I really enjoyed the Kane’s protective nature and the safe environment he created. Haylee couldn’t even take a step without him reminding her to be careful and then still watching her like a hawk so he could save if she fell.
Not sure how I feel about the age play. I love me some Daddy but the complete infantilization of the fmc makes me feel a little uncertain *side eye* The pacifier, bottle feeding and nursery was a bit of a stretch especially because I didn’t think it was needed 🍼 the Daddy vibes were there from the start without the need for age play.
Also how is every single man in this story a Daddy Dom?! There’s like 20 of them…

More plot than smut. There is only one actual sex scene.
What I didn't like was that the FMC wasn't given an actual count of the spankings she would be receiving. The MMC always stopped after she began crying. And I found it weird that he couldn't cook. At the end of the book he lets her cook, but does not allow her to use sharp knives or the oven. So she is basically forbidden from cooking on her own and will just observe the cooking food? That might just be the common theme that I don't like in dd/lg books. I think that there should be at least one activity that the lg can finish on her own and feel productive about since they aren't in that headspace all the time. And if she can cook why are you feeding her burnt bacon, takeout, sandwiches and protein shakes if that is not a healthy full diet and you are the provider? Start learning how to cook before providing food that is low in nutritional value.

This is the first I have read from this author.
I enjoyed it very much.
Haylee and Kane were perfectly matched as Daddy and Little Girl.
The evil in this book could have been given more pain in my opinion but I am glad the author stayed more with Haylee's recovery.

Hero Daddy
Enjoyed this story. Kane was a teddy bear and his and Haylee's chemistry was crackling. The storyline around the abusive ex was sad and dangerous but added a good back story. A great read.

Beautiful Read
This story is heartwarming. You absolutely fall for Kane. Haylee is an absolute enjoyable character. Seeing Luke and Ally again made me happy. Their journey together is memorable. The writing and flow of this book is perfect. I absolutely recommend this book.

Elle ne savait pas vraiment pourquoi elle avait continué à accepter ses excuses. La seule réponse, se dit-elle, était qu'elle l'aimait et que c'était probablement sa faute s'il agissait ainsi. Elle a fait des excuses pour son comportement à plusieurs reprises. Mais au fil du temps, il la frappait de plus en plus souvent. Habituellement, il suffit de la gifler et de la bousculer. Il n'a jamais laissé d'ecchymoses visibles sur son visage, donc pour le reste du monde, ils étaient l'heureux couple, profondément amoureux. Les ecchymoses sur ses bras, des fois où il l'a attrapée ou poussée, ont été cachées sous des chemises à manches longues et des pulls, ce qui a suscité des plaintes de sa part selon lesquelles elle s'habillait comme une vieille dame mal fagotée.
Passant une main tremblante sur son visage pour essuyer les larmes qui coulaient sur sa joue, Haylee se dit que tout irait bien. Elle avait juste besoin d'aller chez Tim pendant qu'il était encore au travail, d'emballer le peu de choses qu'elle possédait et de partir avant qu'il ne rentre à la maison. Elle hocha la tête en silence, essayant de respirer. La circulation est devenue floue alors que les larmes coulaient sur son visage.
« Je devais sortir de là, Ally. Je ne sais pas où je vais aller !
"Ce qui s'est passé?"
Un autre sanglot lui a échappé avant qu'elle ne parle : « Il m'a battue. Vraiment mauvais cette fois.
Ally haleta bruyamment au téléphone, puis tout se tut.
Une voix d'homme parla : « Haylee, chérie, c'est Luke. Mon ami Kane est là aussi. Tu viens ici et on s'occupera de toi. Il ne te fera plus jamais de mal.

