I love the dead—a passion for them if you will. There’s nothing like cutting, collecting, and storing parts of them in jars.
Can you keep a secret for me?
What I’m doing is immoral, but I’ve found someone special to love. If anyone were to find out… You know what? Let’s hope that never happens, because
It’s Illegal!

I’m a King. If the elegant font scrolled across my breast pocket is any indication of the name I bear, then my arrogance is sure to do the rest.
Want more?
I’ve held hatred in my heart for a long time, and I’m striking while the iron is hot. Vengeance, power plays, and manipulation are what I’m here for. We can even add murder to the table. Nothing is off-limits. Not even my girl’s toy, and
Whoever thought it was a good idea to mix Morbid humor, creamy strawberries (that’s not chocolate 👀), and immoral downright sinful spice scenes ( forgive me father 🙏) should be immediately sent to therapy!!! Oh wait… what if they already go to therapy??? 🤔 jail??? Ehhhh who the hell am I kidding… where’s the next ride??? I think Hell may have a first class reservation for me sooo let’s go again!!! . . . . . . . . . 😆😆😆 Hey it’s me the author of this f’ed up love story! And if this is your first time meeting me, I usually am the first to leave a 1 star review on my own book because like you this is where I go to sip the tea, get the down and dirties and generally decide if this is the book for me. I will say some of my favorite necro books are Skeleton King by Charity B (romance) and Dead inside by Chandler Morrison (Splatterpunk horror) and because they are my favorites I wanted to sit amongst them. Between them. So this story (Living Dead Girl) does just that. I worked hard to make this a good mix of both worlds and I hope you enjoy. 💚
Now for the Trigger List ⚠️
Don’t read this book. Don’t practice anything in this book or harass me. I don’t know where to begin with this one, but here we go. Nothing in this book should be taken lightly. It’s my darkest book to date. I even cringed a few times at what my brain came up with, but here we both are, testing that invisible barrier we call limits. Some things were researched, while others were creatively imagined based on medical knowledge. The reason is that it’s illegal.
Alcohol Alcoholism Amputation Animal abuse (rats) Anxiety Assault Blood Bones Cannibalism Mentions of a Car Accident Mentions of Child Abuse Dub/Non-con Death Drugs Emesis (Vomit) Gore Gun violence Hospitalisation Murder Necrophilia Needles Police brutality Profanity Rape Somnophilia Stalking Torture Violence
You’ve been warned. Please read responsibly. If you feel this list needs to be expanded on, don’t hesitate to let me know.
This is a Doctor/Patient(mortician) relationship that’s really messed up.
There are MFM & MMF scenes, but one M is either dead or dying.
splatterpunk. / (ˈsplætəˌpʌŋk) / noun. a literary genre characterized by graphically described scenes of an extremely gory nature.
—- adding: (thank you reader 🫶🏼) some incest like activities between side characters. This one was missed and will be added.
Wow! It's such a great mixture of two genres mixed into one to create splatterpunk romance. I love it! The dedication and trigger warning alone hooked me. Trigger warnings are my shopping list.
You will either love this book or hate this book. I love it. It’s one of the reasons I changed my rating from four to five stars. I can’t stop thinking of this book. It’s a dark, gruesome tale of a mortician who loves the dead and not a morally grey but black character. They share a unique take on the dead. That is just putting it mildly.
I love the dark humor in this book. Plus, I had several what did I just read moments. But that is what I was looking forward to in this book The author did a fantastic job with her storytelling and the little details. . I hope to see more books like this in the future.
Now i enjoyed Ayden books before.. i was hoping praying i would enjoy this one... but sadly, it wasn't the darkness and disturbed stuff.. it was the manwhore H that made me DNF at 35% and I knew there would be MMF scenes by the author but I thought it be between the mains. But the H was to much a manwhore for me to keep reading. See below for triggers
Safety- H has a woman suck his dick and had sex with a different woman before and after meeting the h, the h fucks a dead body H dead twin brother.
Ow/om scenes, cheating (in my eyes), drama
Recommend-not for me Cover-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What. In. The. World....Did I just read?! 😂 Don't get me wrong: I'm here for it.
