
This book has that delicious small town energy where everyone knows your business but somehow the stakes still feel sky high. Rosalie is a single mom with grace, brains, and a quiet strength that sneaks up on you. She’s prim and polished on the outside, but underneath? Fire. Watching Jackson slowly realize that the “proper” woman he thought he knew has a mischievous streak and a heart big enough to terrify him was chef’s kiss perfection.
Their opposites attract dynamic was electric. He’s rough edges and open skies. She’s structure and careful steps. And yet when they collide? Sparks. Not chaotic drama sparks. The good kind. The kind that feels inevitable. What starts as secret hookups turns into something deeper, heavier, impossible to walk away from. And Jackson spiraling into “I can’t live without her” mode had me grinning like a fool.
But what really got me was the tenderness. The way he looks at her not just as the woman he wants, but as the mother she is. The way he starts picturing a life he once swore off. There’s something wildly romantic about a man realizing he was wrong about his own limits. Watching him wrestle with wanting more, needing more, and not knowing how to convince her to risk her heart again? I was DONE.
Rosalie doesn’t make it easy. And she shouldn’t. She has a child. A past. A heart that’s been careful for a reason. Seeing her slowly believe that maybe this rugged cowboy isn’t just a fling but a future? That hit deep.
This book felt warm, heartfelt, and just the right amount of steamy without ever losing its emotional core. It’s small town romance with grit and sweetness braided together like reins in steady hands.
Five stars. Jackson and Rosalie have galloped straight into my favorites list and set up camp. If you love commitment phobic cowboys falling hard, single mom strength, and that “wild horses couldn’t drag me away” devotion, saddle up immediately. 🐎💛
Rosaline escapes to her best friend’s family ranch under a fake name during the one week each year her ex has custody of their son, a decision rooted in a deeply painful past that slowly unfolds throughout the story. When a booking mistake leaves her without a room, Jackson offers his secluded cabin and promises to keep her presence a secret from his sister. The complication is a scorching one-night stand they shared the year before, and a chemistry that neither of them can quite ignore.
Jackson quickly proves he is more than the town’s carefree playboy reputation suggests. In a bid to win Rosaline over, he devours the romance novels she loves and even attempts to recreate the swoony moments, which is equal parts hilarious, charming, and unexpectedly heartfelt. Beneath the swagger is a man desperate to be taken seriously by his family, by the town, and most of all by Rosaline. As their arrangement shifts from purely physical to deeply emotional, he steps up in ways no one expects, showing patience, loyalty, and a genuine desire to build something real.
Rosaline, guarded and fiercely independent, hides her insecurities behind control and responsibility. She intends their week together to be nothing more than a temporary escape, but feelings complicate everything. Watching Jackson quietly support her dreams, respect her boundaries, and refuse to give up on her, even when she pulls away, makes their connection feel earned rather than convenient.
Despite being younger and constantly underestimated, Jackson emerges as a layered, growth-driven character whose transformation unfolds naturally. He offers solutions without manipulation, takes responsibility for the ranch, and proves he can handle Rosaline’s heart as carefully as he does her body. Together, they become exactly what the other needs: stability for her and purpose for him.
And honestly, a man who reads your favorite romance books just to understand you better is an instant green flag.
It's time for another Wilder to go down and I didn't expect Jackson Wlder to fall like this! Wild Kiss by Kacey Shea was scorching hot, probably the hottest in the series. And it also brings a very interesting dynamics. Jackson surposed Rosalie( and me). Who knew the fun loving easy going manho3 of the family will end up being so sincere and deep!
🏇 forced proximity/ only one bed 🏇 best friend's "little" brother 🏇 reverse age gap ( she is 8 years older) 🏇 good girl × bad boy 🏇 forbidden romance 🏇 small town romance 🏇 found family 🏇 second chance 🏇 set in Wilder Ranch 🏇 single mother
Rosalie chose to hide in her best friend's family ranch under a fake name because this one week of her son belongs to her ex. There is a long humiliating traumatic story here that you have to read yourself. But a booking trouble leaves her without a room. And Jackson offers her to stay in his cabin. He promises to keep it a secret from his sister but there is another problem. One year back, they had a very hot one night stand and Rosaline doesn't want their sizzling hot chemistry to proceed any further. But how can she resist when charming sexy Jackson wants to show her that he is better than her book boyfriends?