Elle hocha la tête en silence, cherchant un endroit où s'arrêter. Dès qu'elle eut garé la voiture, elle regarda dans le rétroviseur pour s'assurer qu'il ne l'avait pas suivie et aperçut son reflet dans le miroir. Sa joue avait une ecchymose sombre et avait déjà enflé, et du sang avait coulé sur le côté de sa tête où il avait été cogné contre le mur. Elle pâlit, sentant la nausée monter à nouveau.
« Je… euh… je me suis arrêté… merde… je saigne.
« Haylee, où saignez-vous ? »
Sa main trembla en touchant le sang.
« Ma… ma tête. Il… euh… il l'a claqué contre le mur.
"D'accord, chérie, si tu as quelque chose que tu peux utiliser pour faire pression sur ta blessure à la tête afin qu'elle ne continue pas à saigner."
Fouillant dans sa boîte à gants, elle trouva des mouchoirs et appliqua une pression. Elle siffla de douleur.
"Je suis tellement désolée de vous déranger les gars," renifla-t-elle.
« Haylee, tu ne nous déranges pas. C'est mon travail de vous protéger, même si vous n'êtes pas dans ma ville. Maintenant, dis-moi où tu es, dit fermement Luke.
Elle regarda autour d'elle, réalisant qu'elle avait conduit pendant au moins une heure avant de se calmer suffisamment pour passer l'appel.
« Je… je suis à une heure de San Bernardino. J'avais l'intention de conduire jusqu'en Oregon après mon départ… J'avais l'intention de rentrer à la maison.
Elle pouvait entendre Ally pleurer en arrière-plan, la faisant recommencer à pleurer.
« Je suis désolée de ne pas te l'avoir dit plus tôt, Ally, murmura-t-elle.

Je vais appeler un hôtel et te réserver une chambre entre là-bas et ici. Tu ne peux pas conduire toute la nuit. Je demanderai à Ally de vous envoyer l'adresse de l'hôtel par SMS une fois que je l'aurai réservé. J'ai besoin que tu te calmes avant de recommencer à conduire. Avez-vous de l'argent pour l'essence ?

"Merde! Je n'ai rien. Je n'ai pas pu sortir mes affaires de la maison. Mon sac à main est toujours là. Je n'ai que mes clés et mon téléphone. Je n'ai pas d'argent du tout ! gémit-elle alors que sa respiration devenait rapide et lourde.
« Calme-toi, chérie. Haleine. Dedans et dehors. Lentement. C'est ça. Bonne fille. Regardez votre jauge à essence, combien d'essence avez-vous ?" demanda Luc.
Elle regarda et sentit la nausée monter à nouveau, "Seulement environ un quart d'un réservoir."
Kane jura en arrière-plan.
"D'accord, j'ai besoin que vous téléchargiez l'application Money et que vous créiez un compte très rapidement. Je vais t'envoyer de l'argent et tu pourras l'utiliser à la station-service pour payer l'essence », a déclaré Luke.
Fermant les yeux, elle comprit que c'était une mauvaise idée. Elle ne pouvait pas accepter d'argent du petit ami de sa meilleure amie.
"Maintenant, Haylee," dit sévèrement Kane.
Son corps tremblait légèrement mais la voix dominante de Kane n'était pas quelque chose qui pouvait simplement être ignoré.
"J'ai déjà l'application, mais je ne peux pas accepter d'argent de votre part."
"Jeune dame, je ne demande rien. Quel est le nom de votre compte ?" demanda Luke, son ton devenant aussi sévère que celui de Kane.
Prenant une profonde inspiration, elle réalisa qu'elle allait devoir accepter de l'aide. Elle s'est juré de les rembourser dès qu'elle le pourrait. Elle lui a donné les informations de son compte.
"Bonne fille. Je vous transfère de l'argent en ce moment.
"Merci," murmura-t-elle.
"De rien chéri. Pensez-vous que vous êtes assez calme pour recommencer à conduire ? » Le ton doux de Luke était de retour.

"Je pense que oui."
"D'accord. Je vais travailler pour te trouver un hôtel où passer la nuit. Ally enverra les détails. Assurez-vous de conduire prudemment, portez votre ceinture de sécurité et si vous vous énervez ou commencez à pleurer, arrêtez-vous jusqu'à ce que vous vous calmiez. Vous devez tenir Ally au courant de ce que vous faites et de l'endroit où vous vous trouvez chaque fois que vous faites un arrêt afin que nous sachions que vous allez bien. Compris?"
Elle hocha la tête, "O...Oui..."
"Je t'aime, Haylee. Ça va aller bien. Da…. Luke s'assurera que tout va bien », a déclaré Ally d'une petite voix.

"D'accord, j'ai besoin que vous téléchargiez l'application Money et que vous créiez un compte très rapidement. Je vais t'envoyer de l'argent et tu pourras l'utiliser à la station-service pour payer l'essence », a déclaré Luke.
Fermant les yeux, elle comprit que c'était une mauvaise idée. Elle ne pouvait pas accepter d'argent du petit ami de sa meilleure amie.
"Maintenant, Haylee," dit sévèrement Kane.