This book has a TW-list that grabbed my attention and then this bit at the end of it: Close the book. Start on an empty stomach. AND Proceed with caution.
Now I can handle a gross book, so my stomach was fine. Splatterpunk romance is a genre I do enjoy! This book is unhinged, messed up and humorous at times. There's gore, violence and spice. This book made me laugh at times, out loud. Not sure what that says about me, but I had a good time reading this depraved little treat.
In this book you'll find: 🖤Splatterpunk romance 🖤Morally Pitch Black 🖤Doctor/Patient Relationship 🖤Funeral Homes 🖤Dead Body Love 🖤Gore that might make some of you sick 🖤Unhinged characters 🖤K!nk content / spice
I'm off to stare at a wall for a minute after that epilogue 🙂↕️Bye
"Or maybe a freshly dug grave? Instead of filling it with a corpse, I could play grave robber with my living dead girl. She’d fight me while I covered her pale skin in the dirt. The dark earth would pepper her flesh, leaving it stained a ghastly shade of black beneath the moonlight. She'd struggle to get free but secretly loved every minute of it, I'd take her hard, and I’d fuck her into the loose soil as if I was burying her like a corpse."
This book was everything. The cover alone had me sold and Ayden Perry is one of my favorite authors. I loved her Wings of a Butterfly Duet. In this story we follow Monica. She's a mortician. She also has an insatiable love for the dead. LITERALLY.
Jax is the twin brother of the dead man that Monica has been fulfilling her desires with at the morgue. Monica meets Jax whenever she needs to treat her repercussions of fooling around with the dead. The relationship that develops from this encounter is full of spice and bloodshed along the way. Ayden did a great job with this one. This one leaves readers on edge and craving more with every flip of the page.
Also, that rat scene? BRUTAL. Holy Shit. IYKYK.
Highly recommend checking out Living Dead Girl if you love Dark Romance and Splatterpunk. Two of my favorite genres blended together was a dream to read.
What happens when you put a lonely Mortician and a manipulative murderer together?
Chaos, blood, dead bodies, lust and much more!!
The unique splatterpunk romance is VERY WELL WRITTEN. You get hooked from page one following Monica where she gets along (a little too well) with the dead more then the living and Jax a chaotic soul looking for revenge from the people that did him wrong in life. How exactly do these completely opposite people find each other you may ask... one dead corpse!
I loved every single minute of this dark and twisted tale. The spice is HOT 🔥 🥵 and the vengeance is even better.
Make sure to READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS before taking a deep dive into this book. I promise you won't regret it!
This book was SO unhinged and really should have your stomach turning however I absolutely ate it up, it also made me realise just how desensitised I am now with absolutely no limits 🫣🤣
The story follows Monica, a mortician and Jax(king) a doctor who both get a little too hands on with patients/bodies 🤣 Jaxs POV honestly had me kicking my feet and screaming with laughter at his crazy ass inner thoughts 🤣 can’t really say much more without spoiling but PLEASE check triggers as this book is dark and should push your limits.
Oh also the bonus chapter had me giggling so much - little piñata 👏🏻🤣
First off, I cannot emphasize enough, CHECK YOUR TRIGGER WARNINGS!! This is a VERY dark and twisted he falls first romance. I loved how the FMC was ostracized, but she kept true to herself regardless. The MMC is twisted to the nth degree but he falls first and he falls hard for the local mortician. I won't give spoilers but I will say, the spice is extra spicy with a Tabasco twisted sauce and the reign of crazy that this lovely couple will undoubtedly unleash will keep you at the edge of your seat!
She said “splatterpunk romance” and I have to wholeheartedly agree. Every trigger, it’s in here, and some you probably haven’t even thought of. Did I love it? One million percent yes. Is it dark and disgusting while still being cute? Sure is.
I never expected to be chuckling my way through a splatterpunk - but here we are!
At the end of the day, we all just want to be accepted for our past and flaws, right? That's exactly what happened between Monica & Jax.
Monica had dealt with social isolation since she young due to her parents owning a Funeral Home, which she eventually took over once her parents passed. Jax - oh boy Jax.... The abuse and trauma he went through as a child is horrible, they say that trauma like that creates dark humor - and that is SO evident with Jax.
