Navy SEAL Sebastian ‘Crash’ Roth’s career was cut short with a Teams-ending injury, but the Shepherd Security crew knew of him and his dedication to the mission from a prior meeting with him. Doc recruited him into Echo Team, giving his SpecOps career a second chance. He’s eager to get back into the action and prove himself on his new team.
Briana Woods is a woman with a secret life, more guts than most men, and a fiery personality that throws off a definite ‘don't mess with me’ vibe. And Roth finds her irresistible, which is a problem as Shepherd Security is investigating her.
Shepherd Security recruits only the best. They can protect someone in trouble like no other because they work in the shadows, invisible, and outside the system where the rules don’t apply–just the oath they took. They don’t exist. That’s also why they can break any suspect and can get answers out of anyone accused. That’s when they’re called in, when someone must be protected at all costs, or when answers must be obtained, by any means necessary.
Warning, this story is realistic, with adult language and content on the way to the HEA. This is book 15 in the Shepherd Security Series. It is best enjoyed if read after book 14.5, A Shepherd Security Christmas. Even though the story does continue from book to book, each is a stand-alone story and can be read without reading the prior book(s), but they are best enjoyed in order.
Margaret Kay is a wife, a mother of two adult children, a grandmother, a pet lover who makes her own dog food from scratch, and a writer of Military Romance Novels.
Margaret's husband proudly served 8 years in the United States Navy. She's a veteran of more than a few deployments as the spouse who took care of the family while her military member served halfway around the world.
I got to read these books back to back (love when that happens) 15 books, but the author has said there will be 9 more books. So will look forward to continuing reading Sam shepherds security series. (I used to be a military wife but never had the lovely group of lady's for support,English army) I read all the time and have read many military books some stand out more then overs, it's great when there is a different approach.you can tell this author is or was in the military world in her real life she do not just focus on the men going on missions the wives/girlfriends gets a lot of pen time also, relationship are not forgotten when they are deployed, banter and talk of family is always there, The characters have had darkness touched them in some way or another. Poor shepherd and Angel stands out to me the most, well written characters in this series that don't fade away with each book we see all there storys grow.I This book I must admit was not my favourite felt slow in parts I did see where it was going and maybe that's why it felt slow? I like the noble cause bree was not Bad, but I did feel she was military trained and smart I would of thought she could find a way to make it legal at least make herself a private investigator make her own company. (Wood shields FWIN) could of made it look like a investigation agency in truth she would be investigating but really it's for women in need. Anyhow I still did not understand why she was going by lisa i get she did not want her name out there doing what she was but Lisa's ex would be looking for that name she could of selected a fake not linked name for other activities? Still I enjoyed the read be interesting to see shepherd new project grow.
I really enjoyed this read! It is fast paced, action packed and suspenseful. Sebastian, aka Roth, aka Crash, is on a team investigating someone accessing a dark net chat room for unknown revenue. The CIA fears a hit is the reason. Sebastian encounter a man and his sister, Briana, a former Army MP who is helping domestic violence victims escape their abusers. She’s doing this by downloading new identities via a back door in a CIA program. A former boyfriend showed her how it’s done. They are given a stern talking to and promised to never do it again after today. When she sees one of her clients being unalived by her husband, the sheriff, she calls Sebastian for help. She’s unsure if he saw her and she wants him to pay. As I said earlier this is a great read and will leave you with a feel good feeling.
My rating 4-1/4 stars. As much as I enjoy this series, I wasn’t as “wowed” with this novel as I was with previous books! There was way too much re-cap in the first 2/3rd of the book that it dragged the book down! I felt like I should have re-read all the books as characters from other novels are brought forth in dialogue and you have to dig down deep to remember these characters … and all the particulars from their own stories! I have to admit, the last part of the book was exiting and fast paced …. that it made up for the short comings of the beginning! That being said, the book is still an excellent read and am looking forward to the next!
This is my favorite series. I was waiting so impatiently for this one. I have to say I rated it as a four as I was a bit disappointed this time. A fair amount of the book was a recap of situations from previous books and that was offensive to me. While I understand it created a timeline while Briana was helping others, it just didn't work for me. I kind of feel cheated out of a fresh new story. For some reason I was also expecting this to be Yvettes story too. Looking forward to that one...
I really liked the idea that they involved several aspects of other Operation Angel books, other operations that Sebastian was involved with and bringing it together as a whole, but also being able to read it as a singular book. I am sure as more books are written, we will continue to learn more and more about the Shepherd Security family and their inter working relationships. I am so looking forward to reading all about them. Thank you, Margaret Kay
I was so excited to get to read another book in the Shepherd Security Series. This series is my all time favorite. The teams do such admirable work in the missions they go on. This time, Roth comes upon someone already doing admirable work (Briane) by helping others & saving lives. I love all their call signs & the action scenes in these books. Also glad to see there are 9 more books coming. It will be hard to wait for them.
She is a very talented writer, and I enjoy the "behind -the -scenes" of what security teams go through to solve crimes and protect us. BUT, why the need for the raw sex scenes? It is so unnecessary. Also, would a couple hiding from a psycho killer be losing control like that? I really don't think so. I guess this is just "the world we live in" now. Writers think they need to throw some sex scenes in their books.
This is Sebastian and Briana’s story. Sebastian is a medic and team member for Shepherd security. Briana was an MP but now runs missions by herself to save women and children from abusive situations. She has a brother who knows computers well so helps her get info on the women she helps. She comes to Shepherds notice as they borrow ID’s that the CIA have in a data base. Much drama happens but there is always an HEA at the end.
This is a story concerning domestic violence and the people who help others escape a perilous existence. Most of the time relationships are impossible due to keeping secrets and travel not shared but it takes a team and resources for the long haul.
Find out how the MCs meet and continue the mission.
Was a very good book! It kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting read the next page and the next ! I can hardly wait four the book to come out !! I'm avid reader I love suspence and romance, especially military books because they seem more real life and action packed!! Thank you Margaret Kay for the books you write
As I've said before I served 28 years with no real combat. A fair bit of training yearly. Met my wife in a mess hall over 57 years ago. My daughter retired from the USAF. And a granddaughter is training at Annapolis Naval academy. Our roots go back to our pilgrim ancestors.
I really love this book. The characters are smart, loyal, dedicated, and enjoyable. This book has lots of suspense and action and the beginning of a romance. This is another very entertaining book in this series!
This is a series that you mark your calendar and check your email for the next story to come out! It is that good! Every story just gets better and continues on with Shepards crew.
This is a unique, complex, and intriguing series with terrific characters, humor, drama, mystery, suspense, and unexpected twists. You certainly won't want to miss it! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
Operation: Reckless Angel is another awesome novel in the Shepherd Security series. Roth and Brianna’s novel is impressive because it is about doing the right thing even if it’s difficult, borderline illegal, dangerous…
I really enjoy this authors work, she's a great writer and every story is different. This time it's the turn of Sebastian and Briana meeting and working through a relationship. Sebastian's team is investigating Briana and her brother, she has secrets. The team intends to find out what those secrets are. Throw in action, adventure, explosions, evading capture, interesting characters and romance, a great recipe for a book.