If Jackson's sweet talk and sex appeal didn’t do the trick, the way he started reading romance books and wanted to reenact the spicy scenes for Rosalie would do. No one in her family and in their small town take him seriously because he never proved them otherwise. But he isn't the shallow f*cboy only. He wants more responsibilities for family ranch. He wants to take care of Rosalie. Sure, it started with all games of their bodies but soon he started falling for sweet but fierce Rosalie. She hides her insecurities and fears behind her carefully controlled personality but Jackson makes her want to break all the rules. She has responsibilities and priorities and she couldn't afford to be distracted. She thought the one week will be just sinful times but she felt her heart getting involved too. And she ran. Their bodies knew the perfect rhythm but Jackson has to show her that he will handle her heart with equal care and obsession. And oh he did it spectacularly. Healing her heart, sealing the cracks and becoming better than her book boyfriends.
Wild Kiss (Wilder Valley), Book 5 by Kacey Shea, is the final part of the Wilder family series. It features a romance between an older single mom and librarian, Rosalie Masters, and cowboy Jackson Wilder. Jackson works at his family’s ranch with his brothers. Rosalie and Jackson share a past involving an unexpected one-night stand that was supposed to be a “one-time and done” event—so they thought—if either of them had been able to stop thinking about the other. When her child’s Uncle Beckett wants to see her son Edward with only the nanny nearby, Rosalie takes her first weeklong vacation since his birth. She tells her friends she's going to San Diego, but she’s actually heading to the Wilder Ranch, where she books a cabin for the week. With Jackson now managing the cabin rentals, he didn’t notice that when he closed an older web rental page, one cabin was still available, and he rented it to another vacationer—unaware that Rosalie had also booked the same cabin. When Rosalie confronts the other couple, Jackson steps in and offers to let her stay with him for her vacation. Rosalie wants to keep her visit discreet, so Uncle Beckett doesn’t suspect she’s still nearby, and she wants to be able to reach Edward if needed. Reconnecting sparks their smoldering feelings, and the flames quickly flare up. Not wanting their fling to be known to her best friend, Mauve and Jackson’s older sister, they keep their feelings hidden. Their way of navigating family dynamics—facing past fears, letting go of old emotional baggage, and working to keep a new relationship healthy—leads Jackson and Rosalie to find their HEA, as Kacey Shea shares their romance in her book Wild Kiss (Wilder Valley), Book 5.
I have been eagerly awaiting Jackson Wilders story and I have to say it DID NOT disappoint me..Kacey Shea has written such a wonderful romance that I could not get enough of. I cannot tell you how many times I Swooned over Jackson I adored him and the change in him through-out the book from playboy to a man hopelessly in Love was just the best. Jackson is well known around the small town as being a player, carefree and a bit of a joker etc,but all that changes when Rosalie comes into his life. Jackson is Rosalie's best friends brother and she is older than him..reverse age gap yes please,!! They have a secret night of passion together previously and afterwards Rosalie keeps her distance from Jackson. It is a year until sparks start to fly once again...But Rosalie is guarded and I don't blame her after all that she has been through. She is a single Mum to Edward so she has alot to consider when getting involved with anyone. I loved Jackson's persistance he never gives up his pursuit of Rosalie, she seems so prim and proper on the outside but she has a little vixen inside of her,Jackson brings that out in her. They are explosive together and hot but also tender and romantic...they are an ideal match, and Jackson has to prove that to Rosalie and make her see he is the man for her and her son. I love Kacey Shea's writing and the cosy small town vibe projected in this book..The heartwarming moments, the funny moments, emotional moments and the steamy exchanges. I really enjoyed reading this book and cannot wait for the audiobook so I can experience it again in a whole new way. Amazing 5 Stars.

Love this. Love it! The opposite attracts trope, Rosalie in her book loving glory, Jackson being willing to try new things and throwing himself into it full body, the steam (oh, the steam) … just all around fantastic! I couldn’t get enough of them. But, whew, do these two have issues. I feel so bad because both of them can get caught up in their insecurities and it just leads to so much hurt feelings & confusion.