Now don't get me wrong he is completely unhinged and on an epic revenge path but his inner monologue and interactions with other characters had me laugh crying so many times.
This isn't for the weak - its splatter-punk we know this - I mean... RIP Gus..
Apart from that chaos the story line was flawless, the plot twists i DIDNT see coming and I'm kicking myself that i waited so long to read it!
I have honestly never read another book like this, and it was so good. It is dark and spicy, and some parts are utterly depraved. Even the main character Monica questions herself numerous times about what she is actually doing, but does it anyway!!
I loved that this is MFM with an almighty twist 💀. Monica and Jax are a match made in... the mortuary, and they are perfect for each other!! Their crazy definitely matches.
This book is jam-packed full of WTF moments, and I loved every one of them, and you will definitely never look at an innocent bowl of stawberries the same again.
This is one book that I would definitely say check those TW before embarking on this grusome and downright twisted story and then enjoy the ride 💚
I am neck deep in my what the actual fck era, and this book is everything I hoped for and more.
Living Dead Girl was my first foray into the mind of Ayden Perry, and while it’s been on my radar since it was released, I have to admit that I’m thrilled I waited for the audiobook to dive in. What a way to tell a story!
Firstly, huge shoutout to Ayden for making me melt for a psychotic sociopath on a bloody pilgrimage of vengeance. HO-LY HELLLL, woman…why am I like this?!
Honestly, I can’t even say much about this story, you’re going to have to read the blurb and embark on this journey on your own. What I will tell you is that it’s fcked six ways to Sunday, filled with the most RIDICULOUS one-liners that had me cry-laughing, and the spicy bits may have you questioning your moral fiber. I had a blast with this book, and Monica W. Adams and Jax S. King (yes, very proper), will live with me for a looong time.
Ok, audiobook. People…this is gold.
Raven Wildewood brings our girl Monica to life with this sweet air of innocence, but then seamlessly flips the script to showcase the monster beneath. She injects little nuances to beautifully portray a broken soul that cares nothing for social norms, and does so without flaw.
Sean Masters as Jax was something I never knew I needed, and now I feel like I can’t live without. I don’t think I can even begin to express how excellent his performance is, playing the part of a rage-fueled, obsessive connoisseur of vi0lence to perfection. Every word spoken, every inflection, every pregnant pause...I can’t. I just can’t.
Layers and layers and layers, the plot slowly emerges throughout, then BAM, slams into you for a whirlwind conclusion. It’s so good, it’s so wrong, I’m sad it’s over.
TO CONCLUDE…thank you, Ayden, for the most amazing chapter titles, ruining Enya, making me wary of strawberries, and for giving Gus Gus that glorious name.
Ayden gave me everything I didn’t know I craved (in a book) and combined it with a sense of dark humor that I couldn’t get enough of! Fair warning - this book is dark and twisted…the TW list starts with “Don’t read this book”, so of course I had to dive right in.
Monica is a woman who is carrying on her family’s legacy by running Adam’s Family Mortuary - but this lovely mortician learns she has a certain taste in men. I got a kick out of this heroine - she’s smart with the perfect amount of weirdness and innocence.
Jax is whole bucket of no cares, crazy and intelligence wrapped up in a handsome body. Some of the stuff this guy does made my jaw drop and just laugh at the unhinged quality he brings to every situation.
This talented author penned a story that entertained me enough to make me flip back to the beginning to read it a second time before even starting my review. I laughed, cringed, cursed, questioned my sanity and laughed some more because Jax and his Living Dead Girl are the epitome of “your crazy perfectly fits my crazy” and I loved every single word. Amongst the gore, spice, messed spice, suspense and humor there is an underlying emotional past (on both sides) that is flawlessly revealed within the building relationship between these two characters.
With all that said, this is definitely one of my all time reads that was a surprise find for me and I will be adding it to my physical library.
okay holy fk where do i even begin other than ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ i didn’t know exactly what to expect from this book, but hot DAMN am impressed. I love splatterpunk, but this was my first splatterpunk romance.
i was immediately hooked in the prologue (especially after having picked up and put down like 6 other books in the last month because book-hangover from hell) It took me a bit longer than i wanted to read, but that has nothing to do with the book, and everything to do with my life! lol
i was schoolgirl giggling, blushing and honestly really fucking enjoyed this story. I stopped and made my husband listen to parts, and it’s my most highlighted e-book, now.
