“I am going to hurt you, but I’m always gonna put you back together."
When my train stops in the middle of nowhere, I'm suddenly caught in a nightmare.

Instead of going hiking in the mountains, I end up with a hood over my head, bound on hands and feet, and thrust into the trunk of a car.

A barren grey cell becomes my new home as I learn that I am to be trained by a terrifyingly competent man named Mikhail, who tells me he has two months to prepare me for my new master.

Slowly and inevitably, Mikhail breaks me into submission. But my hope never dies—the hope that the man he took me from will come find me. The man who awakened a dark desire within me that now blends with the depravities of my new reality. As my desires blur together, I come to doubt everything, even my sanity.

This is a pitch black short novel that can be read as a standalone. It has a lot of dark, extreme, and explicit content, so please see the trigger warnings on the author website before reading.

About the author

Ella Jacobs

12 books421 followers
Ella Jacobs writes dark and kinky romance. Her books all center around Dom/sub dynamics, ranging from BDSM relationships with light dub con to pitch-black captor/captive stories with Stockholm syndrome and heavy non con.

What all her stories have in common is the emotional depth that makes them feel very raw and real. They will pull at all your heartstrings, maybe gut you and shock you, and take you through the emotional wringer.

Ella lives in Northern Europe, where she has been part of the BDSM community for many years. She lives her own age-gap romance with a stern, loving Dominant, who is always ready for some character analysis and rarely gets jealous when she falls in love with her fictional men.

Besides writing, Ella loves to play music and travel.

Ella Jacobs has done it again…..Take Me is the kind of story that drags you in,kicking and screaming.
And making you wonder if there’s something wrong with you for loving it at the same time.
Because it’s dark, depraved and totally wrong…..but still you keep reading, feeling what Julie feels.
Needing what she so desperately needs…..the very same man that set off the chain of events to come and rescue her.
Wondering along with her that what if she hadn’t gone with Nikolai,a man she didn’t know,to explore her kinky side?
Would she have gotten on that train to have the vacation she’d planned?
Spending the rest of her life wondering what she was missing?
What did happen after he put her on that train,though…..it changed her life completely.
Being at the mercy of strangers, being forced to do what they wanted, surrendering completely, becoming what they wanted her to be……
And all that just because a mysterious client ordered it.

That journey was hard to watch, seeing her giving in to her trainer just to get a desperately needed hug/compliment,even if she knew it was given with a different intent than she really needed, hurt.
Her reasoning for giving in was so understandable, knowing it was wrong but still doing it for a little kindness.
Her surrender to Mikhail gave her a much needed peace of mind, and was the necessary step towards the life she’d be living.
Even if she still longed for Nikolai……

what in god’s name did i just read😵‍💫

don’t get me wrong i’m not new to cnc or “pitch black” dark romance but the whole sending the fml to a s*x trafficking ring to ”train” her to become a sub where she’s constantly and i mean constantly R worded

and the ml??
he isn’t even in most of the book🙄🙄
like we see in the first chap and then directly in the second last one!!!!

and i literally lost it when the fml “thanked” him for sending her there, LIKE WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL!!!!
“Thank you—for sending me to that dungeon,” I whisper, feeling the last remnants of the old me wither away and set me free.
I— NO WORDS🤧

Wow, this was definitely an experience. I was in the mood for something dark and Take Me definitely delivered. What made this book unique was the deep exploration of the MFCs emotional state as she gets abducted and trained to be something she isn't for some unknown man. But is it something she isn't? Is the man really a mystery? I did figure out who the man was quite early on. In a surprising twist, I was really captivated by the book up until the epilogue. Normally, I'd be annoyed by the lack of interactions between the MCs for most of the book, but it somehow worked here. I think I may even prefer Mikhail to the MC, though, to be fair, I didn't really get to know the MC all that well. This book certainly made me uncomfortable and pushed my boundaries, while still keeping me glued to the pages. It was definitely on the way to at least a 4 star read, but then the epilogue happened. Quite honestly, this probably has more to do with me than the content, but it just didn't work for me. I think I needed to see more of an emotional connection for me to buy into the MFC being truly cared for vs just used. I left this book feeling deeply uncomfortable and not because of the dynamics between the MCs but rather it just missing something vital to make that dynamic work for me. I truly think this may have been remedied by giving us more of a glimpse into the MC's relationship. Do they have one outside of their BDSM dynamic? I just needed more. Once again, this is a testament to Ella Jacob's writing that got me so invested that I subsequently felt let down. I will definitely try other books by this author, once I recover...

What the fuck was that ending??

I’m not into sharing, however even with the sharing I was going to give 4 stars because I understood the dynamics with Mikhail and Dax, but at the end, him sharing her with other males fucked me up (in the worst possible way).