Gotta hand it to Jackson tho, because there are times that he pushes through and puts himself out there when things don’t seem right, getting Rosalie to open up some. Showing her that there are good people in the world, people who will make her a priority and keep coming back. Even when it is scary for him, giving her honesty and emotions that she responds to, which in turn lets him see that he can be more than he thinks. And having someone see & appreciate a deeper him has Jackson evaluating himself in other places.
But I appreciate that Shea also doesn’t go too all in on where their issues could have taken us. There are opportunities to add some extra (probably unnecessary) drama and troubles for them but she gives us something that feels very real for these two. No drama just for drama’s sake.
I really feel these two, their hang ups and their struggle with the changes & potential that their relationship brings. I adore how they are open to it once they get past those issues and work through road bumps. Love you Kacey Shea and I’ll be coming back for more!
**I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**
I have loved every story in the Wilder Valley series and am so excited to finally have Jackson's story! Jackson has always been the carefree brother of the Wilder family, never taking life seriously. Rosalie is the local librarian, and a single mom. She has always been the good girl, and now her whole life is raising her adorable son, Edward. Jackson has always been attracted to older women, and he is definitely drawn to the buttoned up, pearl necklace wearing, librarian who is a close family friend, making her off limits. One night they meet at a bar, and when they begin flirting, the sparks fly, leading to a secret night of passion. Now a year later, Rosalie has kept her distance, but neither can forget the other. When a mistake happens, Jackson offers to let Rosalie stay at his house in secret. She slowly falls under his carefree spell and she makes him want to be a better man. When it's time for her to go home to her son, Jackson is afraid she will ignore him again. So he must prove to her that he is not that player anymore, but her forever loving husband and father. This is such a sweet and romantic story. I loved both Jackson and Rosalie, and how they made each other better. I loved how swoony Jackson was as he supported Rosalie's strength, while showing her she was not alone anymore, and also how great he was with Edward. There were so many sweet and fun moments, along with several tender and moving scenes, and their sizzling passion was off the charts! I loved and devoured every word of this beautiful, heartwarming and sizzling romance!
Jackson Wilder is almost 30 and has no plans to settle down, he loves playing the field and everyone in town knows it. That is until he ends up spending a week with Rosalie Masters and she makes a liar out of him.
Rosalie is 38, a librarian and a single mom to Edward who is 7. She spends most of her down time with her book boyfriends, loving to read all about them. She has a week's vacation coming up while Edward's "uncle" is in town visiting him and she has decided to go away and spend the week in a cabin by herself close to town and not tell anyone where she really is. There was an issue with the reservation and now she doesn't know what to do or where to go. The cabin is owned by her best friend Mauve's family so she booked it under a different name. Jackson happens to show up and she finally tells him the problem and he offers to let her stay at his place for the week. What could possibly go wrong or is it right? Oh and Mauve is Jackson's older sister, oh boy!
Jackson and Rosalie are total opposites but slowly things start to change between them. One night changes his ideas and it takes a while for him to fully understand that change. He wants to be there for her and Edward and supports her and even gets into reading her type of books. For Rosalie she's a lot slower to trust but it's understandable with the things she has gone through.
4.5 stars Loved this story! Watching Jackson finally grow up and Rosalie dropping her walls and then of course little Edward. The bonus epilogue was great!
