While some might think they can just dive into this book, if you really want to get to know Butcher’s character better, it's best to start from the beginning of the series
Buckle up. It’s going to be a wild ride.
Once his CIA team was broken up and he was set loose into a world that had no idea what he was capable of, Butcher found himself in the club. He had experienced more than anyone else there combined. His task force tackled some of the most horrific crimes against humanity, making a real difference for many, both directly and indirectly.
I must say, I totally fell for Butcher right from the start of this series! As it went on, we got to see more and more of him. Butcher genuinely cares about his club and the people in it, even if he doubts his ability to feel those emotions…… His approach to things can be a bit unconventional. but those who truly know him can see that his heart is in the right spot.
Isla is a top-notch assassin, skilled in Krav Maga and various ground fighting styles. Her precision with a gun is rivaled only by her talent for throwing knives. There aren’t many women in this line of work, but she’s built an impressive reputation through sheer grit and a fair amount of bloodshed. She lives by one rule: never get attached to the target. Hired to eliminate a so-called brutal killer, she unexpectedly encounters a dangerously attractive biker who’s hard to resist. When the moment comes to fulfill her contract, she finds herself caught between her duty and her growing desire.
Don’t get things all twisted in your head that just cuz Butcher was in love and had found the perfect woman it didn’t mean that he still didn’t need violence and death to keep him grounded. He’d always need that. But now, he needed Isla, too.
I highly suggest checking out this series if you love a good mystery and thriller, complete with an engaging backstory and a dash of spice. Plus, it’s always fun to have some playful banter among friends in your romance thrillers!

First Impressions
Butcher is the 9th book in the Viking Rampage MC: Tucson series and this is where we get the anti hero of the group's story. Now Butcher is probably the most mysterious of them all. You know he has a rough past and is a hardened warrior and is used to keeping things closed up and not sharing and he also has glimpses of being a psychopath of sorts. He doesn't quite understand emotion like others do or process relationships in the same way. We have a clash of similar personalities in this pairing and we see how well Butcher and Isla fit together and compliment one another. It really fit Butcher and is personality and what he needs in the bedroom.....he needed a woman who can match that level of intensity and this duo author writing team really delivered a solid story.

Summary
Isla has been hired out to do a hit on a man that is apparently very hard to kill, as other fellow assassins have been contracted to kill him but none have been able to succeed. Isla hasn't yet failed on her contracts and is determined to not fail with this one....there is only one problem....she feels a connection to Butcher she hasn't ever felt before and for the first time doesn't know if she can complete the contract. Butcher is a psychopath but loyal to his MC brothers. When a gorgeous woman tries to kill him....he is intrigued and not that angry about it because he feels something he can't explain and he knows that she is worth exploring. But she could end up being his weakness...
What I Loved
This was quite a wild ride and I had a blast with this one. I had put this one off for a bit because I never know how I will react to an enemies to lovers type of pairing. However, this author writing team DELIVERED it completely for me. I had such a fun time with it and seeing how well these two fit was such a delight. It had a much lighter tone than I actually expected while also being a bit edgier than other books in the series. I did like that both characters are on the same wave length in how they process emotions and view relationship. I found it quite fascinating to see that being explored and how they come to realizing what love is and fighting for it. They had a delightful banter. The plot keeps you guessing to see who is behind the attacks on Butcher (which has been building throughout the series) and I was fascinated to see the type of woman Isla would be and see how well she fit for Butcher. The spice in the book might not be for everyone. Its a bit more "violent" than most are probably used to so be aware of that. I also liked seeing their adopted "grandfather" of sorts for Butcher and Toxic and why they have such a close bond. And after reading the blurb for Toxic, I can't express how excited I am. (I love romances on ranches and honestly...that isn't what I expected for Toxic or for him to be a cowboy in secret but I am living for that reveal lol )
What I Struggled With
I think the pacing was a bit off in certain spots of the story. Also I would have preferred to get more background and growth from Isla. I feel like we didn't get much there, or at least not as much as I would have liked. I do love good character growth for heroines and felt like she could have been explored way more than she was.
Overall View
Butcher was a roller coaster of intrigue, secrets in the dark and a villain who is connected to some past secrets that will deliver a passionate deeply layered romance.

I fell in love with Butcher as soon as I started this series! We got more and more glimpses of Butcher as the Tucson series continued and I couldn’t wait for his book. Butcher cares deeply for his MC and everyone around them even if he thinks he isn’t capable of such feelings.
There is only who person who can handle Butcher, and that person is Isla. If you haven’t read the series I’ll keep the Isla info small. But I will say not only did she win Butcher over, but she won me over too!

I wouldn’t recommend starting with his book as many people from previous books are in his story; and you will understand Butchers character better by starting with Hush!

