Healing

This book helped me so much I’m keeping it in my library. It’s nice to know that I am not alone in trying to find answers and healing from past trauma. Reparenting myself isn’t something that I had ever thought of. This book is a very compassionate and empowering guidebook. It’s nice to know that I am enough and worthy of love and healing.

When you don’t know where else to turn…

I’ve always struggled with personal relationships and I’ve come to a point where I don’t know what else to do. So, I picked up a book. What really helped me from this book were the tips on how to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to understand things from my past that have hurt me and how to work through them. I never realized there were so many signs telling me that my inner child is wounded. Some questions that we can ask ourselves are: did we feel safe as a child and were we given the freedom to express ourselves? Those two questions right there really hit a nerve with me. But in a good way! I’m glad to be working through all this past pain.

Everyone should take care of their inner child

This was a very helpful guide in determining whether your inner child needs extra care and attention. Whether, as an adult, not having healed your inner child, problems have arisen that we may not have the wherewithal to deal with. It out only contains descriptions and definitions but also offers practical ways to work on solutions. I would highly recommend this book to the struggling adult who just can’t figure out how to get it all together.

Good jumping off point

This is a nice overview of how to start healing. It has useful exercises. I found the Socratic questions and DBT sections most helpful. I wish there was more information on rigid boundaries and how to help with those.
