In a flash, the United States of America is sent back to the Stone Age. Three months without power has plunged the nation into chaos. Without technology, humanity is crumbling. Starvation spreads while brutal gangs rise, dominating in a savage fight for control.
The heartland of the country has gone dark after an EMP attack has neutralized the power grid. John Carver, a construction worker and prepper, must rescue his family from the city and seek shelter in their cabin off the grid. The only thing in the way of John’s family reunion is one hundred miles, and the entire metropolis of Cincinnati fighting to stay alive.

Though the story was very good all the way through and the characters well developed, it took a great deal of distracting effort to overlook the many missed words, misspelled words, missing words, duplicate words, and other anomalies that should have been caught when the book was edited -- if it was even edited at all.
This box set of 4 books Has a mixed Background for each story. They Seem to be A gentle introduction To what Can take place In a more rural setting. If anything they are missing Even Less populated areas Can be justice dangerous As densely populated areas.
This book describes a families determination to survive and protect one another as they struggle through a changed world. Plenty of ad action and adventure keep the story moving.
Everything I have read by James Hunt has been excellent! This boxed set not so much. The first story was great, excellent characters, suspenseful, resourceful and good ending. The second and third, not so much. 4th was much better. I enjoyed Hunt's story and the last story, but the other 2 could have been omitted. When I purchase a box set by Hunt, I expect the stories to all be written by him. I don't recall the description written in Amazon advising that this book was written by 4 different authors. I would give Hunt a 5 star rating, books 2 & 3 2 stars(being generous) and book/story 4, 4 stars.