I absolutely loved this book—it is my favorite of the entire series! Butcher is absolutely nuts and completely confused when he starts catching feelings. Isla is perfect for him. I love morally gray heroines, and she was pretty darn close to Butcher on the morality scale, lol. You'd think that two characters who are so similar wouldn't work, but it was wonderful watching them fall in love. Their chemistry was great, and their banter made me laugh out loud many times. The story was well-written, fast-paced, and had tons of action. I also loved watching Isla get dragged into participating with the MC's girl gang they had going on with the old ladies/wives. Such a great read - I can't wait for Toxic!

Butcher and Toxic have always been a favourite of mine throughout the books, so I was so happy to read Butchers story.
Cathleen wrote Butcher perfectly, and you really got to understand his struggle with feelings and how, through the book, he began to recognise them more. Thanks to Isla, Toxic, and the rest of the MC.
I liked how Butcher didn't try to stop Isla from helping, and instead, she became part of the team. Her character development, uncertainty from being alone for so long, and realisation that she wanted to be part of the MC was on point. I loved how she named her weapons. Ms. Murder Mittens, the bob cat sounds hilarious!
My only wish was we had more scenes of her with the other women and general club life.
As always, Cathleen mixes plot, smut, and humour into her books.
The book ended way too fast for me and left me wanting more. Gutted, I've got to wait for Toxic and Lockouts books as well as the new MC chapters.

I really liked this book. I was anxious to learn more about Butcher after glimpses of him in the other books in this series. I don't think this is a stand alone book. I think to really get to know Butcher you have to read all the books he appears in where he interacts with the women and the kids and his best friends. There is a tremendous amount of humor in this book but once again it is funnier if you have the full background of the characters from previous writings. Great story, great character development and great series.

TBH I found Butcher and Toxic to be kind of annoying in the previous books and I wasn't too excited for this one. But, I was pleasantly surprised and really loved Butcher's story. Isla was a great FMC, probably my favorite next to Seek, and I think this book was a great addition to the series.

Wow! I have really enjoyed this series. Butcher and Toxic are the wild cards and I do mean wild. But, this title was the absolute best. I lol so many times. The humor is bold and vulgar. It's a good script.

I first fell in love with Butcher when he made an appearance in the Austin chapter. There was just something about this psycho that put hearts in my eyes. With each Tucson book, we got to see more and more of Butcher. Even though you don’t want to be on his bad side, he has a black heart of gold for his MC family, brothers, old ladies and especially the kids. Cathleen and Frank did not disappoint with Butchers story! I did not want to put this book down!
I knew Butcher would need a strong old lady and an assassin is perfect. Isla is a loner, an assassin, and honestly a lil psycho. She is truly the perfect woman for Butcher. Not only did she win Butchers black heart of gold, but she won the heart of the brothers, old ladies, and the lil hellions aka the kids.
I love that the book had a great story line and just enough spice! 10 out of 10!

BUTCHER Decoded ! ** NO SPOILERS **
It’s been a while since I read book 8 and (shockingly) I’d forgotten just how brilliant these MC characters are. It was honestly like coming home…in an awesome casual violence kind of.
TBH casual violence or even violence of any sort isn’t my normal everyday thing, BUT against fictional bad guys? Yeah I’m all on board. It’s cathartic.
Onto the real issue, Butcher meets his match and more information comes out to the reader about his personality and his mindset. Learning about a psychopath is an unusual experience but very rewarding (and different). Like discovering his lack of understanding on social cues and even his own emotions. On top of that feat finding him a potential love interest (in this case female) who is capable of understanding him was priceless.
It probably makes me sound like an absolute psychopath myself to say that this book is full of literal laugh out loud scenes, but there really were lots. The authors have pulled off a masterpiece with this book, creating such believable characters, psychopaths or not and then apparently effortlessly blending them into a believable storyline. Each book has its own highlights or plot hooks to engage the reader and they’re all well worth reading. For me this one is the best one yet.
If you like MC stories with realism, finding your ‘person’ and a helping of hope then read on.

This is a well written action packed story, which has found family, friendships, emotions, loyalty, secrets, intrigue, danger, suspense, revelations, humour, witty banter, crazy shenanigans, undeniable chemistry, and love which all leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and captivating addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Right, wow. This couple YES, I have been so excited to read about Butcher and I was not disappointed. This has everything I wanted and more and Isla being a badass fuck yeh. Her being an assassin was everything and falling for him, they are perfect for each other.
I’m honestly in love this is number 2 for me wow, I loved this relationship so much and how they teased each other and just fucked with one another was too good.

