Simon Preston loved his life. Between his job as a highly paid architect and his lover, Chad Murphy, things couldn’t be better. And since adopting the precocious little girl who was the love of their lives, he was ready to take the next step - marriage. After a grueling day at work, Simon decided to surprise his melded family with a homemade dinner and a selection of the finest Disney movies available. He also had another surprise in mind. Gay marriages were legalized in the state of New York and even though their relationship wasn’t perfect, Simon knew it was time to make it official. The feast prepared, he waited. And waited.

When the call came, Simon's life was immediately shattered. In disbelief, he fell into a state of despair. How could Chad leave him and take the baby? Hell bent on getting his life back, Simon fought his inner demons, an abusive past and false truths and walked a twisted path until he was a changed man. And suddenly, he was faced with the fact no one believed Chad was really in his life. Was he truly going mad?

Michael Dayton was a private investigator and former decorated cop. And he was the only man who believed Simon’s story. As both men slipped down a trail of lies and deceit, Michael attempted to drag Simon back from the brink of revenge and the ravages of insanity but he had demons of his own. Could the love and honesty given freely be their salvation or would Simon lose what was left of his humanity?

This is the first m/m book I've ever read. I have to say that much like most things that deal with the homosexual lifestyle you'll find that whether its m/m or m/f or f/f when it comes down to life and love we're all human and a romance is a romance.

In Done you have Simon who was swept up by love. Allowing himself to be blinded from what were obvious mistakes in judgment. This leads to a mystery that unravels years of deceit and lies. As his world is shattered he finds Michael who has to question everything, even Simon to find the truth. I enjoyed the different ways that Ms. Dayne led us to question what we thought we knew about the characters as she created a love story that wasn't the sweeping romance...but instead what happens after the sweep gets tossed off the porch.

This was really a well developed mysterious story. I admit this story held my attention from the beginning till the end. But that's normal as it was an emotional packed bomb. Both, Simon and Michael, were two tortured souls and both of them had hard life experience. In my opinion Michael was a really good PI, his work was interestingly written and pulling. I liked it all. But I'm sure Michael shouldn't lie to Simon at the end, because you can't start a new relationship like that. Chad was a head case, I didn't like him as a character. He was mean and bad.
The main written and developed case, was interesting and well staged, but for my piece of mind, the way everything ended, it simply felt rushed and undeveloped. It didn't feel right with such and negative emotional ending.

I started reading Done knowing it would take me on an emotional roller-coaster ride and man, I was not disappointed! The main characters, while emotionally and mentally scarred, are easy to fall for and the plot is unforgettable. When a man's child goes missing there are no lengths he won't go to in order to get her back. Theres suspense, mystery and HOT M/M sex scenes...Great depth of detail into the characters and their pasts, and an interesting tangle of relationships and betrayals throughout.

From the beginning till the end this story held my attention , Simon see all your life upset, ruined,as in a nightmare that live also we reading this book.
Suspense, mistery, and hot sex scenes makes of Done,a well developed story where also the reader not know what is the truth or lie. Original , interesting tangle of relationship, Simon and Michael are two person with tragic past but have yet want to love and have a family. Only the last chose of Michael leaves me mildly disbelief...another lie? Poor Simon...
