"Der Geist mit der Maske" ist der 6. Band der "Charmed" Buchreihe.

Was mir gut gefällt:
Wie immer ist die Geschichte sehr unterhaltsam. Bisher gefällt mir die Umsetzung der TV-Serie als Buch wirklich gut.

Was mir nicht so gut gefällt:
Ehrlich gesagt habe ich nichts zu kritisieren. Das Buch passt richtig gut zum Oktober.

Von mir gibt es daher 5 Sterne und eine Leseempfehlung. Charmed Fans, die eine Halloweengeschichte suchen, sollten unbedingt einen Blick auf dieses Buch werfen. Leider gibt es die Bücher nur noch gebraucht zu kaufen.

Not as enjoyable as the other ‘Charmed’ novelisation I’ve read (which adapts the first episode), but this was still an entertaining quick read. Two of the sister fall for the same guy (naturally he’s a wrong ‘un) whilst the third investigates a historic murder at a university which has left some ghosts behind. All very silly, but diverting enough.

I was hesitant while reading this book. I loved the series, and I constantly watch old episodes. These books have been pretty good so far, but the book before wasn't as amazing as the other books. However this one knocked the rest out of the park.

Cameron Dokey got the characters down to a tee. The first two chapters took me a while but after that, I felt like I was watching another Charmed episode.

It was full of action, magic and excitement. I was excited to find a perfect page-turner.

I was engrossed to the max. Phoebe was central character through most of it, and as she is my favourite Charmed sister, it could be the reason I enjoyed this book.

Some scenes were a little too quick, and should have been drawn out more, including banishing the ghost from the Halliwell home the first time round, it was too quick and immediate.

The fighting between Prue and Piper was interesting. Again I couldn't believe they didn't cotton-on. However what was more surprising was that the warlock did not mention Phoebe as one of the charmed ones when he was our narrator. He never mentioned the Power of Three. So I had a feeling he thought there was only two charmed ones... If that was the case, this wasn't identified within the book, which should've been as it would have shown how dumb the warlock was.

I loved the ghost part of the book, it was a mystery, and I was trying to work out who the murderer was. The ending rounded out as a total surprise, and I wasn't expecting it.

Overall, this is definitely one of the better books from this series.

I am slightly annoyed by the idea that you fight over a guy without knowing what he wants. Sure the warlock in this case doesn't deserve an opinion but it is enough what people do in real life.

So the cover this time didn't really point one sister in front which made them all the victim according to my theory and it was true. Let's see if it remains true.

Tie-in novel number six set during Season 2 of Charmed. Even if they aren't canon novels, you can place it in the second season because Piper has P3, Prue is still working at Buckland's and Phoebe is back at college.

The back of the book, which is what intrigued me to read this one if the first place, is very misleading to what happens inside. It makes it seem like Phoebe is seeing a guy named Brett and he has a jealous ex named Wendy who may not may not be threatening her.

In truth, Phoebe has no interest in Brett. She is going to do an assignment for extra credit but Brett glomps on to be Phoebe's partner in a move to hit on her and make Wendy jealous.

Phoebe is taking her school work seriously and despite being cute, Brett isn't a very nice guy.

That is the A-plot of Phoebe wanting to do research on the latest San Francisco urban legend being taught in her class. Back in 1958, two college girls were murdered at a Halloween dance where the suspect was a scholarship student from the wrong side of the tracks, who was dating one of the girls at the time.

He was gunned down by police because the police chief was his girlfriend's uncle.

The story rattles an older woman taking the class alongside Phoebe named Marjorie so in trying to comfort her, Phoebe's hand touches the woman's shoulder. She sees a vision of black crepe paper and Halloween decorations and then a girl getting stabbed, vague as possible, but fitting with the professor's description of events.

Phoebe wants to see if she can clear the young man's name because why would she get a vision if not meant to help?

The notes may be from someone not wanting Phoebe to look into the truth...

Where do Prue and Piper fit in this story?

Usually, it would be The Power of Three and The Charmed Ones on the case but that is where...the B plot comes in.

Prue ends up falling for a guy she meets at an auction of Buckland's and he asks her out for a weekend date. Piper hires a band to play at P3 and the leader of the band happens to be the same guy Prue met that morning but Piper has been talking to him on the phone for some time about his performance.

The guy by the way is named Dylan Thomas saying it was his mother's idea after honeymooning in Wales and then he arrived nine months later after the stay in the poet's birthplace.

That fact and dating two sisters at the same time isn't the only reason he is bad news...he's a warlock. He has no interest in Phoebe but the two older and more powerful sisters as a way to get all of The Charmed Ones' powers as a collective.

