Plot: 4/5 • Smut: 5/5 ————> Kidnapped by a rival gang and forced to marry one of the son. She initially is miserable and is resisting (obviously) and is trying to find ways to escape. Over time, he wears down on her and eventually they fall in love. There is some drama. There’s technically not a third act break up, but there’s a big enough argument to constitute as one.
Plenty and plenty of smut between the FMC and MMC. Well written.

Horrible. I’m upset about reading through to the end. I skimmed the majority of the book but can tell there is no substantial plot. Yes, there’s lots of spice, but nothing worth fantasizing about. Ugh, this should’ve been a DNF.

The start to The Burkes Mafia say you might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way! Two from the same background mafia Declan sexy as all get out son of the Irish mafia who is trying to find his way, be the son his father trained him to be, he is dangerous, ruthless on a good day, deadly every day, making a decision to kidnap their enemies daughter and his father is proud but he has other plans for his son demanding he marry his enemies daughter…he is thinking say what…marry who. Bree is sweet when needed spicy every day, loves her family (only because they have shown what they want her to see) when she is kidnapped by none other than her father’s enemy things don’t go as planned and she fights it every step of the way until she is told they are getting married leaving thinking the exact same thing say what…marry who. The magnetic pull is there between the two of them but the idea of an arranged marriage to a man who kidnapped her is an issue for her despite the pull between them add to that the secrets that didn’t stay secrets about her father and things he has done makes her sick but where does it leave her, will they learn to communicate learning to be married, will the marriage work out for them, will they learn to be honest with one another, and can they find happiness somewhere on the roller coaster ride of everything?

This is the first book “The Burkes Mafia Series”. This book tells the story of Declan and Bree - I was hooked from the first chapter and could not put it down! I love a good Irish ☘️ Mafia story and this is most definitely in that category. Physically, they are both attracted to each other and gradually feelings of the heart ♥️ start to develop. Bree’s whole world falls apart when she finds out what her father and her family is involved in and what they have done, especially to Declan’s family. This destroys her. With all this baggage, will their marriage work? Will they have a real marriage built in love and trust, or will it be in name only? It will keep you hooked …..
A thoroughly enjoyable read from one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. You will fall in love with Declan and Bree, hoping that everything with work out for them and if they have a future together. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

Declan was made to marry his enemy, he didn't really want to but to please his father he did.They thought by kidnapping their enemy's daughter would blow his stack but he didn't care.Days go by and Bree is kept has a prisoner kind of. So next Declan's father comes up with a idea to have Declan marry Bree thinking that would make her father mad but the bride and groom hate the idea but Declan makes Bree see what choice she had and didn't have. Now they are married but hate it.But after awhile they are growing on each other and learning about each other and things start to feel different with the couple.Bree feels comfortable in Declans family but she still might not trust him and he is starting to feel different too.The couple finally express their feelings to each other but then Bree does something stupid and it effects Declan's life.She wants to tell him what she did but she doesn't for awhile and it puts wedge in their relationship. I like this couple,this story and the mafia effort.Im glad that Declan and Bree work on their marriage and trust and that Bree over came the feeling of being a outsider in the enemy's family!

I'm a sucker for a mafia romance, and this one did not disappoint. The book starts off fast and furious, with a kidnapping, and then, surprise! A marriage!
Declan and Bree are both equally shocked and furious about the wedding, but, what choice do they have?
Thankfully, Declan finds Bree absolutely breathtaking (and admires her tenacity and fire), and Bree is really into angry sex.
The relationship progresses slowly, starting physical (and OH BOY IS IT PHYSICAL!!!!), but continues on into more, because Declan and Bree are very compatible.
The spice in this book is top notch, and there is *A LOT* of it. It's the kind of spice that makes you clutch your chest and think maybe you'd like to be married to a hot mafia man.
ANYWAY, the story is good, and gives us the growth of the relationship in a good timeline and natural progression. Bree learns things about her own life that she didn't know, and, of course, it causes a horrific conflict, but, eventually, we get out HEA and I'm glad for it.

I thought Vengeful Vows is both suspenseful and a page-turning book. Throughout the entire book, it kept my interest of wanting to know what was going to happen next with the characters. I found Bree to be a romantic character who was wanting to marry someone for love, but she is forced to marry Declan Burke who is the son's enemy of her father's. Declan thought it to be a great idea to kidnap Bree Murphy who anger Niall Murphy (Bree's Father) to start a war. In the beginning Bree tries her hardest to escape from the Burke's to file for divorce, but eventually she begins to have true feelings for Declan Burke. Declan also begins to develop true feelings for Bree. I love the fact that Bree and Declan end up having a happy ending. I would recommend this book to other readers who enjoy an amazingly written Mafia Romance book.

A wonderfully written story that has characters that make this a great page turner. A story with suspense, intrigue, actions, and steamy spicy romance as well as a happily ever after ending that no one will want to miss.
The story is about two mafia families that have been rivals for a very long time. This story starts off with a kidnapping as well as a wedding between the two mafia families. Throughout the two main characters fall for one another even though neither one wants to be in the situation that they are in. Along the way love is found, a bad mistake happens and one finds out what being a family really means.
At the end the two are parted only to come back together without any of the past in their way. The couple find out about lil one coming their way. The couple are now in love and are happy being with one another.

big fan of Kira so i was super excited to start a new series by her and it did not disappoint! can’t wait to read the remaining 3!