I don’t have enough words to describe how perfect this book is 😭💖
I loved it from the first page and I was so very sure this book would last me until tomorrow, and obviously that was not the case because I just couldn’t stop reading 😩💖
The story of Jackson and Rosalie is one of the most sweets, spicy and beautiful I’ve ever read, I love the fact that even when Jackson is the playboy of the town, the moment he and Rosalie shared a night he just couldn’t stop thinking about her and the moment they started their week together, it was the moment he realized she and Edward were everything they didn’t know he needed because he wouldn’t let himself dreaming about it 😭❤️🩹 and Rosalie, I love her, she had a very sad and hard life, and even worst when she met Edward’s dad, so I completely understood why she didn’t want to let herself trust Jackson, she though he would hurt her and she was the one who kinda hurt him 😩 but again, I understood her so much and I was so happy when she let herself love him fully 🥹💖
And, the fact that Jackson wanted to be better than Rosalie’s book boyfriends? And he became a reader for her and actually enjoyed reading? Oh my god he’s just perfect and I love him so much 😭💖💖💖💖 and the bond he has with Edward was so sweet and I was verging reading the epilogue with those two 🥹💖
This was my first book by the author but I will be reading the previous ones soon 🙂↔️✨
I have been patiently waiting for this book, I love this world Kacey Shea has built and I love how well each story works together, while also still standing out, especially among all the cowboy romances nowadays. I loved seeing Jackson grow up though this book, he went from a bachelor, from wanting responsibilities and taking the time to make sure everyone respects him and I loved seeing him change. But I also loved seeing him fall head over heels with Rosalie, he really went zero to 100 with her and fought to make sure she considers him as a prospect. I loved that he handled tough situations as an adult, he took competition and adversary well, and I really respected that Kacey Shea didn’t make him revert to his old ways at all.
Rosalie is the town librarian and she is a bookworm, single mom, wanting a week of peace and wine to get through the week without her son, Edward. She is wanting to relax, get drunk, and read some books and I am so here for it, until her plans are blown up and Jackson offers to let her hide out at his place where they reconnect and just become friends and relax after a year of Rosalie avoiding him. I loved seeing them be domestic, go on cute dates, and seeing them connect over the books Jackson was reading. It was all so sweet until it became spicy and fun once they admitted to how much they wanted to sleep together.
I adored this book so much and loved reading it! Can’t wait to see what comes next from Kacey Shea!
A smouldering, swoon-filled reverse age gap romance with heart, heat, and the sweetest little scene-stealer.
Wild Kiss, the fifth book in the Wilder Valley series by Kacey Shea, is everything I adore about this author’s writing — emotional, sexy, and completely immersive.
This sister’s-best-friend, reverse age-gap romance brings all the tension and forbidden longing, but what makes Jackson & Rosalie’s story even more special is that Rosalie is a devoted single mum to the utterly delightful Edward.
And oh my heart… Edward.
He is the sweetest little soul and completely steals every scene he’s in. Watching Jackson slowly fall — not just for Rosalie, but for her son too — is the kind of emotional depth that makes you clutch the book to your chest. The way Edward worms his way into Jackson’s heart is tender, natural, and beautifully written. It adds a whole new layer to the romance, raising the stakes and making every choice feel that much more meaningful.
The chemistry between Jackson and Rosalie? Electric. The tension? Delicious. One minute you’re fanning yourself, the next you’re swooning… and yes, you may need tissues close by.
Jackson is protective, intense, and completely undone by the woman he shouldn’t want. Rosalie is strong, loving, and determined to build a secure life for her son. Together, their journey is passionate, emotional, and deeply satisfying.
Sexy, heartfelt, and layered with real-life emotion, Wild Kiss proves once again why Kacey Shea delivers stories that linger long after the final page.
I can’t wait for you to dive into this one — just be prepared to fall in love with three hearts, not two. 💛
Small-town reverse age-gap cowboy romance? Immediately yes! This was cozy, fun, sweet, and steamy.
Rosalie and Jackson had sweet flirty banter that was so fun to read and their steamy connection was palpable through the pages.
She's been burned before, heavily guarding her heart from breaking again. He's never wanted commitment or a family, a total playboy, until her...
I loved how their story played out. He was determined to change his ways for the better and grow out of his baby brother/playboy ways everyone viewed him as. I loved that he wanted to compete with and be better than the "book boyfriends" our sweet bookish librarian was obsessed with. As a single mom, Rosalie was even more guarded with her heart and son but little by little Jackson starts breaking those walls and helps her heart heal becoming her perfect match.
Tropes: Best friends little brother Small-town Secret relationship Single mom Reverse age gap Found Family Dual POV
Kasey Shae's writing is fun, heartwarming, and easy to read. This is the first book I'm reading in the series though characters are interconnected it definitely can be read as a standalone. Looking forward to going back and reading the previous books and going back to this charming small town.
Thank you TAA and Kacey Shae for the opportunity to read this book.