Using potions and a good old case of sibling rivalry, these two grown women start acting like jealous teens toward each other over this one guy. When Phoebe needs their help to call on ghosts to try and solve the murders, Prue and Piper are too caught up in Dylan's spell and only think of themselves.

So Phoebe tries doing this on her own and starts to feel the chill of calling a ghost to the mortal plane from the afterlife of being horrifically murdered...not good.

When Phoebe starts seeing one of the ghosts of the girls walking around in her 1950s pink dress covered in bright red blood and another ghost in a wolf mask with a large knife...she can't get either one of her sisters to help.

I like that this book puts Phoebe front and center as it was always established that she was the black sheep of her family, being too immature and having no direction. Here she is trying her hardest at school, wanting to solve a murder and put restless spirits at peace, yet she also has to be the mature one buffering her sisters' magically inflicted bitchiness.

The youngest Halliwell isn't having it...

I usually like Piper but I wasn't very fond of having her act the way she did, spell or no spell. It got better when Piper realized the truth of what was going on and started acting like herself again but that's all I will say on that...

This could be one of the reasons Prue seemed unlikeable because she actively used her own powers against her sisters! It wouldn't be the first time evil influenced that but using your telekinetic powers to knock your sisters down...not cool, Prue!

Even when the B plot got resolved, it was nice to have the two elder Halliwell sisters still be in the background and let Phoebe unravel the mystery. That led to a few really good twists and a very beautiful ending.

Haunted by Desire had its strong points and its weak points but provided what could have been a decent Charmed episode. Following after Voodoo Moon, it was a pretty good book as well. Not exactly a breather episode considering violent murders but if cat fights between the sisters are your guilty pleasure or having Phoebe be the one in the limelight...this is for you.

A MUST read! I couldn't put it down. *****CONTAINS SPOILERS*****

Phoebe has enrolled in college to study myths and legends which she is loving and determined to pass.

Prue and Piper have two separate interactions with the same man and start to fall madly in love with him; they are completely obsessed and when they discover that they are falling in love with the same man they will stop at nothing to ensure they other sister does not have a chance.

While all this is going on Phoebe is dealing with her own man and ghost trouble and desperately needs the help of her sisters. Phoebe is assigned an extra credit assignment to research the famous murders which took place on the campus. In order to solve this Phoebe summons the ghosts of the students who were murdered in order to help solve the mystery and also to see if she can clear an innocents name and get a good grade on her extra credit assignment.

All is not as it seems to be. The wrong student was framed for a murder of his girlfriend and her best friend which he did not commit but was murdered himself by the police. Phoebe gets to the bottom of the mystery and is surprised to learn that the victim is still alive all these years later and to learn that the victims best friend killed her out of jealously and framed her boyfriend.

2023 is my year of reading TV tie-ins. It started with Buffy, Angel, Roswell, Dark Angel and now Charmed…

I always had mixed feelings on Charmed as a show (though around season 5-6 it is less mixed and more outright abhorrence), so I am not sure why I felt so compelled to buy this.

But I did and I did enjoy it. It was quite a fun Halloween murder story and without Alyssa Milano Phoebe was a much more tolerable character, so it was ok that she was main focus.

The Prue and Piper are bewitched by a warlock and fight over him was… ok. I didn’t understand why he never went after Phoebe and the solution to it all was a bit underwhelming. It wasn’t bad though, and it did give me the feeling of a real episode.

So yeah, this was fun, I could imagine reading more of these.

The story was overall ok. I didn’t care for Prue and Piper’s storyline. It wasn’t that entertaining. Phoebe’s storyline was great! I enjoyed it tremendously! The whole book probably could’ve just focused on her story and it could’ve been expanded more maybe. It fulfilled the plot of solving the mystery for the truth, but I think more could’ve been added.

This....was really bad.
Absolutely the worst in the series thus far.
Phoebe’s story line was definitely the most interesting, but it was like she didn’t even care about the murders; she only cared about her extra credit which really bothered me. And the whole Piper/Prue/Dylan thing was excruciating to read. The girls behaved like they were 4 year olds and I just couldn’t. It was so bad!! 😭

I enjoyed following Phoebe as she worked to solve the Halloween Murders at her college. Summoning ghost and reliving that night, finally finding out the the truth behind the murders and setting innocent souls free. Loved it.
Didn't much care for Prue and Piper fighting over a guy, who turned out to be a warlock though. Easily vanquished but lame storyline.

The best one so far, for me. Out of the eight books I've read from this series, this one stands out by introducing a crime in 1958 that needs solving before it repeats itself and raising the difficulty of such an investigation by bewitching the sisters. It also sets around halloween, so i recommend reading it around that time to increase the spooky feeling of this novel.