Kidnapping his enemies daughter may have been Declan Burkess finest hour or not. Especially when he found himself marrying her. Bree Murphy definitely disagreed with this forced marriage and she let it be known too. Vengeful Vows is a great fast paced, intense story that kept me quickly turning pages to see what's coming next. Bree is a fiesty girl and fights Declan at every turn.

Lara and Paige (Declans sisters) are fantastic and I hope their stories come soon. But, the one story I can't wait for is Patrick's! His story is going to be so good and he deserves something great too.

For the most part, I really enjoyed this book and was rooting for Declan and Bree. They were each great characters individually, but there was something special when they were together! There was an undeniable air of sexual tension and lust, and their verbal sparring just heightened it all!
The only reason I deducted a star is because there were a few things that I felt were left hanging. The situation with Niall was not resolved, especially after what happened with Paige. Why was Paige in that spot to begin with? It was said that neither she nor Lara were allowed to go out without their brothers or security, so where was her security? Other than those unanswered questions, this was a great read and I’m hoping there’s more from the Burke family!!!.

Oh I love Kira's books. This one was no exception.
When Mafia princess Bree is kidnapped by a rival she is forced to marry Declan, but she hates him with every part of her.
These two were so good. Friction galore, but fiesty and snarl at every turn. I enjoyed the banter and especially the evolution of the romance into something with respect and eventually love. It was a hard road and definitely as the reader a justifying one. I truly loved it.
So well done, it was a great book to read which tugs you into a different world. Declan and Bree were so wonderful to read about.
Can't wait for more! Highly recommended!!.

Declan Burke has come up with a brilliant idea, as the son of a mob boss he decides to kidnap Bree Murphy, the daughter of his father’s greatest enemy with the hope that it will start a war and force Bree’s father out into the open. Thus begins the hot, steamy, and very exciting latest novel from author Kira Cole about a forced marriage Mafia-style following Declan’s impulsive act of kidnapping a gorgeous young woman from her bed. The plot is wonderful and kept me on my toes, not sure of what came next, but unable to put it down for a minute until every word was read. Sooo…run to the store and buy this novel NOW!!

Neither the bride or the groom is happy about this but they both go along with it. The more Bree fights with him the more he wants her and this leads to a lot of angry sex. The pair cannot deny the chemistry they feel for each other.

This is Book 1 in the Burkes Mafia Series by this author. It is an enemies to lovers romance between Bree and Declan from rival families. These two flawed but likeable souls and the unique plot make for an intriguing read. What starts out as a kidnapping evolves into a forced marriage that turns into something more. It is a captivating love story with drama and steam, action and suspense, sexual tension and chemistry, and twists and turns, plus appealing secondary characters to keep the reader interested. An engaging page turner.

Declan Burke has kidnapped Bree Murphy who is the daughter of their dad’s enemy. Needless to say, he didn’t know kidnapping her would be more than he bargained for when his Da makes them get married. What better way to get to her father than for the two families be joined by marriage. Well, it doesn’t seem to bother her father at much since all he wants is to take away the Burke shipments. When things start to get even hotter and heavier, these two realize that their feelings for each other are real. Can Declan see beyond betrayal and can love conquer all? This is the first book in this series and it was a really good way to start. Looking forward to Paige’s and Kael’s story.

OH, MY STARS this mafia romance book by Kira has some of the ABSOLUTE BEST action, mystery romance and characters ever written. The storyline is so RIVETING and HOT that I had to keep reading because I had to see what was in store for Bree and Declan's relationship. Be prepared to lose sleep when you start reading this book if it's close to bedtime because I stayed up until the early hours finishing it and WOW what an ending it has. So, don't say I didn't warn you on just how WONDERFUL this book is and I am SUPER EXCITED because it's a new series coming to us.

What a wonderful mafia story this was. We follow Declan and Bree. Their first meeting is not a good start. Her father is the enemy of Declan's family and in revenge he kidnaps her. What he never thought is that the kidnapping slowly changes and their marriage is also different than planned, We have to deal with family problems and drama and action. While all this is happening, the feelings between Bree and Declan become increasingly intense and sparks soon fly. Will they get their hea? To find out, I recommend reading this book.

This is one of the best stories I’ve read from Kira Cole. For being a dark romance it was really super sweet! I really connected with these characters. Declan stole my heart and Bree was amazing considering the life she was thrust in to. Lara and Paige were pretty great. Grey I’m unsure of.
A great romance with some very passionate moments, a little kidnapping, a gun shot that almost went bad, a gained family, and HEA!.

OMG 😱 another great book. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. There’s story of Declan and Bree was addicted and the chemistry between them was unbelievable chaos and drama. Could she tame him and his wild ways as she became in his wife after her kidnapped in that moment. It was going to a revival war between the other families. He was possessed, handsome, powerful man. It was dangerous and entertaining of a power play .

Dexlans plan to kidnapp his family enemies daughter Bree was gp8ng well till his father told him they must now marry, she's at least 10 years younger than him and shes definitely against the idea. But soon Declans feelings change, he wants his wife, but will she give in. Well written engaging sassy heroine, banter, desires,steamy scenes action and more!.
