Growing inside me.

To save us, Victor must die...

This book starts right up where the last book leaves off with the cliffhanger - is Victor alive? Laura goes from being worried about Victor or relieved before finding out that Victor alive at the church’s alter on their wedding day.
Their dance around each was entertaining and had me smiling. They had feelings for each other until hard words were exchanged and feelings were hurt on both sides. Victor is the new Pakhan of the Bratva and things get really crazy. Through it all the two were able to work through everything and it was a great story.

Action Packed Romance

Mya Grey has another winning Mafia Romance series. This series is really intense. Laura’s ex. Victor’s family issues. The fights with the Veselliev family. The kidnapping of Laura and Eli (Victor’s niece).

But it’s the way Victor finds himself falling for Laura that makes this story so good to read. She changes him. He gives her the world. Including her bookstore. As her friend Serena says, Laura is living a romance novel life.

Romance and mafia

I felt more romance in this book. There was action, spice but I wish characters had more depth.

Spice 3/5
Romance 3/5

Mya has written another brilliant story! This series will keep you glued to both stories from the get-go! This book was very suspenseful at the beginning for Laura. So much so that it kept my heart pumping to see what will happen next.

This couples journey will keep you guessing on what the next steps will be of their travels together. From a wedding, to a surprise in the vineyard, to Victor’s restored surprise for Laura, all of this makes you swoon. My heart melts for our alpha hero. Then comes Laura with all the drama she unfolds that keeps her strong throughout her trials in a mafia life. From an injured husband, to a surprise pregnancy, to a dramatic kidnapping that keeps you glued to her story. Yikes, this is one powerful story told, I’m utterly and completely in love with this series!! Laura is a strong and definitely a feisty heroine which makes her a brave woman. This heartwarming story makes you admire all of Laura’s adventures that she conquers to become a fierce mafia woman.

I lost sleep over this book’s dramatic ending, but every minute was worth it! This couples story was absolutely thrilling! This book is SO good, the story line flow, characters were well developed, and it was definitely a page turner for me. Can’t wait to read more books by Mya!!! This series is definitely worth the read! Highly recommend!

Book two helped solidify what the author was trying to do in book one. The author seemed like she struggled a bit in book one but was able to bring the story full circle in book two.

There were issues with this storyline that still annoyed me in book 2. The inability of anyone in in the Morozov family to be honest and frank and provide Laura with actual answers regarding important events throughout the novel was absent. No one including Victor was ever honest with her. Laura was expected to be quiet, speak on command and or play her role as Victor's wife without any forewarning of the crowd she was playing too. There were so many things going on behind closed doors between Victor and his sister (such as Dimitri) that were kept from Laura.

Victor continued his sexual conquest of Laura that was hot and cold. He did provide her with things that money could buy, such as rebuilding her bookstore but still seemed vacant when it came to actually revealing his growing feelings toward her. His response to their "oops baby" was not surprising, just disappointing. While the cracks in his armor were appearing, he was still fighting his feelings for Laura.

Laura's character wasn't perfect, but it was strong when it needed to be and protective/loving. She wasn't a calculating character who understood what the rules were while living in the home of a Bratva leader, nor was she vindictive. She was a survivor and forgave Victor more than she should have.

Victor's sister finally gets her day of reckoning by books' end with the revelation regarding of her husband's betrayal. I never liked her even after the incident with Eli and Laura at the end of the book. The lack of a personality or the ability to feel empathy wasn't in her DNA.

I tried to like this book, I stuck with the duet because I thought it would improve but it was a disappointment. I thought Laura had so much potential and I really believed she’d grow finally into the sassiness and gain a backbone but it was the same stupid betraying body syndrome as it was in the first book. Every two minutes it was “oh he’s betrayed me” or “oh he so mean” and she’d start to sound like she was going to stand up for herself but no, instead she just couldn’t help herself she just had to forgive him instantly and needed to sleep with him. Honestly the book was just one big eye roll after another. The “drama” just seemed to instantly be solved or over so quickly, there was never any satisfying build up and ending because everything just happened so quickly and ended so quickly. She got shot and we didn’t get a nice little hospital reunion or just something more satisfying than a three month later that glossed over what could have been a redeeming moment for Victor. Also would he have not fallen in love with her if she had gotten pregnant? Why did that have to happen instantly afterwards? Could there not have been a bit of grovel and time between him finding out she was pregnant before he realised he loved her at the very least? Also what happened to the dad? Could Laura not have stood up to at least one of them, I’d have been happy to have one scene where she could actually clap back at victor, his sister or Laura’s dad!!
To sum up: the sex scenes were good but the disappointing lack of character development and weak female character was just too annoying

