Book 2 of the Descendants Trilogy surpasses Book 1 by providing an intense and unpredictable continuation of the Somvanshi saga.

The plot picks up right where the first book ended. The story again revolves around ancient magic, mythical creatures and family secrets. Jay has been missing for two years during which time his disappearance has continued to affect the Somvanshis due to the black element. As Karan tries to understand more about this element, he stumbles on shocking truths that can potentially destroy everything he thinks he knows about himself and his family.

On another note, Shantanu Somvanshi has been on a hunt for how best he can tap into the power possessed by black element; hence it takes him towards a young spirited lady who is alleged to have all its mysteries. This fresh character gives a new twist in the story as well as making her interactions with members of Somvanshis very fierce and interesting.

Throughout this book, multiple threads are excellently interwoven by writer leaving readers with unexpected surprises at every nook and cranny. Its momentum is breathless hence one cannot put it aside once they start reading it. The Somvanshis’ struggle to accept their new reality is real as they test each other’s relationship to breaking point.

Its world-building stands out and the writing captures all senses, thereby transporting readers into a universe that is richly conceived and teeming with life. on the whole, “The Ancestors” is an exciting sequel that will have you biting your nails. For lovers of fantasy and adventure alike, it is a must read since it moves at top speed; there are surprises galore as well as engaging characters. This means that even if you have not read the first book yet, there is enough background information about this part to make it accessible for new readers. However remember-you will never stop until you get there!

ACTION-PACKED
The Ancestors is a good read for me. It engages you till the last page. Although writing is a little bit jittery in this as compared to The Descendants, overall this is something I was looking for after the first book of the series.

The story continues from the last book; it has been 2 years since Jay disappeared, and Karan has developed cutting-edge technology and discoveries since he became a CEO of Vantra. And that's what makes this book interesting because the story mainly revolves around Karan; while working in Vantra, he unfolds many hidden past incidents and secrets that are directly or indirectly connected to him. The center point of this book is Karan, not Jay (what I thought while reading the book). On the other hand, Somavanshis have full control over their new superpowers, and that's the second point, which makes this more intriguing as it provides some power-packed action sequences and fighting scenes, which we usually watch in Hollywood superhero movies.

Although character development in this book is not that good as compared to The Descendants. For example, Antima, the new character who has been introduced in the book, is not fully utilized; maybe writers want her in the next part. Also, the story drastically shifts from Gridhar to the New Antagonist, which was really shocking for me because I had never thought that this character was responsible for all this chaos.

Overall, it is a fun and adventurous ride for me, as it really gives me a feeling of some sort of superhero movie, which I also crave for. Looking forward to the next part (The Lineage), which is released; hope I'll get it as soon as possible.

🪨 "The Ancestors: Book 2 of The Descendants Trilogy" authored by Laksh Maheshwari and Ashish Kavi is an exciting saga which continues on here and Somvanshis receive new powers and discover new facts which they have never heard before. This is especially key in realm of transition of self image as both the characters of Karan and Shantanu encounter aspects which are ascribed to the subject of persona. They therefore bring about a twist in the conventional way that events tend to reveal an interesting and dynamic sequence of that which contains passion element as regards him.

The Ancestors, being the second book of the Descendants series, moves the series up to a whole new level with a mind blowing and thrilling storyline. Perhaps the things that are most interesting in the book are how this black element which is portrayed as a form of power, becomes the essence of the book. It reveals great many dark things about Somvanshi family, which upturns everything on its head & injects more tension.

One of the memorable characters in this sequel is the young woman who should elucidate the meaning of black element. Her relationship with Somvanshi family full of tension and suspense, which gives new look to the story. She comes into the family and offers new tasks to accomplish, as they have to face the truth and their biggest fears.

The tempo of the book is raised, there are a lot of unpredictable moments that do not let you fork over in short terms. Still, the authors do not let themselves get overwhelmed with the speed of flowing events and create a rather rich world with deep and rather individualistic characters that make the actions interesting.

If you have read the previous book, you will definitely like “The Ancestors” It can be interesting to any audience, to lovers of fantasy with intrigue, magic and
