Rebranding The Church: Rediscovering The Greatest Story Ever Told To Connect with Modern Audiences

Rate this book
Why do Church leaders and Christian organizations struggle to connect with modern audiences?

Where once the church was a cornerstone of local communities, today many people believe it is irrelevant or out of touch. And so, church leaders are now stuck between a warped public

perception and the true message of the Gospel.

If you care about the Christian message today, it is hard not to feel discouraged.

But what if we look at this all wrong?

What if the problem isn’t that people don’t care but that the messaging around the Gospel is confusing and unrelatable?

If you want people to join your movement, you have to tell them a story they actually want to be in.

Peder Tellefsdal has set out to help make the Gospel relevant again to modern audiences. His TEDx talk "How to seek forgiveness when relationships are on the line” has 1.7 million views.

In this book, you will learn:

The two “ditches” that modern Christian organizations fall into.
Best practices for effective communication that have stood the test of time.
How to clearly articulate the message of the Gospel in a way that engages modern audiences.
Why we need to reclaim the language of morality.
How to build a powerful personal brand that represents your organization.
Media coverage for church a step-by-step guide.
Why “grace” is Christianity’s greatest value proposition and how to leverage it—and much more.

With the right messaging strategy, any church leader can grow their membership and re-engage existing members. In this book, you’ll learn how. Grab your copy today!

How to reach today's audience with the message of grace through Jesus Christ?

A question that church leaders, congregations and the individual Christian struggle with every single day. The backdrop, in the case of Europe and the United States, is increased secularization and what historian Tom Holland describes as the first "post-Christian" generation..
The book challenges in several areas, where two of them in my opinion are of particular interest: The first: Has the church secularized itself?

Do you adapt to the prevailing currents, instead of polishing your core message? Examples are highlighted of several polarizing debates that ravage society – and the churches – today. Many churches experience deeply divisive debates about questions that demand answers. May these drain energy and potentially weaken focus on the core message?

The second aspect, closely linked to secularization, is that many people do not have any significant knowledge of the church, except for the organizational part. The concepts of sin and grace gives no sense. Jesus Christ, his atoning sacrifice and resurrection and what it means for the individual is for many a "blind spot". The opportunity lies in the fact that this "new audience" can be met with a clearer message without the biases you carry with you. In the book, church leaders are interviewed who emphasize the importance of the individual Christian meeting people where they are – in Our everyday life.

Anyway; the project of conveying "The greatest story ever told" - is as demanding as it is crucial for the "foothold" of the gospel in the Western world. Maybe our generation can rediscover the gospel, and maybe we as Christians; individuals, preachers and churches can each in our own way be pawns in this? The author's background as a communications advisor and his personal experiences of finding his way back to grace make, in my opinion, that the Lionchurch is a concept that should resonate.

Some books fall into the category “nice to haves”, others in the category “must reads”. Peder Tellefsdals “Rebranding the Church” belongs in my opinion to the second category. There are several reasons for this. First of all I am touched by Peders passion. He is an “all in – person” who, himself transformed by grace, is dedicated to train others to reach our world with grace too. His heartbeat can be felt on every page. Then he brings all he has learned through his personal journey of faith, combined with his professional experience and training as a PR consultant into play. The result is a very valuable read. The book gives you a grasp of the unique message of the Gospel of Jesus, of the times in which we are living, why the church to such large extent has lost touch with the people of our day, and what we can do about it. There’s no excuse for any delay. Sell your bed and get your copy.

An interesting look at how we can address culture’s current problems with solutions the church can offer. It’s nothing new except for how we look at it and the language we use. Christ long ago provided all we need to live for Him and lead others to Him. What has changed is us—society, culture…people. So, to reach them we need to find a way to say the same thing differently. Jesus hasn’t changed. His message hasn’t, and will never, change. But, Jesus always met people where they were and spoke to them in ways they could understand. Rebranding the Church offers solid concepts for just doing just that.

A book that connects the past and the present in the communication of the gospel.

Peder's unique perspective, blending communication expertise with a personal journey, sheds new light on how Christianity is viewed today. It's a powerful exploration of how the church arrived at its current state, while also guiding readers back to the core message of Jesus' story, and why this story is so different from any other.
The church has a complex problem, and this is a source for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of faith and how to communicate it.
