As a Southern Baptist involved in missions, I have heard a lot of things about Lottie Moon throughout the years. I read a book a few years ago, and was getting ready to teach about Lottie Moon and the Christmas Offering this year at our church, so I got my hands on some other books. I really learned a lot of further details from this book, and it was one that a lot of children would enjoy reading. It's helping me a lot as I prepare to share some missions education with our congregation. The play on words about the title was fabulous as well. I will probably buy a copy of this book!

Read this with my granddaughter and loved the honest. Lottie was certainly not 'pretty, pretty princess' which suited my granddaughter's idea of being a real girl. Struggles abound but with a can do spirit. This story reminded grandma also that children are watching and it is so important to be a good example.

This is a short and stirring biography of the great missionary to China, Lottie Moon. Published in 1958 it may be politically incorrect for today's sensitive readers. Written at a younger child's level, it is still valuable for a curious adult.

I first read this book back in about 3rd grade when I checked it out of our church library (at this point nearly 50 years ago). Being involved in the mission group GA's (then Girls Auxiliary) made me interested in reading about Lottie, for whom the Lottie Moon Offering for Foreign Missions was named (now International Missions). It was very accessible for me to read and I still remember particular parts of it - such as the chapter where she cooks Sunday dinner for the family - something you didn't do on the day of rest.

This is still considered one of the best books on Lottie Moon's life. Unfortunately it has been out of print for some thirty years which is a real shame. Hopefully most church libraries, at least Southern Baptist churches, still retain a copy and keep it well-repaired. I'd love to re-read it myself at some point in time - finding a copy will be the trick.

Just picked up this book for a while from the church library. Heard of lottie moon before but didn't exactly knew her story, and this simple book gave a brief but insightful introduction to her life story. which is really in fact, His story (:

I enjoyed reading this as a child. I still like the name Lotte or Lottie, too. :)