This was an excellent 2nd book of a duet in terms of: Struggles between Victor and Laura, his confusion about his feelings and her fears for her future and that of her surprise pregnancy. In addition Laura struggles with adjusting to Victor's sister who is not the most welcoming sister in law! There is so much angst in this 2nd book, your heart goes out to the both of them. Laura was so brave and so wrapped up in the chemistry between her and Victor. She was shocked by the surprise pregnancy and how that changed all their plans. He was confused with all the things he was feeling, and so he tried to deny their intensity until he could not deny it anymore. Then to top it off she was kidnapped by an insane Bratva rival before he was able to say what was in his heart! They were so vulnerable to each other. The desire between them always fiery and present.
The resolution was so good it brought tears to my eyes. The way love changed him and helped him realize that loving Laura and his growing child was no weakness. It gave Laura the courage to allow herself to love him and to tell him what she wanted for her and their growing baby. Just a great ending to a wonderful love story!
Well done Ms. Grey!

Victor and Laura’s unlikely love story
This is the brilliant second part of Bound by the Morozov Bratva. I loved most of the Morozov family. Some stinkers though who are betraying the family had to be weeded out. Victor has a stoic posture making him a respected and feared leader, but he has a big heart where his family is concerned. Victor married Laura in a business arrangement but is confused about his growing feelings toward her. He doesn’t have feelings for women so why can’t he stop thinking about Laura?
The family is under siege by a villainous Bratva family who’s determined to destroy the Morozov family and take all their holdings. Victor and his men are fighting to keep the family safe and at the same time eliminate the threat. Victor and Laura make it through the fight with a strong love and a baby on the way. The sexual connection between Laura and Victor is HOT and who knew how romantic Victor could be? I was thrilled to receive an ARC for this awesome story. Well done, Mya! Linda

The conclusion continues on from book 1 cliffhanger. Will Laura be jilted at the altar or is Victor even alive? They don’t communicate their feelings to one another but from their point of view we know that they are falling and falling hard. I very much enjoyed the twists and turns, discovering the traitor amongst the family and who is truly loyal to the Bratva. Laura was very timid in the first book, but she came into her own when her life and that of little Ellie was in danger. This was a book full of danger and violence but also full of love and heat, wow, the heat was scorching. Great epilogue too. For an outsider, Laura was really taken into the hearts of the Morozov family for her bravery and sacrifice and was finally accepted as one of their own. Not sure if this series will continue, but it would be nice to find out what happened with Victor sister and if she gets her hea or that of his best friend Misha. I love Myas style of writing, she really does mafia and spice so well.

liked it but…

Okay, here’s a brutally honest review.

The characters are charming and the main couple have a great dynamic. But this should have been one book not two. The synopsis that’s given happens in the last 50 pages. The mole should have had more buildup, basically I didn’t care. It would have been nice if the villain was even a little bit scary. Overall everything fell flat, usually I give these kinds of books some wiggle room. I know you worked hard on the books but have someone outside of your circle read and then give you honest feed back.

Some things I’d love to see, ML being very protective. Why is FIL all of the sudden so happy and Elmo vibes? Why didn’t FL want revenge on ex? What happened to all of the product at the end? How did MLS not know about her husband? I’d love to see more of Victor with his brothers and that dynamic. FL is very one dimensional, she had a personality of a stale piece of bread.

But the actions nice!

Great 2 part story

I didn't realise this would be a two part until I got to the end of the first book.

While it is a Mafia/Forced Marriage trope it feels different and I don't know whether it's the way Mya Grey writes or just the twists and turns and intriguing characters.

The one reason I didn't give this 5/5 is because of the translations. With how much Russian/Serbian that was in the books Mya really needs to put a page at the start of the book with all the translations on it. Or have the words and translations at the start of each chapter.
As there was a lot of repeat words having a page to refer to throughout the book instead of copying and looking up on Google Translate would've been better.
I don't know what the people that like hard copies would think...

Otherwise, I enjoyed it. I would've loved the birth just with Victor's protectiveness OTT.

This was my first books that I have read from Mya Grey.

This is the conclusion of Victor and Laura’s story from Silken Chains. Victor and Laura are to be married for a year, a contract marriage. The danger from the underworld is very real for Victor and Laura. Victor tries to not get close to Laura but he eventually gives in to his feelings. Laura ends up getting pregnant. There is a kidnapping and the only way for Victor to save them is for him to die. There is someone on the inside who is working for the enemy. Will Victor find a way to save Laura and their child and stay alive? Will Victor and Laura’s feelings become real? Will Victor and Laura find love and happiness?
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book via BookFunnel.