King is pathological, completely morally pitch black and i was living for every second of it. Monica is so relatable, being the odd one out, made fun of and introverted, she starts off and sweet and innocent and quickly allows herself to indulge in her dark desires.
it’s immoral, it’s taboo, it’s fkn hot. 🥵 and the red pant*es scene 🫣🤤🤣 had me feeling all the feelings.
thank you for the opportunity to read this phenomenon💚
This book was recommended to me. And the first 4 paragraphs were weird (in a good way) arresting and chaotic. Hmmm...something that's different that I can vibe to, why not. But I couldn't ever get far. The writing was a little allusive but I fodged on in small increments and then 5% happened. This comical 4th wall scene break (MMC said he was pulling a 4th wall) leading to a flashback. By this point I realized the writing wasn't allusive, it just lacked flow. It was stunted, scenes as written weren't making sense. We get to 7% and there's a weird incesty he sorta kind of sexual battery to his brother or whatever (I don't do incesty) and the syntax and writing was still so stilted but also purple prosey with these metaphors and analogies that didn't quite fit. Yeah I'm good on this. DNF at 9%
☠️ SPOILER / ARC REVIEW 💚 Honestly Monica, what did you expect ? 🤣 Okay? So. I really love splatter punk books lmao. I was introduced to the genre from Dead Inside and honestly it's been a wild f\/cking ride. Ayden really made all my hopes and dreams for this book come true, and I loved every deranged part of it.
Here are my inner-monologue-moments: ☠️ "Sampson takes a step forward, and his foot must have found my stress ball because a flesh- toned nut skitters across the room. There’s my makeshift gag." Really King? You had to drop the nut 💀 That is so unsanitary. 💚 "My heart skips in my chest at my own boldness. He would let me do whatever I wanted." Well, Monica, He is dead... I would assume he has no objects he could actually verbalize to you at this moment. Cadavers can't really speak 👀 🤌 "Which wasn’t true. I would never mess up in surgery. Sure, I may have dabbled daily in my delights of coke and ketamine with a scotch chaser, but my skills were always superb." Honestly I feel like I need this cocktail right about now. Jax, that kills people 🙄
"His face is blurry in my sleepy state, making me focus on the sensations I'm feeling. I know him. He's soul-deep." Is this where you catch feelings? Cause I'm here for it. He's not even that bad, just a little psycho 🤷♀️
This book was wild af. 10/10. Thank you Ayden 😈🖤
P. S. Maybe don't read this book if you're squeamish. 🥴
P. P. S. Definitely don't do ANYTHING that happened in said book w the ☠️ You can do ALL the things in the book w a willing/consenting partner 🤣
P. P. P. S. Definitely don't read Dead Inside by Chandler Morris if you couldn't get past the first 2 chapters of this book. Or do... then come back and finish Living Dead Girl cause it was great 😏
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This book was so dark and depraved and I loved it. What that says about me, let’s not talk about it 😅 the only reason I’m giving this 4 stars and not 5 stars is because I was thoroughly confused when the revelation/aha moment came and it didn’t have the pay off I feel was intended. The last 25% of the book seems to have been completely unedited with errors I simply could not ignore. Multiple times main character’s names were misspelled…
Brandon’s name was often misspelled as Branon, Jeremy misspelled as Jeremey and even Jax’s name misspelled as Jack.
With some additional editing and clarification of the reveal, this could have easily been a 5 star read.
That being said, I will definitely be reading more from this author! 🖤
Living Dead Girl Narrated by Raven Wildewood & Sean Masters in dual narration.
I’ll preface by saying this was my first splatterpunk romance & I just love, love, LOVE this book omg. It was wild, unhinged, and funny af! I was blown away at how much I enjoyed this story.
This has to be my all time favorite MMC internal monologue EVER!! I was dying of laughter at times. I couldn’t get enough! Amazing writing! Just wow!
The narrators were fantastic! I normally listen at 1.75x speed but I dropped it to 1.4x to fully appreciate the narrators, especially Sean Master’s performance as Jax.
