After being framed for the explosion that shook an entire nation, Kayla Morrow, Keith Wright, and Charlie Carter, have gone from strangers to confidants, able only to trust each other. Cornered from all angles, they make their way across the country, following up the only lead that they have available to them. But as they fight for answers and survival, people close to them are being pulled into the danger, and the three new friends may not be able to stick as close as they'd like.

Meanwhile, in DC, the new president finds himself drawn deeper and deeper into the organisation he's dedicated his life to, and finds that it may not be everything he thought it was. So far, they're not impressed by his performance. The president understands that his neck is on the line, and he's not prepared to lie down and take it.

Across the country, other players are making their way, trying to get to the bottom of what is happening, to stop what is coming. They don't realise it might already be too late.

Control of America hangs in the balance. Beyond that, the world.

This is a great series by one of my favorite authors. Sleeper Run by Paul Heatley is the second book in the First Sleeper series and I recommend that you don't wait to long between the books when reading them. The concept behind the series is great and it spares the reader from keeping many charaters and their names in their memory, Morrow is a good name to remember. I also can tell that don't get fooled again by the somewhat slow pace in the start of the book, it will most certainly increase it's pace. Heatley has created some great characters in this series and they are most definitely not the usual stereotypes that you find in so many books nowadays. It feels like I have been following this author for many years but he actually puts out a few book a year so it is never a long wiat for his next story. I can realy recommend this series.

Interesting Storyline

Story line was interesting however the writing seemed like that of an 8th grader, at times. Especially chapters 55 & 56. Short choppy sentences like an 8th grader would write or AI. There were a number of phraseology errors throughout. A good editing is suggested. If story was less interesting I would have given 2 stars

Five Stars

Wow, what a sequel. Non stop action with so many twists and turns. I am so looking forward to the next book in the series. So many stories running parallel to each other. A great piece of writing by Paul Heatley. I am never disappointed by this author. A well deserved 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Will draw you in and keep you turning the pages.

Just like the first book in the series, this one kept me way too late, I didn't want to put it down!
There are a few plot twists that will surprise you. The story line is 100% believable if you look at the current headlines.
Ok, now to start on book 3.

Warning: sequel coming

Great book, full of action. However, the ending is “Empire Strikes Back” - Like. Very dissatisfying, but ready for more. I can’t believe the ending, but also can’t wait for the next episode.

Well. I agree the two books told a good story. My disappointment comes in that it states 1 of 2 and then 2 of 2. About 100 pages from the end I realised that the story would not end here and there will be a sequel, well I hope there is. Should have said 1 of 3

These stories are exciting

Good characters that draw you into the story .. not the same old same old .. suspenseful.. good plotting.. a lot of characters to follow... but each one has their own personality ..

Enjoying the plot of this series, thought the writing wasn’t up to the usual standard of this author.
