An ancient curse, a missing artefact, and a murderous mummy … life at the Museum of Magical Artefacts is as interesting as ever …
When a touring exhibition comes to the museum, Annie is itching to see it. But when the exhibition finally opens, it might not stay open for long. On day one, a mummy comes to life, commits murder, and goes on the run.
Annie has a lot going on. Her familiar is missing, she has a crush on Jake Doolin, and she’s just started Pilates. She doesn’t have time to solve a murder – and she certainly doesn’t want to deal with Laine Shannon, the cocky treasure hunter who’s asked her out.
As the murders stack up, Annie fears that she might have to get involved – in solving the case, at least. An ancient artefact is calling to Annie, and it could be the key to the latest mystery at the museum…
A.A. Albright lives in the Irish countryside with her husband.
She loves reading in every genre, but writing cozy mysteries is just about the most fun she's had in a decade.

Annie is settling into her job at the Museum of Magical Artefacts, crushing on coworker, Jake, and bonding with reformed werewolf, Fee. The museum’s protection has given her a chance to relax about her magical gift. A super secret new exhibit from the reclusive Pookeen, has piqued her interest despite the rudeness of their guards, especially as she’s been dreaming about an artifact from the collection. The only fly in the ointment is the arrival of cocky treasure hunter, Laine. But just as the exhibit opens, there is another murder, and another escaped artifact, this time a mummy. As the bodies pile up, can Annie’s magic be the key to solving this case? Director Ralph doesn’t give her much choice as he decides to test her skills.
A.A. Albright delivers another fantastic paranormal mystery in this follow up to Killer Knight at the Museum. Great characters, a nicely puzzling plot, a touch of danger, and a smidge of romance all come together in a fast paced fun read. I really loved Annie’s interactions with the Griffin, the Athena statue, and the mummy, Lyra. Lyra’s history was heartbreaking and I was pleased with the how it was resolved. Familiar Dora had too small of a role this time, so I’m really looking forward to book 3 focusing more on her.

I really enjoyed book 1 and was looking forward to this one. It did not disappoint. It's a great, well-written story, easy to follow (even if you haven't read book 1, which you really should as you'll have a better background of the characters, etc). There is, of course, murder and mystery, and the tale is mixed with magic, great quirky characters, and are easy to relate to. There's a touch of POSSIBLE romance, and a lot of humor.
Annie uses her magical talents to help solve a murder that happens when an exhibit is brought to the Museum of Magical Artefacts, where she works. As with the first book, I found the resolution of the mystery a bit unexpected and well executed.
Bring on book 3!!!.

A very good follow-up to Killer Knight at the Museum, this book focuses much more on the people at the museum rather than on Annie's family, which I enjoyed. There were some surprising twists at the end that I definitely didn't see coming, and I liked the way everyone came together to "help" in the end. Ralph, the museum's owner, is a terrible person, though, and I couldn't believe some of the things he was doing to his staff and to Annie. Very manipulative. The slow (very slow) burn romance stirring between Annie and Jake is a little heartbreaking, as they just have so many obstacles to overcome. I hope these characters will be able to get some good news in future books.

I really enjoyed this book. I already expected it to be good after reading the author's first book “Killer knight at the museum”, which I loved. And again the author delivers everything I could wish for.
The book is charming, slightly humorous, unpredictable and mysterious. The characters are different and relatable. The main character is brave and honest, but also faillable and endearing. The story has a perfect pace that draws you in. It is an exciting adventure but without too much violence or blood, a breath of fresh air. I love this perfect balance.
It was a relaxing page turner and I was really sad when the story ended, because I couldn't get enough of it. I am really looking forward to reading the next book.
I liked a lot about the book. However, the way Jake and Annie were attempting to start a relationship? That is totally beyond frustrating. To just get up and walk away from a conversation because someone is looking for me? Not happening - and she does it more than once. I absolutely hate love triangles, and this is doing nothing but setting it up to look like one (if not in actuality). Ralph is NOT a nice person - I'm leaning more towards evil - and the fact that everyone is folding for him, and he is basically blackmailing everyone is just too much. Not certain I can keep going with the series.
Absolutely loved this! I couldn’t stop reading it. A mummy coming back to life and committing murder, who would want to put the book down?! Annie is beyond tested by Ralph, who she finally just met. He’s as bad as everyone said. She also meets Laine, another magical artifact researcher with the same type of power she has. She learns a lot about Ralph from him. Annie also learns a lot about herself and her importance to the museum. That was a huge confidence boost. Can’t wait for the next book!
Well, it's here... Second book in the Museum of Magical Artefacts series. It's always a fifty-fifty chance with the second book of a new series: Will it be as good as the first, better or worst? This one is just as good! We learn a little more about the characters, where the series is going. The plot was fun, the mystery mysterious and the magic magical! There was more interaction with the Griffin and this character is becoming one of my favorite. I just love him.
I received this book as part of an ARC team and this is my honest review.
This is book 2 of Museum of Magical Artefacts. This book makes me want to go to more museums and see what is in there. This book has funny parts and solving a murder. Friends who are a werewolf going vegan, a crush who has a secret, and a new guy who can do a little of what the main character can do with magical artefacts. This book takes me away from a normal life and brings smiles, laughs, and mischief.

I love this series so far. Her budding friendships being put to the test, a murdering mummy, and a curse made this a fast-paced read. There never seemed to be a dull moment. I love Jake. I hope Annie can continue to bring him out of his shell (or make him more visible, would be more accurate).

A.A. Albright knows how to write a story and make the reader want more. I read this book in about a day. I had a hard time putting it down. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. The characters are likable, a touch of romance, plot twist, and a magical world.
Second in series could be read alone but I would recommend reading in order. In this story it's cursed jewelry and doesn't have a really bad guy. Lots of twists and turns. leaves off with great lead in to next book. Very entertaining cozy mystery with a little romance and loads of quirky characters.

This had everything that I was hoping for and enjoyed about the first book. The overall story worked well with what I was expecting. The characters worked in this story and I was engaged with what happened to them. It left me wanting to read more in the Museum of Magical Artefacts series.

I enjoyed this story. Although the novel stands alone I was glad I read the first of the series. It gives an added layer of interest to the characters and parts of the plot. I recommend this fun series.
lol, I secretly hope that Ralph gets eaten or taken hostage by something scary. Book 2 was very interesting, well thought out and charming. Off to read book 3, I don’t believe in spoiler reviews. ~ Happy Reading.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It is a quirky mystery that ends happily for a long denied couple. I liked Annie but I'm not too sure about her strange boss Ralph.
Thanks to the author for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion. We met Annie, her family and colleagues in book 1 of this spin-off series of A. A. Albright's magical worlds. There is a short recap / summary early in this book but I urge you to read the books in order; this author crams every page with important detail, great imagery, romance, laughter and pathos, you don't want to miss a thing! This book brings another complex murder mystery to the museum, and unravelling the truth brings Annie several eye-opening reveals, about herself and her past. This fun story is clever and fast-paced, and already I'm counting the days to the next instalment!