Fantastic Conclusion to the Bound By Morozov Bratva series!

What a story. The story of Victor and Laura is a really good one. Book two continues with their relationship building to love. Victor is trying to figure out how Laura got under his skin and why he has these feelings for her. Laura's body betrays her every time she is near Victor and cannot resist his touch, etc. Her father has verbally abused her and she has a hard time accepting Victory's compliments and respect to her. Victory sister is still not sure how or why Victor choose her to marry, but she does an incredible act of selfishness to save someone. Laura and someone else does get kidnapped and Victor has to go and rescue her and someone else. I could not put the book down. Another great story from Mya Grey.

This book picks up right where Silken Chains lets off in the Bond by Morozov Bratva books. In this book Laura and Victor are each dealing with their growing feelings, Laura’s pregnancy, and a mole in Victor’s organization. It has all the suspense, plot twists, and betrayals, as the couple try to navigate their way through their marriage. It’s hilarious to watch the big bad bratva guy come to terms with being vulnerable and in love, as well as Laura’s growth as she learns to accept she’s worthy of love. Mya’s male characters may be morally grey/black, but when it comes to their women and families, they typically have some redeeming qualities, besides being super-hot, possessive and sexy. I could not put the book down and loved their story!

🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️

This was definitely better and was great ending to the duet.
It was longer than Mya's usual length of books.
There was a lot happening, more betrayal, more moles, more tension, electric chemistry, more spice and family love.
Although Victor unknowingly kept doing nice things for her he still pushed her away hurting her in the process.
Add on now she is pregnant with a fake husband and with an end date.
I loved little Eli, she was so smart and cute. She made things so much happier for Laura.
Victor's sister was scary but what life dealt her with, I don't blame her.
When Victor finally let's himself love Laura she is kidnapped.
Will he regret leaving it too late? Can they still get their HEA?
This was highly entertaining and I really enjoyed it.

Love Conquers

Victor finally admits his love for Laura, it takes awhile but he feels it and accepts it completely.

Things have to go wrong before they can be right? So many suspects in the betrayal stages! Dave, Laura's ex is prime suspect, then there's Dimitry, Victors brother-in-law!

The Vasiliev's ledger is hanging in the air. Dave wants it to save himself. Laura, finally tells Victor about the ledger which gives them the upper hand. Laura accidentally sees a text on Dimitrys phone about a ledger? Is it the same one in question?

Eli and Laura are taken with the help of Dimitry?! Ivan wants everything of Victors and is almost certain to win or is he?

Everything comes together and they declare their love for each other. It all started with a one night stand...

This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! Victor showed up to the wedding a little late and pretty banged up but Laura was thrilled to see him. She was in a church full of strangers no friendly faces except sweet Eli and her future father in law. The trouble is not over though. Her father is paid to walk her down the aisle and unleashes his usual tirade after the wedding and Victor takes care of him. David or Dave her ex is back wanting the ledger. And to top it off Laura is pregnant. And she has less than a year left in their fake marriage…if she survives. Oh and there is a mole in the ranks. This book is super steamy and I enjoyed every minute I spent reading it.

I’m still not sure if I liked this one. Two major issues 1. The blurb is the climax of the book which is basically admitting nothing else in the book is intriguing 2. The surrounding story is too big and the author spends very little time with the main couple as a couple. However I didn’t hate this at times I even enjoyed it and I only lightly entertained DNF’ing. It did at times feel like a chore to get through but mostly it was just meh. I don’t think I am interested in more from this author because the writing style is not giving me what I want/need. If you want a mafia book with just a side of HEA than this author is for you.

I was glued to this book! I could not put it down until I was done! I absolutely loved it! So many wonderful characters….the niece, who makes me smile. Her mother who, let’s be honest, is very scary! There is so much going on…from a wedding with possibly no groom, to a hidden pregnancy, to a kidnapping! I mean…you couldn’t ask for a better storyline. And it picks up exactly where the first book ended. Smooth! And really a wonderful HEA is just what we needed, and exactly what we get! Loved it! Loved it!

Victor and Laura’s story continue. The dynamic between the two would give any bystander whiplash. Victor has no idea what to do with the things he is feeling and Laura is still reeling from quickly things are happening. There is a lot of push and pull between the two throughout the story. I loved reading about the growth the two of them went through, both individually and together. There were a few twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. Definitely suggest it if you want a good growly mafia romance. Please read the content warnings!