I would’ve easily accepted a threesome or orgy with Mikhail and Dax, but Nikolai sharing her like a cheap whore was disgusting. Damn, I really hate that. And yet he still talks about protecting her, what a joke!!!

I don't get it why this book is labled as dark romance or whatsoever. This is straight raping, there is no consent, just really disturbing enslavement "story". How to destroy a human and sell it as her liberation. BDSM can get very dark, but it implies consent, otherwise it is a rape and violence. How can all this get romantisized is out of my grasp

This is a dark read, but in a way its more about the dramatics. A young woman, a bit lost in herself, meets a man in a bar. They share a week together, with her discovering exactly how much she enjoys certain kinks. The man, the perfect person to teach her all about her own desires, even those she doesn't realize she has. Despite her reluctance, they need to separate for a time, (him for business, her for a preplanned trip.) Not long after they separate from one another, does she get taken, and her world gets turned upside down. This story is not really about her surviving her captors and what they do to her. It's about her understanding herself. Her wants and needs. Yes, there is BDSM involved. Yes, it also involves trafficking. So yes, it's not pretty. What happens while in captivity might destroy most, but this woman has a strong need to understand herself, so she does what she needs to to survive, in hopes that eventually, man of her dreams can save her. This book has many content warnings, so please take heed. Including, but not limited to are non-con/dub-con (and body betrayal,) sensory deprivation, kidnapping, choking/asphyxiation. Obviously, this is intended for mature readers. The story is told from the woman's POV exclusively.

To all the girls who want their knight in
shining armor cloaked in black morals. There’s no romantic rescue here.

If you want to read a pitch black abduction, non con, degradation, Stockholm syndrome read, this is for you.
I’m not sure how I feel about this, because I couldn’t put the book away but it also made me very uncomfortable.
It’s very well written which made me feel all kinds of emotions. I think I even suffered from Stockholm syndrome at some point craving for a hug or some praise😅

It was my first read from Ella Jacobs and it won’t be my last.

It’s been a couple of hours since I finished reading and decided to change my 4⭐️to a 5⭐️ because it was actually a perfect read and I gave it initially 4 because I felt disturbed. But being able to do that is actually a good thing.

Take me 5⭐️

Such a dark and deep dive into subspace! I wanted to cry and scream! The characters were well written with such brutality and softness at times. I felt sorrow for the FMC and the captures are excellent at the job they were given!
It was a beautiful ending even if one part made me cringe. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!!

LMAOOO this book was so stupid. There’s really no other way to describe it. It has been quite a while since I’ve hated an fmc this much, but this girl managed to piss me off from page one until the very last page. There’s a huge fucking difference between being a submissive and being plain stupid, and I feel like she was one waaaay more than the other (stupid) :))))

I didn’t like a single character, literally none. I was either pissed at their stupidity or cringing at everything that they did or said. I like noncon with body betrayal (yea yea yea…) but this one was one of the worst I’ve ever read. I was expecting the story to be dark but it wasn’t, I was expecting to be shocked but I wasn’t, I was actually super bored and rolling my eyes HARD.

As readers, we already have to suspend disbelief a lot, but there are certain things that just… no. So here are a few things that the fmc did that pissed me off (I won’t bother with the mmc because dude appeared maybe twice in the whole book and he was just so icky ugh 🙄):

Reason number 1 - This girl told a guy that slid over the barstool next to hers in a bar that she was gonna go hiking all by herself. You know, I’m all for giving people the benefit of the doubt, but like… COME ON! Survival instincts are a wonderful thing and this girl had 0! This whole scene just made the fmc look reaaaaal dumb and it pissed me the fuck off. She even confirmed which woods she’d go to. You don’t tell a random man at a random bar that you’re gonna go hiking in the woods all by yourself, alright? Alright. He even said: “All alone in the woods, hoping the big bad wolf won’t come to get her.” 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Reason number 2 - She was on a train that stopped in the middle of nowhere when someone put a bag over her head. There were 2 guys, one was holding her down and the other tied her hands and feet. She was kind of freaking out, and one of the guys told her to breathe through her nose and out through her mouth and started breathing with her so she could regulate her breathing… and she did exactly that because of him… LIKE WHAT 🤡 WITH THE GUY WHO’S KIDNAPPING YOU???? LOL WHAT. Oh yea, lemme regulate my breathing with the guy who’s kidnapping me, he’s such a sweetheart. No biggie. Bro, I’d be yelling, I’d be doing EVERYTHING except regulating my fucking breathing with the same guy that caused said breathing to be dysregulated in the first place!!! WHAT!!! Am I going crazy because what-

Reason number 3 - “It’s the first, but not the last time I’m grateful for something my kidnapper grants me.” Girl, have some goddamn dignity. He told you to breathe and gave you some pillows after putting you in the trunk of a car and saying that the only bruises you could get were the ones they allowed. Ffs. It was not even Stockholm Syndrome yet because it hadn’t even been 5min since this girl had been kidnapped lol 🙄

Anyways, these are just a few of the many times she pissed me off. I removed all the other books in this series from my tbr when I was at around the 50% mark on this one lol

So yea, hated this book.