100000% recommend. It’s not for the weak so definitely check triggers!
Thank you so much Ayden Perry & BNA for the review copy!
So twisted, so taboo, & morally wrong- I loved it! Monica runs a funeral home, hates the living because she was/is bullied and gossiped about. She’s also a virgin who losses her virginity in a very non common way that isn’t exactly legal. The male MMC is “dr” Jax King. He’s horrible. He’s also a twin and he despises his twin. He meets Monica and realizes she is a bit depraved and it’s game on, she’s his period. Jax pretty mush sums up the ‘touch her and die’ vibe. This book sat on tbr for months and I wished I had read it sooner. This book isn’t for beginners diving into the dark side IMO of course. I can’t say it enough Check The Trigger Warning before diving in. LDG is dar, gory & spicy.
Living Dead Girl is a splatterpunk romance with all the trigger warnings my dark little heart could crave. I absolutely loved Monica, our FMC, and our MMC, Jax, is so far beyond twisted. He’s definitely one of the most unhinged MMCs I’ve read, and I was the edge of my seat waiting to read what crazy thing he’d do next. The plot was intriguing and there were so many WTF moments that I couldn’t get enough of. I enjoyed every single minute of this wild ride! 5⭐️
𝕎𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕋𝕠 𝔼𝕩𝕡𝕖𝕔𝕥: ☠️Morally Pitch Black 💚Dead Body Love ☠️Doctor/Patient Relationship 💚Funeral Homes ☠️Twisted Triangles MFM - MMF (One M is either dead or dying) 💚Gore that will make you sick!
This was my first Splatterpunk book, definitely my first Splatterpunk Romance, and my first book by Ayden Perry....
I have yet to find a book that has triggered me, and while this book won't be for everyone... I am OBSESSED! If you are squeamish at all, or have issues with any of the TW's listed, I'd suggest you steer clear of this one, BUT if you read those TW's and go hmm... then this one will be for you! Morally pitch-black, twisted relationships and scenes, lots of gore, and omg the strawberries!
This story was so intriguing and had a well-developed plot, even with a little bit of a twist there in the end, which my thriller booklover heart appreciated. My heart went out to Monica throughout the book because her story is so sad but MAN that ending! Wow! Jax is certifiable, but the way he worships his Living Dead Girl, is on another level. The spice in this was insane, literally, but I had such a hard time putting it down. I can't say more without spoiling anything but again, if you read the TW's and don't feel triggered, go read this one! It was SO good!
Ok if you don’t like sick and twisted then don’t read this but if you are into the unthinkable or unbelievable then this is the read for you. All the characters are sick or crazy but that made it work and the twist towards the end was added bonus. Steam is good but you gotta be a little twisted.
THIS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE!!! This is depraved, unhinged, and gruesome in the best way. I loved it and I couldn’t put it down. Jax isn’t morally grey he’s pitch black and I’m here for it. Monica is her own kind of deranged. Together they are absolute perfection. Their darkness found a match in each other and they accepted each other fully.
This was my first splatterpunk book, and I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. Read your triggers some stuff in this is wild as fuck. I went in blind and it was great. But some might need a heads up. LOL.
this book was like experiencing anal with no prep or lube. mixed thoughts, most of them are bad. i think they both should be checked out by a psychiatrist or some shit cause this isn’t normal. but gotta hand it out to the author the cover of the book is so creative
I started reading this book at the beginning of October, wanting to savor it slowly since it hooked me right from the start. I had a good feeling about it, even though I typically don't enjoy stories centered on murder and romance. This book, "Living Dead Girl" by Ayden Perry, features a slightly unhinged male character and revolves around a unique theme.
Even though Halloween is now behind us, I would still recommend this book any time of year. Just be sure to heed Reggie's warning to ensure you can handle its content. Overall, it’s a fantastic read that truly captivated me!
I will admit I was a bit nervous reading the authors warnings in the beginning because I tend to get squeamish easily. HOWEVER I couldn’t put this book down! This is absolutely the darkest book I’ve ever read but it kept me on my toes, NEEDING to know what was going to happen next. The spice in this book also had me feeling some type of way!
