Can a Georgia lawman save herfrom an unstoppable killer?
Stumbling upon a body in a wildlife habitat is far from routine for Georgia game warden Tisha Fletcher. The victim — a female hiker — is the third local woman found strangled to death. Assigned to lead the manhunt for a serial killer who leaves no physical evidence behind, GBI Special Agent Glenn McElligott enlists Tisha’s help. As the body count rises, Glenn can’t allow his feelings for the plucky widow to overshadow the emerging truth behind the murders. But he’ll need to act fast before Tisha becomes the monster’s final prey…

This writer’s style is just not for me. I only finished reading the book because I dislike stopping a book part way through. Even though I have already purchased the rest of the series (as they came with my Harlequin Intrigue subscription), I don’t think I’ll read them. The story itself is ok. The killer wasn’t obvious. The author provides meaningless details in descriptions that detract from the story. But it’s the word choices that bother me the most - Glenn looking for a woman who is “marriage material,” Tisha, a game warden, “batting her eyelashes”, the female sheriff was “anguished” at a crime scene. Icing on the cake - no mention of whether two dogs who had recently met would be ok outside unsupervised while they “went to the bedroom.”
I love how Barri writes. A serial killer that seems unstoppable.a FBI agent and. game warden and their dogs have to navigate thru every situation. Again it certainly wasn’t who I was expecting. Great read
The plot was pretty good and why I bought the book. I was disappointed in the implementation of the story. The book just didn't have much substance to it. The characters felt very flat. It was a disappointment.