Prenant une profonde inspiration, elle réalisa qu'elle allait devoir accepter de l'aide. Elle s'est juré de les rembourser dès qu'elle le pourrait. Elle lui a donné les informations de son compte.
"Bonne fille. Je vous transfère de l'argent en ce moment.
"Merci," murmura-t-elle.
"De rien chéri. Pensez-vous que vous êtes assez calme pour recommencer à conduire ? » Le ton doux de Luke était de retour.
Son corps tremblait encore, mais ses larmes avaient séché et sa respiration s'était ralentie. Sa tête battait mais cela ne partirait probablement pas de si tôt.
"Je pense que oui."
"D'accord. Je vais travailler pour te trouver un hôtel où passer la nuit. Ally enverra les détails. Assurez-vous de conduire prudemment, portez votre ceinture de sécurité et si vous vous énervez ou commencez à pleurer, arrêtez-vous jusqu'à ce que vous vous calmiez. Vous devez tenir Ally au courant de ce que vous faites et de l'endroit où vous vous trouvez chaque fois que vous faites un arrêt afin que nous sachions que vous allez bien. Compris?"
Elle hocha la tête, "O...Oui..."

1.5* Beginning was okay, then it just drags on and on.
I had high hopes for this book, as the plot sounded really good. Haylee is in an abusive relationship, that she needs help to escape from. When she phones Ally from her home town, Luke and his friend Keith make a plan to help her get back home. It was quite exciting at this point. Kane is brilliant at first, thinking of everything, to help Haylee so she can recover and stay safe. So what happened?
After a long day of travelling together and Kane doing things to help Haylee, as she’s injured, Haylee will be staying in an apartment above his garage. When they get to Kane’s house, Kane basically dumps Haylee in the apartment and leaves her on her own. A woman who is terrified of her ex and has been so manipulated by him that she’s convinced that she’s stupid, and worthless. He drops her off and leaves her on her own!!! 😱😱😱 Yes he does give her meals, but the rest of the time she’s on her own. What a stupid thing to do. 🤬🤬
Then the next huge chunk of the book, is about her insecurities and why she’s not good enough for him, he’s thinking that she’s not a little, she is, and she won’t want him. The endless thoughts from both of them ruin the book!!! It goes on and on and on. Even when they’re sat together they don’t really communicate, just sit there thinking. Oh good grief.
Then there’s the danger that yet again, doesn’t come to anything! It’s over so quick that blink and you’ll miss it.
And also yet again, how old are Kane and Haylee?

excellent, not perfect but excellent.
I would say 95%. It sucks you in during the first chapter. I love the fact that they did have the safe word talk and limits talk that so many others do not. I believe it should have happened way sooner like before daddy even acted like a daddy. And then he promised not to bruise and the spanking with a paddle after a hand would have left bruises, and the fact that it was a thin paddle it would have left welts and since the skin was already injured from his hand it most likely would have broken skin. If that wasn’t against her limits I would have said cool. But it was and he didn’t follow it. Also she at that point should have used her safe word for him going against her limits list. And there should have been a point where she noticed after and talked to him. He also should have allowed her to be an adult when she wanted to be. But some how books where the littles are female or the dom is a mommy. Lots of the safety protocols, and limits go out the window so on that point I was disappointed. Also just once I would like to see safe words used, and when the sub and dom talk that the sub puts a limit on things the doms wants and the dom choose to change instead of the sub always ending up just learning to love whatever they didn’t want.

Haylee needs to get away from her abusive boyfriend and has a plan to pack while he is at work and leave before he gets home but it all went wrong. She cannot accept help from the frightening and bossy man her friends sent to help her but maybe Kane is her knight in shining armour. Kane really wanted to be her protector and guard her with his life, but would she embrace the Little side of herself and also let him be her Daddy?
I enjoyed the story with the fierce need to protect her as well as the need to be her Daddy. Super Sweet
I love that Kate Oliver writes about strong strict Daddy’s who are super sweet and caring and that they recognise women who are Littles but not fully in that role yet so the males help them find their little side.
Kane and Haylee are a brilliant couple. Haylee has been through some real trauma and it calls to Kanes Daddy side. The way he protects and cares for her putting her needs first is super sweet although in typical male fashion communication isn’t always perfect.
These books although contain some sex scenes are focussed much more on the caregiver side of a Daddy/Little relationship