Velvet Chains (Bond by Morozov Bratva Book 2) (Bond by Morozov Bratva Series)
by Mya Grey is a mafia romance novel. This book picks right up after book1. It is intense and full of emotions. We begin wondering if Victor is even alive and if he’s not what happens to Laura. The family is ruthless so she really needs him alive. They have to face many emotional and really everything challenges. Neither one of them expected to get married or to have someone in their life.
I really enjoyed this book and duet. I enjoyed the challenges and the love between the characters. Great job!

I received a free copy of this ebook in exchange for a honest review.

First things first; Laura makes for a very likable heroine; she isn't a coward, but she doesn't wander around putting herself in a endless loop of dangerous situations and she knows when to back the hell away. She isn't anyone's doormat, but she realises that sometimes she'll be better off keeping silent. In other words she doesn't irritate me by being a dumb, horror movie-like bimbo, whilst still having vulnerabilities to go with her backbone.

Victor is very confident and strong willed. His actions & the things he says aren't always likable, but they fit his personality and position very well. It makes the kindness he sometimes let slip more inpactful.

The Bratva family rivalry is much more intense and the scheming, infighting & plotting this involves, as they head towards a Bratva war is totally gripping. Mixed together with the dark romance elements, the humour, the soap opera levels of drama combine to make this impossible to put down.

If you already read my review of the first book in this duology, you know that I didn't think much of it. But this follow-up story is worth a more positive response.

The first half of the story ended with a question of Victor's death. Did he die? And if he wasn't dead, how was this issue resolved?

Laura and Victor are not yet married. If he still lives, will she stay and marry him? Will Ksenia accept his decision?

There's a lot more excitement, danger and mystery to come. It's definitely worth the read.

What a great way to end this unexpected love story between Victor and Laura. She finally gets a family that absolutely loves her and she loves them. The drama is amazing in this page turning storyline. The bad guys are really demented. Mafia life proves to be dangerous but Laura proves to be tough. As usual the author did an amazing job with this book and series. I would give it more than 5 stars if possible. It is the type of book and series that I love to read several times.

This is book 2 of the series. We continue with the story of Laura, who has been sold by her ex-husband to Victor Morozov, mafia boss. She has to endure at least 365 days with this man. She hates him but he takes care of her every ‘need’ night after night. It doesn’t sound bad, and she starts to enjoy it. Then Laura finds out she is pregnant. The story moves on from here when Laura is kidnapped with Eli. How does Victor respond? His girl. His baby. We see the full gamut of emotions in the series. I received an ARC copy from the author, and this is my honest review.

Victor is alive and shows up at the wedding, Ksenia pays Laura’s father to walk her down the aisle. All her father sees are dollar signs. Victor does not like him at all when he meets him. Ksenia’s daughter Eli is the one person that Laura truly adores in the family.

Things heat up in the bedroom between Victor and Laura. She is confused by her mixed feelings. Laura and Eli end up as pawns in the battle between the Morozov family and Ivan Vasiliev who wants revenge on the whole family.

The series was wonderful. Easy to read. The whole family showed strength and love.

Voice of reason

These two people came from two different backgrounds. She was forced into his world. She was forced to live in an environment where decisions we're made for her. Being treated treated like she didn't exist. Both kept their agreements but unhappy. It took her to realize how he really felt about her when something out of her complete control. Finally, she let loose on him.

Sometimes, we allow people to step on us to keep the peace. And we will always lose. If they step on you, they never care about anyone but themselves.

This is a Bratva book but it's light at the same time! The lightness comes from Laura such a likeable character.

Yes there's a Bratva story going on with danger etc but there's a steamy hot not meant to happen romance between Laura and Victor that's delicious.

Also being a book lover, I loved the references to books in this book, I highlighted a few as they tickled me.

The story finishes in a way that makes me happy.

I'd recommend this book to people that like Bratva books with a side of lightness.

Laura and Victor

Unfortunately, the story didn't really change from the previous book.
There was nothing there between Laura and Victor. No connection. Nothing but sex. Outside of that, Victor had very little interaction with her. Didn't seem to care for her at all. Neither did his family, for that matter. Nobody treated her well. When she ended up pregnant, he had the worst reaction possible and hurt her even more. The end was cute, but I was a little t late for me to believe he cared for her. Not a Duet of books I would want to read read in the future.
