This book gets four stars for one reason - the MeasureUp practice exam software included with the book. The book itself would be more appropriately titled, "An Overview Of Windows XP That Excludes Any Real Content On What Will Be On The Exam And Makes Up For It With Entirely Too Much Detail On Things That Don't Really Matter And You Probably Know Anyway." Their title is shorter than mine; mine is far more descriptive. However, the exam prep software makes it all worthwhile as it drills you on what you need to know to pass the exam and has enough variety in its questions to keep you from memorizing them from repetition.
Read the book just to familiarize yourself with how much you do - or don't - know about XP; use the software to actually prep for the exam.