What a delightful story! You can’t help but love Kane & Haylee! Two people destined for each other. Haylee is trying to get out of a disastrous relationship and meets Kane, a definite Daddy Dom! He is instantly enamored with her and will do anything to make her his Little. I loved the interactions between these two. He is so kind and caring and she is so sweet and sassy. They are a perfect match! Outside trouble threatens Haylee and Kane will do everything he can to protect her. These two made me laugh and cry and I fell in love with both of them. Such a wonderful story!!

Kane is a strong strict Daddy who is a teddy underneath, so sweet and caring and Haylee is escaping an abusive relationship and doesn't recognise herself as a Little at first.
I really enjoyed the story which had lots of plot rather than just sex scenes. Don't get me wrong, I love a good smutfest but it's good to sometimes see the caring side too.
I liked how Kane was a bit more "real", not being able to cook for example. I get a bit bored of daddies who are superhuman.
Overall, a good, enjoyable read.

a real hero
It’s good when a hero has a team of heroes.
She did a good job with this story of abuse and rescue and tension and fear and love.
However… and this may be a spoiler….
It really bugged me that two grown women, whatever head space they were in, thought it was a good idea to go “help” a highly trained, well equipped group of experts, because they were worried. Especially when at least one Daddy specifically said he would be distracted if she wasn’t safe elsewhere.

I really enjoyed this book. Haylee escapes from a bad situation (she endured terrible abuse) but she ends up meeting Kane who takes her under his wing. Kane is wonderful to her and I enjoyed seeing their love story play out. They share a special dynamic that was well written. I also enjoyed the parts with her best friend, they were cute together. The plot was good with some danger elements and action.

With the dark topic covered I thought it would be more my speed, but honestly, just too light and fluffy for me, especially with such a dark situation. Also, too much telling. The characters were delightful enough and honestly, I really liked a couple of the side characters. But... You can't have the darkness this fluffy, I just can't suspend belief enough for that.

I almost couldn’t finish. Not because of the story or mechanics of it, but because of the amount of trauma Haylee has gone through. It hit a little close to home. Of course, not everyone has a big, bad, alligator-wrestling Daddy like Kane to help them through it. In a way, this book was therapeutic for me, too.
I love Ally and Haylee together. They truly are thr most adorable best friends ever.

Meeting Haylee!
Beautifully written Daddy and his Little story after hearing on the mobile phone that Haylee was driving to her best friend after her boyfriend beat her up. The hero in this story starts to drive to meet the girl while organising a hotel room for her to stop driving in such a state of despair.

This is a very good, well written, DD/lg romance. Haylee does not know she is a little but does know she needs to get out of her current situation. If you are sensitive, this may not be the book for you. The characters and situation are believable and well described. Read and enjoy.

I loved Haylee and Kane's story. He helps her get away from an abusive relationship and little by little, shows her what a real Daddy looks like. Cute and funny but there might be some triggers so preceed with caution. I also loved seeing the previous couple. Now, on to the next book in this series!

Hailey was Allie’s friend from childhood. When Hailey called Allie and was crying, Luke, Allie’s Daddy went into protective mode.

Listening to the phone call was all it took for Kane to volunteer to go and get Hailey.

Love Kane the Alligator wrestler!
I got a sticker and bookmark from Kate a while back. i had no idea what baby alligator meant, but now I do! This is such an awesome book! I totally need a Virgil! Haylee takes you through every emotion possible and back again. Kane is exactly what she needs. Such a great story!

This series is good, but not the same level as her other related series. The storylines are good, it’s just the writing seems a bit more stilted and jerky. Short sentences and a lot of meaningless details. I still enjoyed reading this and will continue with the series, but I can’t give it 5 stars.

It's called procrastination, ever heard of it? Anyway this one wasn't as good. It was so cringe and SO over the top for a DV situation in my opinion. Not saying he should go free but the AMOUNT of men going after him and the ENERGY they were putting into it wasn't it chief. Also that's not how it would happen. Like. At all. Those aren't the legal steps to take. My job has ruined me.