I am so glad Kacey Shea didn't give up on writing, because then we wouldn't have been treated to another wonderful story in the Wilder Valley series! And the wait for Jackson and Rosalie's story was absolutely worth it!
Jackson is the town playboy...Rosalie is a single mom and the best friend of his sister. They shared one night together in the past and have kept it a secret from everyone. When Rosalie takes some time away, she's expecting to spend a week in a cabin by herself, but an unexpected complication forces her to stay with Jackson, where sparks are bound to fly once again. Rosalie is reluctant to cross those lines again, but Jackson...he shows her that she is wanted and desirable...and that it doesn't matter what their ages are or that she's a mom...or that he can change his playboy ways.
Ahh, I just loved Jackson so much because I truly think he was so misunderstood by his entire family, and even Rosalie to an extent. Yes, the world knows what they see...but there was so much more to him than just that. I loved how they brought out the best in one another and helped each other realize there could be something special there, even if they never intended it to leave the cabin.
I am so happy to be back in Wilder Valley for Rosalie and Jackson's story!! I loved both of these characters and how well they balanced each other out, even though they were opposite in many ways. I loved getting to see the whole cast of characters again and being back on the ranch. It added so much wholesomeness to such a heartwarming book!
I loved Jackson! He was just goofy enough to be cute and just cocky enough to be hot. I appreciated that we got to see his vulnerable side and how much he matured through the story. I also loved how he was so careful with Rosalie's feelings and was so attentive to her.
Rosalie was a great character too. Her self doubts and insecurities were so relatable. I, of course, loved that she was an avid reader and encouraged others to love books just as much. It was fun getting to see her blossom under Jacksons attention.
This was a really sweet and enjoyable story. It held my attention from start to finish and had such wonderful characters. The writing had a great flow and I found myself getting lost in the story. I loved that this story focused on later in life characters and that finding love doesn't end when you pass 30. It was a wonderful read and I would highly recommend it!!
This story was a fantastic way to end the Wilder Family series . . . Although I really hope there will be more from Wilder Valley!
Jackson is the baby of the family, and his family continues to treat him as such. Rosalie is the town librarian, who is a bit of a mystery to Wilder Valley, even though she has made some good friends in town, along with her son.
When Rosalie leaves her son with his uncle for a week she tells all her friends she is taking a trip, but she is too anxious to be so far away from her son and secretly rents a cabin on Wilder property. Unfortunately due to a computer error, the cabin is double booked. When Jackson arrives at the cabin, he lets Rosalie stay at his place.
As Rosalie and Jackson get to know each other, they not only learn each other’s secrets, but also realize they have a connection. They agree to a vacation romance, but when Rosalie heads home, Jackson does not want their romance to end, and he sets out to prove to Rosalie that he is the man for her. But Rosalie has been through a lot in her life, and that past still haunts her.
This is a fantastic story and series! Kacie Shea is an amazing author and I cannot wait for more stories from her!
Jackson was so misunderstood. But maybe he just needed the right woman to show exactly what type of man he is. Not the playboy baby of the family, but the man who loves to cook and is a perfect partner to a very lucky woman. That woman is Rosalie, single mom town librarian. Conservative and a homebody. The world revolves around her son. She doesn't have time for romance or relationships. The only boyfriends she has in her life are those in the romance books she loves to read. She is no stranger to Jackson or his family. Often included in their family gatherings. But she never took Jackson seriously. Never really gave him the chance to show her what he was capable of regardless of their age difference. That was until she spent the week in his cabin with him. She never expected anything to come of this time but the more time she spent with Jackson the more she got to know him and the more she fell for him. The journey to forever was not easy. Oftentimes my heart broke for Jackson. So misunderstood. A beautiful union of two people and a forever love neither one expected but so graciously accepted. A forever and everlasting love for Jackson and Rosalie and a boyfriend/lover for Rosalie that surpasses any and all book boyfriends.
I love Jackson and Rosalie. They made each other stronger and better. Edward, her son, also helped with each of them seeing things differently. A one night stand that neither could forget or stop thinking about, even though she acted as if it never happened, turns in to more. When her son’s biological father comes for a visit, she plans to stay in Wilder Valley, not too far away but out of the house. Unfortunately, he forgot to check reservations and double booked her room. He offers to let her stay at his place. This proves to change everything.