Fun and easy witchy read! If you're familiar with the TV series it doesn't require too much setup or character development so it's easy to just jump right in!

I'd almost say if you aren't a fan of the show, maybe skip this read. It really requires you to know the base of the characters and the Charmed universe to be able to enjoy it.

I didn’t care for this one. Phoebe’s storyline was good until the ending, but Prue and Piper’s combined storylines were just annoying.

Might also be that I kept reading it in fits and starts. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I really liked it. The plot was well written through all the book. I thought myself as watching one of the good old episodes from before The Source took over the series plot. Like season 2, when Phoebe decided to go back to college and Piper opened the P3. Fun, easy to read, quite enjoyable.

Haunted by Desire, which for years I thought was Desirê instead of Desire, is the sixth book in the series based off the show. I gave this book a four star because Piper and Prue drove me nuts through most of the book and I wanted to smack both of them. Phoebe's mission in this book I loved. She had to solve a murder mystery and most of the way she was on her own.

The sisters had me worried for a while that is for sure, but Cameron Dokey did a great job. I love the back of this books incantation. I had remembered it from high school when I had first read this, but forgot about the book. Anger, Envy, Wrath & Rage. Hold her tightly like a cage. With bitter tears and lovers sin. My finale revenge at last begins!

Phoebe is taking a college class Legends & Folklore: Uncovering Supernatural San Francisco. It is Halloween in this book so for extra-credit Phoebe takes on the project of the Halloween Murders. Three peopled died on Halloween night in 1958. She along with Brett work on the project trying to uncover what really happened back then. She has one small problem besides the larger problem. The problem is Brett's ex Wendy is obsessed and very possessive of Brett. Jealousy is a big thing in this book.

Phoebe needs her sisters help, but thanks to Dylan Thomas, a guy who has a band, and he's a warlock as well, Prue and Piper are no help. They are at each others throats most of the book. It is not till the very end that they see the truth about Dylan.

Dylan had used a potion on the two older Halliwell's. He wanted to take their powers by driving them apart. I knew he was bad news even before it was revealed. Sometimes I just got a knack for these things. This story line took up way too much in the book I thought.

Phoebe summons a ghost of the dead students, but things go horribly wrong. Betty and Ronald were in love, but someone didn't want them happy, non of their family or friends approved of their relationships. Ronald was blamed for Charlotte & Betty's death and was ordered to be killed by Betty's dad when he was seen back then.

I was shocked about who Marjorie Yarnell turned out to be. I won't tell you, but defiantly give this book a chance. It won't disappoint. I was just glad the book ended with a happy ever after.

This book is a really great book. If you first read it you can stop in till you finish it. I honestly loved this book. It was mystery book. Well if you have ever seen the show "CHARMED" then you would know how very thing is. I aslo LOVE the shows too.
It is about three witches, good ones though, who fight evil. The oldest is Prue, The miiddle child is Piper, and the youngest is Phobe. Each one in this book had there own problem. Phobe was trying to solve a mystery for extra credit in her collage class. Prue and Piper fall in love with the same guy , but in different places and times. There was a big fight there!:))
Well lets start with Prue and piper about the whole falling in love with the same guy. First Prue meets the guy at a lottery event. Then he asked her on a date to his band concert and of course she said yes. Then that afternoon he goes to P3 the club piper owns and the same club that guy was going to play at. So like I said he went to the club and talked to piper and then she fell in love with. How werid two sisters falling in love with the same guy on the same day, but did they know he was a warlock.
Now about, Phobe and her extra credit. She volenters to do the extra credit , but then someone else does to. So then she gets pair up with Brett Wier. Who has a exteremly jelous EX-girlfriend. Then there was trouble there. So to solve the mystery Phobe cast a spell to bring back one of the ghoust. Then she thought it didn't work and left . when she arrive at her car there was a note that said....

Well i guess you will just hae to read the book....!!!!!!

Book 1.

So I found this book in a classroom, and I decided to read it for my 100 book challenge, since you know, it's quick.
Well, as I expected the book was SUPER stupid. I swear I read the phrase IT'S TIME TO PAY THE PRICE like 8 times.

I've never been interested in Charmed, but I do know that Prue and Dylan end up together. And they even have a baby. But there was some drama and he got banished or something.

But in this book, he's TOTALLY devious and is out to kill the sisters. Maybe that's what goes on in the show, but I still wasn't happy.

The short and short. Don't read this book.
It was only like 150 pages long, and I struggled to finish it.
