Grace Meyers is an author of beachy feel-good romances and women's contemporary fiction. She was born in the south, but has traveled a bit since then and now lives in a small coastal town.
Tess's husband Cameron had passed away over a year ago. Her son Alex was leaving for the Police Academy in 2 days, to follow in her husbands foot steps.
As Tess finally got around to starting to go through her husband things , she came across some paperwork that said Cameron owned a house on Bald Head Island in North Carolina.
She was shocked as she thought they had no secrets. She decided to go to North Carolina and see the house.
Where is this new series going to take us?
I received this ARC from Grace and am leaving my honest review.
The Whispers in the Wind series contained a good storyline but the writing was terrible. It was almost like it was undited. The thoughts, sentences and paragraphs were disjointed and sometimes jumped from one idea to another with no tie in. The "persons" in sentences were mixed up. Wrong words were used in some sentences and the overall punctuation was horrible. Some of Grace Meyers other books were much better edited than this one. If there was an Editor involved, they should be fired.
This is a new series that focuses on Tess who just retired from the Chicago Police Department and recently lost her husband. As Tess is adjusting to the changes in her life, she decides to go through her late husband’s things and finds he owns a home on an island off of North Carolina, which she knows nothing about. Tess decides to travel to North Carolina, what will she find? Read on to find out. Thank you for the ARC copy.
This intriguing mystery followed former detective Tess McCormick as she moved to a small North Carolina island and uncovered secrets surrounding her late husband while forming an unexpected connection with a grieving local man. The numerous editing errors distracted from an otherwise engaging and heartfelt story. However, the story blended romance, mystery, and small-town charm, making it an enjoyable read!

WHISPERS IN THE WIND IS THE FIRST BOOK OF IT'S OWN SERIES. IT IS WRITTEN BY GRACE MEYERS. THE BOOK IS A TRIBUTE TO SOLEMN NEIGHBORLY FRIENDSHIP. IT ENCAPSULATES PLANS TO RECIVILIZE WILD BRUSH AND ROCKS TO NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS. IT IS A GOOD READ AND A TREAT!
Potentially good read, filled with distracting errors
This book series has a storyline that has potential for a nice beach read, but the book is filled with distracting errors. Formatting, grammatical, you name it, this book has all these errors and more throughout. This final book in the series has the most errors and reads like a rough draft.
The beginning of this book has quite interesting with Tess trying to get over the loss of her husband and then finding out he a house in North Carolina. She decided to go there. James her neighbor had lost his family so he was having a hard time. It will be interesting to see how they get along.
Book 1: lots of typos, mistakes, poorly composed sentences. I acquired this series from kindle unlimited. It’s feels like a draft. Book 2: the mistakes continue … a mix-up of a character’s name (s) from the end of Book 1. Books 3-6: all of the careless mistakes continue.
These 5 books were ok, but once again all of them could have been 1 book. I am tired of having to purchase and read a bunch of books for one mediocre story
Another great series by Grace. Tess recently lost her husband and retired early from the police force. Their son is leaving for the police academy to follow in both of his parent's footsteps. As she cleans out some of her husband's things, she finds that he owns a home on Bald Head Island, NC. She is surprised as they didn't keep secrets from one another. She decides to go look at the house and loves the island. She meets the man next door and realizes she knows him. I received an advanced copy of this book, and I am looking forward to seeing what happens next!
This was a really good mystery & second chance love story with a lot of mysteries. The thing is when they finally found & had video proof that the mayor was the one that set fire to Tess’s house & destroying it, nothing was done about it. He also did a lot of other under handed things trying to get his hands on the jewelry which he eventually got & they had proof of. They also got on video of him admitting to burning the house down, after this the mayor just took off with the Jewelry & nothing was done to him. He wasn’t made to give it back or anything. They just let him goWith all of this behind them, Tess and Nick reveal their love for one another, Tess tells her son the truth about his dad. However I was a little disappointed that some questions were not answered. Some may not think them important, but I think they were very important. I think it ended a little too soon before some things were answered. But it is still a good series that I know you will enjoy.
I received this ARC book for free & I am giving my review for free & in my own words.
I really liked this story, but there are so many errors that took away from it. The editor in me made notes in the hopes that the author can go back and fix them.
Book one in the series has captured my attention. I cannot wait to see where Tess and Nick's story goes. What will be revealed about their past and can they both find healing from their personal losses together? Will Tess find out what made her late husband buy a beach house on the Coast of North Carolina without discussing it with her? What will this story reveal to us about Tess and Nick and will it end up in a happily ever after? I cannot wait to find out.
I received this book for free as an ARC and my review is my own!
Book 5 finds Nick and Tess dealing with the arrival of Tess’ son Alex. He takes a dislike to Nick and says he doesn’t want Nick around his mother. Nick lives so mother and son can spend time together. Tess convinces Alex to go to Chicago to see her in-laws hoping to get answers about a mysterious find. An unexpected accident find the three together again
Good addition to the series
Thank you to the author for this ARC. . This review is my honest opinion.