I appreciated how he wanted to prove to her he could be what she needed, not because she asked him to, but because he wanted to be in a relationship with her. I also appreciated that she helped him realize he played into the role that he felt his family put him in. The conversation he had with his brother was heartbreaking, real, and needed. The way he stepped up for Rosalie when her ex tried to exert his power over her was fantastic.
I loved this series and this was well worth the wait. While I’m sad to see the end of Wilder Valley I can’t wait to see what Ms. Shea does next. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.
Wild Kiss by Kacey Shea is small town romance done right with just the right blend of heart, heat, and tension.
This story delivers on all the tropes in the best way. Older woman and younger man. Best friend’s little brother. Secret romance. Age gap. And a swoony cowboy hero who absolutely falls first. The dynamic between these two is electric from the start, but what really makes it shine is the emotional depth beneath the attraction.
The heroine is strong, grounded, and very aware of the risks involved. The hero is confident yet completely gone for her, and watching him step up with steady devotion was everything. The secret relationship adds delicious tension, especially in a small town where everyone notices everything.
Kacey Shea balances romance and heart beautifully. The chemistry is undeniable, but it is the vulnerability and growth that make this story memorable. If you love protective cowboy heroes, age gap romance, and that feeling of two people fighting for something they know is worth it, Wild Kiss is a must read.
Thank you to the author for the ARC. All thoughts are my own.
I have been waiting for Jackson’s story … and I was not disappointed! In the previous books Jackson was just this good time guy but in this book we find out he has many layers that are waiting to be revealed. And Rosalie was quiet and shy on the outside but she was waiting for someone to see the real her. Jackson and Rosalie were just perfect for each other and I so wanted them to have a happily-ever-after. I presume this is the final book in the series and I highly recommend it … and the whole series!
Jackson is the youngest Wilder sibling and he has no intention of settling down like his older brothers. He likes his freedom and makes sure the ladies know it’s just one night. But everything changes when he spends one night with his older sister’s friend Rosalie. A year later he still can’t get her out of his head. Rosalie is a single mother who moves to Wilder Valley to get away from her ex and start her life fresh. She’s tired of people whispering about her and her son. Now she leads a quiet life and has a few close friends … but she has secrets no one can find out about.
Wild Kiss was everything you want in a small town cowboy romance with that bit extra with it being a reverse age gap. The chemistry between Rosalie and Jackson is electric and when they are thrown together unexpectedly the tension between them is intense. Jackson is the baby brother and the playboy of the family, a guy who never wanted to settle down or have a family, until Rosalie. Rosalie is a single mum with a heart so guarded and protected that it is going to take everything Jackson can do to knock these sky high walls down. These two are perfect for each other, with Rosalie showing Jackson that he needs to show everyone he is more than the little brother and with Jackson healing her heart a little more each day. Their story was about growth, trust and learning to love. A story that was not only filled with heated moments but also felt like a warm embrace when you needed it the most. The emotions run high in this book and watching Jackson fall for Rosalie was one thing but watching him fall in love with her son was something else. A story that is filled with passion and heartfelt moments that will steal your breath away.
Right from the start of this series, Ms. Shea has delivered captivating, brilliantly written and entertaining page-turning stories that are impossible to put down. Wild Kiss is the fifth book in the Wilder Valley series and it's a best friend's brother, who happens to be younger and the town's playboy cowboy, romance. The story is one of family and friendship, and of two people who are so opposite that when the sparks ignited, nobody ever saw it coming. Between the covers, I was swooned by Jackson Wilder by his smooth talking and caring ways. He was not the man everyone thought he was or what he presented himself to be. Then there is Rosalie, the friend of his older sister and a single mother whose past is not filled with rainbows and happniess but the one light in her life is Edward, her son. He steals every scene he is in. I loved watching Jackson fall hard for Rosalie, not just a week-long fling but someone who means so much more. Their time together saw them grow individually. They shared secrets from their lives, which had them fling even harder for one another. I highly recommend grabbing Wild Kiss and the beautiful story of Jackson and Rosalie.