This is the second book I’ve read by Ella and I’m so in love w her writing style and I haven’t found another author who writes Stockholm so well. I loved this story. It was dark and fucked up and reading about subspace was really interesting. If you’re looking for a good Stockholm/captive/bdsm training book this is absolutely perfection.

Take Me is the kind of dark romance that grabs you from the first page and doesn't let go. Ella Jacobs pulls you into a world of obsession, power plays, and twisted emotions—and somehow still pulls you in.

This is a VERY dark romance. I definitely did not fall in love with the MMC. It was crazy how she actually wanted it in the end - but that's Stockholm syndrome for you!

THIS LITTLE BOOK IS INTENSE and yet I LOVEEEDDS IT. I couldn’t stop reading. This is my first read by Ella Jacobs and I need more. I don’t know what she put in this little book but I was addicted. I had a feeling who she was being trained for but when it was confirmed I wanted to know more. Is she his only one, are there others, or were there others before her.

"I am going to hurt you," he says bluntly as he breaks the kiss and slips his hand into my auburn hair, grabbing it close to the roots as if to prove his point. "But I'm always gonna put you back together like I did after I took your breath. Can you trust that?"

JULIE— she is a simple woman who just wanted some hot fun with the man she met at the bar before her trip. It had only been a week and yet she didn’t want it to end. He terrified her and yet made her feel safe. When she left for trip the unthinkable happened and everything turned upside down for her.

NIKOLAI— He sees her in a bar and he wants her. He feels in his soul she would be perfect to submit to his every need. He has big plans for her, his “Lisichka.”(little fox)

"You're mine. Mine to use, mine to hurt, and mine to torment. I'll take care of you too, but right now I want you to feel my power through and through. I'm your master, and you'll take whatever I give you, whenever I give it. Are we

This was another deliciously dark and depraved read by Jacobs.

Jacobs once again manages to create wildly problematic characters that just pull you in and hold you captive.

Please mind the warnings, and if you're good with those, I cannot recommend Jacobs' books enough!

“A pretty little Lisichka going into the woods all alone.”

I’ve never read a book that captures deep subspace quite like this one did. Knowing that Ella Jacobs not only did her research but lives as a sub with two older doms is very clear. The circumstances of Take Me are obviously pitch black. But the intricacies are handled so well.

“Submissive?” he asked softly. “What?” I all but gasped. “I think you are,” he said to himself. Tightening his grip on my wrist

When I tell you I had a conflicting time reading this book I mean that wholeheartedly.

“I’m supposed to train you, not break you. And I came very close to doing the breaking today.”

The only constant is that he always makes me beg for whatever degradation he forces upon me and always tells me when to come. His timing is perfect, always giving me the order just as I’m about to fall over the edge, and I get a feeling that he’s conditioning me.

“Such a rare thing.” Lifting his eyes to Mikhail, he says, “Lucky bastard to train this one.” Then his attention is back on me, studying me with something near reverence. It settles something deep within me, holding me in a trance—under his will.

But just like his comfort, this wistfulness is false. It’s Stockholm syndrome. Survival.

My notes range from “gasping.” To “PITCH BLACK PITCH BLACK PITCH BLACK”. Mainly the latter.
“Maybe we should train more women like this. Good money if we find the right buyer, I think.”
“I’ll definitely be up for it,” Dax says. “It gets tiresome with all the screaming sometimes. I swear, some days, I just want to cut all of their vocal cords.”

💀 Just incase the book wasn’t enough Ella serves us with a dog bowl in the epilogue. What the fuck E.J.

TW: Warning: No Hearts and Roses Ahead Dear reader This book is pitch black. It contains heavy degradation, extreme dark kinks, and consent is dubious at best—often nonexistent. If that’s not for you, please stop here.

Wow, what an experience. Ella’s writing is so amazing and well done that I could not only envision everything that happened but also feel all of Julie’s emotions throughout. And what a ride that was….its just a testament to how well Ella can portray a scene and the emotions behind it.

Now, as we get into the book it is definitely a dark no HEA happening here type of book. So, if you’re in the mood for that I would suggest this. With that being said, I did find that there wasn’t a whole lot of connection between Julie and the MMC. I felt like we got a glimpse of him in the beginning and then again at the end but I was left feeling like there wasn’t anything outside of their BDSM dynamic. And that may have been the point but it just didn’t turn out the way I was wanting or maybe needing it to.

