This is an Experiment: Poems, Musings & Wisdom Gained

Rate this book
This is an Experiment is a collection of thoughts, poems and insights written by Alexis K. Cogley over a specific two-year period of her healing journey. As there are no particular rules or flow to follow in Life, her debut collection reflects the experimental, experiential and often chaotic–and wise–nature of our human condition. Each of Alexis’s poems, musings and wisdom gems is a window into her journey and mind, offering metaphorical medicine and profound insight to the reader. From the ecstasy of new and somewhat taboo love (tantalizing lust?), to the anguish and confusion of heartbreak; from the titillating beauty of nature, to the complexities of truth; this small collection captures a snapshot of the human experience through the eyes of a yearning and learning woman with honesty and vulnerability. Alexis fosters a sense of connection with her work, while inviting her readers to contemplate their own power, desires, traumas, sexuality, identity, beliefs and fears.

I loved the flow of this book and how it was divided into three sections: poems, musings, and wisdom.

My favorite content were the pieces on intuition, meditation, portals, and love.

Alexis has such a unique and profound POV and I hope she comes out with more books!!

Thank you for the soul medicine! The way you string words together is truly a gift.

Cogley’s prose was like walking through a field at dawn with the wind whispering each word right in your ear. She captured the beauty of the human experience in a way that echos the romantic era of poetry, similar to the likes of Keats and Tennyson. Highly HIGHLY recommend