How have I not seen this series around!? This book was so good! I love a good MC book but man, everything that was written in was so freaking good and I couldn’t put it down!
Isla is a killer for hire. She has been in this line of work for years and is very good at it. She picked up a big case that her handler sent her. It seems to be a pretty easy kill but of course they’ve been sending random people to get the job done and every single one of them hasn’t come back from the job. This has her very intrigued. She takes the job of course but doesn’t really expect what is to come.
Butcher has been in the MC for years and he comes from the Army. Someone has been trying to kill him and his team for the past few months but he has caught on to every single one so far. When he meets a woman in a bar, he expects a wild night but doesn’t realize she’s another assassin out to kill him. He doesn’t let her go tho. Nope. He keeps her because something is drawing him to this woman and he’s not letting her go.
He literally ties her up to keep her around 🤣 it doesn’t last long thankfully as she finally decides she might want to stick around and see what’s really going on. They come together to find out who’s after him and all hell breaks loose. Shit comes from all sides and it turns out, Isla was a great partner to have around when it all came together.
This book was spicy! I loved it! The way they were together and the respect they built for each other was incredible. This was the first book I read of this series and I can most definitely starting it from the beginning. I can’t wait to see what the last book has in store!

I feel like there were 3 possibilities for Butcher’s love interest. 1) a short, curvy, ultra-feminine doll like woman who called to his protective instincts, but had no problem with his blood thirsty side. 2) An assassin that was as deadly as he is or 3) some nebulous being that could take on both Butcher and Toxic as part of a throuple. This author chose option 2.
Butcher has always been a favorite of mine, because he’s just unhinged and doesn’t give a shit about it. I was almost hoping for a throuple with Toxic, because they are joined at the hip. However, I’m glad that’s not the direction that was chosen.
Isla seems to be the perfect woman for Butcher. She’s been sent to kill him and for whatever reason, doesn’t when she has the chance. Instead, he ties her up, so she can’t escape.
I love this book not just for the main storyline, but also the supporting characters. I’m really hoping there will eventually be a Next Generation series, because I want Uncle Butcher and Toxic to go full on mental when Priest’s girls start dating. Their personalities are really starting to show and it’s all Butcher and Toxic’s fault.
It’s really nice to see that one of the FMC’s has been around and a part of the violence these men have, in some fashion. She’s not a “normal” woman. She’s not one to have a regular job like the other Old Ladies. Isla can hold her own, and sometimes better, than the men.

My favorite book so far out of this series!
5 STARS 1000%! I loved Butcher so much throughout the whole series, I couldn’t wait to finally get to read his story. He was my favorite out of all of them. I kept thinking “How in the world are they going to convince me as a reader that Butcher actually finds somebody who he falls in love with? And me believe it?”, but I admit, I really enjoyed the storyline and an assassin sent to murder him and him being so sexy and unhinged enough that they actually attract is believable in my opinion. Butcher & Isla were great as individuals, I loved their banter, from all the characters actually, and I loved them together! I think Isla was actually my favorite FMC out of all the female characters. She wasn’t too corny, just corny enough, tough, strong, beautiful, and I loved her for Butcher. I loved how unhinged Butcher was, I loved how he was slowly finding out that he loved her, the way he was confronting those new feelings that felt completely uncomfortable for him.. I loved this book so much! Also, the spice again was chefs kiss! The bar scene, Butcher is HOT when he sets his sights on Isla. Before they end up in his bed, I never thought I’d find a man sucking on a woman’s fingers would be so sexy, but hey I guess I just have a thing for unhinged men.. or maybe just Butcher. Lol. 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this. I fell in love with Butcher when he was initially introduced in the Austin chapter books. The psychotic, but love for his brothers was evident from the beginning. As we’ve gone through the Tucson series, my love for Butcher has only grown the dynamic between him and toxic always makes me giggle, learning all that we’ve learned about Butcher made it evident that the person who is going to steal his heart needed to have a strong personality and a good dynamic. While the relationship between Isla and Butcher was rocky due to the introduction, it was phenomenal to see their relationship grow and both of them come to terms with emotions and feelings that they’ve never really been able to express before, the icing on the cake how quickly she fell into groove with the shenanigans of Toxic and Butcher!
I love that we get to learn more about Butcher and his past. I wish there could’ve been a little more about him as a kid, but I’ve loved to seeing how Toxic and his father really took Butcher under their wings and made him realize that he was family And that they cared for him. I’m so excited to see what shenanigans everyone gets up to with toxic book!