The epilogue…oh the epilogue was the point where I questioned my own sanity and was almost triggered and didn’t want to finish it. However, I made it so far and just pushed through. Again, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with how it ended or with Ella’s writing I just think it wasn’t totally for me. I needed just a little bit more and a glimpse into the connection between Julie and Nikolai beyond their BDSM dynamic and I think it would’ve made it a little less uncomfortable for me.

If you love a dominant man that takes getting your trained very seriously then Nikolai is definitely your man because he takes it to the next level. Julie found herself casted in a spell, a very hot and spicy spell. Nikolai sees something in his little fox that has him very intrigued and he doesn’t stop at just that, he wants to break her only to put her back together in the end but he wants her very well trained so he gets the best of the best to do just that. The whole “training” process was insane and kept my eyes glued to the pages because I was so curious of each device or technique they used, my google search was ridiculous after this book. Julie is truly one of a kind and will do anything for her master and I mean ANYTHING, no limits that is for sure. I did love this story even the parts that left me with questions, overall I would definitely recommend but if you have triggers make sure to check them before diving in. I can’t wait to see who Dax is gifted with in the next book.

For starters, ensure you read the trigger warnings. It will make your brain juggle between what is right and acceptable, only to be thrown a blinder when you realise aspects of our FMC are not what you want for her 🤭 I’m not explaining this very well, which kinda means if you feel you can cope with this after reading the triggers and synopsis, you should 😈 not to be politically incorrect if you’re a staunch feminist maybe this is not the book for you 😱

Suffice to say this is heavily laced with S & M, with a sprinkling of t0rture; psychological and firsthand, kidnapping and captivity, degradation and humiliation, I could go on but hey, if this is not your grocery list leave it alone.

I read it in one sitting, cos ya’ know I’m a glutton for punishment 🤣🤣🤣⛓️🖤🪢 was some of it hard to read yep! Was some of it 🥵? Indeed. Did some of it make you want to find BOB? for sure. Did some of it make you want to get a big a$$ pew pew and go in blazing? again yes! Do we love Nikolai? Do we adore Mikhail? Or are we anchoring after Dax? I won’t mention Dorin 🥶The conclusion you should make here is if a book has all this emotion then I’m sold 🧎🏼‍♀️

I was so excited for the series to happen. CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS…..Take me is book one of three in this we follow Julie she meets a man and takes him back to her room, and they spend a few amazing days in the sheets. Nikolai is rich, controlling and highly into BDSM. Julie decide she wants to explore some kinks. They decide to meet up after she gets back from hiking and he gets back from his business trip. Once Julie is on the train. She is kidnapped taken to a massive mansion hidden deep in the woods and undergoes a month long training for her new master. Once the month is up, she finds out Nikolai had planned it all out and paid a very large sum to have her trained to his liking. Julie has literally been reprogrammed and can’t function without his control or his say.

This story is not for the faint of heart.
If your vibe is a nice, cozy read with a “touch her and 💀” or a fuzzy romance, this is not for you, BUT if you want something raw, emotional, and honest, then you’ve found it. PLEASE check the TW list prior to reading, this story is in a lot of ways dark and could be triggering.
That being said, the story is captivating, heart wrenching and sometimes left my stomach turning, but it’s not one I will quickly forget. Ella Jacobs definitely did a wonderful job of capturing my attention and holding it hostage (pun intended).
This is not my typical read, but it was well worth the read in my opinion.

This book sent me on a whirlwind of emotions. The story line is pitch black, it’s the darkest I’ve read yet and I am living for it.

I honestly put the book down a few times because I needed to catch my breath. This is the first book of the series and I am hooked. Ella Jacobs delivers on the Don/ Sub dynamic so well and plays on the dark and depraved inner most thoughts, and has me questioning my sanity. Please check the TWs before reading, it’s darker than most would probably think, but I cannot wait for the next book.

If there’s one thing Ella does, it’s give some of the darkest books! Never walk into one of her books blindly ALWAYS check trigger warnings! And this book was no exception!

The manipulation, the depravity, the reality of it all kinda slaps you in the face. Now I need to go find my a fluffy read to detox myself after this read 😅

I’m very on the fence about this book. I called how it was going to end about 3 chapters in. It’s well written and good, but idk it just didn’t mesh well with me. I would say it’s probably a 2.5, but it wasn’t quite a 3.

If you’re into D/S dynamics with extreme degradation, you’d probably like it, but I just didn’t.

With anything, be sure to read the triggers. Definitely recommend this to readers who love the captive/ captor trope or those who love particular k!nks.