Let me tell you Butcher & Toxic are my favourite MMC. For the longest of time I’ve been waiting for butchers story forever!
Butcher met his match in Isla, they are honest to go perfect for each other! We really got to understand Butcher so much more throughout the book, his struggles with understanding his feelings. Whilst butcher thought he was a psychopath you understand that he is no where near that. I loved seeing how in his own way he said for his brothers, their wives and children!
I loved Isla. She is so different from all the other FMC, she has to be my favourite. Her character development from the uncertainty from being alone for so long and her realisation that she wanted to be apart of a team and have a family! That she didn’t want to be alone! I loved how butcher pushed her to realisation and also didn’t try to contain her and stop her from helping the team!
I would have liked to have seen more about Isla family back ground and her spend more time with the group. However, this book was perfect, the humour, spice and the perfect amount of plot!

This is one of my favourite series and I have waited for Butchers book. I knew it would be good but holy hell this is favourite. I was laughing out loud so much and I just couldn’t get enough. I needed more. Ughh, I wish this book didn’t need to end. I couldn’t keep the smile off my face throughout the whole book. Isla and Butcher were the perfect match for each other, both learning that they love and care for those around them in their own unique way and for each other. I loved seeing a different side of Butcher and getting to know him as a person after hearing so much about him throughout the other books. Isla never had anyone but herself and Ms Mittens so I quite enjoyed watching her try and navigate this new found family she had within the MC club. I loved that the boys accepted Isla into their fold and trusted her with their old ladies and kids and let her come along. I honestly loved everything about this book

Butcher is the best book in the Viking's Rampage MC: Tucson Chapter 9) Butcher was a standout in character development and plot in this series. Being insane, one would never think there would be a woman who could handle Butcher, but Manta not only became someone of value to him, but was able to mirror his craziness, and the cat. OMG, the cat. My only thought would have the cat (spoiler) not growing attached to Butcher, but rather a distractive component to their relationship. Although the entire series is a collection was not only entertaining, but true to form in the MC world. The authors managed to combine a tough group of men, quirky women, a few strange pets, and a whole lota spice in all of the books. The others in the series I would award 4 stars to. Cole and Jensen make a great writing team. I love anything they write. Coodos for not forgetting to put the MC into your MC romance. Gotta have the blood and guts thing along with the love.

I first fell in love with Butcher when he made an appearance in the Austin chapter. There was just something about this psycho that put hearts in my eyes. With each Tucson book, we got to see more and more of Butcher. Even though you don’t want to be on his bad side, he has a black heart of gold for his MC family, brothers, old ladies and especially the kids. Cathleen and Frank did not disappoint with Butchers story! I did not want to put this book down!
I knew Butcher would need a strong old lady and an assassin is perfect. Isla is a loner, an assassin, and honestly a lil psycho. She is truly the perfect woman for Butcher. I have been waiting for Butcher’s story ever since I was first introduced to him and it did not disappoint. All he needed was another cold blooded killer of the female persuasion to cross his path! Hehe. Butcher fell hard and fast, rapidly becoming a one woman man. He knew what he had in front of him…tied to a chair in his room, haha!
We already know what a bad mofo Butcher is and he has met his match in Isla. I loved her so much! She had such great character development, going from a lonely existence to wanting the love and companionship of Butcher and the club.
The scenes where she kicked booty and showed what she was capable of was so fun to read.
The interactions with the kids were hilarious. They definitely earned their Hellions designation!
The storyline was great, with a ton of action, suspense and the humor I have come to love from the characters.
On to Toxic!

Wow, Viking MC member Butcher, meets Assassin Isla, in a not so meet cute, and love not so much blossoms, as slices it's way through their hardened exteriors via a mutual love of violence and fear of feelings!
Beneath their exteriors lie pasts of abuse, neglect and trauma and watching these two start to trust each other is beautiful.
The steam is great as gentleness doesn't come easy to either of them. That said, they complete and satisfy each other.
As always the heart and soul of these books is the found family, acceptance, humour and support.
Butcher's bestie, Toxic, is best supporting actor and we all love him, this time we meet his Dad too, who is invaluable in showing Butcher that love looks different for everyone.
Excellent read, one of my favourites in this series so far.

Isla přijme kontrakt na zabiti Butchera... No nebude to tak lehké, jak si myslela... Byl pro ni vyzva a tak prijala... On si rad hraje a tak začíná hra na kocku a mys a následně je to souboj dvou silenych osob.... Jejich chemie je az hmatatelna... Jejich osobnosti me bavily hodne...A Isla si naivne mysli, ze mu může odolat, ale nema vubec sanci. Jejich pribeh je plny nasili, porozumeni a sebepoznani... Je to dalsi skvely příběh od Cathleen Cole a Franka Jensena a ja jsem si ho moc ráda precetla a uzila si ho od zacatku do konce... Co udělá nerizena strela, ktera půjde pres mrtvoly, kdyz prijde na bezpeci jeho milovanych a najemna vražedkyne, ktera svuj puvodni cíl najednou vidi uplne jinak, kdyz se na ne uspořáda hon....?!?
